That robber on the 8 wheat describes every Catan game I play, even if I'm in last, still gets blocked somehow

I think the 8-10-3 pointing up or right would have been a better pick. You didn't need the extra sheep and the extra wood and brick would have been helpful. But in retrospect, there weren't a lot of 8s rolled, so it may have been a disaster. You made the best of a bad situation.
Hi Ziggy! To be honest I think that your hesitant play is partly to blame for the outcome of this game. 17:32, critical moment. The central 11-4-5 spot was up for grabs, but instead of fighting for this spot you played safely be doubling on the 8-wheat. As it turned out this was not safe at all, because it made the 8-wheat a robber-magnet for the rest of the game.
That said, playing 3rd or 4th on this board was certainly a major disadvantage, since the 1st and 2nd players had exclusive access to ore.
That‘s exactly what i wanted to say. You had the better chances to get to that spot and could have connected afterwards to have a good chance for longest road.
Unfortunately orange and white played pretty bad, cant believe green could get army and road...
But of course being 3rd or 4th here was pretty terrible. I could have imagined to Start at your 5 8 10 and the 6 2 ore port, heading for the 6 3 ore spot and having a pretty decent ows setup then
Yeah, both of these ideas occurred to me in hindsight. I think the best option was for me to just bite the bullet during the setup and jump on the 6/2 Ore with the port + 5/8/10 for a strong OWS game.
Once I committed to the Wheat port I should have looked for something a bit more bold than just going for the double-up on the 8 Wheat and the 11/4/5 was definitely the play.

I would not have held the road at turn one after being able to hold on to it, i would say that was risky
WOW WHAT A HARD GAME TO WATCH From your stand point,,I kept yelling at the other players to leave you alone to no avail.Well i didn't really yell out loud, but in my brain for sure!
One thought what if you had taken the 2,6 ore port and done a complete ore wheat sheep game this time???
