I have to say that Velma has been one of the greatest experiences offered this year so far. Never before did I think there would be a show so horrible that everyone comes together to collectively clown on it. Remember people, nothing brings people together like shared hatred.

Being able to accept it and having the courage to shave it all off, but once you do it you feel a lot better, and I only got positive feedbacks about by bald head. But Amazon messed up...they wanted to do Tolkien like Disney did StarWars, nonstop milking it, providing continuous stream of content directly to their consumers...and bind customer to their account, all in one "package", if you will. Didn't work out, fortunately. But they can't cancel the show either. They expressed commitment to the 5 seasons so we will see what will happen next...
@@TibiConstantine It did....I loved first half of the first movie...but then it got worse for me....with the third movie, you are asking about, being possibly the worst...overall I was disappointed but I still enjoy parts of the trilogy and watch it sometimes. The whole hobbit project was very rushed and staffed with unnecessary or outright bad additions forced by studio execs and whatnot. I disliked CGI (felt like MMO RPG), the love triangle, junkie Radegast, Azog design, Smaug's end and orc design as well as "handsome dwarves" who are just short men. I really liked Martin Freeman as Bilbo, Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug and Lee Pace as Thranduil (sirs Ian McKellen and Christopher Lee were always going to be a win) and of course great Andy Serkis as a Gollum. There are many scenes which are amazing but there are also those at which I cringe :D It should have been just the 2 movies IMO. But overall, this is just according to my personal taste, preferences and expectations which is not shared by everyone.

Since Helen was already married, it started a war. No idea what was the Facebook reference though.
In the end; what I take from this show is.. that I feel deep pity for Mindy. She has a lot of unresolved issues; and now openly has shown them for all the world to see... and she's getting ripped on for it, often deservingly; as the series is reeking of bitterness, vanity and supressed scorn. These issues will not be resolved by this; and probably only get worse. But it will always be exposed to everyone. Its really sad.

Technically Velma isn’t 100% wrong about the Trojan war, only like 80% wrong. The best way to explain it is to just tell you the whole myth. Once upon a time, there was a princess named Helen who was so beautiful that she had hundreds of suitors that were all princes from different countries asking her to marry them. Helen’s father was worried that if she married one suitor then the other suitors’ counties would declare war. One day one of the suitors, a young man by the name of Odysseus (yes, THAT Odysseus) came to Helen’s father with a proposition. All the suitors would sign a treaty that they would all defend Helen’s marriage should anything happen to her or her husband. Helen was then free to marry the suitor of her choice, and if any of the suitors tried to go to war, then all the other suitors would be obligated by the treaty to fight against them. Odysseus’s plan worked perfectly, and although he was not chosen to be Helen’s husband, his plan did insure that her marriage was peaceful. Everything was going great until Eris, goddess of chaos, brought a golden apple of discord to a party of the gods and said that it was for the most beautiful goddess on Mount Olympus. So of course there were three goddess who each claimed to be the most beautiful; Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite. So to settle this dispute they decided to have a random mortal who happened to be nearby make the decision. This random mortal was named Paris of Troy. Each of the three goddesses tried to bribe Paris to chose her. Athena offered Paris success in battle. Hera offered Paris a faithful and happy marriage. And Aphrodite offered to make any woman he wanted fall madly in love with him. Paris was swayed by Aphrodite’s offer and declared her the most beautiful, and for his reward he chose Helen, the most beautiful woman in all of Greece. The problem was that she was already married, and her marriage was protected by military treaty. So when Helen left her husband and went to be with Paris in Troy it triggered a massive military response known today as the Trojan war. So the ranking of women that Velma was referring to was probably Paris, but that’s ignoring the fact that he wasn’t really judging their beauty, but rather their bribes, and the whole thing was caused by the goddess of chaos.
I can relate to the real talk in the middle, would never cross my mind to blame women for me being unhappy with myself. When it comes to the Trojan War, it wasn't just about the kidnapping of one ordinary woman. I remember something completely different from Polish language lessons. She was beautiful, by the will of Gods, (a woman of high status, I don't remember if she was a princess or a queen). She delighted the eyes of everyone, so much that she was kidnapped because of her beauty because another ruler "fell in love" with her and decided to take her with him by force. So there's some sense why mention it, it's just a shame that it has been done in such a hopeless way. Because that woman's beauty wasn`t even natural, but given as a gift... a blessing or curse (depending on how you look at it)... something that any other woman could envy because no one else could compare to her. However, no one wanted to kill her, two important men were ready to declare war if she stayed by their side. So it's like a "well"-mentioned story, but the whole meaning is obviously twisted and inverted.

I think she meant the Trojan war was started because the godess of Discord left a golden apple for the 'most beautiful' godess. Athena, Hera and Aphrodite fought for it and, in the end, the decision was given to Paris. Athena offered him wisdom, Hera offered him power, and Aphrodite offered the love of the most beautiful woman. Paris chose Aphrodite, who gave him the love of Helen. Since Helen was already married, it started a war.
No idea what was the Facebook reference though.
But Paris wasn’t judging their beauty though, but chose who he felt had the best offer.

In the end; what I take from this show is.. that I feel deep pity for Mindy. She has a lot of unresolved issues; and now openly has shown them for all the world to see... and she's getting ripped on for it, often deservingly; as the series is reeking of bitterness, vanity and supressed scorn.
These issues will not be resolved by this; and probably only get worse. But it will always be exposed to everyone. Its really sad.
Remember, Velma gave Fredd a -radical- feminist guidebook and it caused BRAIN DAMAGE, lmao.

Technically Velma isn’t 100% wrong about the Trojan war, only like 80% wrong. The best way to explain it is to just tell you the whole myth.
Once upon a time, there was a princess named Helen who was so beautiful that she had hundreds of suitors that were all princes from different countries asking her to marry them. Helen’s father was worried that if she married one suitor then the other suitors’ counties would declare war. One day one of the suitors, a young man by the name of Odysseus (yes, THAT Odysseus) came to Helen’s father with a proposition. All the suitors would sign a treaty that they would all defend Helen’s marriage should anything happen to her or her husband. Helen was then free to marry the suitor of her choice, and if any of the suitors tried to go to war, then all the other suitors would be obligated by the treaty to fight against them. Odysseus’s plan worked perfectly, and although he was not chosen to be Helen’s husband, his plan did insure that her marriage was peaceful.
Everything was going great until Eris, goddess of chaos, brought a golden apple of discord to a party of the gods and said that it was for the most beautiful goddess on Mount Olympus. So of course there were three goddess who each claimed to be the most beautiful; Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite. So to settle this dispute they decided to have a random mortal who happened to be nearby make the decision. This random mortal was named Paris of Troy. Each of the three goddesses tried to bribe Paris to chose her. Athena offered Paris success in battle. Hera offered Paris a faithful and happy marriage. And Aphrodite offered to make any woman he wanted fall madly in love with him. Paris was swayed by Aphrodite’s offer and declared her the most beautiful, and for his reward he chose Helen, the most beautiful woman in all of Greece. The problem was that she was already married, and her marriage was protected by military treaty. So when Helen left her husband and went to be with Paris in Troy it triggered a massive military response known today as the Trojan war.
So the ranking of women that Velma was referring to was probably Paris, but that’s ignoring the fact that he wasn’t really judging their beauty, but rather their bribes, and the whole thing was caused by the goddess of chaos.
I can relate to the real talk in the middle, would never cross my mind to blame women for me being unhappy with myself.
To your other point, look at how much eyelash makeup costs and ask yourself as a man. Have you ever looked at a girl and thought "she would be so much hotter with longer lashes" ever in your whole life?

When it comes to the Trojan War, it wasn't just about the kidnapping of one ordinary woman. I remember something completely different from Polish language lessons. She was beautiful, by the will of Gods, (a woman of high status, I don't remember if she was a princess or a queen). She delighted the eyes of everyone, so much that she was kidnapped because of her beauty because another ruler "fell in love" with her and decided to take her with him by force. So there's some sense why mention it, it's just a shame that it has been done in such a hopeless way. Because that woman's beauty wasn`t even natural, but given as a gift... a blessing or curse (depending on how you look at it)... something that any other woman could envy because no one else could compare to her. However, no one wanted to kill her, two important men were ready to declare war if she stayed by their side. So it's like a "well"-mentioned story, but the whole meaning is obviously twisted and inverted.
