      Heya, I have been driving uber x and delivering uber eats for 8 years now. I have a 100% thumbs up for customer satisfaction, and a 4.99 rating for Uber x. Yet, for the past 4 months, Uber eats has not sent me any offers worth taking, most of them are .50 cents per mile and in the $2 to $4 range. Just this past weekend I screenshot every single offer they sent me.. over 200, and all of them were just gawd awful. $9 for 27 miles, that was the highest paying one I received. Most were $2 for 4 miles, or $4 for 9 miles. I have had 100% thumbs up on my uber eats account for 2 years... yet I get 0 offers worth taking.

    We as drivers should always know how many passengers we are picking up and what the passenger wants to bring in our vehicles outside of their person( wheelchairs, groceries, household items, luggage count, car seats) etc before we except ride.

      💯. I have a hatchback. I'm sick and tired of going to pick up a pax to find out they have a full size motorized wheelchair or walker that won't fit in my vehicle.
      I've all but stopped accepting rides to the airports. Again , I'm sick of not knowing how many people and how much luggage which usually doesn't fit in my car.😡

      People always try to persuade me to take more passengers than my car can hold. They try to take the cheap way by not calling for an XL. Then they get angry when they actually have to call for a different ride. We SHOULD ALWAYS know how many people we are picking up before we accept!!

      I agree!!!!! Another app that I drive for does provide the number of passengers up front and if they have more than stated, I can reach out to the customer service team for assistance!

      I always hated how they don't force the driver to pick how many riders I have. I absolutely hate pulling up and seeing 4 people trying to get into my car. They should have to pay for the extra weight on my axles and gas tank lol

      Rider hasn't made it back to my car the last part of the trip gets canceled.
      It doesn't pay for me to sit and wait and it's costing us drivers trips and money.
      Then they get mad and make up something to complain on us about !

    As an Uber driver, I am especially glad to hear about the passenger identification verification process and how Uber is going to examine customer complaints more closely. I think both of these things will help protect the drivers.

      Honestly they should have to verify themselves the same exact way we have too as drivers. That takes 100% chance of uncertainty for unaccounted behavior and safety out of the picture for both driver and passengers. If you are 100% traceable, you should be on your best behavior. People who will still find ways around accountability if not verified the same.

    I had to fight 3 fraudulent cases in the span of one year. I loved Uber at first and maintained a 5.0 rating. Even after submitting all my proof with Uber and third party agencies. The 1 star ratings remained bringing me down to a 4.97. I prided myself on being kind and respectful to everyone. It becomes pointless to stay on the Uber platform when all the risk leans on the driver. I lost six days of work, plus the weekly and weekend bonuses. Who’s covering for that? I’m glad there are some changes coming. The pay Uber takes out needs to change though. I’m tired of getting $3.85 to go 15 min to pickup, wait 7 min, then drive 2 miles. It’s absurd. At that point your making below min wage in most states. Then if you don’t accept. There goes your acceptance and cancellation rate. I’ve switched to Lyft at this point. It’s not good when your worse fear is between your safety and your rating. Uber forgets too much it’s independent workers are equally as important as the customer.
    Also that wait time has got to be looked at. There is no parking in major cities. I shouldn’t be getting dinged for cancelling a ride. When the customer isn’t outside. What are you supposed to do hold up traffic for 7 minutes. That’s crazy.

      I agree on the wait time. If they haven't messaged in the first 2 minutes, we should be able to cancel and go. If they have, give them an additional 3 minutes and then go if they're not coming.

    I have done over 15,000 Uber rides, and one rider scam is ask you to put more people in the car than it's capacity, and threaten openly that they will report you were drinking if you don't do it.

      Just buy a dashcam!! I did and it works wonders, once the rider sees it they know they are being recorded.

    It’s like they’re throwing us bread crumbs at us & hoping that’ll make us happy. We don’t care about these changes! Give us a livable wage! Stop taking such a huge cut, surge more often and longer, give us per mile/minute rate back, stop gouging riders so they can afford to tip again. This company is ridiculously greedy

    I’m glad they’re making the job safer and more secure. Thanks for all you’ve doing to help us Sergio, we definitely need to paid more though. I refuse to take any ride for $4.00 , it’s not even worth starting my car up! We need to make a minimum fare , no matter the distance, and it’s need to be $10 , I know that will never happen 😂

    This helps BUT,
    Uber taking points for rejecting trash jobs or canceling rides that are ether not profitable or unfair. I’ve canceled rides from Orlando to Miami, price offered $185.00 this put me on a deficit on gas. Or rides 20 minutes away for a 5 minute trip. We should not be penalized for rejecting this work.

    Thanks guys, for all the support you give to the Uber Driver community. There is a lot of passengers, who shouldn’t be in the platform and need to know the consequences of their acts. This Friday night I picked up a passenger who I will quote “ I have a bipolar disorder; I suddenly become aggressive”. I have some boxing gloves hanging in my rear mirror, he noticed them and said “ are you a boxer?”, I said “ I do muay thai, judo, taekwondo, and jiu jitsu”, suddenly he changed the subject. It makes me question his intentions; what would have he had done to an elderly/woman driver.

      I had an un just deactivation I have disputed my deactivation several times..Uber has not given me an reason for my account being suspended I haven't driven for Uber in an entire year is there any way to dispute this un-fair deactivation?

      I've been active with Uber since 2014. I stopped giving rides when Uber shut it down due to the pandemic, and I haven't given a ride since then, only Uber Eats. I don't want to deal with any confrontations anymore. I've given over 25k rides. That 25k personalities I have had to deal with. I am now suffering from multiple personalities. 🫡

    Also, one thing I have noticed is when a rider complains that his fair is double or whatever and it usually is, and you got a surge of like a dollar you know and you tell them you don't get that they don't believe you. So they don't tip much when they're paying a high surge even though we're not getting the percent of that like we used to. The customer needs to get a receipt that shows what they paid and what percent went to the driver

    I would like to see Uber put where you can actually see the rider's location. It helps immensely as the pin pickup location many times is inaccurate. Thanks guys for what you do. Much appreciated. (Oh and tell Uber enough with the rides that only pay $3.00 - $4.00...ridiculous)

      That is now beyond Uber's capabilities because the newer phones have the option of giving a less precise GPS position. No way for Uber to know which level of location data they are being provided.

    Another update I wish they’d make is about car seats for children. I get tired of canceling orders because they have a small child, and/or a baby, and no car seat then have to either wait till time runs out to cancel or cancel early so I can get back to making a little money only to have it count against my cancellation percentage when I do so. They need a pop up or something reminding the customer it is their responsibility to make sure the child has a car seat for them.

    There needs to be a part of the riders app where we verify the rider we picked up is the riders account being used. In okc people buy rides for strangers and we have no way of checking these people so uber should require everyone using the app to not share their rides with strangers and make then get their own account so they can be verified.

    If we take a drug/alcohol test, and we pass, the passenger that made the false claim should have to pay for the test. Make it part of the disclaimer when they file the complaint. This will discourage false claims, and penalize the false reporter.

    Being a 5 star diamond driver... we deserve incentives, plus better higher pay for ALL. I'm also tired of fraudulent riders making fake claims, to get free rides, which ultimately affects our account. I had 2 grade 9 girls enter my vehicle today... thinking I was their uber. I told them, I'm here to pick up my kid. Riders are very careless. The girls were fortunate it was no psychopath. Lots of work and clarity are needed.

    Ok what about Uber Eats low pay? I had an order that paid $2.93 for a 18 minute drive plus a 15 minute wait for food that wasn't even ready. There was no tip 😢, can someone be told about this.

      Unfortunately- you have to give yourself a minimum- I stop driving for Uber eats cause 80% of order is 2.12 for 30 minutes of work. So on a Saturday in Vegas after 8 hours- I made 80 bucks ( 10 an hour) but once you minus gas/miles this is less than minimum wage In Nevada… and like everyone says( don’t accept the any ride that low.     I quit Uber because of their unfriendly app. Maybe I'll come back. Love your program. What about parties ordering rides for third parties? This has been my biggest concern when I'm expecting a Karen but get 3 Kevins. Happens just too much and it usually involves an intoxicated or confrontational person.

    Thank goodness for this driver protection. About two Fridays ago. A passenger were sending Uber false complaints on me. I asked Uber to banned them from my car. Uber replied they will banned him from the platform and his account is under investigation.
    He accused me of inappropriate conversations, I made them feel unsafe, using the phone while driving. What got him caught were, he reported I wasn't the driver driving him. Right before I picked him up, Uber made me do the photo verification. 😅

    This all sounds good but I’ll believe it when I see it on my app. If I had two things I wish Uber would add is a stay in area option like Lyft. My AR would be way higher and I never take trips outside my area. Another thing, we need more then 20 cents per min for late arrivers. That’s a slap in the face and it encourages people to take their sweet ass time getting to the car. Thanks 👍

      Yep. Wait time pay should be a minimum of $0.75 per minute. Charged to the rider. 100% paid to the driver. At the pickup and during any stops. It wouldn't cost uber a single dime and it would solve the waiting problem. Driver wouldn't mind waiting. Sure, riders would grumble at first, but then they'd learn to be prompt.

    If Uber already know there are people who purposely flag drivers to get their money back and deactivate accounts, they should back track and ban those accounts. Also, they should look into base tip depending on time and distance. Just like how some restaurants have an automatic % tip when the range of price meets the min requirement. Make it more desirable and drivers are more willing to take longer trips that are out of the way.

      It's against the law for restaurants to do that. Some still do it and are prob a mum n pop shop who don't have knowledge owners. Doubt Uber will try to implement this. If they don't start taking a smaller cut, they will lose their drivers. If no one accepts the worthless orders, they will learn and adjust their practices.

    Nice video what about passengers putting extra stops??? You guys need to mention that to Uber. So that way the driver has to give a consent because we're independent contractors. We checked the ride Before picking it up, there must be an option for the driver to be aware of the stops and the driver has to choose to take it or not.

    SOOOOO elated about the "Accept" change. They could take it one step further and even "Confirm" after you "Accept". I can't tell you how much my cancellation rate has TANKED since they started the damned Trip Radar and I accidentally accept a trip that is not profitable for me, and I have to cancel.

    Something to consider.... The Accept tab... it seems you can still accidentally hit that button when you are using your phone keyboard. In my opinion, the Accept button should be at the top of the phone.

    Are these changes going to apply in Australia too? We are treated very unfairly here. I've had three ridiculous accusations that I was driving dangerously or driving fast (no actual speed mentioned). Uber claims to take these allegations seriously but they refuse to accept dashcam footage with a GPS speed display to prove I broke no laws whatsoever, but they won't even provide details of the trip so I can retrieve and save the particular footage for at least my own peace of mind, or to use against them for any future complaints that resulted in account deactivation. The way they handle driving complaints is downright appalling and totally unreasonable. The other issue I have is being penalised for not accepting a bombardment of job requests close to the end of my shift that will take me way over in excess of my driving hours by law and as per their own policy. These people are nuts at times.

      @mikeb2611 Yeah, I keep getting rides at high schools. It's usually a guy and a girl. They never have ID to prove they're 18 years old. I cancel them as unaccompanied minors. The last guy had to think about his age. Lyft used to not let me cancel without penalty. I kept complaining. Now I see it in the app. The youngest I had was a 14 yr old . Being able to cance unverified pax would be great. We also need to make sure the requester changes who's the passenger in the app. Simply put in the app . Is the ride for someone else. Then verify. Warn if rider is someone else than and not put in the app it can be canceled by driver with a financial penalty. Check if the alternate rider is a minor or a verified adult.

      @mikeb2611 If they don't want to cancel, then penalize riders for not following the rules and laws, not the driver. This is also a bad policy. What if the passenger was kicked off the platform. They can use any fake name or get someone else to do the ride for them. Unsafe for drivers. What if we're transporting dangerous criminals, wanted, sex offenders? It becomes less of a danger when a passenger verification is done. I know they don't take safety seriously. Three times, I got scammer ride requests from the same account saying they were lyft. Sending me to pick them up under a dark underpass at night. They didn't even try to block after numerous complaints.

    Not to mention the fact that companies like indrive are coming a long and WILL no doubt take drivers from both lift and Uber and this WILL force both Lift and Uber to step up their game regarding taking a less of a % from the drivers and offering better incentives like more money for quests and challenges... one of the things that also needs to be addressed is the rating system it is so slated towards the rider... with the driver side the default is set to 5 stars unlike the rider who has it set to 1 star and we as drivers pretty much HAVE to give 5 stars or face retaliation from the riders who I believe have up to 3 days to give a rating and most riders don't even have to give a rating which delays the cycle of 500 rides.. I have no idea how you make the rating system have accountability so riders who feel like being a holes because they are having a bad day take it out on drivers who are just trying to make a living doing their job... thanks guys for doing what you do

    I wish they do/would have done something like this for uber eats, specifically the part about 'shooting us first and asking questions later' too little too late they deactivated me over a year ago. One person lied saying that I wasn't the driver that delivered their food. Additionally, being new, I was the fool to be picking up McDonald's orders only for them to turn around and give me thumbs down for that food being cold or them having to wait long because many other drivers weren't accepting their order. I'm not one of those slacker delivery people that do crazy things with people food. I simply went to the restaurant as soon as I got the ding and headed straight to the delivery location. My reward= deactivation. Started doordash exactly one month later and have never accepted a McDonald's order even the high paying ones that were less than 5 miles.

    2:05, ACCEPT tab: Sergio, this tab will NOT solve the accidental discharge. This blue tab has been on my app for sometime now, so I don't know why it is considered one of the new changes. Yes, it is new in that it has been reduced into this blue bar (blue tab) at the bottom of the screen, but it is still a trap for accidental acceptance a lot of times when I was simply trying to complete (or end) a trip. So no...this won't stop people from moving up in tears. The better solution would be to make this blue tab into a SWIPE; that is, in order to accept, swipe right on the blue Accept tab. Uber has been using SWIPE to complete a package delivery. So it should be a simple solution for swipe to start a trip. Please advocate for the swipe instead.

    Nice changes. Would have liked to see them back when I was driving a few years back. I have been car jacked at a large sports venue from passengers that were mad I wouldn't take 5 people in a civic, among many, many other customer incidents. The amount uber let pax get away with is a big reason why I no longer drive.

    The last two weeks the rates have gone down almost daily here in Tidewater Virginia. The price per mile is in the 60 cent range now and per hour the majority rates are 10 dollars and less. I went from $200 a day to not working at all. I wasn't making expenses.

    I hate the 7 minutes wait. Uber don’t understand 7 minutes is a long time especially when you’re driving at nights. Even worse when your in a bad neighborhood.

    These are actually some good changes. Fixing the "accidental" accepting thing has been a long time coming. Better visual clarity on the offer map (pickup/dropoff) for both regular pings and trip radar is good. ID verification for riders another good thing that's been a long time coming. The recording thing, I'm mixed. I guess if you don't have a dashcam, it's better than nothing. But a dashcam is 100% in your control. I don't understand why anyone driving gig-app work wouldn't have a dashcam. If you're ever in a your-word-against-their-word situation, dashcam recording will save your bacon on an insurance claim and/or lawsuit and/or traffic citation.
    Still needed though:
    - More time to review the offer ping. There's no excuse for this, especially while driving. They give uberEats driver more time, so they know how to do it.
    - Stop munging the street names on the offer cards. Use the local name. Not the US/State/County route numbers.
    - Calculate the overall $/mile & $/minute and give it to us on the offer card.
    - Make the trip details remain available AFTER acceptance. (lyft does, there's no excuse).
    - When riders make a change, immediately give the driver full details of the change and the option to decline the changed trip. I did NOT accept the changed trip. Uber screws drivers hard on modified trips. Chatbot support just keep looping that "I assure you, you got paid the correct upfront fare that you accepted." I did NOT accept the changes. I did NOT agree to an extra stop, 6 more miles, 22 extra minutes and a mystery extra amount of wait time for an additional $1.22
    - Stop "trip radar" pings for modes that are "Outside my preference" I have them turned off because I DON'T WANT THEM.
    - Stop "trip radar" pings NOT towards my destination when destination filter is on. If I wanted trips going in other directions, I wouldn't have the destination filter on.
    - Bump wait time pay to at least $0.75 per minute. Charge it to the riders. Won't cost uber a single dime. Riders will grumble at first, but they'll start being on time and drivers won't mind waiting longer.
    - Add a feature so that when a rider wants to go through a fast-food drive through, or run into 7-eleven or a liquor store "real quick" drivers can start a $0.75/minute wait time charged to the rider and 100% paid to the driver.

      P.S. On the dashcam recordings and insurance claims. I can't speak for every insurance company and every specific policy, but for those who don't know, it's common practice for many insurance companies/policies to waive your deductible if they're able to 100% recover from the other guy's insurance company.
      When it truly is the other guy's fault, having dashcam recording can make the difference that turns a your-word-against-their-word compromise into a 100% recovery.

      PS on the PS. No matter how nice and cooperative someone seems at the scene of an accident. When it comes to their statement to the insurance company they'll lie their A double S off. Dashcam footage shuts that down hard.
      Legal tip: Judges/Arbiters generally come down hard on the side caught blatantly lying.

    Also glad to hear that there’s better investigation. I had two bogus complaints. That’s excellent that they’ll pay for drug testing. I quit before they deactivated me. The complaints really shook me. Verifying their identity is amazing! Video recording is awesome.

    Yup I had an under the influence and been fighting over 6 weeks and waiting to get my reaction. I also told them that anyone could give the name of the purchasers and ride for them. Give them an example that one could ask someone in the streets and they give a name then hijack the drivers.

    Can you also ask them this. I was at the airport waiting lot yesterday and others drivers were showing $10 surge and others $4 and my app was showing $0 . I did everything I know to refresh my app and never changed. Why is this happening???

    Bravo, amazing segment. I hope the offers start improving. They completely dropped off a cliff in the last two months to a point where I am rejecting 90% of my offers or more and sometimes not even having a reasonable offer for the evening. I just going home since day are so poor. Hopefully it’ll improve, but the items you noted are all great

    The pay rate for drivers in Maryland is around 18$. If I work 12 hours, I make $250, at 18$ an hour with overtime at a regular job, it's about 240 a day. But regularly, you are not using your equipment, which costs 10 to 30k, and doing maintenance. If you subtract that from wages, that's about 150$-a 12-hour shift, Which equals 12 dollars an hour or less.
    Also there is no way for a driver to get rich and they should have a choice if you want to opt in to these rewards we might want them now or later or never.
    Also there should be a way for uber drivers to get rich or wealthy like a good drivers reward for each state no more free Consulting.

    Uber needs to update the airport queue. Have the app tell the driver what number they are in line instead it shows that you are 1 to 5 drivers ahead of you or depending on how many drivers are in line.

    Thank you guys so much for all you do. You do such a great service to the drivers. But, I would like to request the following, and I think it's more than fair after doing over 15K trips. Let me pick the area I want to drive in and stay in. I think the 2-hour limit and having to requalify over and over again for platinum or diamond status. is crazy. The destination option should be 4 a day instead of 2 as well. When you have been driving for 8+ years and 15K rides. You can keep the other garbage you give out. O just feel I have the right to drive In the area I choose and be an independent contractor. Other wise, it's nice to sit at home as an independent contactor on my computer.

      @@Roni62 you're correct, and drivers all have the right to stay in whichever area you want of course, but uber obviously and deliberately tries to get drivers out of their areas and into far and/or bad ones despite existing local demand. it's never going to let you have your rights, it's your boss, the "independent contractor" label is just uber's way of circumventing the laws it wants to. best we can do right now is to decline anything and everything that does not fit our standards.

      I won't stop if not added .
      Some riders become upset with that and find a reason to complain.
      And they claim they can't add it on but it all boils down to they don't wanna pay for the extra stop so find a reason to complain on us

    Sergio, great video. On the recorded trip thing with Uber I wish that they just had a setting that would automatically just record the trip without having to turn it on every time you logon because you know going back-and-forth. It should just automatically record every trip. I forget to turn it on because you have to physically turn the sucker on, anyway it would be great if it was a choice to automatically record the trips. Have a great day 😊

I’m drying Tesla Model Y and Uber green and Uber comfort green is on and I’m not getting those rides one day I waited to 4 hours, but this is not the problem the problem is customers do not have that option Uber green or comfort green. I have asked so many customers and my family after updating the app or reinstalling still not available.

    Along the lines of getting uber eats to update GPS drop off locations is that something that can work and get changes or updates to help future drivers during night deliveries?
    On at least two deliveries the GPS took me across the steet unable to access the delivery location from that GPS drop off point unless i ignored the GPs drove around in circles in attemps to find access to the customer.
    And on a rural area without any street lights the GPS took me to a neighbors house on a winding road about a half mile away from the actual drop off point.
    After that night time food delivery I called support to have them update the drop off location but support just said to restart my app. interestingly the customer said drivers in the past keep delivering to the neighbor, so it was not just me having GPS issues. In rural areas i think its possible to get shot in the night if you are not an expected presence.
    all i have to show that the customer address and GPS drop off locations are different are screenshots but support only takes messages

    About 3 weeks ago I emailed the executive of the developers about a fraudulent report and told them to get them to do a police report for any harassment. Also to do a passenger background check to save for a defense on lawsuit.

    Nice to see changes on the functional side of the app.
    Where drivers need to see more changes also..is the drivers pay and the percentage split. Numero uno.

    Good stuff. Im glad that those changes are being made. In particular the rider identity verification. As far as trip radar goes. I see those trips pop up, and i 99% of the time just ignore them. However in certain instances it comes right to me as a ride request. I guess it has to, but if im going to ignore a bad ride, i dont want to have to decline it. I most of the time turn my app off, until i think its gone. To bad we dont have a toggle switch that would give us the opportunity to opt out of trip radar ride requests unless we try to reserve that ride.
