Audio is right this time lol.. okay video? Bad video? This is a test.
Fine as frog hair... Wondered what was the deal. Thanks for the upload, and thanks for the fix!
@@The_DuMont_Network I’m not sure what happened with the Audio, I have never seen that before but this was just a test video on a subject that’s been asked recently. Pretty amazing how this was made.. I’ll elaborate in a video tomorrow.
That’s pretty fine! 🤣🤣
Hope y’all are doing well Railroad family. I’m fairly new to the railroad union community. I just had my interview this past Thursday for Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad, and expecting an Offer soon to start a drug screen and Training. I’m honestly excited, and see this as a life-long opportunity for me❤
Man I’ve been waiting on a start date with ns out of meridian for a week now
Expect to wait 4-8 weeks lol.
UP is hiring after laying off in August anyone working their now know how soon another furlough may happen
Great video and thanks for giving that's facts abt this particular topic that I've wondered about! I've certainly learned something new from every video you've shared with us Joey! Thanks again for sharing another great video and tutorial with us along with your PRICELESS time and effort my friend! Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA
Waiting to get my background check back from NS still have not gotten a email for my medical questionnaire yet painfully slow process
Hi. Im going to be watching more of your videos but i recently got an interview at cpkc and i wanted to ask your opinion if you think it is worth going into the railroad industry? The challenge calls my attention but the salary seems in general low for how intensive this job is. Any advice would be appreciated. Keep making this great content 👌
The job itself isn’t hard at all and most days if you’re on the road the most you will do is walk. You’re paid six figures a year for the inconvenience the railroad brings into your life honestly. Once you become an engineer then your income will go up 150-200k
Have you ever been on a Norfolk southern heritage unit?
joey how's it going on your end? i was in your area a little while ago, meridian Mississippi... my daughter was at the naval station in school there... i think you mentioned in a past vid you would layover in meridian when you worked the pool... man i feel for anyone who has to layover in that place... wow that place is wholly and totally uneventful.... yikes!!!
Hey Claude! I am doing good buddy I hope all is well on your end. Yeah there isn't much going on in that little town lol. Only thing there is to do is sleep or watch tv..
Lol....their will never be a shit down...they will make a clown show until the last minute and 'miraculously ' make a deal...never fails....
They think we're stupid.
Hey is the training classroom work hard at the Norfolk Southern training center?
It's not hard at all if you pay attention and listen. My class started with 16 and is now down to 9 because people overexaggerate everything and quit showing up for training. Them giving you a hotel room doesn't mean it's party time down here in Georgia. You need to be studying as much as possible to get yourself ready for the a6 evaluation and final exam that includes signals. If you have Conrail signals for your hired location, you need to study even more since Conrail signals govern train speed much much more elaborately. hope this helps dude!
Thanks man I appreciate it I am autistic and I already struggle with classroom work. But I really want to work for this railroad when I graduate
Is a paper railroad conductor certification, is treated the same as a conductor card? My current railroad is going to give me a temporary paper railroad conductor certification, but can I use that on my resume when I apply for other railroads, instead of waiting on my conductor card to come in? Bc it's up to a month before I even get my conductor card & just want to get my certification & go to another railroad. That's why I was wondering if I could just receive my paper certification & be good to go when I go to another railroad, instead of having to wait it out until I get my card in. My main thing is getting my certification.
I’m not sure how each carrier handles prior conductors with certifications. From my understanding and I could be wrong cause I’m not sure on this. They will make you go through their training programs regardless if you have your conductors card or not mainly due to safety reasons and the FRA being on their ass hard here recently.
They're not shutting down now.
HEY RAILROAD TALK WHATS GOING ON I WANNA ASK YOU ABOUT NS IN JAX DO NO ABOUT THERE YARD
NS RUNS TO FEC YARD DID YOU KNOW THAT
I did my physical, background check, and drug screening about 2-3 weeks ago. My bmi is 40.7 and I had a minor misdemeanor and a traffic offense that I forgot about. I did disclose that i have sleep apnea mild but its treated with a CPAP. Do I have anything to worry about? Will I make it to Georgia for NS?
I also did . My physical, medical came back as cleared but my background and drug hasn’t been. I also got a misdemeanor about 8 years ago but has since left my driving record. I’m going for UP
It’s seriously luck of the draw. As long as you are medically cleared and nothing to criminally debilitating, you’re fine. Over the last 10 years I have applied at every class 1 railroad, rejection after rejection. I settled with driving a truck for the rest of my life, got married at 23 and have 3 children, shortly before I married I got a misdemeanor OWI, now almost 8 years later, in great health, 30 years old with some life experience I’m the ideal candidate. They couldn’t hire me soon enough, I honestly drug the process out longer than they intended. I went from applied, interviewed, drug tested and hired in 6 weeks and if I hadn’t of drug it out talking it over with my wife I could’ve been hired in 3 weeks and training in 6 weeks. I truly think it’s luck if the draw. Best of luck!
@@Peterbilttrucker I got fully cleared and have a start date officially. Cheers
Hey man. I got accepted into NS and am awaiting a start date. Can I please talk to you in dms somewhere? I have lots of questions and I feel like you’d definitely be able to answer all of them.
What are the Big Three strikes doing to the railroads?…🤔🤔🤷🏾♂️
one thing it's doing is shuttering some of the railcars that haul the auto parts... including box cars, auto racks and those FTTX frame flats... also the rail jobs that serve those striking facilities aren't working... there are guys in those affected areas who are scrambling to mark up on different assignments until the strike is over... i was working for the UP when GM went on strike back in 98... there was a FLOOD of guys who came over to milwaukee from janesville to mark up... what a MESS
