I couldnt make heads nor tales of what he was writing about. Example: "Thanne longen folk to goon on pilgrimages" WTF was he talking about? The only goons I know about were in old Popeye cartoons. And everyone I know calls me The Genius.

However, some groups of sentences are said so frequently that they have a simple sign that represents all of the sentences. "I'm worried about you. You need to be careful. What if Eredin finds out?" is said by nearly every person multiple times per day, so it has its own simple sign. Think back through the last few days and you will realize that both you and many people you know have said "I'm worried about you. You need to be careful. What if Eredin finds out?" several times.

I still have it in hard copy and it makes me wince to even think about it. Regardless, what I do remember from reading my marked work was "EXPOSITION!" written all over the first fucking half in bright red ink. Granted, I used that degree as far as it would take me for a few years then jumped ships, as I knew I would never be a writer. Until THIS day. THIS DAY. Now I genuinely think I could make fucking millions. Because my shite, although shite, is waaaaay better than this shite.

And you got to write advertisement pieces in the hollywood media about how revolutionary you and your work is for group x and how fit it is for modern audiences. I'm an amateur writer. I can imagine being hired to write for something like the Witcher. Not my favorite thing ever, but I have bills to pay. (I actually did really like Season 1 of the show though.) However, if I took the job, first thing I would do is sit down and read the stories and watch the games being played. I'd also read a good bit of the fan commentary to see what they liked, felt was important, didn't like, etc. Only then would I start to write and try to write in a way that would please the fans. That's respect for the fans. If I screwed up anyway, I'd be able to say honestly, "I thought you would like it because of this and this." I think the fans would be patient under those circumstances and we could always get better as ST: TNG did after the first season.
I have the feeling you're not the only one with good intentions. The problem is most likely the studios, the managers and the financiers with some strange idea of what is important and trending... and thereby force writers to adapt to their whims... or hire these 'woke' fools.
The games while extending the book lore, are not the book lore. The games are set after the events of the books and are separate from while also acting as a sequel to the books
That Dwarf is clearly insane. Yes she is one of the "heroes", but she constantly seems to hold conversations with her hammer, which had her dead girlfriend's ashes included in the forging thereof. Either that or the hammer is posessed and it just so happens that nobody else can hear it.
My favorite thing to sh*t on this how most of the heroes seem to join on this quest because they have nothing better to do in their live. The dwarf literally says this. Something along the lines of: "I have goten my revenge and nothing else to live for. So I gues I join you guys" Mind you that she has a scene with brother pointless were she tells that dwarfs suffer at the hands of opresive elfs. Oh yea, so thats why you took six elfs, complete strangers, into your home. Brother pointless litarelly says "I'm an edge lord and I like killing. So I'll join you on your quest" Like, your a group of seven up against an empire. And these guys are like "yea I have nothing planned this afternoon so why not start a rebellion".

I think it'd have to be a competent show developing only her in order to work properly. I read a comic called "Plastic" once which was somewhat similar, and fantastic. As is, she's a good D&D PC at best, I think
What annoyed me a lot while watching was how it made no sense most of the time. In episode 1, one of the assassins managed to land a hit on Fjall with a dagger or something but there was no poison or anything even though they were assassins. But then in episode 2 Scian gets wounded by a random soldier and these soldiers for some reason have poisoned blades when earlier the assassins did not.
To be fair they also showed that the assassins were from multiple kingdoms they could theoretically be different then the one who poisoned scian, lots of bigger problems like lack of different elven races and wtf did they do with eredin

I have been watching the 2001 Witcher that was made in Poland. It is refreshing to see it with Polish actors in subtitles. Sure, the special effects are outdated and a bit clumsy, but I will take that over needless diversity and bad acting/writing any day. I also appreciate the Japanese, South Korean, and Chinese movies that do not kowtow to the woke.

to be honest that Dwarf could be fantastic if used by competently. She had the most potential character in the whole show.
Not a high fucking bar to cross, mate. Like, the main character and the main male character are garbage, we see that, we know that, we've lived that.
The Michelle yeoh character is like a deus ex machina, and there fore is nothing more than another mystic chinese character that is the best at kung fu or whatever... See thousand eyes from NETFLIX's Marco Polo if you need another example of mystical Kung fu asian.
And the next 3 characters don't make any sense.
Also... why is the dwarf's entry into this show just her throwing rocks at them and then deciding to join their little merry band.

I think it'd have to be a competent show developing only her in order to work properly. I read a comic called "Plastic" once which was somewhat similar, and fantastic.
As is, she's a good D&D PC at best, I think
All the time I was watching this I was thinking...if its still called The Witcher then where the feck is he!?
What annoyed me a lot while watching was how it made no sense most of the time. In episode 1, one of the assassins managed to land a hit on Fjall with a dagger or something but there was no poison or anything even though they were assassins. But then in episode 2 Scian gets wounded by a random soldier and these soldiers for some reason have poisoned blades when earlier the assassins did not.
But.. But.. Things need to happen for the plot to happen!
The worst part is that the Assassins should logically be the ones who are equipped with the poisoned blades, NOT a common foot soldier.

To be fair they also showed that the assassins were from multiple kingdoms they could theoretically be different then the one who poisoned scian, lots of bigger problems like lack of different elven races and wtf did they do with eredin

And yeah there are many bigger problems but I just gave an example of how little thought and care was put into this show

12:10 this reminds me of that hilarious scene in Kung Pow, when this guy is clearly speaking for a few seconds, then the dub voices over it with just one word, "okay." This is like the reverse of that. The girl hardly signed, and they put so much context behind it that wasn't really there lol
Also I know ASL, and think it's super sweet that you tried to learn how to sign for a deaf person, even if it didn't turn out so well. Deaf people can feel very isolated. Hopefully he understood your intentions even though it wasn't his language. Thanks for saying that by the way, a lot of people don't consider sign language a real language, but it definitely is.

I have been watching the 2001 Witcher that was made in Poland. It is refreshing to see it with Polish actors in subtitles. Sure, the special effects are outdated and a bit clumsy, but I will take that over needless diversity and bad acting/writing any day. I also appreciate the Japanese, South Korean, and Chinese movies that do not kowtow to the woke.
