- The Panasonic image app was once a great app to use for remote control of Panasonic Lumix cameras. However over the years updates have began to make the app less solid in performance and lacking in usability.
In this video I look at some of the problems now introduced and some was to overcome them.

As an FZ10002 owner I am so grateful for this video. I finally understood the problem wasn't (just) me ;)
I'm glad the video was helpful, thank you for the reply.
Thanks Graham this has been a great help
Glad it was of help.
Thanks a lot, Graham, for the helpful instruction of the image app. Your demonstration is very precise and easy to follow. Maybe you can show us in another video how the GPS is working with the modern Pana cameras. This would be very helpful for travelling. Do you know, if the new Pana syncapp (full format cameras) is better programmed and can I use the syncapp also for mft or bridge cameras?
I thought it was something I did! I noticed this as well! The App worked great 5 years ago. Now it makes you look silly trying to make it work! Buggy as all get out! Very frustrating! And such a shame as it was really cool originally!
I wish they would open up the Lumix Sync app to the other camera groups - it is more reliable.
Hello Mr. Houghton, I am trying to connect my new G9 II lumix with the image app and no luck. In the site the camera is not included. In the new LUMIX Sync the camera works fine, although raw format pictures can’t be transfers to IPad or phone via Bluetooth. Do you know if Panasonic got plans to either include the G9 II in the Image app or the raw formats can be included in the Lumix Sync app. Thanks for your help and keep providing us with your wisdom. Best from Puerto Rico, Graham!!!
protect Graham at all cost!!!
I've always found this app interface disappointing, compared to the Sony and Fuji ones. You're spot on about it straying from normal UI conventions.
However the Lumix app is much more functional than the Sony one. It gives me remote control of everything
Graham. Excellent video. I want to remotely control the zoom function on 2 Panasonic camcorders . That’s all I want to do. Can the App initially register with both camcorder and later on I select which camcorder to zoom. I don’t want to have to walk over to the camera and re- register it each time because I am in the audience viewing the camcorder output on large tv screens
Thanks for the video. Have you found some way to overcome the 30 images limit when you want to transfer images from the camera? Typically I shot some hundreds of pictures in a session and then I want to transfer all the pictures to inspect them on a larger screen, so this 30 images limit quickly becomes very annoying…
It’s working fine till now for my FZ300
For the most part it works but reliable connection is something that lets it down.
Hi Graham have you ever done a utube video on Panasonic compact camera tz 70.
Hi Graham like your videos l have a panosonic tz70 but l am struggling to find how to exposer composer button can u help.
I use the lumix sync app I didnt knew this Lumix image app
Thanks Graham. Note that programming apps for Apple is much more difficult than Android because Apple blocks off things that are commonly available in Android. That forces the programmers to come up with work arounds that are often very clumsy. Apple's response is that they do this for "security"...
When you look at the functionality of the Black Magic Cinema camera app on IOS you can see that some programmers can do just about everything with the user interface. The Image app looks very much like it was programmed as a high school project. Such a shame as they have a tremendous enthusiastic market segment with these cameras.
I think it depends on the starting point. I expect the Panasonic app was programmed for Android then converted to Apple. Black Magic, as a high end product, would start with Apple.
Sir please in this case I record but I don't hear any sound how do I do to add sound?
Recently when I’ve transferred photos from camera to iPad they have just gone into the Panasonic image app and not into the photos app on the iPad , so I can’t share them or edit them. This has never happened before. Can anyone help?
Cannot view or transfer images from my fz1000 to my s22 ultra. Neither via WiFi or WiFi-direct. If someone knows a fix, please let me know
I can't even open the sync app
