  • Howdy Everyone! I've decided to re-upload this video and separate the harness refresh and the headlight upgrade into two videos as it was a bit too long together.
In this video I'm taking a look at the wiring harness for the Triumph Daytona T595 restoration project we're doing. Overall the harness was in good condition, except for the exterior, but a good cleaning, few fixes here-and-there and it's back to being better than new! The bike will sure be good to have stable electronics for long and reliable operation.
In the coming videos we'll be assembling the rear end, and start looking into the engine. In the meantime I'll be posting some videos also for Earthling, the BMW R80 Roadster I'm building. A big one being a fork swap for a KTM fork. But I'll also be making a video for building the entire custom electrical wiring harness for the bike too. Make sure to check back or subscribe if you don't want to miss the uploads.

    - I actually found out during the rebuild that the shared wiring diagram isn't correct, as in my case for the Daytona, in the original wiring the starter cut-off relay is cutting off power to the physical light switch, which I ended up keeping, as it will basically just shut off the headlight relay signal in my configuration, so I also don't have to rely on the cut-off relay to provide the stable ground.

Wiring diagram: Often times these can be found in the 'workshop manual' of your bike. If it's not in there, you can sometimes find them free on the internet with a simple search, otherwise it's most likely available for purchase on sites like eBay. Watch out to only buy from authorized dealers.

I reuploaded the video without the headlight circuit upgrade part, that's up separately as well, you can find it here: th-cam.com/video/LHBJTqCwsPM/w-d-xo.html

I noticed you said check all ground points. Does your t595 harness have a ground blue or white block?

I'm having a no start issue and my horn and indicators are not working. I'm searching for all ground points.

You can use a seam ripper (gently) when dismantling the harness. Instead of wrapping th entire harness, I typically use open, self-closing Techflex sleeves. The harness seems to be more flexible this way.

Thanks for your comment! That’s good advice! Makes sense if it’s not sticking to the wires everywhere it makes it more flexible. 👌🏻

Hi . Creat info i have a cb750/4 k5 and hd to replace left hand controls. The new 1 has diffrent coloured and smaller guage wire and connectors. Is changing connectors save with the diff guage wire or try and rewire hand control all opinions are welcome .
