Jen's reactions to puppy dog Bumblebee was worth the wait
After seeing Jens reactions to all the death in this I can't wait to see how she handles the 86 movie!

I'm pretty sure Bumblebee is acting like that in the garage because his memory is damaged. I'm pretty sure he recovers it later but even so his first encounter with humans he got hit with a Hummer and then attacked by a Deceptacon while he was distracted that permanently disfigured him. As far as he knows the Autobots could have lost the war by now or at the very least no backup will be coming to help him while he can barely hold himself together much less fight.
There is pretty long list of bad things happening to him and he's nearly dead so he has every right to be dreading any contact especially with a "hostile" species that just recently beat him within an inch of his life.

The only reason Bumblebee acts scared towards her is because he lost his memories, which include his training of fearlessness but he eventually gets them back, which is why he sort of acts like Iron Giant for most the film, hints the "core memory system" thing that showed up in his vision after get blasted and ran down
It's very cute and I honestly think this is best Transformers film by far, I don't give a damn what people say if you think the first film is the best that's ok and if you like the animated film the best that's also ok, but that's just opinion
I know Jenn is gonna be like, "Oh this is a cute movie."

Jens reaction to the looks of the transformers is fun. I remember being in theaters and freaking out over seeing the iconic looks finally get portrayed in live action. Bee was usually one of the small Autobots so he could interact more with humans than the ones that tower over them

@@means_well same. I didn’t watch much of Gen 1 cause i had a dvd set of like 1 season (don’t know which one I remember they took control of Devastator and went back in time) but Wheeljack was always cool to me with his inventions and i loved his design. Glad to see his design in live action
@@namecomingsoon9517 I mean, the Bot literally made the Dinobots, of course he's awesome. I love Wheeljack, he has one of my favorite G1 designs with his ear things and I love the scientist builder character type, especially in media from the 80s.

This movie has by far the best live action depiction of the Transformers. Bumblebee's small stature is accurate to his G1 counter part and honestly I can't complain. Who wouldn't want a tiny but also sorta big robot bff

@A Fùcking Bird Blinded by nostalgia, because I think the newest Live Action movie is the best, I am not sure you know what that word means.
The best way to look at this movie is as a standalone reboot of the franchise.
It was originally intended to be a prequel to the Michael Bay films, hence why Megatron is not present, since at that point he would've already crashed on earth looking for the Allspark.
The underperformance of The Last Knight caused them to reshoot and rewrite certain scenes in this movie, in case they needed a way to soft-reboot the movies. There is nothing in this movie that outright shows that it isn't in the same universe until the ending scene with Optimus and the Autobots arriving in the 80's instead of 2007.
This movie's story will supposedly be continued in the next film, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, set to release June 2023.
The autobots could easily leave and come back.

@@Kyle_Hanson I can really only go off of what both movies are saying. They left Cybertron and eventually made their way to Earth one way or another. They know the AllSpark(that they were looking for in Movie 1) was not on Cybertron so I'd assume they never went back there at any point
RIP Cliffjumper. I had him as an action figure when I was little, so he was always one of my favorites in the 80's show.
I didn't expect to enjoy this movie as much as I did, but after the last two Bayformers film, this was like a breath of fresh air.

Also the foght choreographed really well as if they'd had actually been trained in anything besides shooting a gun, qnd the most of that was transformers 3 and even then it was kinda just big movements

As someone who watched the original cartoons as a kid and played with the original toys, it was great to see all the Transformers looking like their gen1 forms. The movie was fun and light and much better than the last few crazy Transformers movies. I also thought the fight choreography was great, especially how they used transforming during the fight to their advantage. Thanks guys!

The thing I loved about this movie is that the colors were back. You could tell the Autobots and Decepticons apart cause they weren't all one stainless steel color.
Holden, Jen, HUGE FAN. Just wanted to recommend "Ranking of Kings" because I think Jen will absolutely love the main protagonist and I think you will really like how dense and complex the entire story is. But don't let the posters or the cover arts fool you, the show is brutally hardcore and will test your teardrops. Once again, BIG FAN.

It is easily my favorite, but I feel you had to live it to love it.
nothing because you need to watch at least some of g1 beforehand, otherwise you're not going to have any connection. they'd only know ratchet and ironhide from the instruments of destruction scene but they look completely different and they are different characters in g1. prowl and brawn won't mean anything to them. bumblebee's also barely in it so jen wouldn't be happy about that. villains outside of megatron in the bay movies might as well not exist so starscream taking over and soundwave's general existence won't have any impact either. i'm surprised so many people wanted them to watch it.

I personally enjoyed it, but as a Transformers fan, the opening was incredible. I also like that this film calmed down and had more focus than the previous Michael Bay directed movie.

bumblebee is a warrior from an advanced civilization but you have to remember his memory is completely gone and he just wakes up next to some alien creature that he has no idea what it is, you’d be scared too
Dylan O'Brien is the voice actor of Bumblebee. The same man was in Maze Runner trilogy and Teen Wolf TV series.
It’s funny that everyone loves Bee but gives no credit to the Bay movies. Ironically, they are the reason that he’s as popular as he is.

I saw Bumblebee when it came out and honestly it was the first Transformers movie since Revenge of the Fallen that I’ve really enjoyed. I love the old style of every transformer and the soundtrack for this movie is great too.

I like the part where Bee eyes turns red when he is on Hatred. Which is fitting considering that Decepticons are the Hatred ones.
And at 24:41 is a reference to Transformers G1 Intro. Where I think Jazz is transformed to a vehicle mode when he getting thrown just to create a momentum to turn around and transform into robot mode to punch decepticon’s ass.

For those who don't know, this movie is a complete reboot from the tf movies, it isn't a soft reboot or a prequel, Hasbro confirmed years ago that this new movies will be set in a complete separate universe from the known "Bayverse"

I sometimes rewatch this movie just for the cybertron scenes. It really relit my faith in the series. The new directions and designs are amazing. Also Bee is smaller because he was like that in G1. Again they're much closer to the original now

Holden & Jen, going into the 1986 Transformers: The Movie, I feel like some context is required in advance. That movie was also a soft reboot for it's time. It was after the first two seasons of the show and utilizes a time jump from 1986 in the series to 2005 in the film. It was also a marketing tool to phase out existing toys and introduce new ones in ways that largely traumatized many younger kids. Narratively it also shakes things up by resetting the status quo for the TV series which would be set after the movie going forward. The best things about it are the action sequences and the 80's 🎸 soundtrack, but it is a little harder to get your footing without knowledge of the TV series, so manage your expectations. Also, some dialogue between Prime and Megatron will seem familiar as it was lifted for the Bay films.

I really liked Hailee Steinfeld in this movie and in the Hawkeye TV series.
I would love them doing a Disney The Love Bug style movie with Bumblebee as the love bug.
She is just great in everything she does, I loved her in True Grit and Arcane as well.
Not to mention she's also great in Spider-Man Into The Spider Verse and I dont doubt she'll be great in the sequel

Also during the filming production of the Bumblebee movie that Peter Cullen didn't enjoy Voicing as Optimus Prime for the bumblebee movie cause the Studio decided to use a different voice actor and they brought in Peter Cullen to re record the lines
I was waiting for this reaction for so long. Bumblebee is hands down one of my favorite movies of all time, and easily very rewatchable. I watched it so many times that even Charlie’s annoying family eventually grew on me. Everything else is great, and I love how the villains got the spotlight, Shatter was an original character created for this movie, Dropkick was a nobody, even young Agent Simmons makes an appearance here.
This is the most accurate of the live action transformers movies. Seeing all the classic cartoon characters show up was amazing. Even if some died horribly

The Transformers having vehicle parts on Cybertron is a reference to the original cartoon. The Transformers looked the same on Earth and Cybertron

Amongst all the live action Transformers movies, this is actually my fave. It had that adventurous aspect to it compared to Bay's films and I loved the Charlie and Bumblebee relationship. I love how it reinvigorated the franchise, while still respecting what made the classic cartoons loved. Can't wait for Rise of The Beasts which is a sequel to this film(at least I think it is).

An interesting thing to note about cybertronians is the fact that their weapons such as missiles, bullets, or energy blasts behave similar to how hair and finger nails do on people. They grow back. It’s weird but it does answer that question.

holdens sidemarks mid movie always make me laugh, specifically mid Bee vs Decepticon (dont remember the names) scene. overall enjoyed the movie for enjoyment, didnt take it too seriously. always look forward to watching your guys' videos
I absolutely love this movie, just as much if not more than the others in the series. I've always loved Bumblebee and I love the Charlie-Bumblebee relationship; they just were so great together. But one other thing I loved about this movie on a personal level was the year it is set in, 1987; I was 16 in 1987, so the time period of this film was very nostalgic for me. It brought back some great memories. I regularly watch this movie as I own a copy and I have the full-size film poster hanging up.
The movie was originally a prequel to the Bay films but Hasbro later retconned it to be the start of a rebooted universe.
So all the future movies will ignore the Bay movies, and solely use Bumblebee's canon.
Also, rip Cliffjumper. He always dies a horrible death lmao.

As much as I love Bumblebee, it's absolutely shady that the producers had Peter Cullen mimic someone else who was playing Optimus Prime. That's such a slap in the face to the man who originated the role of the Autobot Supreme Commander.
That is kind of how voice acting works, you try to sound like the character.

Personally I loved this movie. After seeing it for the first time was amazing. I loved the lore, the bad guys, the voice acting, the story. And yes it does have cute moments but it’s also somewhat more serious than other transformers movies. As we literally see people get liquified. I have to admit I like seeing them pop to. The cgi was pretty fantastic. And on top of all else it has John Cena.
There's no way you just said this is more serious then the other movies.

While i prefer*** the designs in the first Transformers movie to the ones here. Im so glad they decided to scale back the overdesigning bc it definitely looks better than those last few. Hopefully Marvel does the same thing soon.
31:15, just to clear this up, it has been announced by the main studio Paramount that this is separate from the Michael Bay films (aka a full reboot not soft reboot), so Optimus looking different and also arriving earlier explains that this isn't supposed to continue with the Bay storyline, this timeline instead continues into next year's Transformers Rise of the Beasts, So basically....:

'Warrior from an advanced civilization' who is now wounded, cannot speak, does not want to hurt anyone, and knows the local life is hostile. Making himself non threatenning by hiding in the corner seems like a smart play
Finally, a Transformers reaction I can watch.
The thing that made this film 1000% better than the Bay series is that they portrayed the Transformers, both Autobots and Decepticons, more like their G1 original forms. Seeing Prowl, Wheeljack, Soundwave, and especially Optimus lookin like they're fresh out of the cartoon made my inner 80's child so happy :D
Also, Jen: Bumblebee originally was a yellow VW Beetle, hence his name, he's always been one of the smaller Autobots along with Brawn and Cliffjumper
Absolutely love hearing oldschool Soundwave saying "RAVAGE: EJECT" and having him pop out. SO COOL
I also love how this film really hits home with the toxic positivity that families would push on their kids back then. You can't ever bad mad or sad or whatever, you always have to be happy or else something is wrong with you and that'll reflect badly on THEM :/

If you look back at the first transformers movie and look at the scene where Sam is at the car lot picking out his car. You can see a beetle sitting right beside bumblebee and it’s a great tip of the hat in that great scene

I definitely prefer this movie over the other transformers movies. The chemistry between bumblebee and Charlie was great. Even the other humans were more tolerable than the humans in the Michael bay movies

@@Mrsplifferdoodle Sam was great in the first one but the ones after he just kinda kept going more and more over the top. I do wish they kept him instead of marky mark though. He was significantly more entertaining and made more sense why he was there.
This is without a doubt the best movie in the franchise. The story isn't the best thing ever, it's not winning any Oscars anytime soon or anything, but it's still a solid, well-constructed film that brought something fresh and new to the franchise with some great action, great effects, and a really strong (if not overdone) emotional hook between Charlie and Bee that gives the film a heartfelt center that the other TF films before it lacked. Great film overall IMO.

@@Dagenspear it's just a solid relationship that grows and develops. It's nothing SUPER complex but it was performed in a way that elevated what was on the page, and it gave the film something for the audiences to dig deeper into, which is something you couldn't say with a straight face about the bay films.
Bay films still easily better especially when it comes to the cgi
@@Mrsplifferdoodle if the only comparison is based on CGI, sure, the bay films are better, but IMO I'd rather have a solid story and characters with good to average CG effects than a bad story with amazing CG effects, cause that's more important to me IMO

Yeesss Hardman boss for showing some Kubo love!! one of my favorite animated films for sure!! love it!! Bumblebee i thought was great, loved the change from bay and the charlie - bumblebee duo!
