Do you hear an annoying humming noise coming from your Class C RV at around 60-70 mph? This is most likely a driveshaft that is not aligned properly. Having a properly aligned drive shaft is essential to having a good riding rv the whole family can enjoy. Aligning your driveshaft seems like a large under taking but in actuality it is very easy and you can do this in your drive way over the course of an afternoon. Watch as Jeremy and his son kaiden show us how easy it really is to align your driveshaft. The motorhome they are working on was recently improved with a 6" suspension lift kit from WeldTec Designs.

started installing my lift from you guys at weldtec a couple weeks ago, when i first started getting in there I couldnt believe how much crap was hanging loose....wish i could tell all RV owners to get in there and zip tie their stuff in place!
Just installed your 3” Econoline kit. The driveshaft video was very helpful
Terrific! Hope you are enjoying your Ocotillo Cruiser Kit
Jeremy, do you have a 3 inch lift option for the econoline based E450 motorhomes using the new heavy duty progressive rear springs?
Awesome video can’t wait for the next one.
thanks for the support!
Great video! I’m in the midst of trying to figure out the same issue with our 2015 Forest River. Three piece driveshaft and just had it completely gone through. Ujoints, carriers and balance. Still have a vibration at 40mph. Wondering if maybe one of your kits might help. I will have to check the alignment.
Thanks for the info Jeremy. Sounds like the exact problem I have with my stock 32 foot class c Forest River. I have a small vibration at about 40 mph. It goes away after that and then I get a humming noise about 60 to 65. At 70 it’s not as bad but still there. I will check my angles next week. Any other advice would be great.
Wait I’m having the exact same issue. Any luck on resolution?
@@Tallglassofredwine Yes I did get mine fixed, I ended up taking my driveshaft to a local semi truck shop that had a person that specialized in balancing driveshafts. This took care of my problems completely. I tried what they said to do in this video and lined it up like he said and it didn't do any good at all. Even though the driveshaft had balance weights on it from the factory it was not balanced correctly. I think it cost me about $150 or $200 to have it balanced but I took the driveshaft out myself and took it to the shop. my guess is it would be about double that it they took the driveshaft out and put it back in. I don't know how many places are setup to balance these two piece driveshafts, I was lucky and had local shop that could do it. I would never have been happy with my motorhome until I got this fixed.
@@stevedroste6953 thank you so much, being a female on the road I have to sound like I know more than I do so I’m not ripped off it’s happened more than I’d like it to so I appreciate the help!
Wonderful information.
Awesome! Glad you found the video helpful and informative!
excellent video. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Wow, great video. I have been fighting this vibration on my 2022 Greyhawk 30Z which has 3 drive shafts on it. Where do you get these carrier spacers?
Glad you found it helpful.

@@jeremysworld10 Brought my motorhome to a driveshaft shop in the area and they found the yoke nut was not tight at the transmission. They jacked the rear axle up onto jack stands and as they sped up they could see the vibration in the driveshaft. At this point, they found the issue. Not sure if this was a Ford issue or a Jayco issue as Jayco does extend the chassis and drive shafts after delivery from Ford. Jayco said they would cover the cost but I have not seen a check yet. I still have a slight vibration but the drive shaft is not vibrating.
Just picked up a 2017 Minnie Winnie on the e450. Has an unbearable "harmonic buzz" in the coach precisely between 60-70mph. Tends to be less noticable if I am in higher RMPs. Does this sound like a symptom of a misaligned drive line? Thank you!!
I wish u showed where the front string goes to. It looks like its clamped to the bottom of that front bearing. Im not sure where to clamp it
END OF THE TRANS TAILSHAT TO THE CENTER OF THE U JOINTS ON THE REAREND
Thank you for the video. Our class c with 3pc drive shaft has something with the driveshaft vibrating. I put a lazer on the bottom of the driveshaft lined it up with pinyon on rearend and transmission output. One hanger is about 1/2" out of center the other is out about 1/4". Both are in the same direction. Should this be straight? I have not been able to get a definite answer. Maybe they put this offset to make sure the u joint bearings are always in a slight rotation no mater what the angle is??
You want it to be as straight as possible, you could measure between u joint caps if necessary.
After my 4" weldtec lift was installed the hum started at 71 mph. 2 spacers later and it was gone.
was this video helpfull to get your driveshaft aligned?
How much lift was on this RV, 6 inch? I’m planning on having your 2 inch getaway kit and wonder if it will change the angle enough to make vibration?
yes this RV got the 6" suspension package and really it all varies but you can always give our tech team an email: info@weldtecdesigns.com
Jeremy, do you offer a 3 inch lift for Econoline E450 based motorhomes using the heavy duty progressive rear springs? I kinda like the middle ground that would offer between the 4 inch adventurer and the 2 inch getaway
