So you wouldn't have wanted a paired back but a pretty accurate conversation of final fight on the snes back in the day, even if it was a single-player experience 🤔 😮

Hey, it's an honor to play that game. I feel like I need to play that game again, because it's been so long since I have touched Jitsu Squad. I hope you don't mind me using some of your clips.
One game I was very surprised you didn't mention was to the Alien vs Predator arcade game made by Capcom. This was one of the best beat em ups Capcom ever made aside from Final Final. The awesome part was the character had moves that mimicked street fighter moves but were easier to do. Also Final Fight on the Sega CD was the best console version and nearest to the arcade and had all three characters and was two players.
SOR4 greatest strength is it's difficulty options, Combo system and Leaderboards, but it's biggest weakness is it's online play. Shredders Revenge's greatest strength is it's 6 player drop in online play and it's emphasis on having fun (being able to spam specials) and being more of a party game. I believe if someone was able to combine both games strength's you would have the perfect beat'em up.

What an excellent video, well done, it’s refreshing to see someone list SOR3 higher than SOR2. Let me tell you for the best part of 20 years i regarded sor2 as a better game that SOR3, it wasn’t until i played through the exquisite SOR remake dozens of times that i started to grow a a new found respect for SOR3 to the point of liking it better than SOR2. Also, agree about Final Fight, often hailed as the “best beat em up ever” but i think your no17 placement is spot on. But yea again, great video, quite a lot there to check out that I’ve not played before
No love for any of the VanillaWare beatemups, like Muramasa Demonblade, Dragon's Crown or Odin Sphere Leifthrasir... all of which are among the best in genre that I've played. Are the VanillaWare games I mentioned above not technically qualified as 2D beatemups?
Great video Brother filled with lots of interesting facts. I agree SoR4 is my fave all-time beat em up. I never heard of Panzer Bandit I'd love to try it.
There are other beat em up games to be mentioned too, like there's a "Bucky o hare " that's also a konami beat em up game where it's a beat em up and a shoot em up at the same time, that game was made to be the last episode of the Bucky o hare storyline as well.
Hey thanks for making this video, I know this video is made based on your personal preference, however I think you are definately missing some gems in this video. More specifically, Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow of Mystara and Dragons Crown. If you ever update this list i would recommend looking into those 2 entries.
very good list; my own would have similar choices, however my number one would be Tenchi o kurau II, always underated. The enemies are coded so well that sometimes it feels like the game adapts differently to each playthrough. It has a decent difficulty and is good on every platform is has been released on. My goto version is the Saturn.

theres one thing you forgot about the arcade version of Powered Gear S.V.A.E. when you play the game in three player and achieve the level in a certain time at full health, you can summon a power armour for all three bots to combine and become a mobile armour but it is on a time constraint and is only for boss battles.

Was about to riot that Panzer Bandit isn't here. I've heard 3's Intro and bam. Guardian Heroes is there so I can't think of a reason not to put Panzer Bandit. It's been one of those games that I'll put in any console, just because I never get tired of playing them. The fact that FInal fight 3 didnt do well has to do with the fact that it never came to the arcades, no way to play a beat em up with a stick and mash big clicky buttons ??? whaaaaa ??? ESPECIALLY given the fact that it had haduken/shoryuken like moves And to extend upon the poor decision of chosing the SNES, the hardware was so SHIT that final fight 3 could not display 1/5th of the number of enemies on screen than FInal Fight 1 that released 6 years prior, you basically fight the same 2-3 enemies over and over and the combat does neither get harder nor evolve with more enemies at once !!

BATMAN RETURNS for the 16 BIT SNES is much better then the 16 BIT GENESIS VERSION.

Nah, SoR4 characters have up to 300 frames of animation. No way near 1000. But still impressive.
