    Nice, i bought the drill driver kit that came the xdt16 driver. The drill was the drill/hammer combo (overkill for my needs). Got them on sale then had a 10% off so it was worth it.

    Nice kit. Makita has Christmas deals on their top of the line xtd16 and their brand new hammer drill 18v get a free bare tool. I actually bought that kit back in the spring of 21 got a free grinder and only paid $247. But the sub compact tools will be perfect for a work shop builder and cabinet maker like your self. Hope they hold out

    Assist mode...good for sheet metal work

    Yeah it's no secret the CXS/TXS needs a refresh. The Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Bosch multi-head install drivers can all sink those deck screws in high speed. To be fair you should compare to the C18 or T18. I say sell that CXS and enjoy them subcompact kitas.

    Got rid of my DeWalt Atomic and went with Makita Sub Compact. WOW! a lot better. Getting rid of my DeWalt stuff.

    Hey Robert…how are you still liking the Makita subcompacts? I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on these as I like my compacts from Makita so much. These would probably end up replacing some of my older DeWalt 18v drill/impacts.

    • @DaileyWoodworks
      @DaileyWoodworks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love the size and weight. The impact is ok, but with only two speeds one is too slow, the other is too high and breaks Kreg screws.
      The drill is almost perfect. It's the only drill I need on a job site. It will handle a 2 1/8" hole saw, and can dial it down for delicate hardware. I am starting to have trouble with the chuck, however.
      While it essentially replaced my CXS it doesn't quite have the control.
      I just ordered a C18 and TID again....I like the control of the Festool impact much better than the sub-compact. I'm sure the Makita Premium Impact would be on par with it, however.

    Hey will that drill go through concrete or the side of a house that has something harder than wood?

      @DaileyWoodworks  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No it’s not a hammer drill.

    Hi how are you does that makita impact driver does it work in cemenct ?

    • @DaileyWoodworks
      @DaileyWoodworks  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The more I used I the less impressed I was with the impact. It's comfortable in the hand but has poor control and a lot of vibration.
      I do like the driver for small tasks though

    With Drill bits coming in 1/4 hex form allowing the impact to put holes into material, is there really a purpose for the subcompact drill driver?

    • @DaileyWoodworks
      @DaileyWoodworks  ปีที่แล้ว

      You have a lot more control with the drill/driver. This is a big deal for hardware screws and pocket screws. I have a hard time controlling this impact driver and kept breaking pocket screws with it.
      With the drill you set the clutch properly and it prevents over driving.

      @@DaileyWoodworks Did you ever consider M12 line up? Wondering how you are liking the subcompact 1 year after this video was made.
      I currently have both the latest M12 impact driver and hammer drill, but I also picked up the subcompact for small projects around the home. The only reason why I shyed away from the M12 was because how uncomfortable it is in my hand.But the lack of a quick bit change on the SubComp Makita realllllyyy sucks to be frank. But damn are the grips comfortable.

    • @DaileyWoodworks
      @DaileyWoodworks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ChrisBranleh I didn't want another battery platform. But the M12 line is really great. My FIL has it and the grip size is growing on me.
      I'd love for Makita to really "Double Down" on the subcompact line. I think it would be a great niche for them, but it seems they're going all-in on the new 40v line

    Right now I only have one battery platform. I'd like to keep it that way. I'm not sure it's possible with all the choices.

    • @DaileyWoodworks
      @DaileyWoodworks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I looked down and saw I personally had 4 different battery platforms. That’s just too many for marginal differences.
      Brand A may have the best circ saw while brand B has the best drill. But in reality if you stick to a pro level brand those minor differences aren’t going to affect day to day use.
      My advice is find the pro level brand with the specialty tools you want. For me it was the Makita tracksaw that has me choosing Makita.
      I’ve also got a few Ridgid tools left that I’m in no rush to get rid of or upgrade especially with how little I use those specific tools.
      Im loving these light little drills though!
