      It's just that Apple (in my mind) is the most anti-fun, anti-custimization, anti-unofficial software company I've ever seen.
      If there is a hint of "people can do something unintended with this?!" my natural suspicion is that they'll quash it.

    I bought the same adapter and it worked fine with my PS5. Few tweaks I need to make. 1st resolution output to 720p 60 fps. I tried 1080p 60 fps, but there were screen tearing and also the frame rate looks like 30 fps. Maybe a better converter will do the job. It is overall a success. If someday a good adapter comes at a cheaper price with full utilization of ipad Pro screen then it will just destroy any other sceeen.

      After I read this, I went back and fiddled with settings in the app. Changing resolution gave me wonky looking characters in Diablo 2 Resurrected (they looked too tall and too thin) but simply setting the FPS down to 30 took care of the tearing I was experiencing. Probably wouldn't be a good solution if you wanted to pay an FPS game but for Diablo, it's working fine. I can now play my PS 5 using my 2018 (pre-M series) 12.9 inch iPad Pro. Whoopeeee!!!

One of my biggest issues with screen sharing from my mac to my iPad as a external monitor is that the audio is only routed to my mac or speakers. This fixed that big issue. The Nintendo Switch dock is basically just an oversized usb hub. You can use a smaller one to play and I do this all the time. My regular 100w power adapter works, but my other adapters do not.
    I wonder if the Switch could run without power from the wall. I think docked mode requires power and Nintendo was really weird with their USB-C charging.
    So a Nintendo Switch dock enabled power bank or something would be needed?
    Also wonder if I could use this capture device with a dock. Enabling me to charge the iPad while playing. Ofc the insanely priced Magic Keyboard could help.
    Anyways with third party app stores enabling emulators for everyone with European device (without paying for developer), the iPad will be great for gaming.
    I think the next step for the EU would be to eliminate console exclusive games. I believe the 30% cut is much of the reason this is not done already. Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox could all make their own game stores. Exclusive games just creates e-waste by forcing you to buy devices you don’t need.
    Ofc they want to keep their console subscriptions for accessing online services, but I don’t even count this as it should have been illegal since the start

    I acquired a low latency 4k to 1080 capture card, but I’m not particularly satisfied with the latency. It’s only slightly better than streaming from the app with a perfect connection. The capture card I got is an HDMI to USB-A converter, which came with an A to C adapter. I’m curious if this setup might be causing the latency. Despite this, the capture card is considerably better than the app, where high-speed internet is needed for both the mobile device and home network, resulting in noticeable delay. When using an iPad, there’s no need for internet, and while there’s still some delay, it’s manageable. It’s not suitable for fast-paced FPS games, but games like GTA and Madden are playable with some adjustment. I’m considering trying a capture card with HDMI straight to C in the future, hoping it might eliminate the latency issue. If anyone has experience with this, please share!

      it works with windows but for the capture card i got the latency is horrible and even worse if you try to do 1080p instead of 720p

    What's the max framerate you can get with this setup 120hz or 60hz

    • @ProtectusCZ
      @ProtectusCZ ปีที่แล้ว

      60hz but a lot of USB capture cards are limited to 30hz.

    Where can I get the capture pro app the link only takes me to test flight?

    This would be great to use as a capture setup at gaming events as well. Can you do game/party chat directly from the iPad or through buds/headphones connected to the iPad or would I need to connect a mic to the capture card or controller?

    Will the app stay forever or can Apple remove it- cuz I feel like they won’t like this- and I hope I can just keep it

    Did you get 60 fps?

  • @JC-xx5dm
    @JC-xx5dm ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Tried this with a 4090 PC. Bought the capture card linked in this video. The image quality and frame interpolation were horrible. 60fps felt like 30fps. I messed with the settings unless there is something Im missing. Used the Capture One beta. Sunshine streaming games is leagues better than this wired connection.

    You need a hdmi to usb-c capture card, right? Not just any hdmi to usb-c adapter, correct?
