I like the way you play in such a calm manner . Even when things are so tense and you 7 out repeatedly you don't get mad.....at least outwardly, and you don't yell at your opponents. I appreciate how respectful you are even when you are losing ( which obviously didn't happen this time)
The quality of the videos just keeps getting better. Great job. I like the plow splash screen idea.

It took me a while to figure out how to make that splash thingy look reasonable and then another while to get it to work in a 'Live Stream' situation (with video transparency, etc.), but we got to play with it today and it's definitely a fun little addition.
I was workshopping a few other ideas with viewers so if you have any fun/creative thoughts please drop a line.

I actually remember looking back at that spot thinking I may have missed chance to take longest road. It's so so close...

I got very lucky with the dev pulls and was extremely fortunate to roll as many 7s as I did considering I never got Knights.
You could try extorting purple to not get cut off to the 3/10/11. Try to get a couple of ore/wheat trades out of it cos the 2/9/10 is just port fuel for you.

Hi Ziggy! Do you know when did the term "plow" became a thing in Catan? Or who popularized it? As far as I remember, in the old days of the legend Neonate this term was completely unknown. "Cut off" was the term used back then for this kind of action.

The first time I heard it was definitely in a DeLighted video.
Not sure whether he invented it or picked it up somewhere, but since he is the biggest Catan content creator I'd say he's without a doubt the one who popularised it.
The inspiration for doing this type of thing mainly came from the ChessBrah guys who have their 'KO' animations, as well as Retired Hero that has a few fun Live Stream triggers for different Catan 'In Game' actions (like plows, YOP, Mono, etc.).
If either of you have other fun / creative ideas please let me know...

@@TryNiceGames I like Dylighted, but honestly I don't like the "plow" term. Dillan is a smart and creative guy, with a contagious enthusiasm about the game, and a unique personality. But he is also young, and the hormones are running in his veins, making him think about sex every seven seconds or something. Which is good for reproductive purposes (we don't want our species to become extinct), but also a bit annoying for an audience that may not be in the same mood. So I am not surprised that he has chosen a term loaded with sexual connotations, but personally I'll continue using the "cut off" term when I chat in my own games. 😃

Very good point Julie.
My wife and I are responsible Cat owners so when he goes outside we put his collar on. We also bring him in in the evenings as it gets darker, knowing that he's more dangerous to the creatures that come out at night.
To be fair, some of the types of lizards that I was talking about are probably more dangerous to him than he is to them. Lookup 'Monitor Lizard' if you're interested...

@@TryNiceGames Try nice are there poisonous snakes where you live in Australia? If that is the case your cat wouldn't be the apex predator in the fields? and so it would be for HER protection to bring her in at night! Also Question: Do people eat kangaroo? I have often wondered this about Australia. Forgive my ignorance ( I live in Northern Canada where Polar Bears roam. EH?)
