The "EAT" sign over the toilet! 🤣🤣🤣
🤣😂 I was looking for this comment!
😭 he would have that over the toilet 🤣🤣
"Toilet humor"
And the spoon...hi lar e ous 😂
And the giant spoon on the other wall! 🤣
There is something about having a nice clean bright bathroom even if the rest of the place is in shambles -- it allows you to feel clean and new after every challnege and every new day. The progress looks great and I look forward to more!
I'm amazed at so many things you know how to do,great job looks great.
Love the kitchen decor in the bathroom. Now you just need that sign that says “Do it, lick the bowl.”
😂😂😂
As an autistic guy every time I visit your channel I get the chance to learn more about not just how to clean things but also through your stories about a condition that's been kind of shoved under the rug in terms of the general populous. But also a sense of satisfaction of seeing something be cleaned properly or installed as is the case with this video in particular. I hope at some point to be able to live independently but as of right now I depend on my family quite a bit as mentally I am just not there yet. I wish the best of luck with Jason and his partner, raising a kid ain't easy and to hear your insight on stuff really gets my mind thinking more broadly and with an open mind than I used to prior.
I love the long paternity leave! The company The Hubs worked at offered him 2 weeks unpaid leave for him…his coworkers pooled together one week and his boss matched it. It was amazing…short but better than most at the time. When the second was born he had 2 weeks as well…paid though. Other countries give months!
I was seriously impressed at how straight you were placing the tiles without spacers! 😂😂. The built in spacers are cool. You guys are making this look so easy. That was a LOT of hard work. It looks really nice.
Love the bathroom. You answered 2 questions for me. Thank you for the update on Emily and 30:59 Jason. It's awesome that you are giving Jason well-deserved time to be helpful with the baby. Can't wait to see the pictures of the grand baby.
Can I ask why you said "helpfull with the baby" and not something like "be a dad" because it implies to me and many others that its the mothers responsibility and the dad is just there to help her, its not like women have a instant download of knowing what to do, dad can read labels and books and watch youtube too to learn 😊
One of the most addictive and mesmerizing channels is Cole the Cornstar. A young guy, fifth generation farmer completely gutting, expanded and rebuilding his great great grandfather’s farm house and farm. He bought/inherited the farm from his grandfather who was a hoarder...in the house, in the many outbuildings and literal tons of “stuff” all over the “yard”. He also farms 2,000 acres and we follow along and learn what it really takes to be a farmer. I never knew I was interested in either of those things but how eagerly await each video.
What a beautiful son you have Mack! He is always there to help you. What a blessing. You are both a wonderful team
Midlife stockman is hands-down THE best lawn care channel on the internet IMHO.
Editing, compassion, detail, morale. He's got it all. Like really, just...I can't say enough about the guy. He's amazing.
Oh and I agree. No one is better than detailgeek. No one.
I second that. Sean is absolutely the best at yard care along with a few others. 😊
YES!! I watch his videos all the time and always feel encouraged by his kind heart towards his fellow man. ❤Oh yeah, and He’s an awesome landscaper, too! 😅
Ammo NYC is also quite amazing at detailing even though some parts are him selling his products (gotta make a buck I guess) rather than suggesting affordable alternatives. Rescuing a flooded BMW to show how much labors involved was remarkable.
100% agree
Sean is such a compassionate, caring, generous man. I love how he goes the extra mile to help those in need.
Thanks Mack- prayers that things keep moving forward in a positive way.
Good call on your comments on parenting - best luck to Jason and his partner on the baby. Glad Em is all set and wishing her a quick, painless recovery. Nice job on the tub - I always learn something from you!
And there it is. The before and after of your new bathroom. Honestly Mack .... WOW!
I,love the fact that Jason and you are working together and literally making memories to look back on. You are right not many people can afford to,fix their homes and the sad part is it only gets worse. Great job on the bathroom and very educational if I ever have to redo a bathroom (not). Have a great week and you don’t hurt your back, love the eat sign and the spoon😂😂😂
I am loving the blue accents/cabinets/door! Really pops against the white walls and brings some needed color into the stark white bathroom.
Love how you had the expertise of Dakota supervising your work 🐶
Thank you for demonstrating how to caulk a bathtub! It's on my to-do list and I've been anxious about it. I love the path you're on, and I like this series of videos where you're fixing up your new home. I'm glad Emily is doing well. ❤
Thank you for answering a question that no one has been able to answer for me regarding the corners of tile in a bathroom. You have no idea how much that has helped me. Love your channel. My best to your son and his new family.
Watching you and Jason work so beautifully together, made me think of the song - Teach Your Children Well. What you give one another, priceless. ❤
Get out!! I was listening to CSN today! What a beautiful song and so true❤
@@angelabeatty6538 I love that song, and their music.
OMG same! "Teach Your Children" by CSNY and "Landslide" by Stevie Nicks will absolutely give me the feels, especially because as a middle-aged Millennial parent, those songs hit different than they did the first time I heard them on the local oldies station as a teenager.
I renovated my bathroom myself 2 years ago. NOT EASY! You did a fabulous job. I had trouble with the plumbing under the sink. Had to call the professionals. I AM NOT A PLUMBER! Found that out the hard way. But the rest looked GREAT!
Wishing Jason and his wife the very best! I hope she has a short and uncomplicated labour. Prayers for Emily.
Joint compound over the construction adhesive is a brilliant idea. Thanks!
I thought that’s how it’s supposed to be done.
Nice job. Had to laugh at the "eat" sign and spoon in the room. Ha
Live. Laugh. Garbage Disposal.
There is very little more uplifting than the sound of baby elephants replacing cement board 😌
Thank you for the update, about Emily. 🥰
Excited for the new grand baby, for you.
And, I think moose oven mitts, would really make my kitchen moose very happy🤣
Take care, Mack!
I highly recommend Midlife Stockman and Flawless Cleaning Services. Both are sort of lawn care channels, but they have a big part of charity work too. They don't just mow lawns. Midlife Stockman just raised 40K USD to put a new roof on two siblings' house (among other things, he needed 20K USD, so I'm guessing he'll use the surplus to help them more) and Flawless Cleaning Services raised 75K GBP to tear down part of an old couple's house and build them a new extension.
I've shouted them both out on other videos
@@MidwestMagicCleaning hmmm. You probably did. Sometimes I have the memory of a fish.😂
You are an amazing man and an awesome father and soon-to-be grandfather! Thanks for sharing this bathroom transformation. It’s beautiful!
Yay! New video! All this work is so educational! Great that you and Jason can do this for yourselves!
Looks nice! Like the use of color. You are so right about the time and expense that no one thinks of when it comes to a 'gut job' - especially in a restroom.
Great job on the bathroom. You are making it yours. Looking forward to seeing what you continue to do with your house. Going to miss Jason working with you, but know he will be so happy to be with his baby too. You are one very wise father and future grandfather. Take care of yourself, Mack.
Great job, there is always the glitch in any renovation. My small bathroom was renovated 20 years ago and still looks and functions like new, kept to classics, don’t have the money to be trendy. It was done by a single guy and cost $5k. I can’t imagine what it would cost now. Thank you Mack, hoping you are feeling better.😘
*This video is truly inspiring! Transforming an entire bathroom from beyond repair to perfection is an incredible achievement. It's not just about cleaning, it's about making a huge difference in the home. Thank you for sharing!* 💯💯💯❤❤❤
The bathroom looks great. Praying all goes well for Jason, his wife, and their baby. Also praying for Emily's surgery and recovery. Take care. ❤😊
I redid my bathroom about 5 years ago. I took everything out and spent almost 3k doing it myself and that was with nearly option being the cheapest material. My only regret was that I didn't replace the old cast iron bathtub. It was a TON of work and I was beyond proud of the results. My favorite thing was building a custom vanity out of 3/4" plywood. I made it extra tall for me as I'm 5'10 1/2 and regular vanity height hurts my back. It was also the same reason why I raised my shower head height by almost 2 feet so I don't have to duck down to take a shower.
Most folks that have never done a full gut remodel of a bathroom really don't understand the amount of hard work, time and money that goes into doing the job.
You did a fantastic job on your bathroom!
When my hubby was a young man, one of his first jobs was working as part of a contractor's construction crew. It was very hard work. He was taking out walls, ripping up floors, and washing drywall dust out of his hair for days after hanging the new stuff, mudding it in and sanding it all down. It taught him a lot about what goes into fixing a place up, as well as instilling a lot of caution about the scale such projects take in terms of time and money.
The bathroom looks great! Watching you transform your new home will be so much fun.
What a huge difference! The bathroom looks wonderful!
the bathroom looks great! love the cheerful aqua color with the white and gray. hope you and the family stay well and heal. praying that the baby comes without any complications and is sassy and demanding :) heehee
I love the work you are doing at home. Your home is your palace which you have earned. Remember, you come first,.Finishing this project will be your total release from mental, physical, and stress. It means so much that you and your son have this bonding, something he came past onto his new family. Grand-fathers can help as well.
I love the mold killing primer!
I adore your sense of humor, Mack! Sure brightens my day.😊 Great idea to combine bathrooms later. I hope the house will be all that you desire and so richly deserve! Best wishes to Jason and his growing family and to Emily, as well. ❤
Thanks Mack. Doing a great job on fixing up your home.
Damn, for a temporary bathroom that looks really good!
Yeah!! Thank you for sending a shout out to Fill!! He's an Idaho man! ❤
Looks great! Well done, guys. Sending much strength to Emily.
Wow! Great job Mack and Jason. Well done! Great transformation on a budget. I enjoyed the DIY video.
Great job! Looks 22,000 percent better! Jason is a keeper.
This is great! I always wanted to see tile set! And the caulking!!., nobody ever told me to use the tape!! You can just imagine how it looked around my bathtub 😓, Thanks for sharing this metamorphosis with us!! ♥️🐾
I wanna do moose stuff!!❤❤❤❤
Bless you for all that you do and many thanks for being brave! You’ve taught all of us a lot more than you know. Much love to all!
The only thing I'm surprised you didn't do/get is get a shower head extension arm for the extra height. Also, who was the guy with the tattoos? Don't think I recognized him. I'm glad your back is getting better, but yes, please make sure it's 100% before going back to hoarder houses. I also love, love, love that you're not only giving Jason paid leave, but you believe paid family leave should be standard. I do too, and it's great seeing someone with any kind of large platform say and show that.
Great bathroom redo Mack, looks great. Good luck for Emily on her surgery and Biiiig hugs for Jason and partner and baby when it happens. See you next time. Stay well 💚🐝
Your such a great human ...kind heart ..great with your hands .. great with narration .. awesome sense of humour .. a wonderful parent and I know you are gonna be an amazing grandparent xxx 😊❤
Thank you, seriously thank you for giving Jason paid paternity leave. Thanks very generous of you & will provide the best start for Jason & his family. I'm kinda impressed with your tiling skills. The bathroom is looking great. I'm looking forward to watching you renovate the rest of the house. Have you seen Midlife Stockman? Awesome guy with a big heart with is changing the world one lawn at a time!
You did an amazing job. I can definitely see the grey grout on the tile and it looks amazing. It makes the tile pop nicely. Great job.
As you started tiling, a clean bright white glow emerged up the wall. Spotless. Loved watching the process.
Glad to see you make your house a place you feel comfortable in!
Detail Geek is an amazing young man. I love his channel and him.
You are such a character! Your bathroom looks great and I love the humor of the spoon and EAT sign. 😂
I'm really enjoying this series! Your style/aesthetic in this home is so calming and nice to watch , the transformation even though temporary is fantastic 👏👏👏👏
One other TH-cam channel that I can recommend is Flawless Cleaning Services - Ben works in the UK and helps mostly older people. He has done some amazing jobs.
I've shouted him out before
Nice job Mack! So good of you to let Jason take off for the baby, especially paid! You must be making pretty good money. My old man is a carpenter for over 30 years, that just got thru cancer and we cant find a job where we live to save ourselves. Hope all is well with Emilys surgery, take care of yourself too,and get back to fixin your new lil house..cuz thats how i roll son!
Thank you for sharing your own home renovations and family updates. Your sense of humor is fantastic. I look forward to the next video. Good vibes out to all the kids, and well wishes for the new baby!
Dude! I've never seen anyone tape off for the caulking before! Brilliant!
The bathroom looks fantastic! Please treat yourself to a new shower head! You deserve it!
12:45 "We will create a moose-u-topia of antlers and bliss... and also money" XD glad to see the order of priorities here, I approve jajajaja
Wow you made tiling look so easy....like I could do this!!!! Thanks.
LMAO, the "Eat" sign over the toilet!😂
I live in the Sacramento area. Our library has a "library of things" that you can check out. Items range from 3D printers to garden tools to circular saws etc. I know not all libraries do this, but if you need a tool and can't afford to buy it it's worth looking into. I've also had luck asking to borrow tools on Nextdoor.
Thank you Mack for showing your process, you give me confidence to try more home improvement projects than I would have been comfortable with before!
Wow! What a great makeover. Genius idea using painters tape before caulking the tub. Looks wonderful.
I'm impressed at your tile flinging and your helpers ambidexterity.
I've never been this early to a video, thanks hank spankman! Can't wait to see you roundhouse that moose in the next video!
Love, love, love the speed tiling. Go, Mack!
I think you did a great job on this bathroom. The color is beautiful. Since you know what you’re doing, know the situation of the people you’re helping, and always strive to do your best - I do not understand why other people question the outcome.
I laughed out loud to see "Eat" and a big wooden spoon on the wall at the end. The room looks great!
I love watching you fix up your new home. All your videos are awesome to watch!
Amazing. The tiling sequence for the tub alcove, really reminded me of the 1960s "The Time Machine"! That was always my favorite part of the movie!
LOL, I saw the spoon and started laughing, then the Eat sign. Love your sense of humor!!! Sending healing vibes to both you and Emily.
You are so awesome and so inspiring!! Keep doing what you do!
The tile install time lapse tickled the dopamine receptors in my brain. Thank you 🙏
You and your son did a amazing job on that bathroom. Hope everything goes well with Emily surgery, and congratulations to your son and his wife on the new bundle of joy coming.
I am SO excited to see the journey as well as the finished product! Thanks, Mack and Jason x
The scraping sounds are so satisfying and relaxing to me, thank u for showing us this
Yeah that mould primer is great stuff .. used it recently around my windows ..literally treats the mould and works like an undercoat xxx love watching you work ..soooo inspiring 😊xx❤
You are both so talented! New bathroom looks fresh and current! So glad you painted the window trim, door etc ❤❤
Phenomenal job!! And thank you for the updates on Jason and Emily
Amen regarding Algorithms 😂
Wow, what a Blessing to be able to give your son the real time to bond ❤. You are an amazing person 🙏⭐
This is a great interim solution! It looks really nice. Glad to hear everyone is doing well.
Your bathroom looks fantastic! The little pop of blue really adds character to it. And I straight up LOVE the kitchen sign and spoon on the walls. Hilarious!
I finished the video and my first thought was "wow he really likes teal." followed immediately by "why does it say eat D:"
Hell yeah brother
Thanks Mack! I've been waiting for this video. My dad passed away back in '12 and I need to do my bathroom. I've been using your videos as a surrogate
Eat sign is cracking me up 🤣
You have to do at least 1 ridiculous thing in your renovation. I'm loving how your house is coming along.
Mack you and jason did an awesome job on the bathroom for sure. I like the white tiling and paint plus the accent colors of teal and grey. The mirror was really nice, and of course the wall decor was just right lol 😅
I was happy to see your back is better and the update on the entire family.
I saw that Dakota was with you and supervising at the beginning of this video 🐕
You really channeled the Chad energy when painting that top coat of white and blue, I barely recognized you. Yay for parental leave! Hoarder cleaning videos is nice, but don't be shy about posting renovation content either. Seeing you turn this house around into a place you can thrive makes me happy.
I love your colors! The bright aqua just refreshes that room! Your decor is total fun, too. "Eat" right above the sh*tter and a spoon on the wall-- LOL!
You ROCKED it, Mac.
There’s something so satisfying about every step of a renovation!
The icing on the cake (powder on the donut?) is the end result.
Looking good 😊!
😅
No... wait,.... don't we paint the powdered donut?!
It looks great I agree with getting your home setup b4 you get back to cleaning others you need to be stress less to take on other ppls hoard...thankyou for all the cleaning tips and I enjoy watching your new home setup...jason your a good man helping dad get his mooses sorted...😁
It’s very kind of you to shout out other channels. I’ve been watching Detail Geek before I found your channel and it’s, yes, very satisfying content. Since you shouted out Tia Weston (love her channel, found her like 2 weeks before your shoutout) and you seem interested in renovation channels I have 2 European channels that I like very much if anyone wants to check them out Do&Be Different Farmily (young couple from Latvia restoring an early 1800s farm with mostly reused materials) and Maya Feliz (this very positive girl restoring stone buildings in a very picturesque setting in Portugal). No moose on those channels though.
edit - re the anti-mold primer, you can use that but you can also add a liquid to the paint itself (I think it’s called anti-mold and mildew additive) instead of using gloss paint like the previous owner. Usually bathroom&kitchen wall paint contains an additive but some extra doesn’t hurt.
Loved seeing the teal trim at the end. It’s so you ❤
I love watching you videos. It always gives me motivation to do things I need to do like clean up, fix things around the house build something. Like a motorised turntable that can support my weight so I can more efficiently roundhouse kick my to do lists both into the future and the past at the same time.
Edit: hahaha that Eat sign is a thing of beauty.
