    Good advice Johnny.
    Amazing how many people don't know these simple things.
    That rah,rah,rah noise is annoying on the trail for the driver and it's a 2 minute fix. There's videos here on TH-cam that explains how U-joints speed and slow down on every rotation and when both U-joints are "Enphase" they cancel each other out and you eliminate the noise.
    I learned this as at a young age because I've work on classic cars with my dad and had several muscle cars and trucks since then.
    Great video as always.
    You have a great day.

    Hello my friend, I’m learning a lot from this video, thanks for sharing this. I have a question: How tight should the drive shaft end mate with the axle housing? If I see correctly you have a little bit of gap there when you installed it, may I ask what is the purpose of the gap? Thank you again! 😀

    • @burdon84
      @burdon84  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The gap between the end of the driveshaft and diff case technically isn't the important as it varies on all kinds of different brands.

    • @summersong88
      @summersong88 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@burdon84 Thank you. The gap does make a little bit of play or slack, if you will, on my unit. Whereas if I install it as close as possible to the axle housing, it is very taut and solid, however, some say it increases stress on the components. Any thoughts on this please? Thanks again.

      @@summersong88 it'll only increase drag on the driveline if it's binding with something

    If you use the base of the lighter flame on your heatshrink you don't get any soot.

    I've never really noticed any difference in phasing when it comes to crawlers. I assume it's a good idea for faster revving trucks with brushless systems.

    • @burdon84
      @burdon84  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally speaking the slower you go, the more you'll notice it, it gets worse and worse as speed rises, until it evens out as speed increases

    • @alvinmarin8648
      @alvinmarin8648 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@burdon84 I guess what I'm saying is that when you are creeping over rocks, it's hardly noticeable, if at all. Its like an out of balance car tire only shakes at higher speeds. The good thing is that it's easy to align.

    What to do if its still not smooth?

    • @burdon84
      @burdon84  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Check for any kinds of binding throughout the driveline. Make sure everything turns smoothly as possible without too much resistance

      @@burdon84 I think I need to shim the difs. Su4c has loads of play. Didnt expect that of a flagship version

    • @burdon84
      @burdon84  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Sinaassnipper all crawlers, regardless of the brand have slop.. it's there for a reason, so there's freedom to move to decrease changes of breakages.
      If your driveline had zero slop, the gears should shred very easily at its instant full stress on them

    • @Sinaassnipper
      @Sinaassnipper 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alright thanks! I take it to the local crawler park when its finished and ask if someone knows where it comes from. I did everything you did but still not smooth
