I never saw air rifle stuff before, the first impression therefor seemed cruel to me. In the first clips i didnt realized the pigeons were ded, so i assumed they carried on with damaged bones and much pain.

When they fall without a single flap, you KNOW it's instant "lights out"!...great shooting!!

Thank you for showing the nonlethal hit. If you're new to air rifle pest control, it can be a little upsetting the first time you only injure a creature. Important to not lose your cool and get the follow-up shot ASAP to keep the practice as humane as possible

This is one more prime example of how a lite pellet flys true and hits hard enough to get the job done effectively when the shot placement is properly done. Awesome video. Nice to not have FX thrown in our face all the time. They are not the only really good air guns out there. ThNk you for that. So burnt out really with one brand air gun supremacy!

@@AirRifleActivities i'm glad to say i don't have an FX ,,my favorute gun is a benjamin marauder that i've had for over a decade ,,and i have a Gamo PCP rifle as well , don't remember the model but it's a .22 and very deadly even at 100+ yards ,,i've put down a coyote with it

@@AirRifleActivities i'm actually a very deadly shot with my airguns and with firearms as well ,,i hunt coyotes and white tail deer with a .243 winchester rifle and i have made some spectacular long shots my longest shot on a deer was 873 yards was a lung shot ,,and about 2 weeks ago i tagged a coyote between the eyes just outside 900 ,,my record is 1120 for a coyote that was standing on a hilltop

Your a good shot off hand. I used to be but as I get older ( 56 now ) I am getting shakey and need to rely on my Caldwell bipod or my bog adrenaline shooting tripod to steady my shots.As always love hearing the pigeons smack the ground when they fall. Keep up the good work.

@CUC Hussain, I take a lot of crap from people like you and I put up with it. But the next time you insult a viewer of mine, I will delete all your doggerel and block you from my channel. There was a clear warning in the beginning of the video about it's contents. And still you watched it. I would never harm anyone's pet (pigeon or otherwise). These are not pet pigeons, but ferals which spread disease at that place. That's why I shoot them.

Good shooting my friend! What kinda predator bird did you say you thought it was at the end. I think it was a peregrine falcon. We have a lot of peregrines here in the southwest of usa. They do in fact prey on birds I have 2 videos of 2 separate events where a peregrine is stuffing his face, one with a dove and the other was a pigeon. They were both taken in town and both of them were on top of a street light enjoying their meal. Its pretty awesome to see mostly cuz of the size difference perigrins are probably 2/3 the size of a pigeon but both cases I saw the bird go from the ground to the top of the pole with those birds in tote!!! Anyway enough rambling keep up the good work.

I saved a young and dehydrated one last summer, and the vets told me so when I brought it to the clinic. Thanks, Vasilis 🙂 I shoot the Mk2 at about 870-875 fps. Oddly, the twist rate of the R5M's LW is not stated anywhere. At least I couldn't find it online. They tell me it's 16:1.
@@AirRifleActivities hmm. That's the same twist rate as my airforce condor which I also shoot at 880 feet per second the mk2 with less than an inch at 100 meters. I am now testing the h&n slugs on my .22 barrel
I'm not surprised that the twist rate is the same. A successful barrel makes for a wide distribution among the manufacturers. You said "hmmm", though. May I ask what do you find to be surprising?

I live on a farm in Britain and there is a really bad crow/raven population and so I bought a new .22 air rifle and it has been working great

Do these pellets travel all the way through them at this distance?
It depends on the distance - and I shoot at various distances - and also on the type of pellet. At close to medium range regular diabolo pellets do go through them, but exit their bodies heavily deformed and at a greatly reduced velocity. That's what I like about diabolo pellets - they're safer to shoot.

Thanks, buddy 🙂 In this video I used the JSB Exact King Heavy Mk2. The drift is because of the wind. It's always windy here, I live by the sea. Additionally, the draughts around those conical silos are always quite difficult to predict.

An idea for the double hit, pigeon 1 through the neck then the pellet might go through and through.
Then again what do I know.. pigeons are protected here
Pellets are made of soft alloy and they tend to deform easily upon impact even in soft tissue, Gisli 🙂 In my experience it would be very rare to score a triple hit no matter where the point of impact is. Protected pigeons - are you somewhere in Scandinavia? Or are you referring to the recent ban in the UK?
@@AirRifleActivities a triple would be sweet to see... I live in Iceland and all them flying rats are owned by several people. I think there are a handful "wild" in Reykjavik and not a change to shoot them due to rules and regulations.

You need to look up "hold over" and 'hold under" here in the TH-cam. There are videos which will give you an idea.

Hey, friend. The farthest shot I've taken with the Matador was at 120 meters, but it can definitely be efficient at 150-160 meters, perhaps more.

The Edgun is expensive, buddy, I can't deny it. But I bought it not because hunting pigeons requires such an expensive gun; I bought it because I like it 🙂 I'll be honest with you - I don't like springers. I'd rather have a budget pcp, like the Gamo Urban my friend uses in some of my other videos. Sorry to disappoint you. As for my location, I prefer to keep it to myself for the time being, sorry about that too.

There are so many choices out there these days, mate... There's no such thing as a perfect gun - just a gun that's perfect for a given shooter. That being said, I recommend you look into Edgun, Daystate, Kalibrgun, RTI Arms, and of course - the widely spread FXs 😁

Hey, mate. It's a magpie, a species of the corvid family. Defined as a pest by law and it's allowed to shoot those throughout the entire year. This bird has a devastating effect on smaller song birds, as it preys on their eggs and youngs. The number of magpies has exploded recently.

What can you say is a good technique to do with someone who has Shaky hands?
Hey, Carlos. A good bipod and steady surface. Elbows should be rested on that surface too. That will iliminate most of the shaking. Of course, there'll always be the issue with the hand that holds the grip and pulls the trigger. But some practice and getting used to will most certainly improve your game drastically.
