I am by no means a vegan or vegetarian, but you sure as hell make me break away from my usual go-to meals. Thanks for the inspiration! -Fellow cooking enthusiast
I'm Chinese and grew up eating tofu all the time! if you can get fresh fresh tofu (aka not in the plastic sealed boxes but from a store who made it the same day, usually in big plastic tubs), then a favorite way to eat it is just cut into bite sized pieces on a plate, with a pool of soy sauce, green onions, and sesame oil on top. super refreshing and great way to enjoy high quality tofu
My husband was reluctant for years but then I made crispy tofu stir fry one night and he was sold. I make many different ways now and always enjoys it.
@Laura G. Many people hate many things. Like we love eating "exotic food" here in asia that you guys may find odd and gross. But to be honest it just depends on how you cook and prepare the ingredients. People who say they hate liver might not have found the recipe that suits their palette best, same to tofu 😞
I sometimes have it just as it is, without any seasoning 🤣 I think the problem is that people always want to make it taste like meat/chicken... and eventually they will be disappointed because the only way to fully achieve it is by using a lot of chemicals - the opposite of healthy. If people would try to embrace the taste of tofu they could see its actual beauty. Just like we always try to change everything, the environment and ourselves. If we could learn to embrace the things as they are we all might be happier. That said, I also love Tofu dishes with a bit of seasoning. My all-time favourite is mapo tofu without meat, just very spicy sauce; or hiyayakko or agedashi tofu with plant-based dashi. There’s no need to cover the taste of tofu when it’s so beautiful
The recipe that converted me to tofu was doing it like a fish fillet. I marinate it the day before on lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, a sprinkle of salt and white pepper/hot sauce and then I roll them on bread crumbs (I should try the corn starch to make it crispier!) and fry it or put it on the airfryer (or the oven). I started doing it more than one year after becoming vegetarian and it was really nice to be able to make something vegan that reminded me of fish fillets. When my family eats them, I make my own out of tofu and they've all tasted and approved it as well, it started to be a regular at my parent's house
Great recipes! Tip: alternately, if you're going to be slicing the tofu anyway, slice it and THEN remove the water. Place the slices between 2 layers of kitchen (or paper) towels with a heavy, wooden cutting board in top. Water removal only takes about 5 minutes.
Hey Sadia. I know you might not remember me but i asked you to help me because my parents won't lemme go vegan. And u asked me to read 'Becoming Vegan'& yes i am reading it.. Thanx.. How can i not listen you.. You are my inspiration . Keep up the goooooood work.❤bloopers😍...
I like to make maple-miso sticky tofu at home 😋 The ingredients are a tsp of brown miso paste, 2 tbsp of tamari, 2 tbsp of maple syrup, a squeeze of lemon juice,a tsp of corn starch, a tsp of sriracha, a clove of garlic and a little bit of ginger And Tofu of course Enjoy!
I usually press tofu with a cast iron skillet and a towel, and my current favorite coating is cornmeal, cornstarch, nutritional yeast, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper (has kind of a fried-chicken vibe that I like). --These recipes look amazing! I'm looking forward to trying the buffalo recipe!

I don’t even miss any animal products with recipes like these!! (Last week I made the Pad-Thai meal prep and it was one of my favs!)
Frankly I make none of your recipes because you use a lot of stuff which is usually not available at our location but I never miss a single video from you because I love watching your videos.. They’re so creative and the videography is really great along with your soothing voice ❤️💕🙈
The last recipe is so fast, love it! I do something similar with Agave, Gochujang or Sriracha, Miso paste and tamarind paste. I also use tofu as a chicken replacement in a pasta pollo limone recipe. I just marinate the tofu with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt and black pepper. and fry. Super delicious! Combine with stir fried mushrooms, your favorite pasta and more of the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt & black pepper. Top with a little violife Parmesan or nutritional yeast. 😋👌🏼
The vegan ranch is LIFE CHANGING! I make up the mix and always have it on hand for a quick ranch dressing. My whole family loves it and I can make it in minutes. THE BEST!
how to get rid of as much liquid out of the tofu as possible: freeze the tofu, let thaw overnight. You'll get rid of much more liquid than by just squeezing
I'm Asian so I loooove tofu, even better when it's featured in a PUL video! 😍 Far from a 'meat substitute', tofu is a core ingredient in its own right in many Asian cuisines. There's a bit of a misconception that tofu is 'bland', but good tofu has its own mild flavour that is tasty on its own :) For example, hiyayakko, a Japanese dish of chilled silken tofu that really celebrates the simplicity of this ingredients. I love seeing these kind of recipes though, because tofu is such a versatile ingredient so it's cool to see how people innovate with it! 😃
You inspired me to start eating healthy. Thank you so much. I've 30pounds exercising and eating healthy food. Your receipes have been helpful. I'm document my journey here on TH-cam
Grazie molte Sadia per la traduzione delle tue ricette nella mia lingua!! Sei unica anche in questo!! Adoro le tue ricette e il tuo modo originale di presentarle, è una gioia anche per gli occhi!
Just so appreciate these recipes! My mouth was watering the entire time I was watching. I’ve used so many of your suggestions and they are always spot on. You and Robin are lovely together.💕
Love theses! I have such a texture problem and hated tofu for the longest time. Videos like these have helped me cook it in a way that I really like. More videos on how to make foods for people who hate mushy textures would be awesome!!
Hack: instead of getting extra firm tofu that still often needs pressing for some recipes, buy Chinese tofu labelled "hard", very little water content and usually a cheaper alternative (also because you aren't paying for water you're gonna squeeze out). Usually you can get it from Asian grocers :) btw LOVED these recipes, can't wait to try them!
Chinese-Canadian here - "hard' tofu and extra firm tofu basically are the same thing - just different ways to translate the word. There are places now you can buy extra firm tofu with vacuum packing. There would still be water but not as much. One of the places you can buy them in Canada is Loblaws.
@@angechrissy while that may be true for canada, where I live the chinese tofu is usually labelled hard and is generally a lot firmer than the extra-firm labelled ones. But thanks for clarifying!
I could honestly eat tofu plain, but learning more ways to enjoy it is exactly what I love :D Especially form such an AWESOME recipe developer! The video was as always beautifully crafted and each recipe just packed with flavour! . Sending you all the love! Stay safe and have a great week ahead!
I press my tofu sliced into 8 slices, it takes far less time and squeezes more water out. I also use a tea towel sandwiching the tofu ...for two-sided absorption. This is placed between two cookie sheets and then load up the weight with a heavy pot. I love what you do, thanks for inspiring my vegan ways.
I freeze and defreeze the tofu to get rid of most of its liquids. Then I marinate it in soy sauce with garlic, silan and ginger, and bake it. It's delicious.
Hey Sadia, I have been following your recipes since over a year now..starting with the overnight oats, smoothies, pastas, salad, noodles, nourish bowls, mug cakes to desserts.. love them all!! The spicy garlic tofu has been one of my favourite so far.. it’s actually the first time I ever tasted tofu and loved it! Thank you 😊
I gently squeeze the tofu as you do. Most times I then put it in the freezer overnight, then take it out to thaw in the morning. It has a really good consistency to soak up marinades this way. Love your recipes!
Sadia, it’s always a pleasure watching your videos. Have you ever frozen, then defrosted, extra firm tofu before draining and cooking with it? I find it gives the tofu an even chewier texture. (I hate mushy, pudding-like tofu). Can I use vegan sour cream instead of yogurt in the tzatziki? All three dishes look wonderful. I would just tone down the “heat” on them.
Sadia, you have no idea how valuable this video is to me today. I have two blocks of tofu that I need to use, but I am tired of all the other dishes I have made with tofu. 😫 I’m definitely trying the buffalo strips since I miss buffalo wings so much while on my journey toward veganism. The skewers look like a win as well!👍🏾🙏🏾
I don’t like cooking and I know I am not gonna cook any of it but I like watching your videos. I really enjoy watching your videos. You sound positive and kind. 🤍
I'm not vegan and I've never cooked with tofu before, but I'm trying to branch out and explore plant-based protein options. I decided to give the spicy garlic tofu a try. It is so delicious! Not like good-for-healthy-food delicious, like restaurant delicious. (Though next time I'll use a nonstick pan to brown the tofu, lol.) I served it as a stir-fry with rice. I sautéed red onion, bell peppers, shiitake mushrooms, and coleslaw mix with another dose of the same sauce as the tofu. Seriously really good! Thanks, Sadia!
Your videos are incredible, Sadia!! The calmness and relaxed vibe and the amazing and creative recipes are sooo cool! You can see that you go the extra mile in every video and put so much work and time into them. Thank you!! 💞😊

Made the skewers, tzatziki sauce and buffalo strips tacos last New Year's Eve. Amazing! Thank you for all the effort you put to make our lives easier! ❤️
hi sadia, i just wanted to share sth. in turkey we make tomato sauces for winters, the season of the year when tomatoes are white and dont have juice. preparation actually changes from family to family. in my family we get rid off the skin with knives; which requires a lot of your time😂, we blend it and make it like a soup , and boil it. then we pour them to jars. so in pastas or whatever you are cooking, you can use those sauces through out the winter. we are making like 50 jars or sth but it depends person to person.
Those look so delicious, thank you!!!!! I especially want to make the sticky garlic dish, yuuuuuuuum!!!!!!!! I use a tofu press, it's pretty inexpensive, I don't know if it's really needed at this point in time with all the different tofus that are firm, extra firm, I use it anyway. I love the idea of freezing tofu, letting it defrost and then tofu pressing it, it leaves holes that supposedly make it so that making fried "chicken" etc. tastes amazing, I have some in our freezer as we speak and I want to give it a go, great idea, right?!!!!! We will see!!!! I love the ideas that you showed us today, thank you again!!!! Stay Safe everyone 😷. 😷. 😷. 😷. 💝Kathy
It is a really versatile ingredient. tastes like whatever you want to do with it and it is very nutritionally practical and useful for people with budgets or who lack time, or energy or need an ingredient that lasts. It’s a very practical food, but for some reason people don’t understand how much you can do with it, so this is a good theme for anyone to explore.
I don't know if you're aware of that Sadia (personnally I discovered it thanks to one of my subscribers), but TH-cam now inserts ads inside all videos (mid roll), without you choosing this option (and even if you decide not to monetize your video). Maybe you chosed it yourself and I totally respect that, but if it's not the case, don't hesitate to check out your monetization settings. And thanks a lot for this new video ! ;-)
I love tofu and can't wait to try these recipes, they look amazing! Especially the last one. I normally press the whole tofu block with my hands and/or place the tofu slices on a kitchen towel, cover them with a kitchen towel and press the moisture out. Then i either use the slices as they are or cut them in smaller pieces, depending on the recipe.
I love tofu. It's the texture that's so special. I like to just slice it, roast it in the oven after spreading balsamic, olive oil, salt pepper and whatever mediterranean herbs I might have on hand. I serve it on the side of any vegetables and grains for a well rounded plate. Thank you for all the great ideas and recipes!
Finally most awaited one in my youtube subscriptions is here 😍.I love watching your videos. They not only about all new things but also very relaxing and stress free videos. I am trying to incorporate few changes since I started watching the videos. These are very useful. Thank you so much
Probably the best way to finish my day and imagining to start my day tomorrow by making one of these😍😍😍❤️ you are amazing, and i love love love pick up limes. Sending loads of positivityy 💕
If you’re like my husband and can’t have cucumber, sub in raw zucchini and some lemon juice to the tzatziki. Its not exactly the same but deeply similar.
Before watching the video, I just rush into commenting, in the hopes of getting a heart on my comment 🙈♥️ Also, the recipes are always so different than what we know and what we make😇💯
My first thought when I saw a video pop up from Sadia was. YAY!!! Something Positive and Happy!!!! Thank You Sadia!!!! Plus the food always looks Amazing!! ❤️🎉🎉🎉❤️💞🌈
My family and I are silly: we love to take a block of tofu and let it rest for about 10 minutes on a plate. No physical pressure, just let the water drain a bit. We pour that off, and then we slice it into large cubes. Lastly, we drizzle over either a thick soy sauce or mushroom sauce with another light drizzle of toasted sesame oil. My two little kiddos demolish that dish quicker than any other on the table. 😆❤️
Sadia I’ve been missing seeing your videos pop up in my subscriptions! Thanks for all you both do on this channel 💕 I love all the recipes and because of your plant propagation video I now have some new baby plants to beautify our home.
ahh what can i say more, these guys are so cute together and also amazing, her voice is so soothing to hear and learn from her. Greetings from Macedonia!!
Thank you for this! I squeeze the liquid out of tofu with my hands, too. The tip to give it even squeezes helped a lot. Also waiting a bit before giving the coated tofu its first flip in the pan produced a nice crispy start and the cubed tofu kept its shape.

I cant wait till you print a cookbook, would love to have one in my kitchen ,, Love your recipes
Hope you are well Sadia and post a video soon. Miss my Sunday morning routine of watching Pick Up Limes while sipping my chai latte with oat milk.
I freeze and defreeze the tofu to get rid of most of its liquids. Then I marinate it in soy sauce with garlic, silan and ginger, and bake it. It's delicious.
That sounds great! What’s silan? I’ve never heard of it.
Do you cut it or put the whole tofu ??
@@rosered6143 Date honey. You can use maple syrup or honey instead.
@@kalam6748 I freeze the whole tofu, and after I defrost and sqeeze it, I cut it to cubes before I marinate and bake it.
Estee Horn thanks ! Will try
Wow beautiful plants on the background. This recipe is very healthy. Definitely will try it tonight
I’ve never tried tofu before & haven’t wanted to, but these recipes just might have changed my mind! Looks yummy!❤️
its ok
Honestly they soak up whatever flavour you add!! Haha very easy food to cook with!
I just made the spicy garlic tofu, and it is absolutely AMAZING!!
Thank you 😊
I hope you see this, just wanted to say i love your comforting oatmeal recipe and have been making it for 2 weeks straight❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
So glad you're enjoying it Jade 😊 thanks so much for sharing!
The skewers look like a win as well!👍🏾🙏🏾
These videos are making me wanting to cook healthy so much and etc. But CAN WE PLEASE ADMIRE THIS BEUTIFUL KITCHEN FOR A MOMENT OK?!
Green kitchen is the best... I wish to have more green kitchen then u sadia mam
I love non vegetarian dishes especially recipes..bt aftr watching your vlog...u inspires me to start veganism
Pick up limes is the only channel where you like the video before watching
Your videos are incredible, Sadia!! The calmness and relaxed vibe and the amazing and creative recipes are sooo cool! You can see that you go the extra mile in every video and put so much work and time into them. Thank you!! 💞😊
I love you soo much Sadia...it's a delight to listen to you- much love and appreciation from India
Made the skewers, tzatziki sauce and buffalo strips tacos last New Year's Eve. Amazing! Thank you for all the effort you put to make our lives easier! ❤️
I just bought tofu to start getting more plant based, this is perfect timing
hi sadia, i just wanted to share sth. in turkey we make tomato sauces for winters, the season of the year when tomatoes are white and dont have juice. preparation actually changes from family to family. in my family we get rid off the skin with knives; which requires a lot of your time😂, we blend it and make it like a soup , and boil it. then we pour them to jars. so in pastas or whatever you are cooking, you can use those sauces through out the winter. we are making like 50 jars or sth but it depends person to person.
oh and we add salt when cooking the sauce
will definitely be trying that last one - looks so delicious!
Tofu is the best! Becoming plant based made me such a fan. It’s nice to have new recipes for it!
😷. 😷. 😷. 💝Kathy
honestly i'm bad at cooking but I watch all your videos because of your voice and how calming it is. I would literally pay for your content gladly
Can I ask you what brand tofu you buy? I'm based in The Netherlands as well but never see "extra firm" tofu, just normal or silken!
And thanks a lot for this new video ! ;-)
Wait does this mean some of the ads wont actually give her money?
Brave Browser blocks all ads including TH-cam's
I think she deserves all the monetization we can support her with💚 I’m glad to watch 15 seconds of ads for her
I didn’t see any ad? But I pay for TH-cam so guessing it’s only on non paying watchers?
I love tofu and can't wait to try these recipes, they look amazing! Especially the last one.
I normally press the whole tofu block with my hands and/or place the tofu slices on a kitchen towel, cover them with a kitchen towel and press the moisture out. Then i either use the slices as they are or cut them in smaller pieces, depending on the recipe.
Hello SADIA again! I had a flavorsome night because of you.I’m thankful to you for this incredible video. Catch ya!!
That RED hot sauce in her pristine WHITE pan on the stove was giving me lo-key anxiety LOL
Do u know whenever im anxious i watch ur videos they have such calming effect
What kinds of pans are these.
Finally most awaited one in my youtube subscriptions is here 😍.I love watching your videos. They not only about all new things but also very relaxing and stress free videos. I am trying to incorporate few changes since I started watching the videos. These are very useful. Thank you so much
Sadia, how are you? Why you’re not uploading a new video?
Look at the post in her Community tab in her channel
I miss the tea time videos. Please make more of those videos 🙏
Taziki is best when served the next day. Let everything rest in the fridge.
These are some of the best recipes I have seen in a while
Probably the best way to finish my day and imagining to start my day tomorrow by making one of these😍😍😍❤️ you are amazing, and i love love love pick up limes. Sending loads of positivityy 💕
I'm from Guyana and vegetarians mostly use chuncks would love to see what recipes you can come up with. Great job as always
If you’re like my husband and can’t have cucumber, sub in raw zucchini and some lemon juice to the tzatziki. Its not exactly the same but deeply similar.
sounds like a good substitution! try adding some celery seed or celery salt to mimic some of the cucumber taste
oh ! my tofu stay in the fridge for 3 months and I did not know what to do. This recipe just the right time. Thank you.
Before watching the video, I just rush into commenting, in the hopes of getting a heart on my comment 🙈♥️ Also, the recipes are always so different than what we know and what we make😇💯
congrats on the heart haha
literally bought like 5 packs of tofu yesterday bc it was on sale and now you post this.... i am in love with u for real thank u so much
Me going to do some work HER UPLOADING: Are you sure ???”
THAT'S ME LOL
Do you cook the tofu? Sounds yummy and easy!
THANK YOU for upping my tofu game! You’ve inspired me to experiment with new vegan recipes. 🙌
Never clicked so fast
Me to!! :)
Haha
I'm drooling over your kitchen and all the stoneware/pottery - such a grounded earthy relaxed vibe - LOVE it
Am I the only one who noticed that she said "soy sauce" and not the usual "sodium reduced soy sauce"?
Where is this the usual? Pretty sure I’m aware of the existence of the sodium reduced kind, but no-one usually says it?
@@alessazoe she usually says "sodium reduced soy sauce"
@@v0368 ikr and because I watch her videos to relax, I pretty much know about all her spices 😂
Lol! But the linked recipe does say reduced sodium :^)
Sadia I’ve been missing seeing your videos pop up in my subscriptions! Thanks for all you both do on this channel 💕 I love all the recipes and because of your plant propagation video I now have some new baby plants to beautify our home.
I think there’s a market for pre-pressed tofu.
ahh what can i say more, these guys are so cute together and also amazing, her voice is so soothing to hear and learn from her.
Greetings from Macedonia!!
Where are you?? I m missing your vdo
Thank you for this! I squeeze the liquid out of tofu with my hands, too. The tip to give it even squeezes helped a lot. Also waiting a bit before giving the coated tofu its first flip in the pan produced a nice crispy start and the cubed tofu kept its shape.
