    Hope you enjoyed this video! Wasn't sure if this was enough footage to make an interesting video of me essentially bolting stuff together. Let me know below in the comments! Don't forget iSaveTractors.com designs and makes engine parts! Check us out at: www.isavetractors.com

    That’s a rare pile of iron - the factory 3 point kit 👍. Nice score. It’s definitely good to be the iSaveTractors guy 🤠.

    Norm, I wish I could find those old tractors like you do, you have the luck of an Irishman when it comes to finding that stuff. Any Time I see that stuff for sale people seem to want a fortune for it.

      It happens. Patience is key to find the right deals. When a relative passes away or someone moves is when you can get these types of machines for cheap. Diligence is key. Keep a daily eye on online classifieds. Another way to get these cheap is through estate sales and auctions. Find your local auctioneer and sign up for their newsletter

    Excellent work Norman. The Ford LGT 145 is my all time favorite garden tractor. I used one of those for many hours back in the day. The 3pt is a good addition to those. Thanks for sharing the information on how you remedied the lifting capabilities.

    That front end was the most beautiful monstrosity I think I've ever seen fitted to a tractor of that size. Definitely one of those 'stand back and admire what I've done!' moments. 👍
    Glad you got the back end sorted out. Mechanical advantage, but me being me, I'd box the hell out of the frame til you could hang it from a tree and worry more about the tree coming down.

    Nice job, Norman. You make the coolest mods. Good explanation on how old tractors are basically run on simple mechanical principles. I like that you're fine with use WD-40 and Super Start batteries; nothing fancy.

    This is just the video I needed to see! I have a Ford LGT165 (closed side) with the factory 3pt, and I have been entirely unimpressed with its weight lifting capacity. Like you, I noticed that smaller hole on the rotator bracket, but I haven’t got around to trying it out yet. Thanks for taking the testing/guess work out of it for me! As soon as the weather warms up, I will be making this change!

      @@rydplrs71 Exactly, just look at that transaxle, it is at about 4x the size of a new toro lawn mower. My cub cadet 169 or my John Deere 212 rear axles are like an actual farm tractor.

    Could I "Possibly" make a Modified Lift Arm for my 1991 Craftsman GT6000 with an Electric Actuator?
    I made an "Anti-Float" Block for more Down-Pressure, and It works OK, But I also Upgraded to a "Cat-0" Lower Link for even more Down-Pressure.
    These OE Electric Actuators are getting REAL HARD to find, and they are also Non-Rebuildable. I don't want to have to convert to a Hydraulic Setup.

  • @paulg444
    @paulg444 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Norm, greatly appreciate you. I now want to fabricate a 3 point hitch for my cubcadet169. I have the rocker arm and hydraulic ram installed and why should i pay over 100$ for one of those stock cub cadet sleeve hitches when I can have a fully functional beefy 3point hitch.

    just a thought but I would have not cut out that fender notch. An alternative solution would be to raise the body fender with hockey pucks and longer bolts.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That would interfere with the pedals. No harm in cutting out the knock out, that's what its for. Thanks for your comment and for watching.

    I am rebuilding one now. Are you going to start to carry more parts for theses tractors and the Jacobsen's? I will be ordering your engine rebuild kit fairly soon. Can you do a video on installing the tiller if you have one and a snow blower? Bushings for the 3 point. front axle pivot deck carriage be nice. and seals and bushing for the little pump.

      And something to replace the plastic bushing under the steering wheel on the steering shaft.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We are working on more parts like that. Right now we are doing more parts for IH Cub Cadet and Wheel Horses but the Ford/Jakes are on the list. For that steering wheel bushing, I machine my own out of aluminum.

    Looked like it wasn't going down as low after you moved the attachment point, or was that an illusion. Was that the difference in using the slot vs a rigid mount?

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're right. With the new hole I do trade lifting power with travel distance. I however have a box blade on it now and it still goes low enough for use. The slot is "float"
