    There is a heated steering wheel on the Canadian version.. Even in the SE trim. That is the blank button beside the heated seats on your version.

      Never had a full electric but it has come to my understanding you don't have that axiety for long. You soon adapt to the realities of charging. Having said that, this car is for me cos I can't charge at home or easily at work... (when I come to work, all chargers are occupied by early birds...)

    Very well pointed out the good and and points. If I may add another BAD point not specific to Corolla Cross but also to most of 2023 Toyota vehicles is that they deleted the key fob remote engine start and added app based remote start. On the surface it sounds convenient and modern. But the fact is the customer will have to start to pay for the service once the free trial period ends and that is not acceptable for an economy car and brand as Toyota. Honda, Kia, Hyundai and others all offer key fob engine start which is free to use for the life of the vehicle.

    Picked up a used 2022 Corolla Cross LE AWD for 25k. Think I made the correct decision. Kinda wanted the hybrid but seeing this video makes me think it wouldn’t have been worth the extra 5-10k for me personally. Thanks for the video 👍

  • @DoReMeaCulpa
    @DoReMeaCulpa ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I would have liked to see and hear more about the cargo capacity. Also, another negative is, as I understand it, the absence of a spare tire in the hybrid version of the corolla cross. I find that to be the biggest deal breaker, way more so than charging ports and cup holders. Otherwise, this car has a lot going for it

    • @mrrod3004

      to screw the customer and make more money, is that not common sense to you? take youre spare out youre vehicles before you trade it in or sell it.

    This is the vehicle a lot of us have been waiting for. I’d even consider buying the XLE gas model after I rented one. The wireless charger didn’t like my Otter phone case, but I can plug instead. Not heated steering isn’t a big deal. As for a spare, I think I’d take the kit out & put a spare there. I’d have to. Can’t go on a trip w/o a spare! Surprised the Cross wouldn’t be quiet, like the hybrid Camry. Would’ve love a dark burgundy for this vehicle.

    Good review. The only drawback to the vehicle for me is the lack of adequate sound insulation. I would probably put a rubber mat jn that phone spot and never use the wireless charging.

  • @watersrising8044

    You need to discuss safety options like blind spot monitoring and spare tire or lack thereof, rather than whether the steering wheel heats up for gosh sake.

    i have the corolla cross with 2.0 engine. i use extreme driving style to get 5.0L/100km, which is 47 MPG. i never go over 100km/h, seldom let the engine go over 2500rpm when accelerating and hyper mill when ever possible. so l smile when i see the gas pump, and its a different kind of fun to squeeze for MPG.

    Nice review. I just picked up a 2024 XSE and love it. FYI Toyota must have responded to the issues with wireless charging. it works great on my 2024 with an iPhone 13 ProMax in a case. Never pauses charging and doesn't move around. I can see that the charging pad is different from the one in your review. It has a rail on each side of the phone and has a downward slope that keeps the phone firmly in place.

    @kenhoward3512 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I've never used a heated steering wheel, but was counting on my next vehicle having one, so this is a miss (an almost-unbelievable one on the top-level XSE Hybrid). The console cup holders are also almost-unbelievably poorly designed. As far as interior noise, yes, both Toyota and Honda often use too little, likely to cut weight and production cost. After lots of poor reviews, Honda will then boast of adding "extra sound deadening" on refreshed vehicles after the first 2 years of a model run - and it will always *still* not be enough.

    • @arhamkhakwani5851

    Why would turning up the temperature use more fuel? Running a heated steering wheel causes the alternator to work harder and the alternator gets its power from the engine.

    • @jillciminillo

      HVAC makes the engine work harder. Most EVs include heated seats & steering wheel because they require less fuel.

    There are much better vehicles at that price point. They may not be a hybrid, but you can get a CX 5 in a very well appointed, trim level with a much more refined cabin, for the same price. That doesn’t include the multiple thousand dollar mark up above sticker the dealerships will be charging. That is the biggest problem. Toyota has this vehicle $5000 over what it should be for MSRP.

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Shooing around and you’ll likely be able to find MSRP for this. And both have their pros and cons, though this hybrid should likely save you $500-750 a year in fuel costs.
