    How is this channel not way bigger? Some of the best electric/ battery / EV / diy content on das tube.
    Just keep doing what your doing and with time you will grow. I do this same stuff daily and sometimes wish I took the time to record everything, but I can’t imagine how much time it takes to film, edit and manage everything. I admire all the content creators that are putting out good content like this. Much respect

      that's exactly why this channel isn't bigger - because it takes sooo much more time and effort to record everything, much less organize and edit everything. I'm working on a project right now and did record most of it.. gonna get what footage I can to cobble together a video. I keep telling myself to actually try a bit more to grow this channel but then again I just want to build cool stuff. Thanks so much for the support and encouragement!

    Hey buddy you did a great job you really know you stuff when it comes to the electrical wiring. I would love to build a bike like that but I don’t have the electrical knowledge or skills like you do. I really love watching your videos. You really explain things very well and have show things really well. You really make it look easy but I would be so lost trying to do something like that . I don’t have the electrical knowledge like you do. That’s why I love watching your videos. Very nice job an the fabrication on the tail lights and turn signals. I can’t wait to see the video of what it looks like when it done. I’m sure it’s going to look so awesome great job agin. Thanks so much for a awesome video buddy.

    Great walk through! This is very helpful. Working on adding lights to a Ktm xcf conversion.
    I may have missed it, but do you have links to the switches you used for the headlight (hi beam low beam, signals and horn)?
    What 12v converter are you using?
    Great video and explanation.

    Great channel! Not clear how did you connect the high brake (HB).. Did you attach +12 V to one of the low brake wire(black or green) and the white one(which goes to controller's HB) to the other low brake wire? So, once you press the lever, it sends +12 V to contoller's HB grey?

    • @GaiusGarage
      @GaiusGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the low brake wires takes a ground/0V signal which I am not using. I just wired a +12V signal in parallel with the front and foot brake and splitting that same +12V line to the brake light and hi-brake on the controller. I have the schematic in the description as well

      @@GaiusGarage got it, thanks! thought you used low brake too. But now it’s clear. Thanks again! Good luck on your projects. Waiting for the new video!

    The actual start button could be used if a latching relay was used.

    hey man thank you for your content, I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into this. Im watching your videos because Im building an electric go kart myself. Couple of questions though. Are you connecting the bike frame to your ground? Like regular vehicles do. And I think the schematic attached to this video has the contactor wired in the wrong position. Thank you and much respect

    • @GaiusGarage
      @GaiusGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, not connecting ground to the frame. Car manufacturers do this for the 12V system to save money on running wires back & forth but they also do it for a 12V system. If you're using a common ground on your go cart and ground to the frame, you would be grounding high-voltage as well which is pretty dangerous in terms of getting shocked but also arching. If you have an isolated 12V ground I think it should be fine. Why do you say the contactor is in the wrong position? It's wired across a switch on one of the 12V lines. That's for the contol circuit.

    • @2liters
      @2liters ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GaiusGarage thank you for the quick answer. Yeah it makes sense I was planning on just grounding the 12V to the frame, but I don't think is necessary for now. Regarding the contactor... If it closes and the other switch that is connected in series also closes that would be a short circuit. Shouldn't the coil be connected to the 12v circuit? In your power schematic you show the 12v circuit connected to the coil. I might be missing something though

    • @GaiusGarage
      @GaiusGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      ok I see what you mean. you are right, the schematic is shown incorrectly. just an error on the schematic, I meant to show the 12V connected to the control coil. the high-voltage positive line runs across the switch

    If you put the metal part in the crumpet then give it a click or two it’ll hold it in place while you put the wire in place.

    • @GaiusGarage
      @GaiusGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, but I found that its difficult to see where exactly the wire is sitting between the insulation and exposed copper. but I agree if it's stripped to the right length it will be in the correct position so this is a good method too

    • @bj97301
      @bj97301 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GaiusGarage yep I just use my stripper to get it to the right length then look at the other side to see the copper poking through. Works well for me.

    Great video can you go into programming the controller

    • @GaiusGarage
      @GaiusGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was going to but the app for this controller really sucks - tons of bugs that wont allow you to change certain values and support is never helpful

      @@GaiusGarage Tell me about it. I'm having so much trouble adjusting the correct speed on my display. I think I need a firmware update for my controller. I'm waiting for saiecosys to get back to me. Great controller, horrible app with no instructions as to what a lot of the settings do.

    • @GaiusGarage
      @GaiusGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@toriwatson9655 I have the PDF document detailing all the settings - but it's in terribly translated English with plenty of vague explanations. the biggest problem is that you can't change all the settings in the app due to bugs. hit me up on Instagram @gaiusgarage if you want me to send you the document. for the speed calibration, there's a setting I found where you just set it to some number 1-10 and one of them more or less calibrates the display to show the true speed (I just matched it using a GPS app) but I guess it depends on the protocol the display uses. if you're running the signal to the display on the digital wire from the controller harness it should work.
