- A Toyota Repair Specialist reviews the 2024 Toyota Corolla Hybrid trim which most people are not aware that it uses Toyota's 5th Generation Hybrid system.
We start the review with a proper technical review of the 5th hybrid system which is shared with the latest generation Prius.
Then we take a look underneath it, Inside it and Outside. Then we talk about some things we don't like.

I really appreciate the way he talks. No fancy words; just down to earth type of person.
This car is now the same size as my old RAV4 from the 90s.
crazy how they grow with each generation. I still remember the 1st gen RAV4 from the 90s 😃
Your new car reviews are extremely well done. I appreciate your opinion on what is GOOD and what is BAD on the whole car. The average vehicle buyer does not have your knowledge which makes purchasing one car over another a very difficult situation.
Now he just needs clickbait titles like Scotty Kilmer.
@@thoughtloop1737Scotties click baits are hilarious.
He is the go to man, honesty, integrity from a mechnical expert! I've started doing oil changes every 6 months as he recommends, not the once a year the dealership says Lexus needs. The engine is running almost silent now & I am getting about 5-10% better gas mileage. Thank you Mr. Car Care Nut!
Kilmer is stupid@@thoughtloop1737
Scotty has bought at least 20 different cars according to his titles 😂😂@@thoughtloop1737
Having owned the first generation Prius for over 110,000 miles, Toyota never ceases to improve.
As always a nice review. Hi Mr. Amd, can you review a dodge journey sxt 2015 if you can please thank you!
110k is not many miles. So let me show you how it’s done. 2018 Highlander V6 480k miles. My biggest expense was the water pump at 320k miles.
Apart from with electric vehicles. The Bz4RX is like a half developed car.
My parents bought the first Prius in our area in 2001. Mom still has it. Runs great. Yes the hybrid battery had to be replaced but that was due to water damage. Best car they ever bought. It actually only has a bit over 110,000 miles as well.
@@disarchitected Toyota will be proven correct, the market for EV's is limited, despite all the Teslas you see on the road, You barely see any other EV brand.
I bought one back in October That trim and that color around 1300 miles on it. I love the color and it catches attention. It's a solid car, drives well in the snow as I just learned on Tuesday. Gets 40 MPG give or take depending on how aggressive you drive it. Adaptive cruise control and lane keeping (which are both new to me) make highway driving easy. Rear seats won't fold if the front seats are too far back. The fuel light and warning bells come on with 2.5 gallons still in the tank. The app is great when it works, or it may be easier to just go out and start the car rather than waiting for it to connect for remote start. After driving in eco mode for a month switching to sport mode can be a surprise as it really takes the reins off the engine. Overall just a solid car which I'm going to drive for the next 10+ years.
I also like your color ("to each their own,")
I agree on "that color" 😁 I have it too and I loooove it!
I agree I also like that mustard color. Very unique color for sure.@@sfkendrick
Best color they come in
I’m glad you did a review of my car. The mechanical side especially. I like to use Sport mode, but all are fine. You talked about some stuff covered, some exposed. It makes for a little road noise, but no big deal. There isn’t much I don’t like about mine. Was well worth the wait.
I have the S trim in beautiful celestite gray color. I average 44 mpg, and in the city I get 55-60 mpg in long trips. Amazing car.
Could listen to this man all day long. I trust his honest approach and his technical expertise. Well done and thank you!
His delivery is flawless, high quality video, and beyond informative! He played a huge part in my decision to go with Toyota after 70 years of GM, Ford, and Jeep. My 2021 Highlander is my first new car since 1979!
Hope Toyota is following him, too!
No spare
I really like that you talk and show technical part of the car.
LOVE your IMPROVED VIDEO QUALITY. Worthwhile video as always.
I bought a CCH in the SE trim 2 months ago. I took it in for the 5,000 mile maintenance yesterday and paid for the oil change. Am so pleased to hear your positive review of the technical and mechanical aspects of the car. Effing love it! And yes, I have the acidic blast color. ❤
These in-depth reviews of new Toyota's are my favorite type of video on your channel!!
Thank you so much! And, may the Lord bless and keep you as well:)
I have this exact color and model 2023. I am really enjoying this car. Love the feature if someone walks to close to my car while it’s powered on it will alert me. The blind spot alerts are my favorite as I travel frequently. So extremely helpful. The color is a plus for me especially at night. Great review!
Love your in depth, mechanically focused videos. While you were describing the ‘gaps’ in body panels I couldn’t help be stunned at “The Gap” and uneven panel alignment at the 13:55 mark. Truly off putting.
AMD, When you reviewed the under-powered, non-Hybrid Corolla Cross on March 23, 2022, you were still shooting videos in your home garage. In that review you paused, took a deep breath and called it, "HOPELESSLY SLOW!!" I implored, begged and beseeched people to wait for the Hybrid. I am glad we agreed then and we agree now. Over all, I would still pay the extra cash and take the extra back seat space*, utility, tow capacity and spare tire that come with the RAV4 Hybrid. 😉 * The HR-V's back seat legroom puts the Corolla Cross to shame.
I watched his and others videos on the Cross and decided a RAV4 would be a great choice until yesterday. I took my Highlander in for service and toured the showroom. I tried to enter-sit in a RAV4 and could NOT bend my neck enough to get in the damn thing without bumping my head at ear level. I am only 5'10". RIDICULOUS!!
@@sixty9harleyPittsburghPAP At 6'2", I feel your pain. When the current generation of RAV4 made its debut, there were still (made by Toyota) Yaris hatches at my local dealer. I noticed the tiny Yaris had more headroom than the new RAV4. 🤨The TNGA generation of models has been awful for tall drivers.
pssst, did you open the door first, you didn't say lol @@sixty9harleyPittsburghPAP
The Shadow outline of the MK IV supra in the background on the lift makes this part of the video worth watching!
As always, an excellent, professional, and unbiased honest review. I agree wholeheartedly with Mr Carcare Nut's sentiment above the color of the vehicle he's reviewing. If space isn't a big deal, one can purchase a combination that includes a mini spare tire, jack, and lug wrench, and secure it in the cargo area; it's annoying that this even has to be considered, but the space taken up is not all that much. I definitely would consider purchasing this vehicle if I downsize from my Rav4 Hybrid.
This was super helpful. Thank you for putting so much time into making this!
Wow everything he said was so spot on, what a great well thought out review.
Great job as always Amed. Really enjoy your insight and knowledge you always bring to the table. I do agree that these are cars people want to last a long time and to drive to work and back without all the repair bills many other car companies offer. Now if only i could get my hands on one to buy it????
I got this acidic blast color and it turns head actually. Love it! 🐝
As always your programming is really good. Don't change, and don't listen to most of us commentators.
Your shop looks good. Two Thumbs up.
👍👍
I drove the non hybrid for a test drive. It was fine for size and features but the hybrid was still a year out with no delivery date, I ordered the 23rd Rav Ltd Hybrid last summer got it in April. Would probably still be waiting for the hybrid Cross. Can only wait so long when you are driving long distance and your car is 19 years old.
Great review. I like the more technical aspects that are not touched upon in other reviews. You earned my subscription!
Last year I bought the CCH in Guatemala, the 2022 model with the P610 transmission (1.8 l 2ZR-FXE engine and it’s not 4wd). Actually, we love our car. For us (2 kids, 14 and 12) it’s ok for now. It does have a spare tire, but the small one. It’s making in average 47 mpg, so it’s awesome! But I think in the near future we’d like to get a bigger car, the Innova hybrid. But this car is amazing. BTW, your videos about the hybrid models helped me a lot to make the decision last year! So, thank you for the work you do!!
So much learnt here, much appreciated. Excellent review as always.
Your indepth reviews are absolutely the best. Thank you so much for continuing to educate us.
That said, certain reviews would also benefit from a short test drive, driving experience.
One inportant fact (that I may have missed) is that straight gas, non-hybrid version is so under powered ..that many even have concerns about ‘safely’ while merging into highway traffic from the top of a entrance ramp.
My neighbor has the gas cross and is very dissapointed with its seemingly lack of power.
The cross hybrid on the other hand, while not exactly a powerhouse, is NOTABLY more powerful ..as might be expected from a hybrid.
A strong reason to choose hybrid for those on the fence between hybrid ..or gas.
Thanks again for your continuing great reviews.
Did your neighbor not drive it before buying?
Thank you, sir. How thorough you are. So honest and straightforward. I appreciate you. Thank you.
Another thing we noticed is the Mk4 Supra in the back, thank you for the great content you are posting
Great review and great car! The exposed catalytic converter is the only thing preventing me from buying this car. As a victim of catalytic converter theft once, I don't want to go through the horror of having to deal with catalytic converter theft again on a new car. I wish Toyota would move the location of the catalytic converter to the engine bay or offer a factory-installed protective cage that prevents easy access to the catalytic converter.
You can buy a cover on the aftermarket or have a welder design one for you. Nice solid piece of steel bolted in will do the job.
Just buy a cover.
Thanks for your sharing! Very professional and specific. 👍🏼 I like watching your presentations for we know more about cars not just the driving experience and outlook, but also the juice inside. I feel fortunate to get this XSE trim, but in red, in late October. I feel so smooth in driving. Since we don't have children, the size is just right for us while RAV4 is a bit bigger comparingly. The most attractive thing about it is definitely the 5th generation hybrid which no other car has yet equipped with it. I do like the techie and stylish things on this trim that you say may be too much. As far as this is my first brand new efficient and affordable car, I think the signatures and technologies keep me in the unique forefront of the auto world, particularly in a location where there are too many RAV4 on the road. 😂
Enjoyed the review. Second time watching it. Two days ago my wife ordered a 2024 Corolla Hybrid XSE all options.
Keep making reviews!! You do them best. I’m receiving my car end of this week. And you’ve helped me decide
A great review. Keep up the good work. God bless you.
Anyone else notice the Black MK4 Supra on the 4 post lift! The OEM wheels caught my eye right away.
The rear gave me Toyota Sienna vibes right away!! SO GLAD you pointed that out hahaha
Great review. I purchased a 2024 Cross Hybrid NIghtshade today because the dealership had several in-stock, whereas most dealerships in my area are only taking orders. So far I am pleased and impressed. This replaces my 2019 Prius AWD, which was my favorite car ever in 48 years of car ownership. I hope the Cross Hybrid will be able to fill its shoes.
best style of car review i've seen
14:00 Definitely agree, AMD. That fit is not to Toyota Standards. It’s what most shoppers see, so they’ll think it’s cheap. Sales won’t be as good as they could be.
Love your passion for the trade and knowledge mate.
I will buy nothing but Toyota and your reviews are the best for thorough and honest information....thank you so so much bro!!
Honda and Mazda are nice
Lexus is good
The difference between others and Toyota is profound and measurable in every aspect of value. Their history is of continued growth towards perfection and is why they are not concerned with being the first to bring to market the tech but rather value. @@luxurybuzz3681

I had a Corolla Cross as a loaner after my GR Corolla was delivered with the wrong shift knob and I thought it was a very nice car for the price. Good space, nice ride height, comfy, great mpgs, and like all toyotas very easy to drive especially with their current lane centering and adaptive cc. And yep i too have always thought the rear end looked like the 1st gen sienna 😂
Thanks for the review. Excellent as always.
I've had my 2023 Hybrid SE for a couple months now and 6,600 miles, and I track every fill-up -- thus far lifetime is 51.7 MPG but I do try to drive smoothly, so more abrupt stops and starts will obviously knock down the MPGs. I changed the oil at 3,700 miles and it still looked new, will change after another 6,300 and see how that looks, but will probably then change every 5k as the CCN recommends. Thanks to CCN for the thorough review!
As always Ahmed, you are clear, concise, and honest. God Bless you beloved brother, and thank you for this review. This may be something to look into for us.
Thanks for - as usual - a good and honest review, both the good and the bad. I'm going to wait a year or two (and hope they improve the fit and finish and any other bugs) but this may very well be my next vehicle. But not in that color. I really wish Toyota had kept the green color for the hybrid.
I've just purchased 2nd Gen, I love it.
Thanks for your honest review appreciate your details, I will be getting my XSE Barcelona red in two weeks.
Excellent review ... as usual.
Pretty sure the high voltage cable is in the spare tire area to avoid the Rav4 cable gate scenario where the cable gets corroded and fails from exposure to salt water.
I love your videos, keep up the great work !
I have that Safe Exit warning in my 23 Corolla Hybrid LE. Works very well.
Great video as always. Car Care Nut, do you think the rear motor cable could be routed around the side of the trunk so that a spare tire could be accommodated in the spare tire well?
Question ???
Any hack, to fit a full size tire in the trunk with that high voltage cables in the way ???
Thanks for the awesome reviews.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
Touch and go body qc would be no go in Toyota’s Toyota city plants. Which is why I chose to order a “J” vin Corolla hybrid this year. Between my old fj’s (and now 4Runners) built at the hino truck factory and my 2021 tundra built in Texas; there is a world of difference when the line employee takes pride in their work. Thanks for the great review!
It was helpful and informative thank you. And yes, I learned somthing new too 😀
Your reviews are the best the internet has on offer, but why? Because they are balanced, impartial and honest.
👏👏👏👏
About a color of that car, I really like it and wish to buy exactly that color. It is very good matched with black and it’s very noticeable on the road.
Love you my Man very knowledgeable on Toyota and it's computation vehicles
Thank you for pricing most people out of Rav4 and then introducing Corolla Cross as a substitute so that I can finally buy a Mazda CX5
Car Nut Guy, I enjoy your videos. Two things I wish reviewers would mention are, (1) how easy it is to enter an exit the car for people that may have some physical limitations. Does one have to fall into the seats and crawl out? and, (2) car companies are doing away with spare tires. (Not Good!) If a car doesn't have a spare tire, do they have run flat tires? I don't want to get stuck on the freeway and have to wait for help. Too many bad guys out there looking for a quick rob and run victim. Thanks. (What is your opinion of run flat tires?)
I’ve had my 2024 Corolla Cross hybrid for about two weeks now. I got the XSE trim and there’s a lot I like about it. At first I wasn’t happy with how noisy the CVT was and I thought it felt really underpowered in Eco mode. However after I made the switch to using ethanol, free gas, it just seem to run a lot smoother with less noise and better MPG.
How do I get ethanol free gas? I just got my car today sorry if I sound naive.
I watched one of his videos about the difference btw eco/normal and power modes. I had been driving in eco mode and wasn't impressed with the mileage. After watching the video, I switched to normal mode and my mileage jumped! I do mostly around town driving - shorter trips (3-10 miles) at lower speeds (40mph or less).
@@TheAbhijeetrai he likely meant "ethanol-free gas"
Excllence.
Thank you!
I have been driving the hybrid se since August- 8000kms.
Wonderful, comfortable, practical- and mind-blowing fuel efficiency. I average 4.5l/100k on my rural commute: 5.5 at 110-120km/hr on the highway; and less than 4 in city traffic.
This car replaces my Prius C- that I drove for over 10 years and 290,000 kms- the fuel economy is near identical to that tiny thing!
I agree on the frustration re the lack of LE trim! Trim to trim the Corolla cross is still less expensive, but the SE trim pushes its price close to a RAV4 LE hybrid! Very frustrating. I would have much preferred the lower price of an LE trim.
Regardless- thrilled with this vehicle.
Excellent video!
I like the looks of it.. and that color. Agree about the piano key vs matte black inconsistency.
Great video…
We bought two of those last year. They’re not bad.
What an endorsement!
What about back seat space? Can it accommodate 3 adults for long journey?
No!@@saeedkhan91111
I'd like to get a new Toyota sometime in the next few years, but 1. My 2004 Camry is still going strong and 2. I'm still waiting for supply to improve
Great review can’t wait for mine to

Just discovered your channel and this was awesome. Hope we get to have a video review like this of the new Dacia Duster 2024. Would love to see it with your indepth perspective.
I almost bought a Corolla Cross Hybrid. The main reason I did not buy it was because it could not carry a spare tire. I live in Raleigh NC. There is building going on everywhere. One of my cars get a flat every year or two. The thought of having to have my car towed because I got a flat is not acceptable to me. My wife's RAV 4 Hybrid has a spare. I ended up getting a Crosstrek. Yes it it does not get the mileage but is rides and drives a lot better.
You could, you know, just throw that stupid styrofoam block away and put an aftermarket spare in there, if you really wanted to.
Most auto companies have been very sensative. For the last two decades. OH You Drove The Jeep Off Road. And The Vehicles Electrical System Shorted Out. YOU JUST VOIDED THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WARRENTY ON YOUR OFF ROAD VEHICLE.Toyota: The Very Exact Same Thing. For Removing The Styrofoam Insert.
Our model has the gauges you wished for, but unfortunately that means a gigantic basically useless tachometer forcing everything else to be too small. ) : Also beware of putting too much weight in the rear storage area. 100 pounds was enough to make the steering funky at speeds over 60mph.
I’m thinking of buying a last generation Toyota Corolla Hybrid this December. Based off my research, the Invoice is about 93% of the MSRP, there is a $450 dealer holdback, about a 100% margin on added accessories, and end of year dealer incentives. If I can get a really good price I’ll be happy and if we can’t make a deal I’ll be happy waiting for the next generation hybrid Civic and the 5th Gen hybrid system in the Corolla.
Can't wait to hear your review on the 1958.
I considered a cross gas model when i was driving 130 miles a day for work. They weren't really easy to get to test drive as I'd have to order one prior to seeing it, at the time. I stuck with trading my tacoma and xB in for a rav4. I have no regrets. I love my rav4. I still respect the cross, even after the review. I find the cross hybrid interesting. I think it has use in the market. Its cute.
I got 50mpg into work today over 40 mile commute mostly highway. Great commuter and city car.
It says 45city/38 high way! How can u get 50mpg on highway? Is this real? I really want to get this car. Debating between this one or Prius. I was attracted to Prius cuz it is rated 56mpg on high way. Does this mean prius can potentially get 60-70mpg on freeway???
My 2022 Corolla-cross, gas version, gets 6.3 L/100km average. That's way better than the EPA rating. Last night, I got 5.2 L/100km on a 90km highway trip vs. 7.0 L/100km EPA rating. I don't really understand why, but I can't complain about it 😂
Always Great Content ! thanks for your Expertise : )
Learn alot from this guy. Much appreciated!
I am not a mechanic and I've never done my own servicing (keeping the service techs employed)! Hearing you say that what's under the hood is why we are about to get our 2nd Toyota vehicle (got a 2023 Camry XLE AWD last Spring). This is the crossover that I will probably end up getting next year, but in red or blue, as I'm getting frustrated with my Hyundai Kona and don't think I'll get another one UNLESS I get a super deal from them (or Toyota dealers play "MSRP Markups" with me). Thanks for another great review!! Hopefully, the fit and finish improves next year in time for my purchase (they DO make these in Kentucky, right?).
The Corolla cross is made in Alabama along with the Mazda CX 50
@@eleanormassaro5195 Thank you! It's funny how the Japanese autos are made in the South, while most "American" cars are made in Mexico...
Rented a gas and a hybrid version Corolla Cross back to back. The hybrid is louder than the gas, especially at high speeds and on inclines. The extra noise comes directly from the hybrid engine.
Agreed. The cross hybrid engine at times in noisy.
Excellent video for my buying decision. Well deserved liked!
Great video and great owners comments!
Just purchased the 2024 Corolla Cross HSE hybrid. Purchased this car for my elderly parents. All was great, until the bitter realization that the front passenger’s seat lacks the ability to adjust the seat height. To make matters worse, the passenger seat height is very low. My elderly mother is now dealing with back pain sitting and I’ve only had the car for less than a week. Its mind blowing a front passenger seat would lack the ability to adjust its height, it could have at least been equipped with a jack up peddle.
Amazon sells comfortable seat cushions that can help.
My state has a no questions asked automobile return policy. The dealer will pretend they've never heard of it.
I do not always comment on every one of your videos.
But when the comes to cars, your videos are the best. And I like it that you feature other cars , other than in Toyota.

Great review, Ahmed! As always!
One suggestion - Please do a review of the Honda Civic e:hev hybrid model. In my opinion it makes the Toyota hybrids look archaic. I am interested to hear your thoughts on that model.
I've had my CCH XSE for a little over two months now and just hit 1,000 miles. I was lucky in that my car doesn't seem to have as many fit/finish issues as others do. I agree that the badging is ridiculously excessive, but it's really the perfect size for me (single, no kids) and drives really nicely. I wish that my MPG was higher (so far averaging about 37-38) and if Toyota releases a PHEV of this in 10 years, I'll be all over it.
Thanks for providing the essential mpg figures.
Looking at this vehicle too, as I currently drive a 2022 Kona. The new 2024 Kona is "high tech" on the inside, but with no engine upgrade, 29 mpg is a sad sack compared with upper 30's+ for the CCH.
My getting 41.8 manual calculation. Per dashboard 46mph
@@Steve_in_NJ Are you getting the Hybrid Kona ? Any of these cars should try and beat cars like my ten year old VW Golf which did 40MPG (US) no problem, When I test drove an old Kia Niro Hybrid I did better than that without trying.
Mpg, you mean.@@netgarnet4337
No spare tire is a no deal for me. I know more cars are coming out without them. But in my experience, its essential. Theres nothing worse then getting a flat in a state that doesnt have readily available tow companies and you have to leave your car overnight on the highway at risk for an accident or theft. Not to mention paying for an emergency hotel stay. Never again.
Thought AAA worked in all states?
It doesn't matter whether the driver can change the tire or not. Roadside assistance, or just a passerby, can change it for you. With today's proliferation of tire sizes, you could be waiting several days for a replacement.
I think the issue isn't access to AAA but access to roadside assistance. Some places are so out of the way that getting help can take hours.
@aden3113 I have it/works for me. No spare in my '19 Prius, but all my OTHER Toyotas HAD a spare AND I NEVER USED THEM. I have what Toyota gives us, but I have my own plug patch/inflator. I will NEVER use green slime.
I have a donut spare. If i get a flat in remote areas, i can quickly remove the tire and replace with the spare in 20 minutes or less and be on my way. Waiting for asistance can take hours.
I was just watching all your videos as I’m shopping for a cross
I like his videos. Well explain how system works.Big fan toyota.Love the video. Cheers
When he says...thats ok....its really not ok😂
Do you have a video on how to change the oil on the rear differential on a hybrid model? Thanks
We have a '17 Rav4. One thing that consistently annoys me is the reflective dash that casts a lot of glare into the eyes when the sun is overhead or driving toward the sun. The infotainment screen does the same thing, though it looks like they fixed that after '17. Something to add to your checklist maybe.
Excellent video, very details regarding Toyota latest Hybrid Technology and lots of informative informations.
Thank you so much Sir for sharing this video with us.
As always, spot on excellent.
Very much appreciate these reviews! Are customers allowing you to borrow their vehicles or dealerships for these reviews?
I think most new vehicles (if not all) are sent directly from the manufacturer, you can see when he shows the tailgate it has "manufacturer" license plates
I've had my Cross S for 2 weeks now. I am amazed by how big the car is, yet has no storage space. I had a 2010 Prius (which I loved and miss) so am comparing what I had in the Prius to what I currently have in the Cross. On the cross, they put the battery in where the spare tire should be, so you lost all that storage room, and don't have a spare tire. (the prius had the spare, then a nice storage bin on top and then a nice cover). There's a weird bin (?) area (about the size of a shoe box) on the left side of the cargo area which doesn't get covered by the cargo mat, not sure what can be stored there since it's an odd shape. There's only a small area in the front between the seats - this could have been made into a nice armrest/storage bin. There's only a small glove box (not the 2 like in the Prius). He is absolutely right about the backseat area being tiny. I don't have passengers, so it's not much of a concern for me. Lastly it doesn't come standard with a retractable cover for the back storage area. On the plus side, it does ride and handle nice.
Actually the hybrid battery is under the back seat. The high voltage cables are placed where the spare should be.
Not sure about the lithium ion battery, I liked the fact that Toyota hybrids mostly used nickel metal hydride batteries that are not as efficient but extremely durable and safe?
I now own a 2019 Prius. Maybe you will grow into it. I owned a used 97 Camry 265,000 miles & it rotted out or I'd STILL have it. But, I too, love my Prius. If I bought a new vehicle today, it would BE a CCH. 👍
I'm not liking the little room you have for the passengers in the back seat.
Young children only.
Not really, rear passengr rooms depends on drivers and front passenger size and allocating room for the rear. I am 5'6 and rear has good space when i test drove the gas model. Dont be fooled by video reviews as the front seats are pushed all the way back which is unrealistic. Does every car owner do this, hogging all the front leg space.
The 12v battery in the back 7:35 is OK. Last one I had there lasted 9 years, probably due to less vibration and heat. So where in the back is it please? I agree about the spare being displaced by that wiring box. Maybe in future they will find a better place for it. Your videos are well done.
I think you miss 1 thing on this car is "there have no sunglass holder on this one". I realize it after too late. Also the under the car to soo widely open that the road noise will make a little lound inside the cabin . This car is very good with black color because all the accessory is in black and it match well with the trim flare and front bumper. The most value/price you get is from SE model because the remote starter is pre-included (3 year trial with app + vehicule locator) in the car. SE you still have engine RPM + Speedometer dial. the badging is good if you want to buy the car used. it will confirm if the part is original or after market.
$30k on a base Hybrid Model? This is insane how prices went up
Yeah paired with interest people are paying living rent on cars now. Sad
CCs are more supply constrained now than even the RAV4; at this point, the RAV4 Hybrid has better supply and can be had with discounts, while some dealers will still mark up CCHs
@@trdrav4 I got mine under MSRP a couple weeks ago. Shop around and don't pay markups. Inventory is loosening up.
Actually, I think it's almost an insane bargain, despite the first new car I ever bought (79 Corolla) having only cost me $4400. The average new car sold today is hovering just under $50K, and most have terrible drive trains and terrible mpg compared to this.
When I bought a 2001 Prius in 2000, I paid MSRP of $22,400 or so, and it didn't even have cruise control. Saying that $30K is expensive for any Toyota hybrid 22 years later, with the much higher level of tech now, I think is a bit ridiculous.
Also, last time I checked, the $27,870 shown at 28:29 in this video, does not round off to $30K, it rounds off to $28K. Then figure out how much gas it will save you over the course of even just the first 150K miles, and subtract that off the price.

I am about 3 months in to my 23 CCH SE, coming from the 22CC LE. I was happier with the fit and finish of my LE than with my SE. The most noticeable to me is that my trunk is slightly more left aligned… something I’ve debated asking the dealership to address, but will probably let it go.
Fit/finish aside however, I wouldn’t go back to the slow LE. I missed having my 18 Rav4 Hybrid and was happy to get back in a Hybrid.
I am usually a little lead footed and on longer trips I get 36-38 mpg. But whenever I’m in town and not in a hurry, I get in the mid-50s. Got a record high for me of 65 one time.
My biggest issue with the CC and CCHybrid is the small fuel tank, 10.2 or 10.3 gallons goes kinda quick. The hybrid added about 10 miles to the gallon so instead of gassing up every 250 miles I usually can go about 350 without being too stressed about distance.
I made sure to heed your suggestion with any new car purchase, had the oil changed at 1k, and coming up on 5k by the end of this week.
As always, @CarCareNut you inform us of so much and we appreciate you! Wishing you and your family a happy holiday season!
