I like Bixby (don't judge). It's useful for certain things. But the reason I needed this tutorial was because I downloaded a talking alarm clock and set it as the default when asking Google to set an alarm. So now I can say "OK Google, set an alarm for tomorrow at 9 called "don't forget to buy bread" (for example), and tomorrow at 9, it says that out loud. So it's way more convenient than typing in that request to say the alarm name out loud. Regarding this tutorial, I've set the side key to open Google assistant if I double tap it, so I can still use Bixby by holding it in and Google assistant by double tapping. Best of both worlds. Just wanted to say thank you for this tutorial. Tried other apps and they didn't work well. This not only was the only one that worked on my phone, but it was also the simplest. I've got my camera shortcut in other places and I'm using a flip 5 (if anyone was wondering).
Thanks a lot! On my galaxy s22 I could not find "Routines" in the advanced menu, perhaps because my phone is not set to English. But using the settings search, and searching for "Routines", I was able to enter the menu and add a new routine. Everything else was as in your guide. This works great now!
Thanks Man! Works great on A52s android 12 One UI 4.1 It's not very wise by Samsung to force to use Bixby on long press of side button, instead to launch Google Assistant. You've made my phone much more pleasant to use 👍
Hmmm. Do you have any other button remapping apps installed? Also try it again after setting the Power button to open Bixby (Settings>Advanced features>Side key). Let me know if it changes.

This is by far the best way of doing this. It's not a double press but a long press to access Google assistant. Which is perfect

i have s10+ when i go into bixby "add routine" i only see the unlock with finger print option. The button action option isnt there..please help

There is no side key option on Galaxy S10+
It was a few months ago but now it's gone after I reset my phone and reinstalled the app
