If a restaurant lets you buy an All-You-Can-Eat Buffet 5 minutes before closing the door and kicking you out, would you be ok with that? Or would it be better for both parties to put a limit to when the buffet can be bought? I remember when they said the MTX skins and mounts would be on par with in game rewards, so players wouldn't feel pressured to buy anything from the store. Yes, you don't need to buy battle passes or skins, so now let me ask you guys to look at the battle pass free vs paid tier, and then look at the transmogs you got for free in game, and lastly check the paid skins in the store. If you want to be extra through, compare mount skins and prices as well, it's optional. They're not scammers, they're using psychological tactics incorporated into every single part of the game to push players towards the in game shop, and battle pass. Remember invincible? That's one example for you free of charge. ps: Of course you don't "have to" buy it, but just think for a minute and realize that all these cosmetic items would be in the game to earn through gameplay if not for the monetization tactics. I agree with renaming the Eternal Realm "Kind of Like the Stuff That's Here Right Now Realm" but you only compared the price of the $90 Ultimate Edition that has $50 in cosmetics. The base expansion is $40 for the new content and class. While this model is a bit outdated, it's the same as Lord of Destruction and Reaper of Souls.
Also the BP in D4 are really easy to fill up, for example the season 4 one was done by lvl 80 for me, I would agree that they could add a bit more stuff for the free version and enough premium currency on the paid one to buy the next BP if you finish it. Overall I would also love it if the BP was a bit.. bigger, adding more stuff for endgame activities to it

I understand what you are saying, I would say that if you have a battle pass in the game, it should at least be F2P. Paying 70 bucks for a game so that future cosmetics to be locked behind another 15 or so bucks a month sucks. It means that super cool looking stuff to show off your character isn't achievement based, but credit card base. The resets are common in ARPGs, which I don't like, but it is common. The Battle Pass should at least give you currency to get the next one so that the game stays alive with returning players. I will not pay for the xpansion and I wont pay a "sub" for the BP for the chance to grind out items.
But what if you didnt have to and still kept the content you paid for and got to unlock it at your own pace? Helldivers 2 proved this to work on their game so it is not impossible (not saying you claimed this btw)
I don't see anything that could even give a small "scam vibe" from this expansion. seasons after expansion releases won't be expansion locked and it was stated by Blizzard in the IGN interview with Rod I believe. every season adds something permanent as well, and seasonal powers always come back in some form, like malignant rings and vampiric aspects. quoted line "even more updates on the way" rather refers to updates specifically regarding expansion content like mercenaries that we're getting 4 of 7 found thru leaks. there is even more content that is not stated in the expansion itself but clearly will come with it's launch, like 2 world bosses, some silversmith vendor, craftable food, empowering items (could have been the previous name for masterworkin) and few other things that were found in the leak regarding VH. this video gives away a vibe of "D4 bad, because I don't like seasonal systems and can't afford ultimate edition expansion" only misleading thing in this video is stating that expansion costs 90$ when in reality it is just 40$, 70$ if you decide to purchase game and DLC. 40$ might be still alot, but that's only since we don't know yet everything we will be getting in that expansion
That could be the reason behind it, but they did say they wanted to push out expacs every year. So seeing VoH a little over a year after the initial D4 release, is kinda expected.
I don't think you can effectively put all seasonal content in the eternal realm without it being a freakin' clown fiesta of power creep - That means they have to spend a lot of resources balancing to versions of the same game. I do agree it's a bit lame to see it all go forever though. Additionally, the expansion is 40 bucks, not 90. You decide to pay 90 for the entire cosmetic package and battlepass. Also, seasons are the way to do it for most arpgs. It makes the game feel fresh as you can try out a new character/build with new content coming out.

If i buy at day 1 and play season 1,2,3,4,5 (then i quit and never play it again) And a new player buy in and starts playing at season 6 and then play season 6,7,8,9,10 We get the same amount of content and play time for our money.. not a scam.. Its the same with schools.. When i went to schools we got old win 95 Computers.. (season 1,2,3,4) Kids now days gets a ipad and modern computers (Season 5,6,7,8,9 and beyond)

The battlepass stuff is shady but at least it's voluntary. I'm much more pissed that they had the balls to drop a $50 expansion after the $70 base game was unplayable for a year. We get ~6 months with it before they have their hand out for another $50. Balance and build diversity is a disaster, itemization is still half broken, some builds are broken by design unable to ever scale properly. There's an ever growing mountain of bugs, with every patch at least one thing is broken. Even this anniversary patch, goblins were borked and the dog counts as a pet. So now minion builds are a little stronger, and minionless necros are screwed. At this point some builds can't function without the bugs, and some can't function because of them. Many skills have been dead for multiple seasons, but they consistently add some of the most expensive cosmetics to the shop I've seen in any game. I don't care about their aggressive monetization; I care about the price tag relative to the shit state of the game.

I don't know why people are happy or unhappy. I am disgusted with the way the game is, I only bought it because my gf wanted to play (because she loved D2). I bought it what 2 weeks ago now? Seeing another DLC with locked content and the amount of in-game cosmetics is just the clearest sign of how they are going to operate. Yes I will complain, yes I have a right to and the answer of "this is what it is" is just what the future will be if people keep buying those things. I will at most buy this when it is 50% off minimum. The point of the pets are to be able to sell more cosmetics. The seasonal content isn't a scam, that's pretty normal for this type of game. That being said Diablo IV is still a scam, Diablo 1, 2, and 3 aren't scams, not even Diablo Immortal qualifies as a scam. If I have the physical copy of Diablo 1, 2, or 3, as long as I have the hardware, I can play it 10 years, 20 years from now. I bought something that actually exists in perpetuity. What about Diablo Immortal? There's no upfront cost given to Blizzard to play Diablo Immortal, once the servers are offline it's gone, but you didn't buy entry at the price of a physical copy so it's fine.
I wish they added the base game to the £75 edition. I play through game pass and would purchase the £75 edition if it also gave me the base game to secure my dlc purchase incase game pass ever takes d4 off the library
Alot of other games do similar stuff or they eventually go free to play and have some exclusive gifts for the people who paid full price to make them feel special still and not forgotten about. Gamepass probably grew d4 playerbase more than you think. So would be a smart move on their part to throw in a game that's already getting played through gamepass and it encourages gamepass players to purchase the dlc knowing they won't be robbed of the base game down the line. Win-win. D4 gets boosts to sales and dlc pre orders and they rake in the money. And they look good doing it (not being greedy). Plus if they gave the people who paid full price cool exclusive cosmetics to make up for the game being thrown into this bundle in a better value for money deal. Like give them a cool mount ect. And a unique skin for each class. I'm sure nobody would complain

This is the only game I play. Been playing it from the beginning. I like it. I liked it when it came out, I like it more now, especially after the expansion. All the constant whining from pro content players should be taken for what it is....whining for clicks. Yeah, Im dissapointed that they dont carry over older expansions to Eternal Realm. Though this season I doubt tempered/masterwork items will be completely all reset to base weapons/gear when they transfer over to Eternal. Willing to bet they stay at the spot they were last modded- with no ability to temper/masterwork in Eternal. It isnt as simple to do as removing he hearts. (Though that lives as one of my favorite Diablo seasons forever, and Im sad its gone).

Seeing another DLC with locked content and the amount of in-game cosmetics is just the clearest sign of how they are going to operate. Yes I will complain, yes I have a right to and the answer of "this is what it is" is just what the future will be if people keep buying those things. I will at most buy this when it is 50% off minimum.
The point of the pets are to be able to sell more cosmetics. Basically just keep thinking of what else can they sell as cosmetics and battle passes...and how many people are going to gob it up...
The seasonal content isn't a scam, that's pretty normal for this type of game. That being said Diablo IV is still a scam, Diablo 1, 2, and 3 aren't scams, not even Diablo Immortal qualifies as a scam. If I have the physical copy of Diablo 1, 2, or 3, as long as I have the hardware, I can play it 10 years, 20 years from now. I bought something that actually exists in perpetuity. What about Diablo Immortal? There's no upfront cost given to Blizzard to play Diablo Immortal, once the servers are offline it's gone, but you didn't buy entry at the price of a physical copy so it's fine.

I wish they added the base game to the £75 edition. I play through game pass and would purchase the £75 edition if it also gave me the base game to secure my dlc purchase incase game pass ever takes d4 off the library
That's honestly such a good suggestion and a massive value add for the offer.
Alot of other games do similar stuff or they eventually go free to play and have some exclusive gifts for the people who paid full price to make them feel special still and not forgotten about. Gamepass probably grew d4 playerbase more than you think. So would be a smart move on their part to throw in a game that's already getting played through gamepass and it encourages gamepass players to purchase the dlc knowing they won't be robbed of the base game down the line. Win-win.
D4 gets boosts to sales and dlc pre orders and they rake in the money. And they look good doing it (not being greedy). Plus if they gave the people who paid full price cool exclusive cosmetics to make up for the game being thrown into this bundle in a better value for money deal. Like give them a cool mount ect. And a unique skin for each class. I'm sure nobody would complain

The Ultimate edition is a money grab of the levels I haven't seen outside a damn mobile gacha game. Blizzard must be insane to think the majority of people feel like this is a good deal, it's absurd! In Canada, that edition is over $100. All I can say about Blizzard is "fuck 'em" don't pre-order this garbage, let Blizzard prove to you this is worth that insane amount of money (and even then, holy shit)
They really need to localize prices a bit more aggresively, thats damn near ubisoft levels.
Does anyone even play eternal? Everyone I know is fine with the live service updates. If you are forced to buy the expansion to get the new seasons that would be a little scummy though.

WoW isnt an arpg. This is what every arpg does. If this is your first time playing an arpg then allow me to help you understand most season return at some point, not to mention alot of the season content does go to eternal realm. You need to not mislead the public.

Blizzard built the seasonal model, it's part of the package and if you don't like that kind of content, don't play the game. 2. I don't get FOMO; don't let the fact that you do sway objective facts. I buy the battle pass AFTER i max it out if I'm interested in it. I bought the base version of D4. I've been playing Diablo since i was 8 years old (D1 on a win 98 PC) 3. I would argue that if you saw this ad today, and decided to wait a few months to buy it (for whatever reason) you did not get the all additional content they promised, just the last chunk of it. That sounds like a scam to me or a half-truth at best.
@@Fokebus we don’t know that since this is an expansion with a new zone so all the new content will be in that new zone. The only things that will be gone IMO if u wait an x amount are cosmetics since it’s a BP. Remember you’re buying the expansion not the rest of the other seasons.
Man. you are so far out I wonder if you even play the game. The expansion has nothing to do with seasons, never has, never will. You do not pay to play the seasons unless you want the battlepass to earn cosmetics and those stays for ever. The DLC is giving you access to a new area, that's permanent. Give you access to a raid, that's permanent. To a new class, permanent. To a new storyline, that's permanent. Wether you buy dlc on day 1 or 2 years from now, you get exact same content.

This is the only game I play. Been playing it from the beginning. I like it. I liked it when it came out, I like it more now, especially after the expansion. All the constant whining from pro content players should be taken for what it is....whining for clicks. Stop whining about the lack of game content when your objective is to finish the game as fast as possible and then whine about it.
100% agree with having old battle passes moving to eternal realm would actually give a reason for eternal realm aswell. Obviously should still have to buy them

If you like the game play the game and earn the rewards, if you've missed out, its pixels on a screen. play future season and earn that stuff. everyone so entitled these days. Also you cant combine all of the systems in eternal you'd literally break the game, not to mention you wouldn't even be able to play with balance changes every season that make things work the way they do. Yeah, Im dissapointed that they dont carry over older expansions to Eternal Realm.
Though this season I doubt tempered/masterwork items will be completely all reset to base weapons/gear when they transfer over to Eternal. Willing to bet they stay at the spot they were last modded- with no ability to temper/masterwork in Eternal. It isnt as simple to do as removing he hearts.
(Though that lives as one of my favorite Diablo seasons forever, and Im sad its gone).
They just need to start adding some of this stuff to eternal that’s good Poe does a good job at it I mean they don’t keep everything but they do a good job at stuff players like they end up adding who knows it’s only season 4

They release the pre-order while the game is hyped up due to them fixing most of the bad systems they created, before players realize, wait a minute, there is nothing to do, but the expansion releases in a few months so they will be outraged by something else and forget about it
