Thank you to everyone for all the amazingly kind words in the comments, and for being with me on this journey! I can't believe its been 4 years. If you'd have told me when I was graduating high school that this is what I'd be doing with my life, I would never have believed you.... Life is strange, and wonderful, and through the ups and downs, its an amazing world, where any one of us can truly be anything we want to be. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to share my journey with you, and am so excited for what the future holds... a big announcment is coming soon :) Much love to all of you, and thank you again for watching my videos to make all this possible.
Oh my gosh! I remember the original video. Wow it's good to see what you did with the space. Not watched yet but really looking forward to see what you've done!!!
I so enjoyed watching the entire renovation. Would you consider coming to Michigan to do some similar projects? Do you have a company website? Would love to have that wood mirror you made.
I’m jealous of the people who just stumble upon this video and get to see everything at once instead of waiting on pins and needles for 4 years for the next video to drop.haha. Such an amazing transformation and very entertaining to follow along since the beginning nonetheless.

I started watching the series shortly after my daughter died. My creative Muse was just obliterated. All my 3-D printers were silent. I was making nothing. I was watching videos like yours and some others to try to get going again, but during the journey more stuff started happening to me. I lost my brother during Covid to Covid. Two months later, I lost my only grandmother. My health drastically went downhill and the last two years I have nearly died three separate times one of them a doctor OD’ed me in the hospital and put me in the ICU. But long story short I’m still here and this series kept giving me the courage to get out to my new shop and renovate it. We hold.

The only thing I'm mad about is that TH-cam never suggested your channel and I love renovation channels. This was absolutely incredible to watch Thank you so much for filming this journey and for just being so amazing in your design process! So absolutely inspirational!
Man, to say I envy you would be a massive understatement. DIY is a huge passion of mine, and I love to create. Sadly, due to my disability I could never take on a project so massive. This serves as motivation to start pursing the things I can do, and stop saying what if. As for the loss of your beloved cat, my sincere condolences. I lost my faithful companion Precious just last week. She was my whole world, and I was in her life from the first second. I had to help her out of the birth canal when she breached backwards. I was her human from her first breath and I will never forget that love, nor the pain from losing her so unexpectedly at only 8 years old. That pain is unbearable, but we learn to keep moving and find our joy again because they would never want us to be sad. No matter how lost we feel without them, their presence never really leaves.

It's amazing how far you have come in this journey among trials and tribulations. This isn't just a renovation of spaces and dual facing toilets, but a renovation of the soul. Thanks!
I have 4 plants with a reservoir. I have a pump that circulates water around them. In the summer I keep it about 76. I make a few extra gallons of the nutrients up and just freeze them in Tupperware. Then just drop one of them in each container. Keeps it plenty of cool. I am above a pump house so the ground can get cool. I actually use an aquarium heater to keep it at 70 when the lights aren’t on.
I saw his forst video when he bought the house and loved the idea. Then lost his page and could never find it anymore. After 4 years I see his video thinking hmmm let’s check this video not realizing it’s him. And getting surprised its truly him this was worth watching and better then a 2 hours video. I love this. 💪💪
I genuinely can't believe its been 4 years I remember when you first purchased this building and I had nothing to look back at and now 4 years later the transformation is just amazing. Also the fact you somehow managed to make me actually fully watch a whole 2 hour video is amazing within itself. I am proud of all the work you've done mate and I look forward to seeing more of you.
Dear young man you are a joyful blessing, because I got to see you and others work together to do this project, but most of all knowing the medical thing that you went through had me remembering of the some what medical situation I had to go through, removal of a tumor in my stomach, and then after that I had two stents put into my heart. I’m doing fine but it sure makes you think. As a young old man I admire your dedication to the things you do. You are the type of young person that I believe should be focusing on more , not saying that some that some young people don’t need our help, but saying that most of our young people are doing awesome things in our society and I’m proud of them all.
I'm a woman who enjoyed every part of your master build. From the kitchen to the bathroom, it's super impressive. But that dog house and his pool are fabulous. Oh yeah, and that butcher block was my absolute favorite. Thanks for sharing your journey. I'm glad you made it through that internal bleeding. That was quite the scare 😢. Enjoy your fruits of labor ❤
Hi Mike, l found your channel by accident today and just happened upon the extended 2-hour compilation. What a huge project you've executed and kudos to you, your tradesman contractors and the sponsors and volunteers. I'm blown away by the range of machinery and tools that you have accumulated for every job as well as the choice of lumber; tiles; fittings; and the colours and textures. I love the rooftop space for you, your pooch Rex, as well as family and friends. This is a fitting end to the 4-year Reno Project and now you can start plannig where to install the elevator / lift(!). Warmest Regards - David from Melbourne, Australia 🥸👌🍷🍷❤️❤️🦘 PS: Subscribed 🥸👌❤️
Your story is inspiring. Your resillience is simply second to none. Watching your struggles to complete this gave me my own new lease of life as well. Thank you for sharing this.
Dude, kudos. This is not just sheer work you have here. A lot had happened - from the renov, you got hospitalized, lost your buddy cat and broke up with your girlfriend at some point in time. Those were never easy but you kept going. Kudos to you man. More blessings to you and to all your friends who helped you get this dream project done.
can't believe it's been 4 years. felt like I found your videos and started renovating my own home just a few months ago. time has been flying by like crazy
Strong men keep going even when faced with very difficult and sometimes life threatening situations. You are one of the few and thank you for sharing this journey. It is an inspiration to all!
To the person that commented that part of the video for the word carcass the Meaning of Cabinet carcass does not mean road kill this is the real definition of cabinet carcass "A carcass cabinet is the framework or body of the cabinet" And modustrial I love this video of the process that happened to make the warehouse what it is now. Thanks for providing the awesome video. Another thing I would recommend is for that viewer that made that comment on the carcass word I would use the other word "carcase" so it does not trigger viewers... Even though cabinet carcass means something way different then what that commenter said.
I've been a silent companion through this journey with you watching each episode one after another. Watching the whole renovation compressed into a 2h long video was still pretty fascinating but im glad i was here to see the ups and downs of your life aswell along the way. Congratulations, be proud and enjoy the heck of your finished new home! To anyone watching this video, i highly recommend watching all the separate episodes.
This was the funniest video to watch you did an excellent job, so sorry you lost your little kitty, and you were so sick, but so glad you survived. I love what you did for your new pet Rex it was extremely generous of you. Have a great life in your home.😍😍😍😍
In truth, my friend, I started this journey of yours that I just saw almost at midnight yesterday (November 01) and I kept going until that epic end. It was the first time I came to your channel and I was impressed more than the amount of techniques, tools, friends, company collaborators, but above all, the impressive ability you have to overcome, not only the (surely) thousand and one things that came up as you advanced in your project, but also those three immense things that happened to you in the middle of the development; the big health problem (you are so lucky, my friend!), the death of your feline friend (it sure hurt a lot) and the separation from your partner at that time. You really are very resilient! I congratulate you for still finishing your project in a good way. (by the way, my greetings to Tex) Bravo for this chapter! Congratulations from Chile, South America!!
It's absolutely INCREDIBLE how fast these people do these projects. Think about how long you would spend in between each of these steps figuring out what you SHOULD do, before you try to figure out how you can do. I can only imagine that everyone doing this has been doing it for years (and dozens of prior projects) in order to have the knowledge of how to basically "speak" renovation "fluently."
I'm sure I'm not the only one to say this, but I've been watching your journey from SA from the time you bought the building when covid just hit the world and have watched every video since, in fact, the minute a video landed I wouldn't waste time to watch it. it's been a great journey watching how your skills and all the rest have improved over the years and seen how your channel has grown since then, wow it has been monumental... May this new chapter of finishing off your building and moving on to the next project(s) be just as successful and hopefully we'll get to see more video's and won't stop 🙂
I Love seeing a Man doing construction. "My Father" built houses. He did it All like you! To Me that's Amazing!! "REAL MAN Stuff!!" Loving This!! Congratulations!!
Congrats on the achievement. You are a true example of how a dream+hard work can make anything possible. If I ever make it to Chicago you owe me a ☕ for watching/enjoying the video. 🍻👍
People who do this type of work just amaze me! You see the end result at the beginning, keep your vision, and are patient to see that end result become a reality. Just… wow❤
Been watching this journey for about an hour and 20 minutes now and my heart dropped when your health turned took a dive. Brought tears to my eyes knowing that everything you had to endure but you actually strengthened me for just simply appreciating your second chance at life. I genuinely thank you for sharing this moment with us all and I sincerely wish you peace and blessings.

Just a little advice from one handyman to another. Always wear boots or hiking boots when doing demo or any type of construction. I’ve learned the hard way getting a nail right through my sneakers, lol. Great job btw!!!
I had watched all of the renovation videos as they happened, so nothing was new. And I hate long TH-cam videos.... but I couldn't stop watching this one! What an amazing transformation, and I'm blown away by the vision to make it work! Fantastic job!
so amazing, what you have is exactly how I would imagine a place to be. You have everything you need and more, and the taste in interior design is right up my ally, SO SICK
I just found you today! As Beautiful as this major undertaking of this awesome building kept me on the edge of my seat with every project and all the major events you came through.. your health and the loss of your beloved Karma and a life changing breakup. The real takeaway for me was your spirit and your genuine happy nature. This world needs more people like you .. I know you’ve inspired and touched so many. I smiled , I laughed, and admired your talent! My pup consoled me when some tears fell too. Congratulations to you and bless all who helped along the way your greatly Loved. ❤

Thank you for sharing this amazing journey. Life can be mysterious sometimes. As it comes, we take one step at a time. I hope you are recovering well and your health continues improving for the best.
Watched every episode. Your dedication to doing things right and your willingness to do tasks that you have never done before is to be commended. Thanks for the allowing us to watch your project. Looking forward to your future episodes and journeys.
Can't believe a channel as big as this still reads comments. Just wants to say this video is absolutely amazing. Being young and in South Africa your amazing content motivates me to also someday renovate a home and to get up and do something with my life. So many people put up a facade on their videos but this is real content that every TH-camr should aspire to produce. Wish I had discovered the channels when the series began. Once again thanks for a great watch!
Hard to believe it's been 4 years since I was randomly suggested a video about a former attorney buying an abandoned building, glad I clicked on it. It's been an awesome journey to watch. When I see the things that you've tackled in renovating this place, whether it was something you've done before or not, it makes me think; "Maybe I can do some stuff around my house too". Looking forward to see where you go from here. How about an epoxy computer desk that's basically a diorama of the final battle from Avengers Endgame??
Im so sorry for what you went through, and to have your gf leave you when your at your lowest says alot about her. I would love to get you on my podcast one day. Talk about your mental health throughout this whole process. Keep smashing it bro! 🤜🏻🤛🏻
My thought is she wanted him to settle down with all the strenuous night and day renovations after he almost died but his passion was to finish what he started on his own so they parted ways. Of course this is purely just speculation..
I've been following you since before you bought this building. This has been an amazing adventure to follow. I'm excited for your future projects. Congratulations on your "new" home and workspace.
I am that person who stumbled onto the video and didn't have to wait the 4 years and all I can say is WOW! One that I watched for 2:08:35 and it held my attention and I didn't fast-forward to the good stuff like I normally do. LOL I love the attention to all of the detail work, especially the dog area that was thoughtful and I am sure he loves it. My favorite piece is the mirror in the master bath. Love it, great job, and glad I found your channel.
Man this brings me back when i first watched this renovation during covid. Used to wait for a new update. Then i forgot about it halfway. Ngl i miss quarantine a bit. Not covid, quarantine.
I followed your story since Covid and to see your house is complete, feels like an accomplishment to me too. Congratulations on the new home! You deserved all the hardwork you did for the building and it's looking so good!
It must be fun to demolish stuff in the US: wood, plywood and cardboard all over the place. If I need to demolish stuff in my country I'm screwed, it's brick, concrete and steel rebars even in internal walls.
I remember watching a family friend who did tile for a living when I was young. I was amazed at how tightly he could follow some of the most complicated cutouts and features! Your "hack" for the hall flooring against the brick reminded me of that!
The four-year renovation of the abandoned warehouse in Chicago is a testament to the power of vision, collaboration, and persistence. It showcases the possibilities of blending historical preservation with modern innovation, ultimately creating a space that benefits the community and sets a precedent for future urban renewal projects.
Wow! I’m watching you for the first time, and was thoroughly impressed by your work, then in February of 2022 you had a pseudo aneurysm. Whoa. I too, just suffered one in June, of my superior mesenteric colic artery. I also lost over half my blood and was airlifted to a nearby city hospital. I couldn’t believe you also suffered one, at such a young age. Your home/studio/HQ are amazing. I subscribed and rang the bell. Here’s to new leases on life 💪🙏😎😇
Truly inspirational! You were wasted as a patent attorney stuck in an office. Your building skills are top notch and love your ideas making unique features for your home. Particularly love the live edge trim on the mirror and the stairs with the lights 🎉
I've just found your video today and watched it from start to finish. You've done an incredible job and also you seem like a really nice guy so it made it twice as enjoyable to watch. I'm now subbed. Ps. As an Englishman its so nice to see an American who puts their oven into the cabinets so it's at eye-height! No idea why that hasn't caught on in the US. You can see what you're cooking and you don't have to bend over to take things in and out.

These jobs are so underrated. The skill, precision, understanding, math, etc it takes to create these spaces is undervalued.

If it was undervalued then hiring tradespeople would be cheap. I think the word you're looking for is not respected.

Thank you!! And I'm glad you made it through your health scares as well!
Thank you!
Warmest Regards - David from Melbourne, Australia

Your story is inspiring. Your resillience is simply second to none. Watching your struggles to complete this gave me my own new lease of life as well. Thank you for sharing this.
Dude, kudos. This is not just sheer work you have here. A lot had happened - from the renov, you got hospitalized, lost your buddy cat and broke up with your girlfriend at some point in time. Those were never easy but you kept going. Kudos to you man. More blessings to you and to all your friends who helped you get this dream project done.
I am happy you are still between us. Take care of yourself. It’s been a ride so far!
can't believe it's been 4 years. felt like I found your videos and started renovating my own home just a few months ago. time has been flying by like crazy
We feel old
Strong men keep going even when faced with very difficult and sometimes life threatening situations. You are one of the few and thank you for sharing this journey. It is an inspiration to all!
Dude 4 years flew by so quickly, didnt realize it had been that long. Congratulations on the project complete!
thanks!
Was about to say the same type of thing, people are way too easily triggered these days.
This young man is amazing and has faith of the heart through it all .
I agree with this 💯
This was the funniest video to watch you did an excellent job, so sorry you lost your little kitty, and you were so sick, but so glad you survived.
Thank you!
May this new chapter of finishing off your building and moving on to the next project(s) be just as successful and hopefully we'll get to see more video's and won't stop 🙂
thank you!
Hard times don’t last but tough people do 👊🏽👊🏽 you did a great work and I loved every single detail .. cheers brother 👊🏽
People who do this type of work just amaze me! You see the end result at the beginning, keep your vision, and are patient to see that end result become a reality. Just… wow❤
thanks!
It feels like saying goodbye to an old friend. It looks amazing, and it has been an honour to witness all the hard work that you put into it. A toast🥂
Thank you!
i thank the youtube algorithm for giving me this video. never heard of you before, but this project was amazing, the final result is absolutely stunning.... great job!!!!
Congratulations to everyone involved because this is a great watch for anyone 😊 thank you
Just a little advice from one handyman to another. Always wear boots or hiking boots when doing demo or any type of construction. I’ve learned the hard way getting a nail right through my sneakers, lol. Great job btw!!!
Mad respect to you for not monetizing this 2 hour vid!
Omg he didn't?? That's wild!
I had watched all of the renovation videos as they happened, so nothing was new. And I hate long TH-cam videos.... but I couldn't stop watching this one! What an amazing transformation, and I'm blown away by the vision to make it work! Fantastic job!
thank you!
so amazing, what you have is exactly how I would imagine a place to be.

just moved to Canada from Philippines and construction are so different and this channel helps me adjust what material to use when i want something change in our house
Welcome to Canada 🇨🇦! This guy is amazing! I hope like this guy, you are able to make your dreams come true in this beautiful country!

Wow!! 4 years?! Thank you for getting through Covid with your awesome videos. Beautiful job, well done!
Time sure flies doesn't it!
Wow. I'm as impressed by the change in your life during 2020 as I am of the remodeled building. Gives a lot to think about. Nicely Done.
Thank you for sharing this amazing journey. Life can be mysterious sometimes. As it comes, we take one step at a time. I hope you are recovering well and your health continues improving for the best.
Your videos kept me entertained throughout the Covid pandemic...the renovations absolutely stunning!
Thank you!!
@@modustrial I presume you would still be posting videos of your furniture now that the renovations are complete?
Watched every episode. Your dedication to doing things right and your willingness to do tasks that you have never done before is to be commended. Thanks for the allowing us to watch your project. Looking forward to your future episodes and journeys.
thank you!
no thank you for binging us on this amazing the journey and I'm glad you're still with us
Can't believe a channel as big as this still reads comments.
You literally built what I've wanted but wasn't creative enough to conceptualize. Thank you for the ideas!/inspiration. it came out great !
it was an awesome ride! So glad TH-cam hit me up with episode 3 right after the start! All the best from Germany mate!
The best part of this video was how you never let your life slip away from your hands despite all the hardships. Never give up. Stay strong my man.
Wow, a whole run-through for a Friday night! *grabs beer and snacks*
🍻🥨🍿
I popped corn. Twice.
Boy You sure I have a Lotta toys to have fun and get it done correctly. That’s wonderful.
Love Ten-Hun's work!
Thank you!
Yeah girls don't care as soon as they think the grass is greener on the other side, they're going to leave. Sad reality for us men.
Do you really think she needed to stay even though there was no feelings and she didn't want to stay? Wow, says alot about you
My thought is she wanted him to settle down with all the strenuous night and day renovations after he almost died but his passion was to finish what he started on his own so they parted ways. Of course this is purely just speculation..
How do you know this?
I've been following you since before you bought this building. This has been an amazing adventure to follow. I'm excited for your future projects. Congratulations on your "new" home and workspace.
thanks much!
You deserved all the hardwork you did for the building and it's looking so good!
thanks!
It's been 4 years, huh? Time flies, thanks for the journey!
It must be fun to demolish stuff in the US: wood, plywood and cardboard all over the place. If I need to demolish stuff in my country I'm screwed, it's brick, concrete and steel rebars even in internal walls.
Always love a warehouse or barn conversion project. So much potential. Love to see a man at work building a home and stuff :)
Hi Mike!
Grabs popcorn!
🍿🍿
Yeehaw what a long and memorable journey it has been.
it definitely has been!
Here’s to new leases on life 💪🙏😎😇
So glad you made made it! Here's to making the most of life!
This is literally the coolest video I’ve ever seen on this platform. Great job men!
I love when build a nice house yall are making some good money 💴
2:08:00 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 God is good ❤️
I legit possess none of these characteristics lol. When I see a blank canvas all I see is a blank canvas.
Truly inspirational! You were wasted as a patent attorney stuck in an office. Your building skills are top notch and love your ideas making unique features for your home. Particularly love the live edge trim on the mirror and the stairs with the lights 🎉
Thank you Jennifer!
