According to your own statement Sergio... 0.24 out of every dollar goes to expenses for Lyft. You only have $1 dollar... so Lyfts initial take rate is 24%!!! Now, you have 0.76 cents left! So 0.532 is 70% of 0.76 cents leaving 30% @ 0.228 cents further to Lyft... Lyft gets 0.228 plus 0.24 = 0.468 to Lyft!!! (Or) almost 50/50... imagine driving for 0.52 cents per mile on Lyft! All I know is Driver Anywhere and Get Transfer take only 23.5% Lyft is just as BLOATED AS OUR GOVERNMENT IS and we just can't take their word for it out of an article... sheeesh... just another PR SCAM/LIE! However, I drive BLACK SUV and their take rate is around 23-25% I am speaking on behalf of lower tier drivers... THIS ARTICLE IS ABOUT CHANGING YOUR MINDSET... but, if you do the math... This is substantially more transparent than Uber. One thing has just been revealed which helps drivers greatly. Uber has been representing they are taking only a small percentage, much less than 30%. Hopefully this will force them to reveal their fixed cost are. Today, they are saying 15%. If so, then Lyft has fixed expenses greatly more than Uber. I’m guessing Uber is lying and their fixed costs are >25% too.

These rideshare companies contract with the riders and pay us as subcontractors. They are responsible for the commercial insurance not us They need to pay the insurance out of their take instead of saying it’s a fixed cost that they’re paying for us. It’s definitely not true. We provide the car we provide the time we provide the maintenance we provide the fuel. They need to charge enough to pay THEIR fixed expenses rather than sloughing it off on the drivers. According to AAA, the national highway administration in the US treasury, the cost of ownership and operation of a vehicle in the United States is $.72 a mile. When they pay us $.52 a mile, it doesn’t even cover our expense let alone our time. Until they start paying fairly, there’s really nothing to discuss. I don’t give a shit about a button I can press to immediately appeal some bullshit from one of the passengers. Lyft likes to think of us as a cheap public transportation, alternative and cheap medical transportation. Obviously the only way to get their attention is to shut them down. It’s the only thing they understand.

The wild card in their new formula remains the “after expenses” fee. They can make that whaztever they want. There is no clear definition of what that fee includes. They can include whatever they want because they can add whatever they want to the fee. How about class action lawsuits payout or attorney fees paid out. They fee will constantly adjust to make sure they never payout on this promise.

Another one I was in a 9.00 surge got 17.00 the rider paid 12.00 so they rob one rider and save another rider and I get only bare minimum . None of it adds up . I work 6 to 10 gigs is the only way I make it . It's almost like driving during the lockdown your gamabling on which to take if you get anything .

Then with elderly people with rides to the doctor or whatever. I told them to give me a days notice on those. Older people are good at informing you. It's going to take a few months to get your days filled up. Most people would prefer they know their driver.

Both Uber/ Lyft need to go back to paying drivers the rate card model, its still a big joke the dimes and pennies we drivers get. If billion dollar tech corporations such as Uber/ Lyft need money to pay the expenses then they should make it a membership platform drivers pay monthly, they charge the riders and we the drivers should receive a proper percentage payout of the ride this shit is not complicated.

That is another suggestion I sent to Lyft. I believe focusing on the tier groups is a good thing, but you should make it match the pay scale. So for example if you are elite as I am then then we would get 85% pay, platinum drivers, 75% pay and so forth from there. There's so many different ways and at the end of the day math is math. They're just taking more of the money undercutting the driver and taking advantage of the riders who have to pay out.

I drove Lyft yesterday and the results will shock you. Lyft charged $48.38 to passengers and I made only $28.31 (for 1 hour 18 minutes of time booked). That is 59% paid to me. I drove only 2 rides because it was terrible. I first had a normal ride - then a ride to central Phoenix stuck in traffic behind a wrecked high-centered SUV on IS-60 for miles and miles of stop and go. A 28 minute ride took an hour. Why would I spend that much time in those conditions with a frustrated passenger who is stuck in a big traffic jam to be paid 59% of the charged fee? No mystery here why drivers are concerned.

This will definitely entice more drivers to drive Lyft. This is about fairness, the driver who bears the largest cost of providing the service including paying for the vehicle should receive the bulk of the fare. TAKE RATE GURANTEE is long overdue

My problem with Lyft and Uber is they sell the rides too cheap or way too high based on all the information.
They know how the rider rides and how they tip and used it to work their magic . I still wish they did something for the veteran full time drivers with nice cars ! How is it fair that someone needs to run out and bang out an extra 100.00 in their piece of crap car . I have always gone above and beyond keeping my car clean without duct tape and bungie cords . Why can't they feed those drivers with the low rating and multi stop riders . I feel from talking to my riders and myself as a rider that the rides are becoming more like riding in a nasty taxi cab . How about rides that make no sense get taken care of this morning I picked a single mother in an outer city limit to drop her kid off at school and her to work on the way other side of town to work . Nobody but me or Sunshine Man would even do this 😂 . The girl was not getting picked on top of her fare was so high and there was a huge accident that caused her to be late . Not that I was going to get a tip . Sure wish riders and drivers could get a break .

That so-called "transparency" is bullcrap. So lyft gets to deduct THEIR expenses off the top, THEN split the leftovers with the driver? How about we flip that around? Deduct DRIVER'S expenses off the top from the passenger paid amount, then give lyft 30% of the leftovers. Do the math Sergio. In reality, it's still a 40%-60% take. It's verbal legerdemain meant to confuse and misdirect drivers who aren't good at math or have poor verbal skills. Is it working? If you're buying into it, it's working on you.
That's NOT a "clean cut" Sergio. That's not a "Floor" Sergio. Not as long as lyft has free reign to play games with what they include in "expenses" they get to deduct off the top. Bonafide Legitimate third party expenses (airport fees, tolls, city/county taxes, etc), OK. Any internal operational expenses, HELL NO.
Drivers have internal operational expenses. WAAAAAY more operational expenses than lyft.
As for "wait time" I don't know why uber/lyft have such a problem with it. The solution is super super simple and 100% effective. Charge riders a punitive rate for wait time. Give them a 1 minute "grace period" then start charging the rider 80¢ to $1 per minute and pay 100% of it to the driver (pure pass through, uber/lyft don't need a cut on wait time). It would be a zero cost to uber/lyft. At that rate, drivers won't mind waiting. Sure, riders will grumble and complain, but it's an optional fee. Any rider who doesn't want to pay it can avoid it by simply being ready on time.
Same applies to wait time at stops. A 1 minute "grace period" then start charging the rider 80¢ to $1 per minute. EZPZ. Rider wants to run into walgreens "real quick"? Fine, take your sweet time. Rider wants to get into a round the building fast food drive thru line? Fine, no problem.

hi sergio I Watch your this vedio on google news now giving my opinion۔ one dollar lyft is taking 24% as external expenses then remaining they used simple math 70/30 ratio۔ driver 70% lyft 30%۔ in simple lyft first taking 24% plus 30% become 54% straight that means more fare decrease۔
On other way if they charge like amount plus tax then then 24% will be like tax then I can say excellent as lyft care for drivers۔ so let be clarify it amount plus tax then good۔ But if amount include tax then fare have gone down۔ this very simple so confirm it۔ regarding deactivation I like it and highly appreciate because all drivers are not bad n all the riders are not good۔ finally I will check any new features will impact drivers earnings wether its making more or worse then current fare۔

Second of all, during the appeals process will the driver be suspended meaning the driver, cannot access the platform, take/recieve trips, and essentially guilty until proven innocent? Also I understand Sergio is just the messenger and he has proven himself despite the nay sayers calling him a fence sitter and a shill. I am reasonable and have decency to see when people do their best. It is the companies actions and intentions I question. Thanks Sergio for the good work. Well transparency is good but at the same time we need to look at the actual numbers. This is another bingo game Lyft is playing and to me it’s not making so much of a difference when it comes to driver pay. With these numbers the driver is left with 53.2% of what the passenger paid. I agree with you that 24% is very high to begin with.
    Here’s the math.
    Say passenger paid $100.
    Lyft expenses=$24.
    driver pay= 70% of $76= $53.20.
Every $100 driver gets $53.20 and this right here is concerning to me.

💯💯💯you got the math right, one difference, that's the floor, doesn't mean you'll only get 53 cents of each pax dollar

What happened? I drive overnights so didn’t experience any of that at DFW or Love. What did the apps do and did you see most drivers participating or were there too many scabs?

@@TheFriscoBassAce Hey Frisco Bass.. AKA fellow DFW driver.. yes I pulled into the queue yesterday about 1:00 and it was intense... the drivers are passing out flyers and then as it got later like around 6:00 or 7:00 police were surrounding the place to control traffic in and around the queue... very few drivers drove last night and they're having the event again on the 18th of this month..
I'm so glad things are getting stirred up not only at DFW but Across the Nation about how Uber and Lyft are ripping their drivers and passengers off ..enough is enough!!! Stay safe.. try to make lots of money!!! Stay in touch
