This has got to be one of the best Christmas films I've seen! I loved seeing more of Kevin and his heart for doing good despite his misfortune. He has a good soul and it was fantastic seeing him take on the "Sticky Bandits" out of love for those children and not just his own survival. Enjoy :)

The most satisfying moment for me is how Kevin called out Uncle Frank for being a cheapskate. That man always treats Kevin badly for no good reason and it felt so good seeing Kevin put him in his place.
Well he is a jerk
They all were jerks in the sequel, especially for being gullible enough to buy Buzz's halfa-sed apology. I get that in the first movie, the way Kevin acted out was unacceptable for trying to be noticed in a sea of mayhem, but here, he was fully in the right to stand up for himself. When his own family is laughing at his humiliation, they all deserve getting a white turtle 🕊dove flipped off to them.
He acted the exact same way in the last movie. Frank is taking these luxury vacations on the dime of both of his more successful younger brothers
It should have been Peter and Kate who put Frank in his place, especially since Peter is paying for his trip and Frank and his family are staying in Peter and Kate's house.
@@srichardf That would require competence. The entire McAllister family is, by and large, extremely short on such a commodity. Kevin turned out astonishingly well, considering the idiots he’s surrounded by.
"The traps arent designed to kill" *first contact is a brick thrown down 3 stories and hits someone in the head*
4 times over even! God Marv's lucky to walk away from that without any brain injury... Actually... Nah, he was like that before the bricks, even...
Just all the falling is enough for a spinal fracture or brain injury. Found all these funny as a child, but as an adult that works in the health service, I can’t help but cringe every time 😅
I cringed back then and found the cartoon damage inflicted on the bandits very violent. I felt at the time there was a complete silliness in the cartoon world that should never be attempted by humans. I never agreed with the cross over..
@@kemipue The least deadly thing is the STAPLE GUN lol and that says a lot
A brick thrown from that height WILL kill, no ifs, ands, or buts. And, don't get me started with the electrocution. @@kemipue
9:00 don't worry, Americans make the same face when we see our beautiful towers in old movies 😂
Yeah I had to rewind it to see why he was looking like that THENNN I saw. I immediately made the same face 😂
at 9 minutes is crazy 😂
Now hold up😂
@@JakeVillanueva-t2g
not just Americans. Merry Christmas to you from Russia.
@MariaStarkTargaryen, oh, nice to meet here fellow Russian 😊 where are you from?
Greetings for everyone reading from Saint-Petersburg 🎄
Marv's Scream is Iconic and honestly one of the best screams ever.
Between that one and the one from the first movie when he has the spider on his face, he really has the best screams 😂
@theogrebert4610 No. I men that is funny but not nearly as funny as with the birds attacking him and he's screaming like he's being murdered. To me that's hilarious.
An interesting fact about the hotel bill.
$967 today would be a little over $2000. And on room service alone. Yikes. 🥶
tbh parents deserved that. how can u forget and don't give a single sht about your own child..when I was younger this movie was so much fun and lovely, but rewatching it in adulthood: this is a horror movie for me😶
@@bartoluf
"Don't give a single sht about your own child"
Did we watch the same movie?
Parental Sixth Sense kicking in at (7:06), she's only "put at ease" because she trusts her husband.
Does not need explanation (8:03).
Is clearly conversing with authorities to LOCATE the child (9:04).
This scene (16:12-16:20).
Is STILL clearly conversing with authorities to locate the child (23:52).
Berates Hotel Staff for scaring the child into the streets of New York, before going out by herself ALONE to look for him (29:20).
Look, I absolutely despise the current family dynamic, but by all stretch of logic anyone with a brain can see that with FOURTEEN PEOPLE and Absolute Panic amongst them, the trek to the plane won't be the easiest or the most stable. Things can happen in a rush, things can be lost, and in this case, PEOPLE. When things are in order, it's chaos for the family, and managing them takes much effort, and things in this case were NOT in order.
They're abysmal parents who need to do better, but saying they flat out don't care about their child is a lie.
@@I.T.P ha, all of that WOULDN'T HAPPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE if BOTH PARENTS‼️ weren't so irresponsible for not checking the alarm (they woken up late TWICE!) and for not checking for your child if he's ready to go!! in the first movie NOBODY even thought about waking Kevin up...and every other normal parent would check if he's child is okay and he's there before traveling to another place, especially another country!!! I would literally DIE but make sure that my child is here with me and everything is okay!!! so please, don't need to excuse their bad parenting!!! Kevin deserved better family.
@@bartoluf So does me saying I “absolutely despise the family dynamic” and saying “They’re Abysmal Parents” mean I support the way they treat Kevin?
My comment was directed toward your belief that his family did not give two shits about Kevin, or at least the impression you gave that it was your belief.
I simply aimed to provide my own point of view, despite the lack of prompting, that they do care about Kevin, just not enough.
If I came off as hostile in my original comment, I apologize, it was not my intent
I don't really know how he could rack up that much in 1 day although he did get underwear laundered and stole a heap of cookies when he left.
Your face at 9:00 is brilliant. Just the moment of realisation dawning is priceless.
I don't get it?
@@clarkness77it’s the twin towers bro 😭
@@clarkness77 The buildings are The Twin Towers.
@ It’s the twin towers of the world trade centre. This film was made before the 911 attacks. He’s making that face because of how obviously famous those towers are now.
@@clarkness77the twin towers don’t exist anymore. Two planes crashed into them and many people died ( in 2001 )
Kevin’s argument, “If some guy looked at you in the shower, would you ever want to see him again?” was clever but he was pushing it when he said, “I don’t think you’ll see my dad for the rest of our trip.”
I've always found strange that 1 of the 1st things the lady said to him was that she needed to see his dad,at some point,to sign a few things and then never asked about him ever again. I'm very bad ad bureaucracy even now that I'm 36 and yet, even as a child,I knew that was an impossible scenario. If you don't wanna make me notice this detail just *don't mention it!* The moment you do,it will stuck in my brain for the rest of the movie _and_ my life!!😵
@@royalreptile923 hence why Curry got even more suspicious
I actually love the 2nd movie more but the first is ICONIC. I do like how they set up him being alone again.
43:32 😅 actually I did some research and by today’s amount that’s $2174 US dollars or $3485 AUS dollars
So it’s still a lot.
@@sonic18shadowIf I’m not mistaken, wasn’t Kevin at the hotel for basically 2-3 nights?
That kind of room service expense for such a short time is insane.
Me too I also like Home Alone 3 as well I think the first three Home Alone movies are the best in which ever order you like
I love that macaulay culkin when he sees catherine o'hara still calls her mom and she calls him mom loved seeing her at his walk of fame ceremony
Me as a kid vs me as an adult.
Scene: Harry's beanie catches on fire.
Kid me: 🎶Ha ha, you have to use the toilet water.🎶
Adult me: Take off your hat. Take off your hat! TAKE OFF YOUR HAT!!!!
He's a crikinal
Me as an adult: He is a Kappa now hahahhahaha! (I am so mean).
24:50 I can’t imagine why that Cab Driver would tell a scared child, “It ain’t much better in here,” after Kevin said it was scary outside. Like what do you mean man? What’re you gonna do? 😬
It can be interpreted that way when you're the passenger for sure.
From the driver's POV, outside people get inside the cab.
Driver doesn't know what kind of person the passenger is, and with each ride the destination is unknown until the person says so, and it's uncertain if the driver will get paid or robbed or worse. Mobile phones were not widespread and cabs only took cash as payment back then.
I always thought he was just referring to his looks
@meli4373 I also thought he was referring to his appearance .
But other comment is deeper about shonky dangerous passengers
Can we pls talk about how brilliant Tim Curry is in this one 😂😂😂 I just love his expressions
Tim Curry acting legend status
He definitely was!! What happened to Tim curry anyways though the last movie I saw with him was The Secret of moonacre and after that he disappeared from Hollywood all together.
@Jess-y7c did you see Tim Curry in some Cameo videos youtube in last couple of years ? He had a stroke and has been in a wheel chair and talking affected etc
@@Jess-y7cHe got a stroke around 2015 which left him permanently paralyzed and unable to walk, wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. He has trouble talking and remembering. It’s heartbreaking 😢
Tim Curry is an international treasure and is brilliant in everything he does.
Fair warning: The remaining Home Alone movies are widely considered nowhere near as good.
I don't know about that, I still really like the 3rd one at least 😅❤
3 & 4 were better than 1 & 2 don't @ me
@@MikeRepppthat is a crazy take but a respectable one
3 & 5 are okay, I at least had a fun time watching them once.
3 was tolerable, after that, best consider it the end of the series, what, there were no further movies, nah.
When they said we will notify the credit companies, you would think they would have notified them that a kid was missing, not that the card was stollen. That way they would have been able to find him without him being accused of being a thief and scaring the heck out of him, forcing him to live on the run, in the park, in newyork city.
There probably wasn't a good way for the system to flag a card as "lost child trying to use it". Flagging it as stolen would be the easiest way to be notified.
One of the very few sequels worthy of a side-by-side companion title to the first film. So hilarious!
That cameo was because he owned the hotel and would only let them film there if he could make an appearance.
Imagine being that rich.🤣🤣🤣
@@Heroliesinyou Oh I dream about it all the time.
I’d buy a load of chickens and set them lose on the world 😂
@@ajandrianjafymusic I'd buy an island for me and my family.
"Owned" passed tense because Trump lost it after borrowing heavily to finance his purchase of the hotel but couldn't generate enough income to service the network of loans and tried to sell before his creditors liquidated the asset; Trump lost the Plaza by 1995.
The sequel is my favorite. Kevin's mom screaming, "KEVIN!" at 8:05 cracked me up every time. The traps keeps getting better and funnier. The hotel was too much
🎄🎄🎄🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣
Her smile always creeped me out, so unnatural. But it's like the main quirk of her. She still does it, I recently watched Argylle, and she's there too, with the same creepy smile.
9:00 The saddest part about this is that this is the only shot in the film that can't be replicated today... Oh, and also Duncan's toy store.
What happened to the store?
11:10 actually he made a cameo in this because he owns the hotel (at least during the time of this movies release I don’t know if he still owns it or not).
He doesn't. Not since '95.
This movie proves that sequels can be as good if not better than the original, Merry Christmas Cocoa Couch you are a joy to all of us.
just like Terminator 2
18:10 Oh Oscar, that's TOTALLY me: when I was a kid in the 90s, there were sooooooo many things at the shopping mall that I would have loved to buy, but I had no money and my mom was on a budget. Now that I'm an adult with steady income... all the stores that I would have shopped in are gone: the bookstores, the toy stores, the video game stores, the Disney store... Thankfully there's still some stores left open that I occasionally find stuff in, but still...
The Home Alone movies were like those ol' school cartoons, where the coyote gets blown up, still alive, cut to next scene, Tom is teying to catch Jerry, gets burnt, etc. 😂😂😂
To me, these first two Home Alone movies are the best examples of Looney Tunes come to life. And Harry and Marv are perfect cartoon villains for a 10 year old
Kevin’s parents are beyond negligent and it makes me laugh 😂😂 like you’re in charge to make sure your kids are walking infront of you
Exactly. You would think that after what happened last year that Kate and Peter would make sure Kevin never left their sight.
Well, it's the day before Christmas for those of us in the US, but very glad your Christmas was wonderful! What a great movie to react to!

Kevin is SO creative AND assertive. Sure he makes mistakes, but so does everyone. Thats how we learn.
Loving that you say this one is great because Kevin is so loving, and that he sets traps just to injure not to kill, and then you get to the traps and they’re SO much more diabolical and deadly than the first 😂😂😂
28:53 absolutely LIVING for the moment you realized Kevin wasn't messing around anymore and was out for BLOOD this time 😭you're such a delight to watch react to my fav christmas movies!
The concierge is played by Tim Curry! He's a fantastic actor, some of his most notable roles are in Clue (which I think you would love), Rocky Horror Picture Show, and my personal favorite, Nigel Thornberry in The Wild Thornberries.
and the first Pennywise! So agree with you on "Clue"!
He also played Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island
0:04 "This is coming out either on Christmas day or the day after." He says on Christmas Eve in EST
boy’s in australia that’s why😂 I mean merry christmas anyway
which is Christmas day his time.
The glee you express at the traps is what we all feel seeing them!
There's a YT video where doctors react to the injuries Marv and Harry get- I think you'd get a kick out of it.
Kevin knows how to play his cards right his master traps are genius.
8:55 The fact that The movie ends with the bill and you say that is hilarious
give this to Kevin give this to Kevin give this to Kevin Kevin’s not here Kevin’s not here Kevin’s not here ahahahahaha… KEVIN. Honestly Kevin’s arc in this movie is incredible and this is why it’s my favourite one even buzz has one
Fun fact: when they were filming the pigeon scene with Marv and Harry , a pigeon flew into Marv’s mouth
😂 I know I shouldn't laugh but yeah that would make me scream
that recorder thing Kevin had at the beginning of the movie I remember that toy's commercials
I remember how hard they marketed the "Talkboy" and then a "Talkgirl". I got a "Talkgirl" pen as a kid, loved it. Nice holiday reaction-Merry Christmas!
The moment when Movie Man accuses Tim Curry's character of "smoochin everybody" never fails to make me laugh. His confused embarrassment, his coworkers' shocked and bewildered expressions (that one dude coincidentally being named Cliff) It gets me every time.
The scene where he gives her the turtle dove has always been my favorite ♥️🕊️
I love the absolute looney tunes logic of the traps and how they work. Is it realistic? No, not even as vaguely realistic as the first one. But it's just so freaking FUN!
Christmas Vacation is the same way, another great John Hughes classic. They're great fun. They never take themselves too seriously. Are they high art? Are they Citizen Kane? Obviously not. But for what they are, Home Alone 1 and 2, and Christmas Vacation are the best
The dad unplugging the clock made no sense...last year the power went out effecting EVERYONE. This time is was just the parents clock....NOBODY ELSE SET AN ALARM? NOBODY ELSE WOKE UP????
Makes sense considering how much of a leech they make the rest of the family seem
Also the fact that after what happened the previous year with a power outage causing them to sleep in, that they wouldn't have had back up batteries in that alarm clock.
@@srichardf True.
13:35 I've watched this movie dozens of times... And this is how I learn that the gangster movie this time around is called "Angels with _even filthier_ souls".
I was cracking up.🤣
Peter McCallister can pay for a vacation for not only his family but for Frank's family as well, but flips out over a $967 room service bill?
I have a friend who was an extra in the airport scene as a kid. Apparently, she had a huge crush on Macaulay Culkin, and when they were shooting that scene, the director paused to tell her to focus on being an extra and stop staring at Mac!
I miss those towers ): as someone who watched everything unfold in person, it hits hard ❤️
I just realized it's been decades since I've seen that movie. But I've seen it so many times that I remembered what every step of Kevin's preparation were for.
I also remembered some of the emotional scenes, including pieces of dialogues, but at the time they weren't as impactful to me. I was just a kid who wanted to see the traps and the looney toon logic that somehow maintained the thieves alive through an explosion right next to the head.
Thanks for giving me a new appreciation for this movie. Happy holidays.
So glad to see you post this today, because I am STRUGGLING! I loved your Home Alone reaction from last year, and you have the best vibes.
Florida is a tropical climate so snow is scarce. It's likely you'll get more rain than snow if you spend Christmas there. Most people go in the spring and summer since they have great beaches.
Since this was in 1992 $967 would be $2174.50 today, or 3413.26 Australian dollars... so not exactly ok
i know the hotel room service bill 967 dollars didnt seem as much , but put in mind the movie was released in 1992 :D trust me it was a LOT back then.
That would be close to $2,200 in todays rate. The Plaza hotel was also around $6--$800/night and is now over $4,000+. per night
lmaoooooo, your reaction at 9:00 was an exact reflection of mine
While I'm not a fan of how this movie just erased the development from the first, I do like how it's in a different setting and the subplot with the toy store.🤗
Also, I just love how sweet Kevin is, but how he's also a psychopath with the robbers🤣🤣
Technally speaking kevin never stole the credt card
8:13 AHHH. I just recognized Ally Sheedy from the best movie ever made… if you don’t know is THE BREAKFAST CLUB, directed by John Hughes 1985. She played the basket case Allison!!!
OMG, I NOW SEE IT!!!!
Fun fact, that little device Kevin was using is called a Talk Boy. It was just as popular as the Furbies back in the 80's.
Bro, your videos always just give my heart the biggest smile we need more people in this world like you and you’re pretty special yourself
We have a wet Christmas here, it's raining continuously, and i love it, cuz normally it's hot wear here, and its summer here❤
Odd how the hotel staff never say to the parents when they show up, "Well who was the boy with? Cause some man was in the shower singing and he said it was his father!" The parents would be like there was some man with Kevin!!!! Even though it was a blow up clown lol.
There are a lot of fun actors and cameos in this movie. I just love Tim Curry in this 😂😂
Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄
"At least his traps aren't designed to kill" hahaha....yeah... 'inconvenience' xD absolutely loved your reaction! It's amazing.
They are almost deadly. I felt too much pity for the bandits in these movies. Sure, they are villains, but no one deserves this...
Fun fact: In 1988, Donald Trump actually bought the Plaza Hotel for $390 million dollars! So when they were making this movie, he was still the owner of it which is why he made a cameo in this film!
11:00 Kevin gets a Monica and Chandler moment ("I heard you saw Donald Trump?"))))

The perfect video to end Christmas Eve ❤ Thanks for being our cozy film buddy and merry Christmas to you and your family.
I remember getting lost in town centre around age 6. i wondered away from my mum to look at toys in shop windows and then noticed i was lost in a crowd of Christmas shoppers. I panicked and started to cry, thankfully a group of old lady's helped me find my mum. It be an absolute nightmare taking different planes and being in a different city/country lost away from parents 👀😅
If you think Kevin's traps weren't death sentences, you should check out doctors reacting to Home Alone injuries 😆
OH, YES! I just commented, requesting this, on your previous 'Home Alone' reaction. I'm glad you got around to this earlier this month, so we can see it now.
This is my favourite Christmas film, even over the first, with 'How The Grinch Stole Christmas' being somewhere up there too. Granted, it's strongly borrowing from the first film, but I just find it hits those emotional beats even harder. I will always cry at the end of the first film with Kevin seeing Marley out of the window with their family, but this one with the Christmas shop and the turtle doves... ❤❤❤❤
They do the same character arc, but more developed (Marley is a B-plot that links in at the end of the first film, whereas here, you have the same with the Pigeon Lady (though they labour the point of them being creepy less before moving onto their true nature) but it connects to the toy store which itself is intrinsically relevant to the main plot, making the whole thing feel even more well rounded) and damn if it's not heart-wrenching.
As for the rest of the sequels, 'Home Alone 3' isn't at the legendary status of the first two, but I remember it being decent (at least, I thought so as a child). The initial premise is similar, but it has a few of its own ideas, a different director (though same scriptwriter) and different characters, so it stands out enough in the franchise. 'Home Alone 4' is awful though. I laughed a grand total of once. It returns to some of the characters from the first film, but with different casting (and not even an attempt to make the new actors look like the old ones), so you end up with these really awkward moments of "It's you, character who I definitely know, even though we are both clearly different people." That's not as big an issue as just the film not being funny, but it cements the "Oh my goodness, why on Earth was this made?" status of it. And I haven't seen 'Home Alone: The Holiday Heist' (which feels like it has the least film-specific subtitle for a franchise film ever; are they not all holiday heists), nor 'Home Sweet Home Alone'. It's also worth mentioning the fourth and fifth films were made for TV, and the sixth made for Disney+.
Long story short, try 'Home Alone 3' next year. Don't compare it to the first two. Watch it as its own thing. It's probably good that you're separating each of these by a year in that case. Steer clear after 3 though (at least of 4; I don't know if anyone recommends 5 and 6).
2:22 - As someone who works in a school, I concur. Unless the culture of 1992 USA (I live in England) was wildly different, everyone in the audience would be feeling sorry for that one kid and despairing or being ashamed of the one playing up. Buzz would be in so much trouble with the teacher and parents afterwards for that.
15:43 - Try going to Australia from England. 😅I'd love to go, but I feel like I'd need to spend a good amount of time there to justify the cost.
The same goes for you, I suppose. - I've been told by a couple of Australians during my travels that when you come to a European country, you tend to do a bunch of countries in one trip, and do it during your Winter.
17:59 - DON'T TEMPT HOLLYWOOD. You just invoked several studio executives and the plans have already started.
29:14 - (proceeds to 100% kill these people multiple times if this were real life. I feel like they could have plausibly survived the first film (though Harry's head being burned would have required a speedy A&E visit), but the bricks, the electrocution, the explosion... They're dying here for sure.
11:06 Donald Trump actually owned the Plaza Hotel at the time! Also they removed the carpet for a later scene and Donald Trump actually liked it so much that he kept it like that!
YES! I was hoping you'd do Home Alone 2 this year. Merry Christmas everybody!!
33:45 In fairness to Marv, he got hit by how many bricks (each an easy concussion and a possible skull fracture) in about 2 minutes? I'm surprised he's walking.
For a really long time after the Towers fell, the TV edit of the movie never showed that scene. I basically grew up not knowing it existed. So that shot of the Towers facing Liberty and West, then him on the observation deck of the South Tower had me in tears when I watched the unedited version last week. I've never cried at anything in this movie before. Can't say that now.
That’s so funny, I was literally going to comment on your last video asking if you could watch Home Alone 2 since you watched the first one over a year ago! I am now very happy 😂
I love to see you emotional with these wonderful movies. Merry Chrissie Oscar, I hope you have a beautiful time with your loved ones. And Merry Christmas to your subscribers too.

In the eightes and ninetes there were alot of movies that had kids make traps on unsuspecting adults that were also idiots. The Home Alone franchise and the 3 Ninjas franchise are a few of them and a lot of them were very entertaining too.
This film never fails to make me emotional it embodies the pure spirit of Christmas , Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone. ❤
"I love when you spend enough time in their perspectives and not Kevin's, he seems like the villain" I'm 100% on board with the theory he grows up to become Jigsaw, slightly more jaded, but still teaching lessons with his little games.
Tons of people don't like Home Alone 3, but I think if you view it as it's own movie instead of a branch of Home Alone 1 and 2 it can be a pretty good story.
