    Just repaired my wife's Lenovo L14 using your example. All I had to do was to unplug the BIOS battery, short the contacts and reconnect everything. Thanks so much for sharing you knowledge with all of us!! 😁👍

    The T14 is easiest opened on the back of the laptop, the clips of the lid slide in the front where you started to open the laptop. I have a T14 Generation 3 that I have upgraded with a fingerprint button. They are so easy to work on and parts are available everywhere.

    there is a reset button at the bottom. at 1.00, you can see above the middle screw, there is a pin hole, you can poke it with a sim tool or whatever u can poke through. all T series has this reset hole, because of the bios freeze due to errors. all new ones have two bioses. but ec as u said gets corrupted for whatever reason.

    We currently have T14 and L14 were I work. Strange that the WiFi card is permanently attached to the mainboard - ??? I have a lot of L14 laptops that are having some kind of handshake or USB-C protocol issues when connected to a Dell WD19s dock - works with WD19 and Lenovo docks. T14 laptops do not have this problem. The problem is when (out of the box - both new WD19s and L14 - connect the dock to the laptop - blinking power light on both dock and laptop and some type of connect/disconnect sound from the laptop. Connect a Lenovo dock - works normally, then connect the L14 back to the Dell WD19s - no more blinking lights and the WD19s works normally?

    T14 comes with a reset hole pin. I assume you reset that before opening the laptop? That's what we normally do. If it doesn't work, then we open it and unplug the battery, followed by a CMOS reset. It's an easy fix, sir. I'm not sure if you still intend to charge the client.

    The reset has nothing to do with EC/SIO. When you are pulling out the CMOS battery, you are essentially resetting the Power management controller inside the PCH. A laptop which works by reseting CMOS will come back after somedays as it's a sign of PCH slowly dying inside. Since you are getting more laptop jobs now, you will learn this after sometime.

      How do mean bro isn't that different

    • @anshadedavana
      @anshadedavana ปีที่แล้ว

      @@themuzer1301 , Nop. I speak from my experience. Some modern laptops doesn't came with a seperate CMOS battery but the main battery will have a pin which outputs 3v and functions as a replacement to the CR2032. In that models, unplugging and plugging the battery essentially is same as a CMOS reset.

    • @bertr6741
      @bertr6741 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@anshadedavana yes, just like the Toshiba L50 series I'm using. it has no internal cmos battery, and when the battery die, the bios date and time always reset, and to stop the annoying correcting the date and time every time I turned it on, I bought a new laptop battery.

  • @edmundmergl6155
    @edmundmergl6155 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    ... it's coming quiet hard .... well, you need to open the base cover in the correct order: first the back, then the two sides and lastly the front. Also there is no need to open the laptop in case of a frozen BIOS: there is an emergency-reset hole in the base cover.

    i have an acer laptop that turn on (orange and blue led light) but the laptop is unresponsive, fan spin a bit and then off, display port not detecting external monitor, and usb port not detecting external mouse and keyboard. I almost conclude that the motherboard is faulty and need to send for motherboard repair. Turn out its all because of the previous user trying to upgrade the laptop using regular sodimm ram (DDR3) when in fact the laptop refuse to turn on simply because it needs low voltage ram (DDR3L). Hope this will help someone out there.
