I've heard the horror stories and I'm not sure I could handle all that work and time getting wiped out by a random disconnection. Is this kind of thing still a huge problem for the hardcore community?
@@jasongood5487 bro, the rewards by far out pay the penalties. The bubble is now the new proc. And as far as lagging and disconnecting, it doesn’t kill you anymore at least I’ve lagged out three or four times and haven’t died in the middle of fights.
FYI, your boss killing variation has points into corpse explosion when you're not using it. Maybe I'm just missing something there, but doesn't seem right =)
This build has been phenomenal for me! I was using a pre-season 1 Bone Spear build, stepped away from the game for S2 and S3. Friends told me that S4 was much more fun to play, but my character was just unplayable at higher levels now. Your build was super easy to mimic, did not rely on crazy gear and is fun to play. It was a little weird learning to play without any way to deal direct damage on my own, but worth it. Thanks!!
I was using maxrolls basic minion build, decided I wanted to make a change and LUCKED into this video! Farmed the gear and went straight into the pit to start leveling it and so far I've gotten to tier 91 and only one piece is at rank 12 all others are between 4-8. SO happy with this build and so glad that I made the switch, thank you!
Saw this, leveled a necro. Kept all my good gear for when it was ready together....went from not being able to complete a 65NM dungeon, one day later after using this build/gear 75+ Pit is cleared with ease. Thanks dude!

On console the golem goes and attacks in the direction you are facing, same as with any targeted ability in general. Works fine most of them time, but if you flick away to move out of something then hit attack you can sometimes waste one.
Love your build with my modification. I subbed Tendrils for Blighted Corpse Explosion. I find that the higher lucky hit chance and spread of the Blight leads to more cooldown ticks. I was killing things so fast that my Bonestorm was having 20 secs left on CD with reduced CD of 39.07. With Blight Corpse Explosion, I'm seeing much better results on the CD dropping faster. Worth a test if you're inclined.
This looks awesome Nick. I actually quit playing my summoner and started a double swing tornado barb because I felt like I had no survivability just standing around trying to dodge the while the golem was being dumb. I like the inclusion of blood mist and it ties things together well. Twister barb has been a blast but I think it’s time I gave my necro a shot again with your build
Thank you very much this build is so far the best i have tried on my necro, cleared pit 100. Problem with other builds is they are too squishy and i think the inner calm for pit is pretty nice boost to the damage as well.

With a little change from your build, I'm currently using Army of the dead, a little paragon respec, and etc. But most of all, it based on your build. I just changed it to be more suitable to my dropped gear and my play style. I can easily clear pit 120 now. Keep up your good work man. SUBBED!!
I beat teir 103 no deaths easy with grandpa mode version. Some tips would be to take 2 points out of blood mist or corpse tendrills i cant remember which one has extra points in it. Just make surr you still have the skill and use those 2 pts and put it into grim harvest passive. You get 6 essence per corpse consumption aka summoning skeletons skill and it lets you spam decrepfify basically infinitely alternating between the two, meaning you get tons of cool down, because decrepfiy hits multiple targets and has a lucky chance for the cool down of skills and basically can have 100% uptime on bonestorm on the higher tiers where things dont die as fast. So when you have a large mob spam the hell out of decrepfiy. I found the best dps possible is to hit the golem skeleton summon and decrepify all at the same time while spamming corpse tendrill. I have the 3 skills on my x y and a buttons on xbox for easy 1 finger pressing of all 3 and corpse tendrill as left trigger. When you do this vs a boss the dps is amazing. Also works on mobs but you wont get as many decrepifies in to make the cool down on bonestorm 0 because you kill things too fast lol just some tips I've found. Ive beat all tormented bosses with this and tier 100s and up easy with this build. Thanks for the guidance nick

Nice build. I'm using Aspect of Plunging Darkness on weapon and using Bone Prison + Blight combo for more shadow sources, damage (20%[x] from blight passive), vulnerable and cdr (from bone prison)

Thoughts on replacing the Scourge glyph one for one with Corporeal? It's effectively the same 10% multiplier for golem damage (but not mages or warriors in this build) as well as some additive damage and armor from the bonus to magic nodes. But the real reason I like it is the 12% movement speed which is really nice because as a necro we're kinda slow to move around and really dependent on movement speed to clear quickly. Maybe just as a farming tech?
I'm having fun with this build, but I have questions: 1. if i get the Harlequin, what do i have to change to keep the build as perfect as possible? 2. does it help to have ‘direct damage’ on an item, or does that only affect me and not my minions? greetings from Germany :)

instead of the tendrils aspect, i strongly suggest you try out the blood one making blood mist leave desecrated trail ground, with the dmg scaling and the low cd, it absolutely melts everything on its way. I was pushing tier 84 and struggled on a boss, changed it and melted any other boss encounter within 5 seconds up to 90 so far.

Hi Nick, you only need 2 points on the Basic-skill part of the tree to unlock Core-skills so you have 1 extra to drop somewhere else. Will be trying your build, thanks for the new ideas.
You need a combine of 6 from basic and core....he just slap a random point into basic...most people go for the 3 essence passive but honestly makes no difference
Grasping veins? You have cap crit chance so the + (x) crit damage boost is nutty, plus you could give up a couple critical chance rolls since it gives 25% crit chance when you cast tendrils. People were under the impression it didn’t work for minions. It’s been retested as of two days ago and now works wonderfully. It ends up adding like 35ish% total damage (and would free up a couple crit chance rolls)
@@NickTew however the crit chance still works for minions so could be worth it to use instead of inner calm so you can spec into crit dmg/int/max life affixes instead of crit chance

Army of the Dead and bone storm are kinda interchangeable. Army gives more damage, bone storm gives more survivability. It's easy to swap between the two if you prefer. I haven't looked at the maxroll one so I'm unsure what else they are using, but most people pushing pit 115+ are using a setup extremely similar to mine if not the same. Some use mages instead of golem but it's the exact same principle
I followed this build exactly. With the paragons, skill points, aspects and item rolls. Why is you max life and intelligence so high😢 my intelligence is only at 1000. And my max like is 19

Average player here. I wasn't getting cooldown affixes on any drops / rerolls, so I couldn't utilize the build as seen. Cooldown on bone shield was constantly up. Cooldown on golem was 25% as good as seen here, so I didn't have the offense / defense needed. Dropped: Inner Calm, Shielding Storm, Ultimate Shadow, ring, pants, and 3 points in bone storm. Added Temerity, Sacrilegious ring, 3 points to blighted corpse explosion, Explosive Mist, and Undying. No more skills with long cooldowns. Run into pack, decrep, golem, blood mist, sac ring casts tendrils, buffs / heals me and minions, and casts blighted CE as is blood mist. Casting heals and adds barrier. Decrep again, manually cast tendrils, golem, CE. Pack is dead and all cooldowns have cleared to rinse and repeat. Similar on bosses. 11k armor 28k HP. Only to Pit 59 and hope to get the gear you have, but for now, this works great.

yo i can't not write this. your masterwork hit the hellbent on the amulet and the golem on the chest. why aren't you are masterwork 9 on both? it will go to +4, i am pretty sure about that
Damage isn’t really the issue with this build, blood mist is more of a get out of jail free card. The bossing variant can still one shot Ubers while still utilizing blood mist
Hey Nick, given bone storm does shadow damage, therefore all our minions do shadow dmg, how come we don’t put any points into the shadow dmg aspect tree (gloom, etc)
Curious why you didn’t put the aspect of grasping veins in that last slot for the 50%x crit damage? Also did you consider going down the blighted bone prison path? Extra source of vulnerable and shadow damage dots plus a 20% damage boost. Would need to give up blood mist though!
@@Kevincole87 it only applies to damage dealt by your skills, and I don’t think that includes your golem’s active damage. Not sure about whether it would boost army of the dead though

Hi can we put a harlequin crest in this build, and how is this build in contrast to the normal shadow minnion build or standard build that everyone plays. Stronger or weaker? Could you also use it to kill Tormented bosses?

There's a few things in the Mobalytics guide that are different from the video, e.g. armor on pants in the video but not the guide - wanna make sure to follow the proper guide if I'm gonna re-gear for this. So why not use conceited aspect in stead of inner calm. I mean you have barrier up pretty much all the time because of the bone storm so you would have a constant 25% damage increase instead of standing there for three seconds to get 30% unless it’s just that tank enough to be able to do it just wondering.
tried a couple necro builds , gotta say this build is the only one that makes sense while you play and doesnt feel like holy bolt simulation, extremely good with bricked gear no ga easy 60 pit.
This is great, but I'm not getting the cooldown proc from skeletal reaper when I select carve instead of the cooldown option. Can anyone confirm? I'm on xbox. maybe it's only bugged on PC.
What would you cap your crit damage at for this build? Both of my rings proc'ed crit chance and max life and i just so happened to roll almost perfect crit damage.
You say you have trouble that your minions die and you have extra slots for legendary aspects. You can work in "hardened bones". You would need to swap around your aspects a little, e.g. Blighted to weapon.
I ran Blood Surge + minions to 100 this season but I've hit a bit of a brick wall in the Pit. Nightmare Dungeons are still perfectly doable to the high 60s at least but the massive health and damage of Pit bosses even in the low 30s is very annoying. Even with the Ring of Medeln to boost my skeletons I feel like 'I'm flicking matches at Pit bosses and they've started to crap out massively damaging floor death traps. Even the Pit normal monsters take multiple Blood Surges to kill and that's with 26k damage. I guess I need more multipliers to do enough damage but I'd probably have to completely redo my build and gear to progress much farther and I'm not sure I can be bothered.
Are there major differences between this and Chronikz Shadow Minion build? Outside of running Bloodmist instead of running blight? And I guess you dropped Hulking for Aphotic since your CDR is insane anyway?
That does appear to be the main difference, i'd never run a minion build without using Aphotic. I also don't really like using Blight instead of blood mist, I enjoy having the immunity with such a low CD but blight is better for raw damage. Damage to cursed tempering is quite smart as it applies for all minions but realistically not a huge damage difference there.
I am not very good at theory crafting but with the attack speed of bone storm, wouldnt it be easy to proc stagger on the boss? How could we apply that?
Which aspect would you suggest swapping out if someone wanted to squeeze a shako into this build without losing the ability to push? Just straight remove Shielding Storm? Asking for a friend 😉

Please update your guide's notes. In there you mentioned to use " Elixir of Protection 2" which doesn't exist.

Only two pieces of my gear have a GA affix on them as well. Can't wait to find better rolls and more GA's to really see what this build can do.
My gear is hilariously bad lol 100+ is insanely easy on Necro surprisingly

Nick ultimate shadow makes bonestorm a darkness skill and it will proc those passives including gloom which is great for more dps.

I haven't looked at the maxroll one so I'm unsure what else they are using, but most people pushing pit 115+ are using a setup extremely similar to mine if not the same. Some use mages instead of golem but it's the exact same principle
@@NickTew Its very similar but theyre using skeletal Mage buffs. I will try your build, as it looks very comfortable! But maybe im Just a big noob :D
You could drop inner calm and keep occult dominion if you run harlequin crest. You have to rearrange enchants to different pieces but it is possible.
I followed this build exactly. With the paragons, skill points, aspects and item rolls. Why is you max life and intelligence so high😢 my intelligence is only at 1000. And my max like is 19

Average player here. I wasn't getting cooldown affixes on any drops / rerolls, so I couldn't utilize the build as seen. Cooldown on bone shield was constantly up. Cooldown on golem was 25% as good as seen here, so I didn't have the offense / defense needed. Dropped: Inner Calm, Shielding Storm, Ultimate Shadow, ring, pants, and 3 points in bone storm. Added Temerity, Sacrilegious ring, 3 points to blighted corpse explosion, Explosive Mist, and Undying. No more skills with long cooldowns. Run into pack, decrep, golem, blood mist, sac ring casts tendrils, buffs / heals me and minions, and casts blighted CE as is blood mist. Casting heals and adds barrier. Decrep again, manually cast tendrils, golem, CE. Pack is dead and all cooldowns have cleared to rinse and repeat. Similar on bosses. 11k armor 28k HP. Only to Pit 59 and hope to get the gear you have, but for now, this works great.

You can also use Temerity which gives you army of the dead. But it's trickier. Anything that charges you you'll have to dodge. More damage though.
why is the aspect of decay not being used in the focus? seems to be a smart choice to add additional shadowblight damage instead of inner calm.
Im Level 80 currently using this build and I can’t really get decent cooldown reduction on bonestorm, will having more attack speed help with this
yo i can't not write this. your masterwork hit the hellbent on the amulet and the golem on the chest. why aren't you are masterwork 9 on both? it will go to +4, i am pretty sure about that
Bone prison instead of blood mist with bone prison aspect where it spawns pool if blight - massive damage increase with points in blight
Damage isn’t really the issue with this build, blood mist is more of a get out of jail free card. The bossing variant can still one shot Ubers while still utilizing blood mist
Might consider Conceited instead of Inner Calm for a 25% damage bonus since you basically always have a barrier with full Bone Storm uptime
Damage with barrier doesn't affect minions, they won't have a barrier

Hey Nick, given bone storm does shadow damage, therefore all our minions do shadow dmg, how come we don’t put any points into the shadow dmg aspect tree (gloom, etc)

Curious why you didn’t put the aspect of grasping veins in that last slot for the 50%x crit damage?
Also did you consider going down the blighted bone prison path? Extra source of vulnerable and shadow damage dots plus a 20% damage boost. Would need to give up blood mist though!
would edge masters work there too?
@@Kevincole87 it only applies to damage dealt by your skills, and I don’t think that includes your golem’s active damage. Not sure about whether it would boost army of the dead though
I love your builds and videos~ can you do a non minion bone spear or blood lance build this season? I know they aren't the top tiers right now due to how strong minions are.
Hi can we put a harlequin crest in this build, and how is this build in contrast to the normal shadow minnion build or standard build that everyone plays. Stronger or weaker? Could you also use it to kill Tormented bosses?
@NickTew are we meant to follow Mobalytics or the video when they're different? There's a few things in the Mobalytics guide that are different from the video, e.g. armor on pants in the video but not the guide - wanna make sure to follow the proper guide if I'm gonna re-gear for this. Thanks for the video and the guide - just hoping to get some clarity before i gear up again from MaxRoll Minion build.
Always follow the site guide as it's a bit more min-maxed than my gear in game.

Is there a decent end game blood/minion build? I am loving versions of this build but hubby is liking the blood version
So why not use conceited aspect in stead of inner calm. I mean you have barrier up pretty much all the time because of the bone storm so you would have a constant 25% damage increase instead of standing there for three seconds to get 30% unless it’s just that tank enough to be able to do it just wondering.
Tested it and it doesn't seem to work for minions but I could be wrong
I prefer Army on Amulette and blight on a 2h. Way bigger hits. And with explosion on mist cooldown is also better.
tried a couple necro builds , gotta say this build is the only one that makes sense while you play and doesnt feel like holy bolt simulation, extremely good with bricked gear no ga easy 60 pit.

This is great, but I'm not getting the cooldown proc from skeletal reaper when I select carve instead of the cooldown option. Can anyone confirm? I'm on xbox. maybe it's only bugged on PC.

Can add in harlequin but you sacrifice some damage for survivability, which is more of a preference thing.
What would you cap your crit damage at for this build? Both of my rings proc'ed crit chance and max life and i just so happened to roll almost perfect crit damage.
You say you have trouble that your minions die and you have extra slots for legendary aspects. You can work in "hardened bones". You would need to swap around your aspects a little, e.g. Blighted to weapon.
I ran Blood Surge + minions to 100 this season but I've hit a bit of a brick wall in the Pit. Nightmare Dungeons are still perfectly doable to the high 60s at least but the massive health and damage of Pit bosses even in the low 30s is very annoying. Even with the Ring of Medeln to boost my skeletons I feel like 'I'm flicking matches at Pit bosses and they've started to crap out massively damaging floor death traps. Even the Pit normal monsters take multiple Blood Surges to kill and that's with 26k damage. I guess I need more multipliers to do enough damage but I'd probably have to completely redo my build and gear to progress much farther and I'm not sure I can be bothered.
Are there major differences between this and Chronikz Shadow Minion build? Outside of running Bloodmist instead of running blight? And I guess you dropped Hulking for Aphotic since your CDR is insane anyway?
That does appear to be the main difference, i'd never run a minion build without using Aphotic. I also don't really like using Blight instead of blood mist, I enjoy having the immunity with such a low CD but blight is better for raw damage. Damage to cursed tempering is quite smart as it applies for all minions but realistically not a huge damage difference there.
So I want to use shako. Would the extra mages/skele aspect be the one I drop?

I am not very good at theory crafting but with the attack speed of bone storm, wouldnt it be easy to proc stagger on the boss? How could we apply that?
Which aspect would you suggest swapping out if someone wanted to squeeze a shako into this build without losing the ability to push? Just straight remove Shielding Storm? Asking for a friend 😉
