Hey Matthew I would like to know if the Nitro 7 is worth the purchase if I'm using it for graphic designing and photography ??? I would appreciate the help thanks!!
Could be the Nvidia and Intel combo's.. I have the RX560X version and on Tomb raider Ultra settings, I maxed out at 81°C and 71°C, CPU and GPU respectively.. Not on max fan speed and with the wind blowing the hot air back into my laptop (had to face it away from the window because of this) Average FPS in the benchmark is 74. With minimum being 58
@F. B. I. No.... 81°C is perfectly fine for laptops most gaming laptops at very stressed applications in 30°C ambient temp.. .. These benchmark in the video also showed 91°C. If it's Fahrenheit then it's way too cold for most applications it's downright LN2 cooled. Intel CPUs cut out at 105°C.. GPU goes to 95 ish before thermal throttling.. Get your units right..
Hi Matthew, I'm thinking of buying a gaming laptop. I choose between Asus ROG Strix G or Acer Nitro 5 both are GTX 1650, i7 and 9th gen. Which one do you recommends? Btw, I laugh at the "stare up your nose" thing. Lol 😁
They look identical but on you links nitro 5 is 8th gen i5 while nitro 7 is 9h gen i7? 128 vs. 512 SSD? 8 GB vs. 16GB RAM? Better metal built and screen quality for the 7? Seems like a big difference to me. You actually get what you pay for.
I was considering the same thing, except I dont see the point in i7, rather go with i5. 1660ti seems like a beast, the only concern is if the cooling can handle it.
CorbenRF yeah, Also didn’t find a good English review of this model , so im afraid to buy it , i5 seems fine , if no one recommended 1660 ti one im not gonna buy it
The 1660ti gpu doesn't really get that hot. 65 to 70 degrees on high loads. It is the cpu that gets really hot. There is not undervolting from acers nitrosense so if you do it yourself you see a dramatic reduction in cpu heat ESO on average dropped 25 degrees cpu heat, assassins creed Odyssey dropped 15 degrees.
@@shadim2935 no idea why, does it have a factory control system like the predator sense on the helios 300? What I did on my nitro 7 was I capped my 9750h cpu clock at 4 ghtz and undervolted the core and cache by -145 milivolt. If you don't set core and cache to the same volt then the cpu ignores your setting. But go slowly downwards in voltage dont start at a high number.

If u want to get the nitro design then i recommend using a laptoo fan cooler with high cfm air flow like the cooler master notepal x3 200mm center position fan or other fan cooler with 2 fans to cover the side where the cpu and gpu sit
Upgradeable upto 32 not 64 by D way Awsm review I have ever seen
Nitro 5 is more reasonable than nitro 7.
If anyone can spend more money than buy Predator Helios 300 (2019) version which is beast in its price range...
Hey man
So does the nitro 5 thermal throttle in gaming also?
@@DBZPokefreak No. Not in every game. If you do specific stress test on this then it throttle but every game has its own requirements of cpu and gpu power. In most cases, you will run every AAA titles High or Ultra high @1080p resolution with average 50-60 fps.
At this price what does anybody want...
@@abhitsinha8813 yeah you're right man
I'm also from India btw 😊
I'm literally do confused because there are so many good gtx 1650 laptops in the 65-75k range
Asus tuf asus rog strix g Legion y540 nitro 5 hp pavilion and omen....
Which one should i go for?
See hp omen starts in india @90k and below hp sell pavilion gaming laptop in which you can't control fans or overclock the graphics. Asus and acer are best brands to go with budget gaming laptop below 1 lakh price point.
Go with asus rog not with "tuf" series becoz of bulid and design.
Well i have Acer Predator Helios 300 with i5 8300H and GTX 1050ti.8 GB RAM and 128GB + 1TB HDD. And i am frankly happy as all game runs super smooth...
Even with predator heat problem is same as with nitro
Bought the new nitro 5 and it's great😍😍. I'm still curious about the g3 though.
Shaishav Acharya are you still liking it? How is the gaming? I’m worried about the single channel ram...
@@Flowerz__ I don't game that much but yeah i still like it. While gaming it heats up a bit. Undervolting and applying better thermal paste should solve the problem. Otherwise, this is great value.
Hey Matthew, how do you get 64GB of dual-channel memory? Two 32GB sticks?
Exactly !
I don’t think people understand what BUFGET means if your willing to but nitro 7 you might as well get predator Helios 300. The best “budget”gaming laptop is the Nitro 5
Matthew...pls make a video on Acer Triton 300 ....
Should i choose Triton or nitro series.....?
I wanted to invest for streaming but i was confused which one i should pick
Hello Matthew. I need to buy a laptop for studying, gaming and a little editing, What should I buy between Nitro 7 or tuf A15?
I have Nitro 7 and I love it.
Hey Matthew I would like to know if the Nitro 7 is worth the purchase if I'm using it for graphic designing and photography ??? I would appreciate the help thanks!!
Here Acer Nitro 5 costs $900 or more...
Specs- 8th Generation
Core i5
8 gb ram
Geforce GTX 1050 4gb
1TB hdd and 256 gb SSD
Is it worth it mattew bro ???
It cost 500-700 on amazon
90 degrees. That's way too hot for max fan speed.
Could be the Nvidia and Intel combo's..
I have the RX560X version and on Tomb raider Ultra settings, I maxed out at 81°C and 71°C, CPU and GPU respectively.. Not on max fan speed and with the wind blowing the hot air back into my laptop (had to face it away from the window because of this)
Average FPS in the benchmark is 74.
Undervolt... problem solved
@@randomesteven3935 im imagining somebody just like pouring liquid nitrogen over their computer to get it to 90 farenheit
@@dylanmamiya1944 yeah.. No way in hell, cpu will get 32°C without nitrogen
I can personally say Acer needs to do a rework on their cooling system. Burned through my Nitro 7 in less than a year.
Please for everything that is good and holy no more hand movements lol good video though thumbed up
Hi Matthew, I'm thinking of buying a gaming laptop.
I bought the nitro 5 two or three years ago and I create a lot, colors are not accurate at all 😩 but gaming experience is lit
Do a separate review for a nitro 7 cooling pad...plz
There is a model nitro 5 (1660 ti , i7 9750h) , thinking about buying it . Any thoughts?
The screen is only a 60Hz Screen. That's onething for you to consider.
i mean if ur gonna go for the i7 9th gen and 1660ti, i would recommend the helios 300 (2019) version
Jay Shin It’s not available in my country and it’s probably gonna be expensive than this , they say this model also has 144Hz screen
I was considering the same thing, except I dont see the point in i7, rather go with i5. 1660ti seems like a beast, the only concern is if the cooling can handle it.
CorbenRF yeah, Also didn’t find a good English review of this model , so im afraid to buy it , i5 seems fine , if no one recommended 1660 ti one im not gonna buy it
there is also a GTX 1660 ti version I remember. Will it have better performance or will it thermal throttle like hell?
it will thermall throttle a lot
It gonna explode after one hour gaming cause of thermals
The 1660ti gpu doesn't really get that hot. 65 to 70 degrees on high loads. It is the cpu that gets really hot. There is not undervolting from acers nitrosense so if you do it yourself you see a dramatic reduction in cpu heat ESO on average dropped 25 degrees cpu heat, assassins creed Odyssey dropped 15 degrees.
@@afoaa I don't know why but for me undervolting doesn't make any change in term of heating I am using dell g5 i5 8300 gtx 1060
0:48 that was a great laptop you cooked
undervolt and cooling pad.
my 9300h nitro 7 holds 4GHz on all cores and max cpu temp touches 80-85 on full load.
and I got it for the price of a N5.
Are they enough quite to use at the university's class? Like MacBook pro ou MacBook Air?
Nitro 5 is better. I will buy it yesterday.
Best option save a little more money and buy Helios 300 2019 instead of nitro 7
They should've ditched the 2.5" drive slot in favour of more battery. I mean they could've fit A LOT more battery in that space.
Both Display are 144hz on Acer's wab site
He got the earlier version with non 144hz
Lots of over heating problems ACER these laptops. Many people having
replace the factory thermal paste with hi quality paste. ACER skimped on
the thermal paste.
Yes the old 1 2018 will be the best bet if you have 1. Don't go for the newer 2019 . Just add a good after market thermal paste.
@@MrMegacoffee Indeed. I don't know what ACER are thinking. I don't game don't have the time.
As an electrical engineer I do shake my head at times.
Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Thermal Grease Paste. Woot
Matthew what do you think is ths best laptop below 1100$?
THe helios 300 has dropped in price below $1100 if you can score that I recommend it over the nitro
@@MatthewMoniz how about an ultrabook below 1100$?
I'm looking for a laptop for traveling and edit some 4k videos. I think 7 is good
Lately, I'm caught up between buying Acer Nitro 7 (GTX 1650 ti) and Acer Predator Helios 300 (GTX 1660 ti), which one is the best in terms of graphics, performance and power?
