i dont know how often you get this comment but the silly names at the beginning of episodes literally always make me laugh and put me in a good mood. this one got me good. thank you for being you, and i'm glad the longer wait between videos wasn't anything serious!
Yes! And I like the "hi!" at the beginning as well. If the video has already started when the sound turns on, I always have to rewind so I get to hear that. 😊
I love it bc my husband used to do this. Back in the day he would go to our neighborhood video store and he’d give them a made up name like Ira Whitbissel or Zed Portazeebee. They’d start laughing when they saw him coming knowing he was gonna give them some made up goofy name. I love this about Mack too. He’s a knee slapper.
I also love the funny names at the introduction of each video. Sometimes I think the only reason I watch is to listen to what silly name is used. When I think he can't come up with something funnier than the last video I am always happy to see he does....it always makes me laugh....who would think a silly thing like this is so enjoyable.
Your design style is WILDLY different from mine. But it’s honestly so refreshing. I love seeing someone who has such a bold, unapologetic style and not another sad, beige house.
My knees hurt just watching you remove that floor glue! And my right arm fell off. But it all came out so nice. I love watching this transform in to YOUR home.
My mom said that when our basement was remodeled during my early childhood, the previous owners put ungodly amounts of glue on the floor to secure the linoleum. She and the contractor my parents hired for the remodel spent days chipping away at the glue with razor knives and scrapers to get to the subfloor so that tile could be laid. She said it was agonizing. 0/10, do not recommend
I can see your stress level has gone down and you are really enjoying fixing your own place up. I am so happy for you and wishing you the best. You're doing a great job!
That floor paint was an inspired idea. It tuned out great and how nice that it’s so durable. The fact that it looks good AND saved you $9000 made it a seriously good choice.
Watching you decorate your kitchen with flowers was about the cutest thing I've ever seen. I didn't know that I needed to see a grown man unrolling a floral garland to spruce up his kitchen, but I'm sure glad I did!!
You have a real talent for seeing in your mind's eye what you want and then being able to convert it into an actuality. I really couldn't see where you were going with this but wow, what a fantastic result! Love that rug, it really ties the room together. Good to see Jason at the end. I hope he and his little family are all doing well.
Those LED lights are even better than the old florescent undercabinet lights my father used to install in our homes, at the insistence of my mother, who used to be an operating room nurse & wanted her kitchen to be a CLEAN ROOM!!
This series is cool. It’s nice seeing a refurbish/glow-up that tackles an affordable home (e.g., 60s, 70s, 80s tract), not a century home or a builder’s model from two years ago where we’re ripping out the kitchen for no discernible reason other than content generation.
Great transformation, great rug. I'm sure you'll never read this, and if you do you'll tell me it's none of my business and to suck it, but my soul is screaming to tell you this. I think setting your curtains higher, like nearly at the ceiling, and letting them graze the floor, would upgrade your spaces from a vast improvement to gorgeous. Just an opinion, subjective, and made with love. Keep up the good work. You're inspiring me to clean my house and be a better person every week.
Maybe he doesn’t like the look of that. I don’t, I think it looks weird as crap to have curtains way higher than a window. I just don’t see how it’s “better”. I think that may be why a lot of us like watching Mack because he isn’t following trends, just doing what he likes. Which makes him relatable. 😊
@@jennacallahan1why are you so unreasonably salty? You literally know nothing about the OP or the creator and you just pulled this bs out your ass. Wtf
It isn't merely a trend, the suggestion to raise the height of curtain rails above the window. When he took the curtains down I had a moment of hope that's what he was planning to do. It's a legit interior design practice that really does work to draw the eye up and it makes your ceilings appear higher. Each to his own though.
31:15 The rug was the turning point when the room clicked in my brain as a room, not just a canvas. I love the color palette of white, gray, and teal ❤
I really like that you decorate according to what the homeowner (in this case you) likes and wants, not what they think they should like, not what is "in style" and not for other people.

I so enjoy your videos - come for the satisfaction of the reveal, stay for the moose jokes - and you inspired me to give my own kitchen a refresh! My girls and I are currently watching this video and they are so shocked/surprised that you are decorating this room all on your own! We all think you should paint your refrigerator light blue to match your curtains! Great job!
Good to see you back in action. Hope you didn't tweak your back again moving all that around. Adore the rug (black, white, gray, and X accent color is one of my favorite combinations) and good for you for getting it big enough for the room. Looking forward to seeing more of you.
I loved the desk's temporary location - I probably would have thought about keeping it there permanently, personally! The lighting looked great and it was nice how the back shelf lined up with the wall.
Thanks for giving a shout out to Tia Westons' channel. I've been following her since week one of her $1 house. Yours isn't too bad either. (the white paint on walls & floors helpsto brighten everything up) Great idea!

My husband and ripped out our carpet and tiles to put LVP down. It was daaaays of scraping glue, and using the jack hammer type tool to chisel out the tile adhesive. Honestly, the long pole scraper took most of the carpet glue up no problem (but it wasn’t a lot of glue..just squiggling lines). But..I love my new floors!!!!! Totally worth it.

It is beautiful , you did a great job . If you could just get your Moose to give you a massage , lol !!! Tell Jason hello and hope he is having a great time with his baby girl !!! See ya next week.
I love how you have done the living room, simple and tasteful. That glue on the floor - I felt your pain, in my knees , my back, my brain - what a job!!! Well done

You are amazing. You made it come together. Absolutely love it. You pulled it off! Carpet great choice. it ties everything together. You have a great eye. Great Job. 🥰
Perfect timing I needed some company and motivation to get some laundry and cleaning done. My family are coming to my house from Canada to hang out for thanksgiving break!
Love the rug!! Great job. I’m sure your space makes you feel awesome 😊😊 You might want to take those ceiling tiles down and paint those too. Then the entire room will feel fresh. Just a thought
Huge transformation!!! Lighter Brighter and the rug plus furniture pops off the white floor and grey walls. Excellent Job. Cute Moose screen saver too. Congratulations on your new home!!!!
Great job, Mack! I love the kitchen backsplash, the living room rug, your teal bottles, the new light fixtures, all of it really. Can’t imagine how tired you were when all was done. Happy holidays in your new place!
Just wanted to say, I've been working on cleaning out my dad's apartment before he starts chemo in January. it's an absolute mess and has several health hazards that I don't want to be there when his immune system will not be able to handle it. It's really hard doing it all myself- I'm jealous of your height, as a 5'0 person!- but listening to your videos while working at it has been super helpful in keeping me focused, motivated, and helps me to think about what is okay for me to get rid of, and what might cause him more stress if it's a hoarding issue. Thank you so much for them!
Best wishes for your Dad..Big Hug and prayers for you cleaning up for him but mainly just cause you love your Dad and want whats best for him...❤️🤗🙏❤️🤗🙏😊

Perfect timing I needed some company and motivation to get some laundry and cleaning done. My family are coming to my house from Canada to hang out for thanksgiving break!
Love the rug!! Great job. I’m sure your space makes you feel awesome 😊😊
You might want to take those ceiling tiles down and paint those too. Then the entire room will feel fresh. Just a thought
The whole ceiling is being replaced
Huge transformation!!! Lighter Brighter and the rug plus furniture pops off the white floor and grey walls. Excellent Job. Cute Moose screen saver too. Congratulations on your new home!!!!
So very happy for you Mack. ❤️🥹
Great job, Mack! I love the kitchen backsplash, the living room rug, your teal bottles, the new light fixtures, all of it really. Can’t imagine how tired you were when all was done. Happy holidays in your new place!
Holy cow, I can't believe he shouted out Therm. I don't even like baseball, but he makes it sound so cool. First HP mowing and now Therm :)
Thank you for recommending Tia Weston, she’s awesome! I binged her whole $1 house series.
Good luck to your dad with his chemo 💛💛💛💫 and good luck to you with the cleaning!🫎❣️
Best wishes for your Dad..Big Hug and prayers for you cleaning up for him but mainly just cause you love your Dad and want whats best for him...❤️🤗🙏❤️🤗🙏😊
You putting your foot on the doorknob like you were actually thinking about using it to give you a boost but then changing your mind and going for the ladder just cracked me up!! You are so incredibly funny and your videos always make my day. My teenage daughter is having boyfriend troubles and of course taking it out on me and her father so I needed something to life my spirits lol. You are right on time my friend
Your vision turned out absolutely fabulous 😁
Wow, love those ceiling lights, wasn’t too sure about the white floor but when you put that rug down it my breath away that is stunning and glad the tv was moved from the windows it looks real homely now. Well done Mack give yourself a huge pat on your back xx
This looks worse than removing old wallpaper! My back hurts just watching this!
I started watching you when you were around 13k subscribers, and wow! You’ve blessed so many, that so many blessings come back to you. Under mount lighting in the kitchen makes a huge difference. Love it!
Wow!! That doesn't even look like the same house. I'm loving watching it all come together.
