Kelly’s mom, Diana was my best friend growing up. I can tell you that losing her daughter destroyed her. She was never able to move on. After the murder, Kenzie and Damien acted innocent and pretended to be there for Diana. Both deserved to rot in prison. It was definitely premeditated. Diana told me that Kelly hated going to the place that they took her. A makeshift grave was already dug. Diana is no longer with us.
As a parent that lost her only child to murder at the age of 19 I definitely feel her mother’s pain. There’s no greater pain. This year in November will be 3 years and still no justice. This was a heartbreaking story especially since 1 of my son’s closests friend is now hanging out with his suspected killer. He was a stranger to my son and I can’t help but wonder if he was somehow involved. It’s so hard raising children these days because after a certain age it becomes harder to protect them from the evil that’s in this world. I don’t think he should’ve been released from jail. I guarantee you when she begged for her life that he was the one she looked to for sympathy. This is a sad effing world💔

I grew up in a small rural Oregon town like 2,000 people. My high school maybe had 250 people in it total. We technically had clicks but everyone hung out with everyone because a lot of us grew up together and normally even if we didn’t all hang out with each other we all were still alright with each other and we would interact with each other. We had jocks and skaters but like at my school sometimes you were both or more than 2 haha

The difference between track and cross country is in track, you run around the track, that's usually at the school. Cross country is when you run a pre-determined trail of sorts, in a local park or anywhere that's grassy, usually with a few trees. Sometimes up & down hills too. There ya go darlin. They usually try to get proof even with a confession. So many people retract the confession so it gives them a heads up but like the gun , the other person also confessing or talking about it with others, knowledge of the crime that’s not common. They want a conviction so they just want to cover all the bases.

Cross country runners run through trails and woods and generally compete in 2 mile, 5k, and 10k distances. Track events are on a track and incorporate sprints, hurdles, relays, distance runs up to 2 miles and field events (pole vault, triple jump etc).😊
This case is so heartbreaking. I always think it's such a betrayal when someone is killed by a person they knew and trusted. I don't think either one of these perpetrators should be out walking the streets, it definitely seems like they both planned this, there's no way it was a prank gone wrong, you don't dig a grave for a prank. San Bernardino born and raised. This story reminded me of one that happened out here around the same time.. A girl named Christy McKendall. I ended up finding out that my husband skated with her little brother and knew her. Please cover this story. It was something that shook us all as teenagers
I don't think this was planned as "joke" because Damien took a loaded gun with him AND he had the gun in his hand because he didn't choose to leave it in the car. I've never heard of 1 trial-2 juries. I'll have to do some research. Kenzie admitted to shooting Kelly so I believe she deserved more prison time. I'm surprised Damien's 1st jury was deadlocked. I wonder why? I would love to know about the history of jury selection. I was an outsider in high school, too. In fact, I sometimes feel I still am. 😉 Teens are so impressionable & so hopeful. Kelly, Damien & Kenzie did not have healthy friendships at all. I did learn today that members of the Coast Guard travel. Good job, as always. Oh, I think I know where the video changed. I agree. This was definitely never meant to be a prank. One trial, two juries is relatively rare now. It was more frequently used in the times of the wild, wild west. I may be wrong, but I think most states have abandoned the practice.

I’d LOVE for you to do a story on a friend of mine who went missing in high school. Megan McDonald from Middletown NY. She’s the daughter of a detective and finally a month or so ago an arrest was made regarding her murder. It’s a crazy case with literally no media attention

Recommendation: You should consider doing a video on Sara Anne Wood. The 30th anniversary was two days ago. Hers was the first missing poster that really grabbed me, and I have been drawn to her case ever since. Her posters were everywhere, not just on the Toys R Us wall of lost children. I couldn't stop thinking of her from Sept 1993 when I first saw a poster to shortly after they found her killer in winter 1994. The Sign became popular around that time. And hers was the sign (poster) I SAW (initials) that opened up my eyes to the world of missing children. So that song took on a darker meaning for me at the time. I was 10 and close in age to Sara. She's never been found, and it bothers me. They did a special for the anniversary, but I don't feel her case gets much in depth coverage. Maybe I'm wrong. But I would recommend looking into it. I also was drawn to Holly Piirainen who was kidnapped that same month, two states away in MA. She was 10 like I was. I'm in Maine. Sara lived in NY. And there was a little girl named Jeanna North who was never found, though her killer was. Just like Sara. Sara's parents tried to bring awareness to Jeanna's case too.

Ps- we all (the locals) signed every petition to keep him in, and i was grateful for newsome, but eventually his release was bound to happen. I posted updated pics of him and told everyone to keep an eye out! That way they aren’t making a new friend, and end up in reche canyon… things aren’t as smooth as they seemed in high school, Damien. This is the really real world! I hope he has the hardest time being anxious, because he’s so institutionalized that he can’t function out here. I used to dye my hair that color to look like tori also!! Everyone that knew her says she was absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. I’m 100% positive we would have met, because I knew all the people that went to school with them-- I worked at the Quiznos across from The bakers she worked at back then, also. Cross country runners run through trails and woods and generally compete in 2 mile, 5k, and 10k distances. Track events are on a track and incorporate sprints, hurdles, relays, distance runs up to 2 miles and field events (pole vault, triple jump etc).😊
This case is so heartbreaking. I always think it's such a betrayal when someone is killed by a person they knew and trusted. I don't think either one of these perpetrators should be out walking the streets, it definitely seems like they both planned this, there's no way it was a prank gone wrong, you don't dig a grave for a prank. I don't think this was planned as "joke" because Damien took a loaded gun with him AND he had the gun in his hand because he didn't choose to leave it in the car. I've never heard of 1 trial-2 juries. I'll have to do some research. Kenzie admitted to shooting Kelly so I believe she deserved more prison time. I'm surprised Damien's 1st jury was deadlocked. I wonder why? I would love to know about the history of jury selection. I was an outsider in high school, too. In fact, I sometimes feel I still am. 😉 Teens are so impressionable & so hopeful. I agree. This was definitely never meant to be a prank. One trial, two juries is relatively rare now. It was more frequently used in the times of the wild, wild west. I may be wrong, but I think most states have abandoned the practice.

If anything, that’s changing now to not exist as much- it just wasn’t so hardline stereotype like oh these 3 are all super punk n in the same clique- it was more like friend circle a was one, b was another, etc etc- tho the friends tended to be into the same stuff n fall within a certain stereotype of a clique

You should consider doing a video on Sara Anne Wood. The 30th anniversary was two days ago. Hers was the first missing poster that really grabbed me, and I have been drawn to her case ever since. Her posters were everywhere, not just on the Toys R Us wall of lost children. I couldn't stop thinking of her from Sept 1993 when I first saw a poster to shortly after they found her killer in winter 1994. The Sign became popular around that time. And hers was the sign (poster) I SAW (initials) that opened up my eyes to the world of missing children. So that song took on a darker meaning for me at the time. I was 10 and close in age to Sara. She's never been found, and it bothers me. They did a special for the anniversary, but I don't feel her case gets much in depth coverage. Maybe I'm wrong. But I would recommend looking into it.
I also was drawn to Holly Piirainen who was kidnapped that same month, two states away in MA. She was 10 like I was. I'm in Maine. Sara lived in NY. And there was a little girl named Jeanna North who was never found, though her killer was. Just like Sara. Sara's parents tried to bring awareness to Jeanna's case too.
