A few minutes in and what the hell is green thinking how are you gonna win without any resources, he could have just taken the 5/9/10 and 6/3/11 and built to the 4/11 for a very good game but he was so greedy for the wood port that he surely killed his own game.
Oh yeah, it definitely wasn't the best option for them with their picks in 4th position.
Might be one of those situations where they just wanted to YOLO this game.

Pretty rough for Red. I think I made a good decision during the early game to go after them, but they really weren't able to get anything going... Brutal! 😬
Why didn’t you cut off green in the beginning. You still could have easily gotten the 10 3 11 afterwards
Yeah, I definitely had the opportunity to do it. It just didn't seem like it was going to be critical one way or the other, whereas getting the settlement down on the 10/3/11 as quickly as possible was much more significant for me.
I also knew that I wanted to double-back to the 4/11 with the 3:1 port, so giving Green access to the Ore wasn't really going to hurt my progress. One thing that I didn't mention during the game is that sharing the 6 Ore with two more players has its advantages as well since at that point only Blue would ever block it and the other two players would help defend it.
As I discuss after the game, this video/game is a really good example of a scenario where focusing on my own progress was much more useful than trying to find ways to take something away from the other players.

Why not go for the 9 11 4 as your second settlement
Not a bad idea and basically achieves a similar thing with the expansion to the 10/3/11.
I think the advantage with the 3/11/6 is that I have the 'Road Building' resource production to begin with, so it's likely going to be easier for me to get that first settlement down, seeking the Wheat (abundant) vs. Brick (scarce) 🤓👍

This has become one of my "Go To" memes. Not sure if it makes people laugh more than it annoys them, but it seems to be a good way to disarm someone when they complain about getting robbed.
