Skinny & Franko is a masterpiece. It was well said in the video that this game takes the beat 'em up genre to the next level. A true successor to Technos Japan "Double Dragon" with a ton of moves and a great combat system. It reminds me of the legendary Crime Fighters2. The game is brutal, with heavy humor and definitely for the older gamer. This game is a must play. I miss 99 Vidas on this list. A game with a much poorer combat system and graphics that look childish, but very cool, being the essence of beat 'em up games from the 90s. The Takeover would also be on my list.
I'm actually mostly excited for "Detained - too good for school" by O.T.K. games. It's a singleplayer experience, which many beat 'em ups are not. Also, unlike quite a few of them, it has excellent keyboard support. And it comes with that expressive and colourful art style inspired by Vanillaware. There's RPG elements, stuff to do when not beating up baddies, 12 or so different endings, a branching story, multiple playable characters... and a LONG list of special moves, combos and weapons.
I have played most of the beat'em ups that you have put in the top, and you have simply forgotten to put the best one ever made: Fight'n Rage. - It has the best gameplay, even better than River City Grils 2. - the best arcade, with a choice of routes. - the best mechanical challenge, with combo challenges. - has more game modes than SOR4 - and you can even use all the villains in a playable way. I hope one day you try it and do it the honor it deserves.

What's with these companies making these small ass sprites. They're all making the same crap like the first person shooters. Give me bigger sprites and well animated. Give me fighting games like Street fighter 62000 or or virtual fighters 44, king of the fighters 62. Even games like TMNT sprites seems downsize compared to the arcade version. Stop this!!! man. make good well-rounded animated video games with bigger sprites. Kinda like Final Fight type of Sprites.🤔 Stop making them damn sorry ass double dragon games unless your releasing Double Dragon Neon that was made for the Nintendo switch and bring it over to PS4 and PS5 with extra gameplay. Also port over Ghost & Goblin Remake over to game disk (Blu-ray).😁👍
