Thank you so much for this video! A couple of things I wanted to add in case anyone wants to try my setup: -I'm using a Mac Mini -Connected via HDMI to a HDMI to USB dongle -Connected dongle to USB-C hub (powered) -The video comes through clearly -The audio/mic section of Camo Studio has a toggle for "Pass through speakers" and if you check that, the audio comes through!!
Remember: - The iPad has a built-in battery, making it a great way to have a portable monitor, as it only needs a tether connection. - It's tethered to your iPad using a USB-C display signal, so the latency is much better than Wi-Fi. - The iPad Pro display has a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Hello So I did everything as shown but when I want to select the device option on the app I get that there are none (it can’t find the adapter) even though I connected it to my iPad Any solutions?
This will be great for when I travel since I have the regular switch and the screen is too tiny for my liking. And I’m not in the market yet for the OLED version
I have tried so many times on my ipad mini with my video capture card but my nintendo switch keeps coming up with a error i have ios17 and everything what am i doing wrong
The hdmi to c didn’t work with the charger just shows a blank screen I was looking at the description is it because the hdmi is input and usbc is output idk if I’m reading it right because in the pictures it’s showing it used the other way around idk
Thanks for sharing returns it and exchange for the non charging one. Apologies, there were a few amazon reviews saying it works but I personally don’t own that one just the one in the video. But I’ll take your feedback and warn everyone else.
What iPad are you using because for some reason some iPad with usb c are having problems. My partner iPad Pro non M1 isn’t working too. But it should, I think there’s a software update coming soon to fix it. I’m going to make a video about this.theres also missing features on the Apple Watch. Some people have been saying in 2 weeks we should see a fix in an update.
After looking into this more Apple needs to support UVC (USB Video Class) on the iPhone 15. They just added it to iPad in IOS17 but for some crazy reason not to the iPhone 15.@@need_dopamine2658
Question: how can this app be used and still keep the iPads battery charged? I bought the capture card Orion recommended and it works great, however once the iPad battery died, I was like oh yeah…. What about a card that also provides charging while being used. What’s everyone’s opinion on that?
Be careful not to get a USB-C to HDMI cable. Sounds like the same thing but it isn't. You need a HDMI to USBC Capture card. Also beware of the latency.
You keep saying “portable” but yet it’s attached to a HDMI to the console. How is that portable? Is there something i missed that makes it technically “portable”? Xbox cloud gaming is the only true console portable gaming i know of that you can play with iPad.
An iPad is portable. you’re just not the target audience for this. For example, if you were a college student moving dorms, taking this and a regular-sized console is easier than a full-size TV, and you don’t need to pay for fast internet for cloud gaming. Plus a gaming monitor is much more expensive when a iPad modern iPad is known to look better.
@@ditu555 i don’t know for you but I think my usb c male to hdmi female is only able to project my iPad on a screen and unable to capture from a console and put it in the iPad. I don’t know if I am correct but to me certain cables only work in one way…

That seems like a lot of latency though. Cool idea, but at this point I’d buy a portable monitor for $80 to have true hdmi input without exception
Doesn’t work can’t select capture card
Try Orion
I wish there was a video about this but without capture card 😢
Can you connect a usb mic so you can record audio while gaming?
whats the latency rate
Wish any manufacture makes a cable that solves that wacky setup. Usb c to usb c all in one cable solution
The app does support audio pass though!!!
Can we use lightning to usb c dongle for iPad with lightning cable
Hello
So I did everything as shown but when I want to select the device option on the app I get that there are none (it can’t find the adapter) even though I connected it to my iPad
Any solutions?
Bro pls reply.. how much is the latency. And will the latency reduce if we buy a better capture card .
I thought I showed it in the video at 3:41. I pull the trigger on some gameplay. It was less than a second delay.

this is pretty neat because i can get a hdmi splitter and i can connect My xbox or switch to a tv and an ipad and stream and record from the same Ipad
Any help please? This doesn't work with my iPad. Its an Air 4th gen and should be compatible so I dont know why it doesn't work.
Probably the type of usbc adapter you use for example elgatos don't work but ugreen
@@mackyj7801 I tried 2 different ones. They work for hdmi output but not for input so I’m confused.

Or I’ll share if I find one
I wanna use this as a portable monitor for my steam deck
Why can’t I change the device to external? It only lets you choose none when it’s on the external video source
I have the same issue. My two capture cards won’t show up. Just says none.
This won't work with a camera dongle of a lightning cable???
Can you Stream Straight From I Pad Or Do I Need pc Monitor?
can you use it with newer iphones 15 ?
Easiest set up ever, thanks for this video! It was really helpful ❤
direct usb c to usv does not work?
Hi, thank you for your video. What cord would I need for two devices that have type usb? I’d like to use this on my Steam Deck for 3DS games.
mine does not show ton for capture card. what shoud I do? thank u
Could this be used by hooking up an hdmi from my camera straight to my iPad and live-streaming that feed?
yep
Mine isn’t connecting and idk why. I’m doing everything I’m supposed to
Can I do this on ipad Air 4..? It has A14 bionic..!
Does it have lag?
Hey, i just put everything in but still doesn‘t work… you know what i have to fix ?

Every capture card should work or is there something like a special capture card for this ?
Is the setup good for 120fps gaming at 1080p
Absolutely not
Can u charge the ipad at the same time?
No
can this be done in the ipad 2018? that one also supports the hdmi port.
If it has usb like the iPad pro 2018
Does this work if we use a usb c to usb c cable (using the iPad as an external display for the Rog Ally) ??
So long as it’s a capture card.
No you will need a capture card in between.
Hi, great video and I appreciate the upload but would you be able to find and compare similar apps?
Not yet, I haven’t seen another one yet. I’m still waiting on capture pro because they said to include audio pass though
The audio worked for me
Anyone know an app alternative for iphone 15 with usbc?
still looking for the same thing. I've found this and one other app but they are both ipad only.

You can’t use this on the iPhone 15 because it doesn’t support the USB input video codec.
Why is it not working on my ipad pro 2020
It may not have IOS 17
Did you download the app also?
Same. It comes up as usb 3.0 video instead of capture card and has black screen
is this still working.¿ i have ipad air 5 ios 17.4 but not working
How is the latency?
i tried Orion (app), there is little to no latency. tried on laptop, i notice abit more latency, but here, its way better

Get a hub, perhaps. So you can connect both the card and charge simultaneously.
Plug on the magic keyboard, if you dont have one get a hub
Will it work with iPad 10th gen
It should, if you can get it to work with A usb webcam it will work .
I have a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 will it work?
As long as it has a usb c port, yes, it will work
There is audio pass through.
Hi I tried and all I got was the test pattern then blank and the test pattern again. iPad Pro connected to ps5. Don’t know what I am doing wrong.
Did you use a video capture card?
Be careful not to get a USB-C to HDMI cable. Sounds like the same thing but it isn't. You need a HDMI to USBC Capture card. Also beware of the latency.
I can select nothing on the device section?
Do we have to use the capture thing?

You are welcome
What about the audio
There’s no capture card…. how….
Not worth it cos of the high input lag
What about steam deck
If it’s HDMI yes
This is so awesome, thank you!
Wow I'm dream whit this
Why s?
This doesn’t really help me because I still have a lightning port on my iPad
Just buy a portable monitor they are super cheap
Why when you already own a iPad? I doubt you can find a good monitor for 30$
