    Thank you for the comparison - very, very useful! I guess the XSE could be thought of as a no-brainer, but then dealers in my area are still tacking on that "market adjustment" fee. I went to to one this morning, and they had one L in the parking lot with a MA fee of $7500!! Traveling out of state to avoid that is a total no-brainer!

    The S does not have a roof rack but has removeable rubber covering roof rail installation, which can be installed with a roof rack sold seperately. Mine did not come with Retractable Tunu Cover but was able to order one. Also I installed projector door lamps on all four door panels facing down and turn on when doors are opened, something i wish Toyota offered standard on all their vehicles.

      Aftermarket rear wiper would be crazy expensive. You would need to get entirely new rear glass because the standard glass has no place for the housing for the wiper motor. And you'd need to run new cable all the way to the battery to get electricity back there.

  • @lindathomas2407
    @lindathomas2407 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Jeff-Thanks for your comparisons; they're really helpful (I've subscribed and liked). When they announced the Cross Hybrid in June of 2022, Toyota said they'd also have the hybrid in the "L" series Corolla Cross too (the LE and XLE). That did not happen; maybe for the 2024 model? (the "S" series bulbous nose is not of my liking). AS to dealer markup, you're right: dealers have the right to "markup/gouge the customers" on sale price. If they do it during the sale transaction, there's a strong possibility they're ALSO doing it on the maintenance side of the house. Since maintenance is where dealers make most of their profits, markups may be "short term gain for long term loss" as I wouldn't take my car to a dealer for maintenance that hurt me on the sale. Just sayin'...

    I for sure take out the S model immediately based on it not having the back wiper, still an amazing value. I am torn between the XS and XSE. I think it just depends on personal preference. I like the displace on the XSE, it is most similar to my current car and it gives it a more sporty look, which is a must for me. I have been on the market for a new car, but no one currently has a car that fit my needs. I was doing research and saw they were finally releasing a new version, hybrid!

      I'm waiting on my XSE hybrid at the moment, don't know when it will arrive, but definitely excited about it! I've heard outstanding reviews on the hybrid, and the maintenance isn't that bad at all. 2.0 l ECTV transmission isn't bad. They rate it for having 41-45 miles per gallon city! That's insane for a suv... one downside about the hybrid is that it doesn't come with a spare tire... there's no room, but it would be cool if they at the very least had an option to put it on the back of the door like they do with jeeps. Other than that, with AAA I think I'm alright 😅. Still very excited about getting the top trim in a hybrid...😊

      @@Toyotajeff Well, that's disappointing, as Toyota still lists them on their Website upcoming vehicles. This erodes my confidence in Toyota. I suppose they're also only available in the colors you reviewed, not in the red, silver and black they list on their Website, too. :-/ Appreciate your review and info.

    No sale. My roomy and comfortable 2018 Camry Hybrid is low miles and currently delivering 43.5 mpg in combined driving. If I lived in a snow state the AWD would be attractive, but for now I wait to see what the 2024 Camry Hybrid will offer.

  • @A_A_J.

    I understand saving money wherever possible but it should not be at the expense of basic functionality such as visibility through the rear window under poor conditions. It’s AWD! People are buying it to drive in poor conditions! No rear wiper?
    The only thing I can imagine to cover that would be to make the rear camera function while driving forward, AND be mounted high to see farther and avoid dust/mud.

    Does roof rails standard or optional? I think for most of us it’s useless things, especially on hybrid, it will only herd mpg and never will be used

    I absolutely dislike the roof rail & rack (I wish it's optional) so that leaves me the S model but I want the sliding visor, blind spot monitor + manual lumbar adjustment. I hope they come standard next year.

    • @thomassteele7451
      @thomassteele7451 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think the rail is just optional. I would rather have the sunroof free of the bar. I liked the gas model ‘23 XLE, so if the insurance is too high on the hybrid, I could go that route. So glad the hybrids are finally on the Toyota website. I have to decide on a color😮

    • @HumbleBearcat

      @@thomassteele7451 I saw it on the Toyota website that the rails are there but the bars are optional. I would rather have no rails because I already have a Q5 with rails and I never gotten the bars.

    I’m surprised the torque is so low for having electric motors as a hybrid. That can’t be right.. Usually electric motors are mostly torque. This hybrid has 3 electric motors. The rear one gives it 40 HP. The front electric motors are 152 ft lb and the 2.0 I4 is 139 ft-lb.
    Toyota hasn’t released official combined torque specs on this. It’s obviously well above 200 ft-lb of torque though.

    You can always tell that Toyota cuts their costs with their cut-rate looking exhaust systems. They need to take some lessons from Mazda in that regard. Have to pay attention to the finer details.
