Hi, I have a Legion 5 Pro with an RTX 3070. Last night, I turned it off before going to sleep. This morning, I noticed that while the laptop was off, the keyboard and other components were still powered on. I tried to turn on the screen, but it didn’t respond. I then used the power button to shut it down completely. After that, I attempted to turn it back on, but nothing happened except for the power button lighting up. Any ideas what happened?

Thanks for the fix. I have an intermittent problem with Legion 5-17iITH6; to eliminate Ram I ran Mem Test 86. I let it run 3 passes which take about 3 hours. Hi, I have a Legion Y530 with 1050Ti, i5 8300H, 16gb RAM(2x 8gig). It immadeately turned off when I booted it. I took out one of the 2 RAMs (the original one) and it worked. Thanks a lot. It didnt work right after the “repair”, the laptop gave me a blank screen, so I replaced the other RAM in to the other slot and bamm now working!
Thanks! This helped me to fix such problem, but more easyly in my case. Having the described symptoms, I didn't disassembled it, rather I pressed the power button and did not release it. Hello! I just reset factory again my Lenovo legion y540 yesterday 8.15.2024. I did it via settings and find reset PC. And it did, now my problem is after resetting it nothing appears in the screen. I thought till now maybe it takes a very long time to regenerate the system before it wakes up or the screen pops up. But till now 8.16.2024 still nothing appears on the monitor. What should be the best thing to do? Thank you so much! Now I just let it on I will try to turn it on till the morning and see if it wakes up or screen pops out.
For a computer that wont turn off, press and hold the power button for up to a minute to turn the computer off. If that fails, remove the battery and unplug the power adapter to force a shut down. What happens after that, when you try to turn the computer on?

Hello, so I have a Legion 5 15ARH05. A couple days ago, when I was playing video games for a few hours, the screen suddenly turns off and then the fans would go full speed. The laptop is still on, and I can still hear what's going on in the game for a few seconds, until the laptop shuts itself down. I figured this might be an overheating issue and then decided to replace the thermal paste of the laptop. When I opened up the laptop, I figured that I might as well clean up the fans while I'm at it, so I took out the fans, disassemble them and clean them thoroughly. After that, I replaced the thermal paste and put the fans back on. When I powered up the laptop, it turned on for about 5 minutes as I was checking for the idle temperature after repasting the laptop. But a few moments after that, the screen turned off but this time without the fans going full speed (like the problem earlier). I force turned off the laptop, and then powered it back on. This time it runs normally for a few minutes until the screen just froze and the laptop is not responding, so I force turned off the laptop by holding the power button. This time I saw your video and tried the holding the power button for 1 minute method for like 10 times. Tried turning on the laptop but screen still doesn't want to turn on (power button is on, backlit on the keyboard is on, even the Fn + Q shortcut is responding as the color of the power button changes). I opened up the laptop again, and to my surprise, there's a screw missing from my fan. And I found the screw when I take out the fans, turns out it was below one of the fans. I put the screw back on and tried turning on the laptop but the screen still not turning on, nothing is showing on the screen, I can't even get to the BIOS because the screen is not turning on. I'd love your help on finding out the issue, I'm an open book and would answer any questions you ask instantly and thoroughly. Sorry for the long explanation, as I hope you might find out what's the problem if I explain everything that had happened. Thank you!!
@@PC_Monkey I think so. If, after trying all these steps multiple times, you have not been able to find the issue, your most likely looking at a faulty component preventing the motherboard from working or a motherboard issue. I would start troubleshooting each component, starting with the charger and power jack. You can see those two videos here; th-cam.com/video/YBhsVHideGE/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/HpabvrNaodU/w-d-xo.html. I was using a Lenovo V14-G3 IAP laptop and unfortunately my 10 year old grandson broke it while playing a computer game. Unable to open and setup. So I took it to the repair shop to check it out, and the repair shop replied that it was because the hard drive was broken and needed to be replaced. I need to think about it before I get it back. After retrieving it, I came across your TH-cam online and wanted to ask for help. Follow your online instructions, open the bottom of your computer, and find a space on the left side of the battery, which should be the space for an HDD or SSD hard drive (hard drive caddy - holder). Why is it empty? Is the hard drive of the Lenovo V14-G3 IAP laptop model particularly built-in, and does the empty space give for additional hard drives? Or was it lost in a repair shop?

I removed the battery and the rams and tried booting directly from the power supply but it just light up the keyboard and nothing happens.
I really am frustrated about that.
I'll try doing what you said in the video and return to this comment with the results, thanks man
I was using a Lenovo V14-G3 IAP laptop and unfortunately my 10 year old grandson broke it while playing a computer game.
Its most likely a space for an additional HDD
Hello, i have a legion 5 17ACH6H. I noticed that on my PC it was 7pm, or it was 11PM in reality. So i changed the hour and continue to used my pc. 2 hours later, when i turned off this one, 5 min the screen was black but all the system was still working. So i pressed the power button to turn off the pc. The day after, i press the power button to turn on the pc and nothing happened. The light from the power button is lightning but no noise, black screen...nothing happened. So i tried several manipulation, changed the Cmos, disconnect battery...but nothing. Do you have any idea ?? Thanks a lot ;)

Also, did anything happen before the issue? Overheating, liquid spill, Windows update, etc?
Hello I have a legion 5 15ACH6H and a while ago split some water on it however I did take the back of and dry it from where it was working for a couple months however the laptop now refuses to turn on however will make a boot noise and fans will whirl for a while with the keyboard still working to shortcuts until it just turn off do you have any clue on the issue ? Is it the motherboard or battery ? (Btw it only works while plugged in)
It turns on and works well when plugged in? Then you may need to replace the battery
Hi there. I have Thinkpad E440. It got overheated and since then it is not powering on. I tried all options you mentioned but didn’t work for me. When I press and hold power button, I see the light blinks 3 times, the fan runs but the screen won’t come on. I tried external monitor as well. Any other things I need to try. Appreciate it. Thanks.
Just so you know, over heating situations can be hard to troubleshoot just one issue as multiple different components and boards including the motherboard itself, could all be faulty.
An overheating computer can be damaging multiple different components if not resolved. First, make sure that the fan and vents are clean and clear. If you need help accessing the fan, let me know what brand and model computer you have and I can help you get inside it. If that does not fix the overheating issue, then try replacing the thermal paste on the CPU and if needed, the GPU as seen here; th-cam.com/video/gGCUmI2NU0E/w-d-xo.html. If that fails too, replace the CPU
I have a Lenovo Yoga C930. A few weeks back I had issues while working and I shut it down. On restarting it asked for Bit locker key. I could not locate the key in my Microsoft account. I left the laptop as it is for some time while researching how to locate Bit locker key. Now the laptop starts when i power it up, Lenovo sign appears briefly, then the screen turns black. Could you please suggest what should i do?
Can you try the steps seen here? th-cam.com/video/oL1R1Tw0jSo/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for your response. I cannot get the power to stay on any more. It come on but then blinks and goes off. I tried to remove the battery but it seems suck. So I did not pull it out. Now the power button is not even working. I feel stuck and have no back up of the data on this laptop. Not sure what can I do next.

hello, I have a legion 5 15ach6 and it suddenly stopped working. There is no signs of life and it is also not charging (used both the power brick and a usb pd charger). I tried all of the procedures in the video but it still won't work. How can I fix it?

Same issue
I have lenovo legion 5 15ach6h, i did everything shown in this tutorial however only thing that my notebook does is power led turned on, works only on batery .No display output, no fans, no lighting
Similar thing like this happened to me already few times, but after a while i was able to turn the notebook on
Where could be the problem?
Thanks
If, after trying all these steps multiple times, you have not been able to find the issue, your most likely looking at a faulty component preventing the motherboard from working or a motherboard issue. I would start troubleshooting each component, starting with the charger and power jack. You can see those two videos here; th-cam.com/video/YBhsVHideGE/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/HpabvrNaodU/w-d-xo.html. You can also try replacing other components like your Power Button to see if that is the route cause. If none of those are the issue, you would then be left with a motherboard replacement.
Hi, I’ve gone through every possible trouble shoot I’ve seen on the internet. My Legion Y540 just will not turn back on. My battery was cooked but I have got a new one now. When I press the power button, the only thing that comes on is the little light next to the novo button. This light turns on and off intermittently with the charge light. I’ve no clue what this could mean. Any ideas?

Hello! I bought a new Lenovo LOQ 15iax9 with 16 RAM, RTX 4060, i5-13450hx, after having it for one day it turned off suddenly and when I plug the charger it is not showing any signs nor lights, and when I I click on the power button or trying to hold it, the laptop makes a sound like tak tak tak it stops for a few seconds then tak again it stops then tak again
And nothing happened like I was having that laptop for less than 48 hours
@@frageraug1380 Are you able to try the power release method seen here? Be aware though, that some forms of DIY repair may void a warranty. You could be better off returning the computer if its that new
@@frageraug1380 Funny, same thing happened to me, turned off yesterday while gaming. Does not turn on anymore, not even charging lights. Can hear a double - clicking sound every few seconds when on the charger. Tried power drain few times with and without battery, but nothing. Lenovo Pro 7i 16IRX8H, 10 months old.
