My Chromebook suddenly could not turn on. Following your video, pressing and holding the escape & refresh keys and power button works and the recovery screen appears. I just press power button to off and on the Chromebook and it works again! Thank you very much!
Thought my wife's computer was dead. It would not turn on for us. Nothing at all. I followed your instructions and its now working great. Thanks and keep up the great work.
I can't be certain but I used the ESC Refresh Power combo on my ACER 317 after the sreen went blank for over 30 minutes when trying to update firmware related to the Logitec Universal Receiver. In desperation I pressed the combo and it alarmingly hesitated but seemed to come to life in any case. Everything after that seems to work as designed. Thank you, I had become depressed thinking I had permanently lost the Chromebook while trying to update firmware...a scary operation in any case. High praise for TH-cam and for those techno-angels who, like yourself, make our lives more liveable.
The school laptop never came with an sd card so I just went into the recovery page, turned it off, and it worked when I turned it back on. Thank you so much for helping. I’m immensely grateful :))))

Lenovo 100E Second Generation ... Wow! I’ve literally watched videos where I had to take my laptop apart! Just pressing the Esc+F5+ Power together turned it back on! Thank you! Hopefully it doesn’t turn off again.

I have this new school chrombook for 4 years and in the first month of having it they recommended insurance for the whole school and for a good 10 minutes I wish I had got it 😥❤ this video helped max asf
Very helpful video, thanks. My daughter's brand new Lenovo Chromebook 300e seemed to be DOA but ESC+Refresh+Power forced it into OS recovery mode.After a normal reboot I was then able to set it up. 2.5 hours of wasted time waiting for it to charge, researching the Web, etc. As a 'wall to wall' Apple user all I can say is Chromebooks...POS. Thanks again.

OMG! I am absolutely stupidfied! It has immediately started working after I disengage the battery and pressed the power key for 60 seconds and then plugged it back in. OMG OMG OMG Thank you so very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very much! I was almost ready to curl up and die without my Chromebook! Thank you SO VERY MUCH! ❤²
@@PC_Monkey I know I was a bit unenthusiastic in my original post of appreciation. 😂 I want you to know how much I appreciate you. Asurion told me that if THEIR instructions, "to hold the power button in for 30 seconds" did not work, it's not revivable. They would have had me send my pristine Chromebook to them to get pennies on the dollar that wouldn't have amounted to what I paid for it's protective mCover. People need to be aware of these horrific companies that are out there that make TONS of money off of unsuspecting individuals. I have been programming PCs since 1986 and customizing Android phones since 2005 yet I didn't know what the heck to do with the Chromebook when this happened. I felt like an expert repair person that was trying to figure out what to do with the Martian ship that just landed in my backyard because it is so different from anything else I've ever worked on. The layout defies logic and everything that one knows about the componentry and build of a traditional PC or laptop. I actually believed that awful company when they told me that my Chromebook was toast and, because I cannot be without some sort of device, I was trying to figure out how on Earth to pull some money together to get something. My finances are absolutely non-existent due to cancer treatment gone wrong. Yet this company lied to me and told me that my Chromebook was toast and would have let me give it up to them for pennies on the dollar after spending money for their warranty program to start with. You really do not know how much of an angel I consider you to have touched my life today. Things have felt just way too overwhelming and this felt like a virtual last straw. Thanks to you, I can do a rewind on the whole thing and pretend, to myself, that the whole fiasco with the Chromebook never happened. Thank you again 🙂

Omg Thank you so much! My computer is new and o accidentally hit a key I'm not sure which one but it went black and the power light was extremely dim. I tried ao many things. Thank God I found you! All I had to do is hit the 3 keys and power it back on and it was completely fixed ! Nothing else. Wheeeew! Thank you so much! Such an easy fix but without you I couldn't have done it! Awesome! I'm at the step at 8:12 in the video; the keyboard ribbon is connected, and the battery is disconnected. However, near the charging port, there's a red light which is blinking. What does this mean?

I would go into the director mode but there’s no mouse to click on chrome recovery
I think you have to copy that link on something else
For me i pressed the power button then it reset because i froze my school crome book 11

Will these steps work on the Lenovo Chromebook C330 as well? My Chromebook worked perfectly fine 2 weeks ago when I last used it and now I have no power.
I tried the first step and nothing happened but I wanted to make sure that the following steps would work for my Chromebook before I tried them.
