The Minion Necromancer has taken Season 4 by storm and there are plenty of variants and different ways to make the build shine. Whether it's flying through Helltide, or taking down endgame bosses, this build can do it all. I wanted to talk about some of the overarching ideas behind the Minion Necromancer so you can better understand how it works, and which Skills, Passives and Legendary Aspects work together to plow demons.

@@ak_getright9905I can guarantee you Rax does the same as me, I bought the same black hoodie 5 times, his are just the iconic blue. Because that's efficient, rotating through your gear whilst the other are in repair/wash

Honestly just play them however you want until you get to late endgame it won't matter. As soon as you start tempering your gear for extra damage everything melts

Once again you make a video explaining everything that can be found in other video's, BUT!!.. you explain it so much better, giving people options, and not just shout: GOLEM IS BEST, or MAGES ARE BEST.. thanks for explaining the WHY and HOW it all works like it does. Some of these tips aren't even in any of those other guides..

This is my first season in which i play with Necro, i've always used other classes, but for this season i wanted to try Necro, but without so much knowledge; and then i you came with this video explaining perfectly and in the best way possible, that also my child of 2 year can understand it.

Dude! This video is fantastic! Giving a comprehensive understanding is better than a build by itself anyday. Some youtubers will pepper in explanations here and there but its usually from a perspective of THEIR understanding and that is sometimes more confusing. Only a few min in but i can tell this is what ive been missing to really understand and appreciate playing the class. Thank you!

Super helpful buddy, thank you so much. This will be my next build, and I will definitely follow the planner. Have a level 100 frozen orb that is absolutely shredding everything, but it does struggle with bosses at pit level 50. Trying to find ways to make it stronger against single.

Very informative video. Lot of good informations about the mechanics and how things work. This is much more valuable than "a guide". I'd like to add that i really like flickerstep boots to reset bone storm. Stille xperimenting with it, but it feels very smooth when you get uded to itand the uptime of bonestorm is very nice both defensively and offensively

Very nice. I've been building my necro on my own without any guides or help. Seems I kinda fell into your shadow mage speed run setup on my own. This gives me focus on where I need to adjust and what gear/affixes/aspects I should be farming. Awesome guide Rax.

This was great. I like the approach of giving options, rather than telling ppl what to play. I have a strong lvl 100 necro already, which is basically shadow with minions. This gave me food for thought. I'm trying the crit aspect now

You've done a great job explaining quite a bit about this build, only for it not to matter much because minion blight necro is so strong that you can be very powerful with not great gear just like I'm doing right now. I've mixed and matched several things you mentioned here to create some monstrosity that somehow clears tier 40 nmd at level 80 without much effort. No mention of a certain unique ammy that helps blight hit targets super easy by splitting it into 4 blobs that fly fanned outward. Still great video thank you very much for the explanation about bone storm I'll have to tinker around with that

Funny i seen Macro's video last night on shadow minion and then you released this and i was already debating if i wanted to switch shadow because bone storm is one of my favorite skills ever. Now I've been convinced i need to switch my minion build 😅
Great video! I currently use aotd + kalan's and have gotten to the low 70s pit so far, but I have a legacy harlequin that I am still using. How could I incorporate shako into shadowblight? Do I have to use 1h/focus for the additional aspect? Or would you actually suggest dropping shako to pick up the helmet slot? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Same day 1 minion necro didnt care if it wasn't good before. It was the most fun. Everything else imo is just boring.
Great video bro. Last night I got an almost god roll of ring of mendeln. I went from using a shadow build to switching to a bone spear build because of it. Using bone mages, they can proc deathless visage bone spear on their 6th attack. I’m around lvl 75 and am comfortable clearing tier 45 NM dungeons. Happy to explain the build more if you want.

Fabulous stuff for us necrophiles Raxx! Mrs & I are really enjoying this with our variant using CE and Iron Maiden (for thorns and the first rune which gives essence back for blight). CE is just too much fun with the unique howl gloves for the homing undead! :)

Another splendid summary and essential (no pun intended) analysis. As a player somewhat between casual and no-life, I find all these synergies intuitive in retrospect but occasionally too much during the leveling and early-endgame sprint. Would you consider making a general theory crafting guide, i.e. your (or the community's) methodology when tinkering with builds? Once upon a time in a Diablo 3 season, I tinkered and fussed with a Demon Hunter until I arrived at an Impale build I liked, later to discover it was a meta for that season. That was a richly rewarding experience, and sometimes I feel like the meta makers do such good work for me that it obviates my personal exploration for godly combos. If this is just a "me problem," do shut me down. Thanks again!
Played pre-season to lv 80 on barb and necro, played S1 on rogue to lv 60. Haven’t played since but I think I’m gonna try this season with this build

1k likes now :) The stuff from other streamers is a mess, they dont link to maxroll or maxroll guide dosent match the build they are playing. Im glad you are around to help us cheese things and break things down the way you do. Personally i dropped army of dead and went with blood surge from level 1-60 ( im 60 now) I tried the blight cast build but i run out of essense too fast. I know it wont scale right later on but if you are mid tier consider it because its just really FUN to play Its like s2 playstyle where you run in, corpse tendril, get golem to taunt, then spam blood surge and everything dies in 3 casts like a bomb while you overpower and fortify. When doing helltide leveling you just stand there and become a living bomb
Ok I’m updating my plans thanks for including all this information. I’m still levelling only in wt3 and I’ve been frustrated with lack of essence 😂. At least I have multiple options now and I know what to build towards.

Are there any uniques / uber uniques worth slotting into these builds that are worth dropping legendaries for? Ring of Mendeln, the curse pants, Temerity? I guess I’m always still in the mindset of chasing unique drops and it blows my mind legendaries seem to be better overall 😂.

Hey Raxx great video. I have a question, theres a lot of minion all resists and armour on the paragon board, but if I'm capped are they also capped? Seems like they would be so the paragon points are wasted.

You nailed it. Always loved/main a necro first each season, and someone intimate with this class: you nailed it.
This video is a must watch video to shos someone who wants to try a necro, or for an intermediate player that is not intimate with the class.
You covered the basics, explained things clearly, and defined the who/what/why/how perfectly.
10/10 video, to cover the class. Granted the class can get niche and way more in depth, with hybrid builds- but until you are at the point of self theory crafting a necro in depth, with understanding what does what on the paragon board (without looking everything up)- this video is in depth enough.
Saving this video for future recomendations, atleast until things change in future seasons, or the class changes enough where it has multiple avenue META's.
this build is a blessing, my girl and i played the campaign and loved it when the game came out, and then i went all out last season playing hardcore. This season, i get to play couch co op hardcore and build one of these for my girl while i'm playing a pulverize druid with debilitating roar, the game is now keep her alive until the minions kill everything.
good builds that are easy to play improve the accessibility of the game, and then the challenge to good players becomes finding the skillful builds
