This was my irl tank I was the driver for my entire career. BTW the back bussel rack were the bags are in the game is the most comfortable place to sleep on the tank in the summer. The "bitch plate" as we called it is my recommendation for winter.
Back in 1992 I was over in Korea doing maneuvers. One of the Abrams lost a track skirt somewhere in a rice paddy and they shut everything down to find it. I can't imagine the shitstorm if a piece of that ERA ended up somewhere unintended. 🤣

@@IowanLawman I could have slept in my vehicle I just didn't want to my crew suffered so I suffered plus I've been on missions with scouts and I respectfully say sleeping on a tank is 10x better...flat surfaces, I don't feel like I'm sliding down the ramp all night. Plus last time I was hoed out to the scouts I had to sleep full battle, then the dummy crew inside fell asleep DURING a "firefight". Yeah I got "God gunned" after by the range control. Then next mission they saw a small force of Infantry and a tank and they RAN AWAY. So I'll finish with this "Best f***ing job I ever had" was a tanker.

@@zeffy._440 lol they modeled it after the sweedish export version with no DU plates they still havent added the du plates to the m1a2 or m1a1HC the sep recieved 3rd generation du plates its turret side armor is missing 100m of ke protection supposed to stop 480mm ke at 30 degrees sep also used m829a3 m829a2 was unable to pen the abarms frontally the upper front plate is 50mm not 38mm arat m19 adds 33% ke protection which would be 40-60mm and CE wise was designed to stop rpg the versions most commonly faced had 300-600mm of pen i can continue this list but you should get the point m829a2 was tried vs kontact 5 and was able to penetrate t72 upper plate with ease and m829a3 should be able to pen relikt looking at IRL incidents with american abrams they have one of the best combat records export variants cant really be used as a actual testimate because they are missing american FCS and composite armor including DU and even the export versions do better than any russian tank fielded cope harder
@@colejones594 iirc it did receive DU plates 3rd gen was on later SEP variants. That 480mm sounds like cap especially since DU plates although dense are not the "best" armour arrangement against KE or CE if it were everyone would use it nevermind the fact that DU penetrators would render DU plates on equal terms density wise.
The SEP V3 does use A3 rounds in addition the plate is 38mm not 50mm and it's very well known that all modern KE projectiles will go through that UFP, in to the turret traversal system and in to the fighting compartment since it lacks composite materials.
A2 penetrating K5 has not been reliably documented most data on how those penetrators perform and the details are classified if you want to take the manufacturers word for it then go for it other than that there isn't much evidence.
The US has lost quite a few Abrams during their service they do not have a good combat record when they are used to fight against insurgents using RPG-7's which cannot penetrate a modern day tank frontally.
So far all of your points are simply untrue and is based off what you wish the Abrams was the US military and it's equipment is quite frankly is a joke especially after it ran with it's tail between it's legs in Afghanistan and it's installed puppet government collapsed in days Russia's government meanwhile lasted for about a decade.

It's so sad we can't have anything remotely like a proper abrams. Took them 4 years to "fix" the UFP on the abrams and it still doesn't work quite right.
The SEP deserves it's proper DU armor and round.
the SEP also gets an APS system. the SEP and regular m1a2 should get the M829A4 and the sep should get the 3rd gen DU plates
also would be nice to get the proper penetrators that defeat ERA on the M829s
@@jtl05 I do believe the SEP should also have DU in the frontal plate along with better optics for the main gun. But the APS system didn’t come until later models like the SEP v2
@@jtl05 Trophy Hardkill APS is for SEP v3 and SEP v2... M829A4 is for SEP v3 iirc since it is programmable ammo.

@@iiiiil4552 it ignites when hit but doesn't explode AFAIK. Also it has anti-era penetrator so should easily penetrate russian armor.
@@iiiiil4552 yes, penetrator is the same for 105mm and 120mm but since there's a difference in sabot mass and velocity I wouldn't expect as much from 105mm DM63. Anti-era capability is still there but in decresed margin.

Imo the M1A2 and the M1A2 SEP both need an Armor buff because there is no diffrance between the M1A2 and the M1A1. I would buff the turret and the hull front from 400 to 550-560mm of protection. Abrams needs an armor buff
I assume you mean the hull armor has no difference between the A2 and A1, which is correct. The A2 should have improved hull armor over the A1, and the SEP should have better hull and turret armor over the regular A2.
Oh course they wouldn’t give the sep the DU upgrade, they can’t let the abrams get somewhat near what its actually like. Literally from the M1A1 HC and up should have the DU but aight.

@@Texas_Engineer_Mike yeah, turret, the place most others won’t shoot at unless they know it isn’t an AIM, HC, A2 or Sep. otherwise, they just aim for the turret ring (which should be more armored as well but whatever.) or the lower plate.
Looking forward to getting and playing this, I expected that it wouldn't bring too much but I do hope future SEP variants get their correct ammo and gear they have so that they stand out from each other.

M1a2 sep* is what the title should be, whilst the m1a2 itself is technically a sep, most people would interpret it has sepv1-3 which it doesn’t meet the requirement for those.
In short, they just gave us an m1a2 with tusk, not a sep.
So basically they could have just made the SEP and TUSK package an upgrade module for the M1A2 that’s already on the tech tree.
Do all that grinding for better thermals 🤦♂️. You’d think gaijin would at least give it the correct armour or something

It needs it scouting and drone taken away. And it's APHE. It's not a light tank irl so I don't know why they made it one in game.
The UFP has some kind of anti spall stuff. Shot straight through into the engine right besides the gunner. He turned yellow.
the arat era was originally designed to give protection against ieds and atgms or rpgs and the tusk package stands for tank urban survival kit that’s the reason the era isn’t very good against apfsds
It has 33% incresed KE protection so should be around 40-60mm ke protection not 20

@@randy0210 there is no solid data about m19 as it was designed to stop anti tank weapons from the side rpg hs 300-600+ mm pf pen m19 is 2 era tiles with 2 plates and are rated to stop 12.7mm fire 36mm of pen only high energy impacts will set it off era when detonated will send the plates flying the explosion will change the trajectory of rounds and explosions that impact it and the playes will cause parts of a dart to snap off further degrading penetration its no along the levels of kontact 5 but it should stop more than 20mm KE and for a source was posted in one of the warthunder forums disscusing its KE protection he posted a manual page and im not about to go through 1000s of comments to try and prove something to a guy on youtube hell with 40-60mm of protection still wont help vs KE rounds accept smaller calibers like 30mm the big selling point is the 300-600CE protection but still wont stop the kornet till we get tusk2 with m32 era on-top of the m19 rendering tandem missiles useless

The new russian premiums is going to be sooo broken.. Basically a puma with begleit fire rate, 230mm pen and gen2 thermals at 9.7...when the begleit and puma are 9.3..ridiculous
Well the puma and bagel are fine at 9.3. Its just 2s38 definitely needs 10.3 minimum.

the 2s38 is actually quite intresting, there are guided 57mm HE-VT shells in development for it.

I think the 9.7 BR suits it very well in all honesty. It's a watered down HSTVL which is 10.0

The thing is if you remove task modification you also loose smoke launchers. i am realy suprised not even single content creator or you mentioned this bullshit situation. So basicaly you have to use task mod. Smoke is so important at top tier meta
Has to be a bug, as you can see the model changes but still has the smoke launchers.

they have gen 2 commander thermals, which has put them above the Abrams for the last few years, in regards to gen 2 gunner thermals, well no luck mate, you won't get them until the 2A7V (straight to gen 3 gunner thermals), as from my understanding the 2A7 will only get gen 3 commander sights, so in regards to it being funny, there is nothing anyone can do about it, the Leopard apparently didn't get better thermals until its latest variant.

It brings nothing to the table really. It's still weak-sauce when compared to it's stable-mates in the German/Russian tech trees. The ERA still doesn't work on anything that isn't Russian. And on top of it the new Russian 2S238 or whatever was absolute CANCER last night! It could clean up in 11.0 and higher but yeah, Gaijin will never uptier it to where it needs to be. It's second only to the super-cancerous BMP-2M which is just a horrible thing to do to your fellow human being. Thanks for nothing Gaijin. Keep up the games with Yedidya, they're just a lot of fun to watch!
