But also a sense of satisfaction of seeing something be cleaned properly or installed as is the case with this video in particular. I hope at some point to be able to live independently but as of right now I depend on my family quite a bit as mentally I am just not there yet. I wish the best of luck with Jason and his partner, raising a kid ain't easy and to hear your insight on stuff really gets my mind thinking more broadly and with an open mind than I used to prior.

One of the most addictive and mesmerizing channels is Cole the Cornstar. A young guy, fifth generation farmer completely gutting, expanded and rebuilding his great great grandfather’s farm house and farm. He bought/inherited the farm from his grandfather who was a hoarder...in the house, in the many outbuildings and literal tons of “stuff” all over the “yard”. He also farms 2,000 acres and we follow along and learn what it really takes to be a farmer. I never knew I was interested in either of those things but how eagerly await each video.
Cole is great, but I wish he'd stop saying "100% Renovation and Restoration". They mean very different things, and he's not restoring it. He gutted the entire house, and 95 percent of it isn't coming back in (because it shouldn't).
Thanks for the link. I'm going to have a look at that channel. I wanted to be a farmer so badly when younger. My Grandmother had a farm and I spent every day I could there working, helping, just being. I loved it. Sadly it had to be sold after her death. I do live in the country though, so that's great.

I redid my bathroom about 5 years ago. I took everything out and spent almost 3k doing it myself and that was with nearly option being the cheapest material. My only regret was that I didn't replace the old cast iron bathtub. It was a TON of work and I was beyond proud of the results. My favorite thing was building a custom vanity out of 3/4" plywood. I made it extra tall for me as I'm 5'10 1/2 and regular vanity height hurts my back. It was also the same reason why I raised my shower head height by almost 2 feet so I don't have to duck down to take a shower. Most folks that have never done a full gut remodel of a bathroom really don't understand the amount of hard work, time and money that goes into doing the job. You did a fantastic job on your bathroom!
When my hubby was a young man, one of his first jobs was working as part of a contractor's construction crew. It was very hard work. He was taking out walls, ripping up floors, and washing drywall dust out of his hair for days after hanging the new stuff, mudding it in and sanding it all down. It taught him a lot about what goes into fixing a place up, as well as instilling a lot of caution about the scale such projects take in terms of time and money.
@@GrannyLinn Do it! It's not too bad to custom build your own simple cabinets out of plywood. I added onto the ones in my kitchen. The wood grain was different on my new ones I made. Luckily the door designs on mine were simple and easy to make. Made a massive difference and then I built a full on built in pantry around my refrigerator once my cabinet making skills got better.
The tattoos at the end completely broke my brain. I was watching and thinking "how did I miss that?!" I literally had to restart the video to convince myself that I'm not crazy (well, I am, just not in this case) and you do not actually have a full sleeve. Thanks, Mack. I needed that.
Today is 10-23-24 and nothing in particular here, except to send my support, and a virtual hug to you, Mack. You're dealing with a lot, but you sound stronger than you have in quite awhile. I'm old enough to be your Mom - and I wanted to say I'm proud of you. Hang in there. Christie/Angry Senior
Love the bathroom. You answered 2 questions for me. Thank you for the update on Emily and 30:59 Jason. It's awesome that you are giving Jason well-deserved time to be helpful with the baby. Can't wait to see the pictures of the grand baby.
@@galli0 I get your point, but the truth is, the mother is the provider of nurture,( if able to of course), having breasts and milk in them is a biological fact. When a mother is feeding, a father can be a great help in other things and should not be diminished
In defense of Mac and jason, I don't think he meant anything like that. If you've watched his videos for a while you got to realize neither are kind of guys that are going to ignore something that needs taken care of such as changing a poopy diaper. While your defense of motherhood is to be commended it's not what either or about. Just my opinion. God bless and be well.
As a fellow autist, your sense of humour is right up my street. Laughed out loud at "Eat" and the spoon. And heart melted when you started talking about Jason and paternity leave. And they say autistic people have no empathy or compassion. The bathroom is bloody beautiful!! Love it. Definitely take care of your back - you've only got one of them. Take care and all the best for the father and mother to be.
So glad you mentioned the detail geek and Fill’s lawn care. I used to watch their channels when my dad was on life support during COVID and I couldn’t sleep due to extreme anxiety and stress. I still go back and watch when I need that blissful sleep. Dads doing great now ❤
Watching channels where everyone just helps other people in need, it's a nice change to watch someone do something they need for themselves. There's nothing wrong with helping ourselves from time to time. It's just as needed as helping others. Good luck towards your million subscribers!
OMG same! "Teach Your Children" by CSNY and "Landslide" by Stevie Nicks will absolutely give me the feels, especially because as a middle-aged Millennial parent, those songs hit different than they did the first time I heard them on the local oldies station as a teenager.
You’ve given a shout out to Fife Free Cleaning before and I started watching them. They are excellent. Their last video was of taking their first TH-cam check to the store and buying food for their local Food Bank! Then they showed a tour of the facility and told the contact Fife could also be a reference for the clients. Thank you for recommending this pair of lovely ladies! You and all the free cleaning group are really wonderful people.
Ok 3 things: 1 - puppy! 🐶 ❤️ I love your pets. 2 - bathroom looks fantastic! Way to go Mack! The decor made me laugh out loud… 3 - Glad to hear the update on Emily & Jason, & hope your back feels better soon. 😊
Good call on your comments on parenting - best luck to Jason and his partner on the baby. Glad Em is all set and wishing her a quick, painless recovery. Nice job on the tub - I always learn something from you!
Thank you for the update, about Emily. 🥰 Excited for the new grand baby, for you. And, I think moose oven mitts, would really make my kitchen moose very happy🤣 Take care, Mack!
Mack, I just saw that Stephanie and Danielle at Fife Free Cleaning is at almost 15,000 subscribers and they were able to use their first TH-cam check for a food bank donation. Thank you for giving them shout outs on your channel. If anyone here hasn’t subscribed, please do. These ladies are amazing.
I highly recommend Midlife Stockman and Flawless Cleaning Services. Both are sort of lawn care channels, but they have a big part of charity work too. They don't just mow lawns. Midlife Stockman just raised 40K USD to put a new roof on two siblings' house (among other things, he needed 20K USD, so I'm guessing he'll use the surplus to help them more) and Flawless Cleaning Services raised 75K GBP to tear down part of an old couple's house and build them a new extension.
Hubby used to be a general contractor and that looks like quality work! Neat seams! I just saw a cool tool for mudding corners and joints...Ill try and link it later!
I'm so proud of you... and that mirror is divine! You earned that splurge. You're going through a lot and so is your family. Sending well wishes for you all.
It’s so kind of you to help people when they’re struggling ❤ Hoarding is quite often a sign that someone has experienced trauma in their life. It’s sad so thank god for people like you.
I,love the fact that Jason and you are working together and literally making memories to look back on. You are right not many people can afford to,fix their homes and the sad part is it only gets worse. Great job on the bathroom and very educational if I ever have to redo a bathroom (not). Have a great week and you don’t hurt your back, love the eat sign and the spoon😂😂😂
Thank you for demonstrating how to caulk a bathtub! It's on my to-do list and I've been anxious about it. I love the path you're on, and I like this series of videos where you're fixing up your new home. I'm glad Emily is doing well. ❤
I love that you painted the trim a very “you” color. You talking about your autism and burnout gave me the push I needed to finally explore the possibility for myself. I am learning to express my autism to recover from burnout. Seeing that bright color feels like such a good example of how to be yourself even when it’s probably not to other’s tastes.
You have a spoon in the bathroom, but do you have a poop knife? Every bathroom needs a poop knife! Also, I love that you not only shout out other content creators, you also buy AND WEAR their merch in your videos! You Rock!
@@nightsgrow6575 🤣 and I'm not even a Redditor. 🤔 I'm not even on Reddit? 🤭 I do love to freak my coworker out with the poop knife story. Only I've upgraded (or maybe downgraded) it to a potato masher. That really gets her riled up!
Looks nice! Like the use of color. You are so right about the time and expense that no one thinks of when it comes to a 'gut job' - especially in a restroom.
Thank you for answering a question that no one has been able to answer for me regarding the corners of tile in a bathroom. You have no idea how much that has helped me. Love your channel. My best to your son and his new family.
Thank you Mack for being yourself, because, as you clean and renovate the bathroom, you teach with your words a way of living and facing problems so healthy that, as always, you give hope and joy to those who see you. God bless you!
I renovated my bathroom myself 2 years ago. NOT EASY! You did a fabulous job. I had trouble with the plumbing under the sink. Had to call the professionals. I AM NOT A PLUMBER! Found that out the hard way. But the rest looked GREAT!
I've been watching you for over a year now. You're one of the easiest people I can watch for hours. Your humour, your zest for helping others, your family make you an awesome human being. I could watch you grout all day! Was mesmerising! Good luck in your new home, can't wait to see it's progress, good luck on impending new arrival! X
I adore your sense of humor, Mack! Sure brightens my day.😊 Great idea to combine bathrooms later. I hope the house will be all that you desire and so richly deserve! Best wishes to Jason and his growing family and to Emily, as well. ❤
Thank you, seriously thank you for giving Jason paid paternity leave. Thanks very generous of you & will provide the best start for Jason & his family. I'm kinda impressed with your tiling skills. The bathroom is looking great. I'm looking forward to watching you renovate the rest of the house. Have you seen Midlife Stockman? Awesome guy with a big heart with is changing the world one lawn at a time!
You are so entertaining! Thank you for not only providing those in need with help, but for making me giggle as I knit hats and scarves for the homeless.
I don’t know how I find the time but always enjoy watching major yard and lawn care, heavy duty house cleanings, the pressure washings, the carpet cleaners, even the pimple popping .. I find a lot of relaxation from watching something, anything, be ‘aggressively’ cleaned. 😂
Great job on the bathroom. You are making it yours. Looking forward to seeing what you continue to do with your house. Going to miss Jason working with you, but know he will be so happy to be with his baby too. You are one very wise father and future grandfather. Take care of yourself, Mack.
Great job, there is always the glitch in any renovation. My small bathroom was renovated 20 years ago and still looks and functions like new, kept to classics, don’t have the money to be trendy. It was done by a single guy and cost $5k. I can’t imagine what it would cost now. Thank you Mack, hoping you are feeling better.😘
Your such a great human ...kind heart ..great with your hands .. great with narration .. awesome sense of humour .. a wonderful parent and I know you are gonna be an amazing grandparent xxx 😊❤
I know this isn't an organizing video, but you made me realize I want to be a professional organizer. It is a gift I have always had that I forgot I loved doing and your channel reignited the passion. My late grandma was a hoarder and it took my mom going over to the house every Sunday for a year to go through everything. I remember us going over all the time when she was alive to help her clean and go through her pantry to get rid of expired things. When I go to friends houses I always help them clean and organize their stuff and I get so much joy out of it, even after my arms are sore. I have ADHD and I love watching someone that is also neurodivergent and speaks my language.
You and your son did a amazing job on that bathroom. Hope everything goes well with Emily surgery, and congratulations to your son and his wife on the new bundle of joy coming.
It’s awesome to know you have a good employee but an awesome boss that cares about you! It’s very rare nowadays but so awesome to see! You’re an awesome boss and a hard worker. Good for you for taking time off when you needed it the most.
I’ve been painting at home like crazy. You are such an inspiration. I never used primer until watching your videos and can’t get enough of you doing your house up. Well done you’re a star in this house.

I’m late watching this so congratulations grandad on the arrival of your granddaughter. Hope they are all doing well. That certainly was a lot of work and it looks fantastic. I laughed with the ‘eat’ and the spoon 😂 You are fantastic to give paid paternity leave to Jason and I do agree it should be mandatory (it can be scary at times with a new baby). I live in the Sacramento area. Our library has a "library of things" that you can check out. Items range from 3D printers to garden tools to circular saws etc. I know not all libraries do this, but if you need a tool and can't afford to buy it it's worth looking into. I've also had luck asking to borrow tools on Nextdoor. Thank you Mack for showing your process, you give me confidence to try more home improvement projects than I would have been comfortable with before! Edit to add: I agree "just gutting it isn't always possible." My comment is about me being excited to try something that I can't afford to pay someone to do. Then thinking about not having to pay for all the tools makes it more possible.
I've lived in multiple cities in the US over the last few years. Every one of them had a makers' space, at the least, where you could do 3D printing, use sewing machines & sergers, etc. They're such a wonderful, and under-utilized, resource!

Good to see Dakota making a cameo appearance as project manager and OSHA inspector 🛠️
The tattoos at the end completely broke my brain. I was watching and thinking "how did I miss that?!" I literally had to restart the video to convince myself that I'm not crazy (well, I am, just not in this case) and you do not actually have a full sleeve. Thanks, Mack. I needed that.
I can’t get over the tattoos, I’ve watched every episode of Mack , and all of a sudden he has all these tattoos.
I thought the same like......wth lol they would look nice on him tho I think
Me too! I was looking and going how did I miss that the entire time?! To be fair I watch these videos on my phone but still, what a thing to miss!
LOL me too. I was watching while working and I did a double take then was like haaaang on and had to go back to the beginning.
It is a different guy
Today is 10-23-24 and nothing in particular here, except to send my support, and a virtual hug to you, Mack. You're dealing with a lot, but you sound stronger than you have in quite awhile. I'm old enough to be your Mom - and I wanted to say I'm proud of you.
Hang in there. Christie/Angry Senior
Love how you had the expertise of Dakota supervising your work 🐶
I was so happy to see Mack has Dakota 🐕 ❤ 😊
@@cathyprosser1050 - yep, me too!
@@Replicanna Can be a great help in other things, is a funny way of saying can do his job as a dad
@@schattenblume4795 It is, but we are humans, and how to describe it depends on our view of the world. Yet, go dads!
@@Replicanna ... thats what being a dad is? helping to do the things that the mother shouldn't have to do whilst taking care of the baby.
Joint compound over the construction adhesive is a brilliant idea. Thanks!
I thought that’s how it’s supposed to be done.
Dads doing great now ❤
I am loving the blue accents/cabinets/door! Really pops against the white walls and brings some needed color into the stark white bathroom.
You are an amazing man and an awesome father and soon-to-be grandfather! Thanks for sharing this bathroom transformation. It’s beautiful!
WOW! What a transformation! You rock-as a contractor, as an employer, as a dad, and as a hunan being. Love your channel. Also, ALGORITHM. 😂
Lol
I didn’t expect the turn around to be so drastic in a bathroom you’re tearing out later, it looks amazing 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Watching channels where everyone just helps other people in need, it's a nice change to watch someone do something they need for themselves. There's nothing wrong with helping ourselves from time to time. It's just as needed as helping others. Good luck towards your million subscribers!
Watching you and Jason work so beautifully together, made me think of the song - Teach Your Children Well. What you give one another, priceless. ❤
Get out!! I was listening to CSN today! What a beautiful song and so true❤
@@angelabeatty6538 I love that song, and their music.
OMG same! "Teach Your Children" by CSNY and "Landslide" by Stevie Nicks will absolutely give me the feels, especially because as a middle-aged Millennial parent, those songs hit different than they did the first time I heard them on the local oldies station as a teenager.
@@tamaratamtammorris8151 I totally agree! Age and having children changes so much, doesn’t it?
Thanks Mack- prayers that things keep moving forward in a positive way.
And there it is. The before and after of your new bathroom. Honestly Mack .... WOW!
Ok 3 things:
1 - puppy! 🐶 ❤️ I love your pets.
2 - bathroom looks fantastic! Way to go Mack! The decor made me laugh out loud…
3 - Glad to hear the update on Emily & Jason, & hope your back feels better soon. 😊
Good call on your comments on parenting - best luck to Jason and his partner on the baby. Glad Em is all set and wishing her a quick, painless recovery. Nice job on the tub - I always learn something from you!
Thank you for the update, about Emily. 🥰
Excited for the new grand baby, for you.
And, I think moose oven mitts, would really make my kitchen moose very happy🤣
Take care, Mack!
There is very little more uplifting than the sound of baby elephants replacing cement board 😌
Wow now they have a brand new bathroom. Great job you guys. God bless.
I've shouted them both out on other videos
@@MidwestMagicCleaning hmmm. You probably did. Sometimes I have the memory of a fish.😂
Hubby used to be a general contractor and that looks like quality work! Neat seams! I just saw a cool tool for mudding corners and joints...Ill try and link it later!
Love Midlife stockman!
I watch Flawless too😊
What a huge difference! The bathroom looks wonderful!
I loved the tinkling sound of applying tiles at 2x speed. Wow, that was so relaxing and satisfying to watch.
Great job! Looks 22,000 percent better! Jason is a keeper.
The clack-y sounds of the tiles was so satisfying
You have a spoon in the bathroom, but do you have a poop knife? Every bathroom needs a poop knife!
Also, I love that you not only shout out other content creators, you also buy AND WEAR their merch in your videos! You Rock!
Oh god, the poop knife has broken Reddit containment 😂

“Adding more eyebrows to my face - both in girth and quantity” 🤣🤣
I renovated my bathroom myself 2 years ago. NOT EASY! You did a fabulous job. I had trouble with the plumbing under the sink. Had to call the professionals. I AM NOT A PLUMBER! Found that out the hard way. But the rest looked GREAT!
Thanks Mack. Doing a great job on fixing up your home.
The tile install time lapse tickled the dopamine receptors in my brain. Thank you 🙏
Love how the bathroom turned out. The floor is pretty
Amazing transformation. Hanque Spanqman's taste in bathroom décor is literally "the chef's kiss".
😂😂🤣
That looks really good for temporary. Congratulations to your son for new baby. That's awesome for time off. It is much needed. ❤
Yay! New video! All this work is so educational! Great that you and Jason can do this for yourselves!
The bathroom looks great. Praying all goes well for Jason, his wife, and their baby. Also praying for Emily's surgery and recovery. Take care. ❤😊
The bathroom looks great! Watching you transform your new home will be so much fun.
I love watching your channel while I clean. I get overwhelmed really quickly and you always seem to say something that helps with that.
Total side note: the sound of the saw at 5 minutes made my cat go crazy. I don't know what he thought he heard, but it was funny.
Love your channel!!!
Looks great! Well done, guys. Sending much strength to Emily.
Damn, for a temporary bathroom that looks really good!
Yeah!! Thank you for sending a shout out to Fill!! He's an Idaho man! ❤
I love the remodeling videos, anything you do is interesting and fascinating 😊
You and your son did a amazing job on that bathroom. Hope everything goes well with Emily surgery, and congratulations to your son and his wife on the new bundle of joy coming.
The bathroom looks fantastic! Please treat yourself to a new shower head! You deserve it!
Glad to see you make your house a place you feel comfortable in!
