    The world needs more guys like you .. i like to see you build a small tractor from scratch ... you would build it as a little tractor should be

    I just picked up an LGT 145 yesterday It's in semi rough shape but runs good ....... There's a lot missing from it as far as the accessories so I am glad I found your site. I am going to put up a video of it later this evening if you are interested in seeing it......I plan to get it into as working shape as yours......Thanks for sharing ....... Duane

    Great old Ford garden tractor. Been a Wheelhorse guy for years, but I admire the quality of that Ford. Never knew they offered a quality unit that size in hydrostat.
    Great video thanks

    I love your videos. I find myself binge watching your videos. I've seen most of them 3 or 4 times and just rewatch them. I have a Farmall B that I have modified and after watching your videos (over and over repeatedly) I now want to downsize. I'm thinking a Case 446 but can't quite convince my wife. Lol. What tractors do you recommend? Need hydraulics and 3 point hitch.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks for your message. For you I can recommend the Simplicity Powermax Tractors, Case/Ingersoll 446, 448, 4118, 4020. John Deere 318, 400, 425, 445. For slightly smaller but as capable: Cub Cadet 149, 169, Ford LGT 145, 165. All of the ones I listed have or you can get 3 point hitches for.

    hi I have 2 lgt125's one my grandfather bought new and the other I bought 4 years ago.. I have the oem front loader, rototiller, snowblower, one ear plow, a blade for the front, seeder, and also have a set of Goodyear agricultural tires for the rear.. I love my two tractors and would never sell them. one burns oil pretty bad and the other once it gets hot will stop and I have to let it cool a while before it will start.. I was wondering for the k series kohler do you think I could do a piston ring job myself? are there a lot of special tools needed? and what do you think could be the problem on the one that once it's warm it stops?

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Joshua Latreille Hi Josh, yes you can change the piston rings yourself. I have some youtube tutorials on measuring your cylinder, and a video on how to install rings and piston coming out in the next week or so. It's not a difficult process. Some tools you will need is an bore gauge, calipers or micrometer, piston ring expander tool, piston ring compressor tool, and a torque wrench. All can be purchased for cheap or you can borrow them for free from your local auto parts store. If you have two tractors, you may want to invest in these tools anyways. Regarding the getting hot and stopping. That is a common symptom of a worn ignition system. I suggest you try changing your spark plug, points, condenser, and possibly ignition coil. We sell all of those parts at www.isavetractors.com. Let me know if you have any further questions.

  • @ThePadutch
    @ThePadutch 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Norman, have you done any experimenting with duel rear wheels? I have several JD 318's I have built front end loaders and various accessories for and have wanted to add rear axle extensions for duel rear wheels but I'm not sure the axle/hubs would take the stress from the added leverage of he outside wheel. Any thoughts?

    Ok I'd love a loader for my LGT 100, but we also do have a brand new JD 1025r so I don't need it necessarily. I do want to put a back grader blade on though however. I know brinely makes them for lawn tractors but I don't have any lift mechanism whatsoever. I've never had very good luck wiring in anything on a lawn mower without killing the battery. Not sure how to get around this. So what would I need to install a back blade and how would I go about the wiring? I also don't have headlights. Something I wish I had

    With your chain hooked to the lift/lower linkage for the rear hitch...has it interfered with the reverse travel pedal at all? I have the bars that are original to the tractor lgt 145 and withnthe two bars joined, i cant depress the reverse pedal! Forward still has full motion but the reverse pedal wont budge at all.

    I have a Ford it looks just like this doesn’t have the rear three point hitch or the front clutch for the hydraulic pump but it has a lower pulley that runs a snowblower with a belt I have the snowblower it’s like 48 inches very interesting seeing this first one I ever seen like this The rear end on this thing for a lawnmower is very serious cause I have the lawnmower all I know is when you turn the corner and that deck wheel grabs the grass it peels it up like nothing chop sleeves like a grizzly Scott three blades and 42 inches

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Alain Paquette It is a hydraulic gear pump. I don't know the exact specs but my guess is it it a 3 - 6 GPM Gear Pump or a 2 - 4 GPM. These gear pumps are very common and readily available from a Hydraulic Supply Store.

    what do you think of the loader so far. have you had any problems with the frame and the loader?? I have a Jacobson with identical frame and rear end and want a loader for it

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This frame is a very strong frame perfect for a front end loader. I have not had any problems with it. In fact I am currently filming me using it to excavate a large area to install a horse arena. The transmission and Transaxle are both very strong, and the front spindles very strong as well. I have 3 extra sets of spindles but never needed them, and I abuse this tractor. My only suggestion is to limit your hydraulic pressure to a low setting like 300 to 500 PSI or lower. Mine can only pick up about 400 lbs before the relief valves kick on. But I have run into roots full speed and the frame has not been damaged at all.

    Where is the bendx for the starter? Also I thought there was something you have to press to turn the gas off when you shut off the ford lgt 145 & where is it at?

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Rhys Wollam The Bendix for the starter is at the top of the starter closest to the flywheel. To turn off the LGT all you have to do is throttle down and turn the ignition switch off. Most tractors with gravity fed fuel will have a fuel shut off valve you should turn off when finished. I have my fuel shut off in the fuel line, but other people use the fuel valve at the bottom of the tank. I hope that helps.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes not the best spot for the pump. I have banged it up in the past. This is mainly used for scooping manure so it normally isnt a problem.

    • @Isavetractors

      You can find them on craigslist a couple of times a year. You can use any loader made for a garden tractor, then you would have to modify or build a new subframe. You can also build a loader from scratch. You can get plans at www.loaderplans.com and watch my video series where I build one from start to finish.
