Have been using this with my Macbook using OBS and I knew I could do this with iPad too but it was really missing a software. Glad we finally have an app for it. Will test this out as I already have HDMI dongle

I’ve used this for setting up a Raspberry Pi, and for manual focus on a DSLR.
What kind of capture card brand are you using if you don't mind sharing. I'm actually looking high quality capture card to connect Raspberry Pi too.
Seems rad. would love to use this to have my ipad as an external edit display. Given the workflow, seems like it should work!
Just a quick note, you have to use the power adapter that came with the console or you’ll get an error message saying “use AC power adapter that came with console” only sharing cause it happened with me when I was trying to connect my switch. Other than that everything else in this video is legit and helpful
yeah switch only supports docked mode with external power

This is great. I am sure someone like small rig will come out with an iPad case that has a capture card built in and then use this as a camera monitor. Just like the seemo thing

The iOS app, Genki Studio works perfect with my Genki ShadowCast Capture Card and Genki Covert Dock Mini. Now I can play my Switch on my iPad Pro M2, paired with my Apple Magic Keyboard.
Followed your instructions and works perfect.
Pretty cool to use the mini-led on switch games (speaking of the regular switch, not the oled).

I don’t think so. They added support for this because of external cameras and webcams so they basically are encouraging it to be used as a monitor

@@Cyrus_got_verified in order for Nintendo to block this they would have to block video out and that makes the dock pointless. Apple and Nintendo do weird things but neither of them care what monitor you use

Thanks for the review. There is slight latency when I plug my ps5 or pc to an ipad pro. But it gets worse on 1st shooters.

xScreen got me covered for Xbox but this will be great for PS5 on the go.

Take a photo before you start so you can return everything back to how it was and they will never know.

Hi there! I really appreciate this. However, my iPad has a lightning port. I want to connect my switch so I’m using an adapter that fits, but how do I get the app? I can't seem to find it and when I try to get the beta app it asks me for a code? I don't know what's going on so if you know I'm really curious why this is happening. Sony actually has an app for the PS4/PS5 that lets you stream and play your games anywhere via the Internet to your iPad, iPhone, PC, etc. However it can be laggy.
Watched 20+ of these exact same videos...all say the same thing...NONE tell you that Capture Pro is no longer available , due to all beta tester slots being taken. :-(
I found an app called HDMI Monitor - Orion which works the same way and isn't a silly beta. Give that a try.

Tried using this set up with the same dongle from amazon and a usb-c to hdmi cable as well with my switch and just getting color lines as output on my iPad. Any advice? I am on IPadOS 17 and using the new app from the developer
This dongle does that when the signal comes on or goes off. If you simply unplug the hdmi cable and plug it back into the dongle it’s fixed. (At least my unit which has the same issue)
What is the response time like?
I've been looking for a way to play horror games without having my wife and my 4 year old appearing all of the sudden on the living room just in time for the worst scenes lol.
The thing is I play mostly on ps5, perhaps I could get a wireless hdmi to hdmi and then run that through the capture device into the ipad, but that sounds like a lot of input lag for bloodborne or RE8.
Does anyone know if absolutely need a capture card or can we get by with an cord that has HDMI on one end and USB-C on the other? Thank you in advance!
Should be able to do this w/out a dongle. Works just fine on my iPad Pro

Not sure I'd use ethis on the PS5 or Xbox, as I wouldn't travel with those. I would however use this on the Switch when on the road.

Yes! capture cards cause some latency, I don't think higher ends Change much, if anything
How many fps do you get on iPad? I only get 30 fps on my Lenovo Tab P11 Pro 2020.
Madden, Rainbow 6 (etc) games that split seconds make all the difference are a no go then? Capture Pro requires Test Flight invitation code

You are not explaining the app part very well. TestFlight ok, got it but what about the part where we have to receive an invitation from a developer ? The app is asking for a code to continue, which one ?
For android most usb camera apps work.
This is great! I’m on vacation at a beach house right now. There’s only a couple TVs and neither are in my room. I HATE using the Switch baby screen. Can’t see anything. Got my iPad Pro downloading IOS 17 right now!

Hi, Does anyone know another app cuz i downloaded testflight but i basically skipped all the information and accepted but it seems that i had to put my email in to get a code to start testing. It wont reset even if i delete the app and download it again can someone help?
