If you're new to this case: don't compete/fight over anyone. Ever. They mistreat you, you move on.

Sarah would've turned 32 last year ... She would've had a life, maybe a family, a career. She, as an only child (like me), could've had grandchildren that her parents will never know now. It is absolutely horrific that a teen boy, a flash in the pan in her romantic life, resulted in her senseless murder. No boy is worth this... Ever. 💔

Man... I fell "in love" with a 16 year old when I was 15. He was the type to always come back to me between "girlfriends," and he absolutely *loved* watching girl's catfight over him. Guys like that get off on it. 🤬 Funnily enough, he did fall in love with me, after years of praying he would. But God answered my prayers unexpectedly... I found my husband and broke up my first love for good. Best thing that ever happened to me.

That guy wasn't anything... I can't believe I've actually known girls like this, happily taking leftovers and being *obsessed* with some trash guy who couldn't care less about them. How horribly tragic it went this deadly far. 💔

That boy was such a loser and I doubt he’s much better now! We gotta raise girls to STOP falling for these boys who don’t give a F about you, have nothing and will never be anything. I had an awful toxic relationship in my late teens early 20s that could have ended like this, I fought so many girls over him and he wasn’t and isn’t anything special, quite the opposite.

  • @rebeccahartmann9083
    @rebeccahartmann9083 ปีที่แล้ว +9

this is trauma bonding and a definite example of narcissistic relationships at its saddest outcome. soo sad and I feel for all families involved. worst of all is the boy who got to go on and do it again and again to other girls. when do we start holding the men who string these girls along, accountable for their actions in this?

This has nothing to do with the case, but just that I’m only 11 mins in and you have struck 2 of my heartstrings…. 1 you specified that a couple without children is still a family… (I’m married and childless and it’s often that we are made to feel less of a family because of this) and 2 you mentioned your childhood love for JTT and Devon Sawa and being born in 1984 I can fully agree with that. You are just so relatable and I love your channel. ❤

Honestly, I do think she had the intention to murder but realized immediately after how bad of a choice that was in an honest remorseful way. End of the day, when someone learns their partner isn’t faithful, just leave them. None of its worth even fighting about. He really is the POS of the story.

This might sound crazy, but when I’m really anxious and need to calm down I listen to you. You have no idea how much you’ve been through with me in the past year. Left my husband in April because I couldn’t take it anymore, had hip replacement surgery in December and still recovering. I can’t do anything but rest right now. I’ve been a brat packer for years and I’m so thankful for you!! I also have a case suggestion for you. Check out Judith Ann Neeley in Alabama. It’s a way too close to home case for me. Rachael made a threat on Sarah's life, so I think she should have been charged with 1st degree murder. Whether you make a threat on someone's life 5 months, 5 weeks or 5 minutes before you take their life, that is pre-medidated murder in my opinion.

That "little girl" knew exactly what she was doing. It could have just been a fist fight or maybe even less but as was said multiple times, it takes real force to stab someone in the heart and then she literally got into a fist fight right after with the other girl and didn't pull the knife on her. Whether she rushed the van or not she was the only one with a weapon and used it very directly and on the one person she had threatened to stabor murder SEVERAL times before. This wasn't self defense. That being said, you should check out the case of "El" Monteviajitas (I think I spelled that right) Mexico's granny killer. That one is interesting

You know what burns me big time? That Josh will now have a story to tell how a girl killed someone’s for him! You know he’s saying that because the type of guy loves control, and their weapon is triangulation, which is what he did to all of those girls he was involved with. That’s insult to injury!

Hi Brittany and family (including that gorgeous little boy of yours with the lil ducky face 😂).
I like many who are obsessed with true crime have seen this case covered before. However. And that's a LARGE HOWEVER - I haven't seen it covered by The Bratters... and here you are, therefore, here I am!
It always baffles me why women fight between themselves over a "man" (e x t r e m e l o o s e definition of the word) who is playing them against each other and obviously cares not a jot about either of them. These situations could and sometimes do end up with the playees joining forces and becoming friends and kicking the player to the curb.
This one is particularly awful because likely neither of them would've even remembered the player's name before a couple of years had passed but now endless people's lives are ruined.
Anyway. Thanks Brittany for all you do. Podcast! Podcast! Podcast!
Love to all from Kerry in England ♥

Man it’s hard because people do change especially as they get older 25 year old Sara and 35 year old Sara are different people but also the same. I don’t think it was self defense. Maybe she didn’t mean for Sarah to die but she DEFINITELY meant to stab her. So I feel like the sentence she got was better than nothing. But I’m 35 years old and I have a 2 year old daughter. I want to have atleast one other child but I also don’t ever want to be pregnant again. Especially since I am 35 years old she may very well be my only child and if ANYONE ever took her from me I can’t promise that I wouldn’t hurt them myself no matter who they were.
Thursday I went to my 14 year old nephews basketball game. The People who refereeing the game did not call any fouls on the other team and I know that is often a common complaint but I’ll watch the boy push my nephew around constantly and when my nephew played back he got in trouble. And he wasn’t doing anything outside of how people normally play basketball some of them were fouls but most of his we’re not fouls and the other kid his were more fouls than not. I literally watched this kid purposely trip my nephew and push him at the same time. ( some people are called mama bear and before I was a mama bear I was a auntie bear. This boy was my first child in our family that lives in the state. He fiercely protects the people he loves and I am included in that and so we fiercely protect him. ) I HIGHLY considered “accidentally stepping on that kids toes” somehow. I restrained myself but I really wanted too. I am a gentle and passive person by nature. When it comes to the people I love I will be the scariest person you’ve ever met. I couldn’t imagine how these poor parents feel. My heart is so broken for them. I pray that they have found healing in some way.

Remember first learning about the case watching the court proceedings on tv (forget if it was when it happened or 2-3 years later but was still in High School). Their town was only 6 hrs and 49 minutes away from my small hometown near Pensacola. Was born in 1995 so was few years younger than them and was 13 turning 14 when it happened and was 15 during the trial July-September 2010. Always thought both girls could’ve done better was like he was who y’all were fightin over? This was like a Soap Opera where the girls fight over a guy even in Passions I believe both Gwen and Theresa stabbed each other (though I believe Theresa had post Partum as her character had just given birth). The guy was smug as shit during the trial he seemed to not even care that one of his girlfriends killed the other over the 2 girls fighting each other instead of teaming up and fighting him. This case has always been sad with the girls just a couple years older than me in the same State (though opposite side was closer to Alabama border). Crazy how they were older than me but now both of them at the time of the events is younger than I am now. I thought both girls were way too pretty for him and wish they could’ve seen that they could’ve done better and find a cute guy and one who will not be in other relationships (unless it’s mutually agreed upon).

I would say sentence her to manslaughter. They were going back and forth like teens do trying to prove one meant more to Josh than the other. I think Sarah pulled up ready to fight. I do believe Rachel meant to stab Sarah however I believe it was in retaliation from the bickering amongst both of them. She sat smirking thinking she’d won the fight not killed her. It was messed up all over someone who could careless about either one of them.

I think she was guilty of exactly what she was charged with. I dont believe she grabbed the knife with the sole intention of killing her, but i do believe when the fight was going down, that's exactly what she meant to do. She got that knife with the intention of stabbing her. I think it was a heat of the moment deal, and at the time she was in such a frenzy that she wanted her dead. Im glad to hear that she is working woth kids on cyber bullying. I hope she has learned a lesson!

If she was scared WHY did she call Sarah and make threats? If Sarah was attacking her than why did Sarah barely make it out of the van? You can’t swing on someone and connect your hand to their body if you aren’t even near them. It doesn’t make sense.

Not self-defense is my take. There’s too much evidence that she planned this murder.

Btw, I don't understand revenge killing. Outside of it being evil and wrong, why would you wanna make yourself into the bad guy and your enemy into the victim? Plus, you'll probably go to jail. Maybe she wasn't thinking straight. Hopefully she's changed, but Sarah will never get that chance. I just hope she's at peace and still comforting her family from beyond.

As soon as you said a teenage girl killed another teenage girl I knew the reason would be a boy. It's so sad no male is worth fighting over let alone killing for.

I don’t think Rachel got enough time for what she did , it was obvious that she had decided that killing sarah was an option that she would take advantage of if the situation had arisen.
Btw I have 2 cats myself, and I absolutely adore ur kitty cat in the background, I swear he/she is a big reason to tune in so ur show ..
