Looking awesome! I love the way water effects are handled and although there are some minor camera issues this approach shows much more action overall. I wonder if it'd look even better to give a preference to keeping Sonic on screen (near the edge) when the midpoint between them is far away enough that they'd otherwise both be off camera (though I understand there is probably no perfect algorithm that would look great throughout the run with some manual tweaking).
Yeah, I think I'll give the camera a constant bias towards Sonic and will give Tails a cutout if he's off the screen. There are a few instances when Sonic is on the top of the level boundary, so maybe I'll add a few manual keyframes to make sure that the virtual camera scrolls up enough to reveal him.
I could, but honestly, I don't know if anyone but very few people would be interested. You can contact me on discord (Selicre#1158) if you're actually interested in my work, I could share my screen and we could discuss some stuff on it.
Crazy the amount of clipping locations xD

@@Selicre I'm happy to see this endeavor coming along so well and I look forward to future updates :D
I dunno if you'll stream your work of Atlas encodes...
