the Deep Blue Sea one right before the megalodon attacked was also great.
That was basicly the director having them look left, in the original screening they forgot to filter that out.
Just in case it wasn't made clear enough on the screen, the T-Rex "hero" at the end was, in fact, the T-Rex from the very first movie. There are moments that you can see the scars she got from the raptors in the climax of that first film.
The two old-school Jeeps they showed are also DIRECTLY from the first film. That introduction scene, where everyone arrives at the island, the Jeep that Hammond and the lawyer were riding in was 29, the one the boys fixed up and drove off in this movie. Jeep 18, that Owen and Claire were hiding behind was the Jeep that Alan and Ellie were riding in when they saw the dinos for the first time.
Those (and many other) connections are some of the smartest things Colin Trevorrow and his team did for this film.
Btw the T-Rex is called "Rexy (or Rexie)". Robert Muldoon gave her this nickname in the book.

So fun fact, helicopters can glide too. They use something called an auto rotation to glide safely to the ground then use the momentum of the the blades to flare right before they land to slow to a safe landing speed. Helicopter landings under no power conditions are arguably safer than planes landing with no engines.

28:20 with "On Your Left" and the random cut ins of the Avengers theme had me dying. As always a great reaction video. I like this movie a lot. Never understood all of the hate it got.
For me seeing this movie involved a lot of screams and tears. Just before the movie came out my older sister got her wisdom teeth pulled,and I was the only one home all day to take care of her,and as a thank you for taking care of her she took me to see this movie.
Fun fact the gun Chris Pratt carry’s is a Marlin 1895, which according to their website is the only gun rated to take down a T. rex.
I really loved the part when Henry is explaining to Masrani how the dinosaurs we see in the park aren't visibly what actually existed. What we see is what most people imagine dinosaurs as and they explain how a lot of their genetic template is missing so modern day species are used to fill the gaps in the genetic code.
This came out after all the “dinosaurs had feathers” and “Spinosaurus wasn’t what was depicted in JP3”, so it was the easiest way to explain away why they look like “theme park monsters”, and why they took it to the next level with hybrids.

Fun deep lore fact: masrani took control of ingen from Hammond before the events of jurassic park 3. His team started using the lab on site b to make brand new dinos, which is why in JP3 you see strange looking raptors and a spinosaurus. Pretty sure a hurricane comes through and they have to evacuate but that's why site b had new stuff
The Spinosaurus was taken to another island after 2015, I believe.
The lecture scene in JPIII also explains why Jurassic World (the park) was so successful for the ten years it was open.

Absolutely loved the "On your left" as Blue runs in. I like this movie, it's a sold popcorn movie. The original JP is the best in the series but, for me, this is 2nd place. Love the inclusion of the Mosasaurus in this one. Unfortunately I had it's moment of killing the I-Rex spoiled for me about an hour before I saw this at the cinema but I know it would have been the highlight if I'd seen it cold.
Also, minor point: the long-necked dinosaurs that the I-Rex kills are Apatosaurus.

This movie was liked fine enough, some like it for the solid fun, others don't because of how corporate it comes across, by the numbers blockbuster franchise movie, being another "eh" sequel to a classic.The boys carer, Zara, to this day, does not deserve that death, especially when they ran off, and much worse characters got off lighter.
Saying it did well was kinda understatement, it made 208 million in it's opening weekend, and 1.6 Billion dollars overall, beating The Avengers opening record and taking it's spot as third highest grossing film of all time... Until Force Awakens months later blasted by it.
Eddie also didn't deserve the death he had in The Lost World, especially while he was in the middle of rescuing Sarah, Ian and Nick

I think the criticism towards Zara's death is kinda strange. The actress, Katie McGrath, has the honor of being the first female death in the Jurassic film series, and not only that but it's one of the best, creative, and memorable death scenes. It should be seen as an honor and nothing else. If we really want to talk about undeserving deaths, let's talk about Eddy from The Lost World. Or let's talk about Muldoon from the original film. Hell, let's talk about everyone who was killed that had no ill intent including Zara.
I thought this was one of those movies that actually was as good as the original

In an engine malfunction, you can let the rotors glide in the wind as you drop. Since they are essentially spinning wings, it'll have a corkscrew effect to fall at a slower rate. It'll still hurt, but definitely makes it survivable.
6:53 Funny how he called him Richard Parker, because in the book and movie there is a scene where there was misunderstanding too where people thought Pi was Richard Parker and the tiger was named Pi, but it was the other way around (on second thought, they are actually right, because in the ending of the movie, we are given two stories to believe and if we believe the other story where there was never a tiger and never any animals at all, instead it was only Pi in the boat, that means Pi is indeed Richard Parker, the tiger is a representation of Pi just like how the other animals represent his mother(chimpanzee), a sailor(zebra) and the chef(hyena) ) man I love Life of Pi, its so fascinating and thought provoking, Rest in Peace for the actor who played Adult Pi

I like this one. It's my favorite after the original. Each sequel to this point used cool things that were omitted from the books later than they did in those 2 books. Lost World went right up to my favorite part of the book (the part with the raptors) but instead of a raptor showdown, in the book the raptors wouldn't go in the area with the buildings. The reason was a dinosaur (not Indominous) that turned out to have camouflage ability. Such an awesome moment in the book and I actually exclaimed "YES!!!" in the theater when the Indominous had the ability. I'd been waiting for that since The Lost World.
That T-Rex is the same 1993 Rex. Its pretty cool seeing a 27-year-old Tyrannosaur fight a 2 or 3-year-old Indominus fight tooth and claw.

Side note: Helicopters float to the ground with autorotation when they lose power, they don't just drop out of the sky.
This is probably the real reason we don't ever hear about helicopter crashes.

On the whole helicopter thing, My dad a Huey Pilot for the marine core and when flying on deployment time, a sandstorm whipped up and caused their emergents to shut down. He and is whole crew survived the crash but had to wait for rescue because they didn’t know if they landed in a field filled with IEDs
I like how this entire movie is just an excuse for Holden to reveal to us his deep-seated fear of helicopters.

The marketing team went into overdrive for this movie. Before it’s release the park had a website to buy tickets, park maps, real stores and restaurants with park specific merch and menus, webcams, ride wait times, hotels, weather.😂😂

I feel this movie did some good homage to the original while also taking it forward with all the DNA splicing.

I loved this movie,it's really fun. One of my favorite parts is when you see kids being able to ride a baby triceratops. If this was a real thing I would love to have a chance to do that.

I saw this in the theater in IMAX. The part I remember most was the 3D scaling they used on a couple scenes was way off. When the helicopter landed on the hill in the foreground with the park city in the background, the helicopter looked like it was sized as a toy. The eye separation wasn't right.
The lake creature grabbing Indominus was cool, too.
Could that be a system problem if the projector alignment was off? IMAX uses a double image system (two projectors) and it requires actual alignment.
I think I saw this in IMAX 3D and don't remember any scaling issues. But maybe I'm remembering it wrong.
Actually, when an helicopter had an engine failure he didnt just fall from the sky, the inertia of the rotors help him glide into a controled landing thats called auto-rotation.

Exactly, and Holden's comment about how helicopters operate was totally inaccurate and I was pretty disappointed in his comment. I totally respect the fact that he may never want to travel in one but should learn how the dynamics of helicopter flight works before making that kind of comment (and yes, as a helicopter pilot I was shocked by that statement!)

7:14 when I was a teenager, some guy crashed his self-made helicopter in my neighborhood. He crash-landed it on the same street as a family whose lawn I mowed and I could see the marks on the asphalt and sidewalk for weeks. Amazingly, no one got hurt, not even the pilot. Now I'm an aerospace engineer, and I have to agree with Holden on this one, I'll take a plane over a helicopter any day!
I mean... there was just a 737 out in China that dropped out of the sky like a missile. Helicopters, so long as it's right side up should have the auto-rotation of the rotors, which SHOULD slow its descent some. But no matter what way you swing it, plane and copter crashes are both equally dangerous with the potential for massive destruction.

Any aircraft, plane or helicopter, nose diving towards the ground without control will crash.
An engine failure won't cause a plane to immediately fall out of the sky, however. It will glide.
An airplane and a helicopter having equal chances of crashing is technically incorrect.
In terms of a crash both being equally as dangerous is also incorrect.
@@thechh8297 @The Chh I did clarify that if the helicopter falls right side up that the rotors SHOULD go into auto-rotation and slow the descent (note that I emphasized 'should'). I figured that damage to the rotors would prevent them from working properly and would prevent auto-rotation was common sense, which is why I didn't mention it. I didn't say that they have equal chances of crashing, nor did I say planes couldn't glide to a relatively safe landing as it's happened multiple times. They are equally dangerous in a general sense however... depending on where they land and how they land, the speed at which they are moving, and the angle/trajectory of their descent. If either one lands out in the wilderness, there will be no human casualties (besides the people on the vehicle) either way unless some VERY unlucky hiker/hunter just so happens to be there. Both could, however result in wildfires that could lead to additional deaths if not controlled. If one or the other crashes in a populated area, they have a much higher chance of casualties (though the copter is less likely to cause casualties depending on where it lands in said populated area). Most people in the aircraft could die or be seriously injured unless they somehow get lucky or the integrity of the plane/copter is stable AND the pilot(s) is able to control the descent. There's a lot of variables you have to take into account that will obviously change your chances of survival and their destructive results, so I stand by what I said.

At 6:45 it’s from the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie. Peter comes in from fighting the Goblin in the burning building and Norman and Aunt May have that conversation as they go in his room.
The original spiderman the conversation between norman and aunt may in peters room. This was my favorite scene and the goblin felt the most menacing here.
The T-rex in this movie is the same one from the first Jurassic Park movie her name is Rexy by this point in Jurassic world she quite an old dinosaur but still strong enough to hunt and kill

Helicopters got a thing called autorotation when the engine fails and the rotor is disconnected from the engine, it relies on upward flowing wind, you might get down a bit faster than with a functioning engine, but you're more likely to make it than just crash.

Seeing a car try to ram a gate and fail would be so funny. The only film in recent memory that came close to that idea was in Logan when he tried driving through the fence and it didn’t work initially. Added a nice touch of realism
If you likedJP World I recommend watching Camp Cretaceous on Netflix. The story runs parallel to the movie and is about kids going to camp at the island. The show is aimed at older kids but is definitely above the average kids show.

Jen being so invested in the wellness of CGI dinosaurs was one of my favorite parts, beside Holden stealing Jen's lines. TBH I missed "is it a fish?" When the water dinosaur showed up to eat that poor shark.
Absolutely love this movie. It will always have a special place in my heart, because it has been 14 years since Jurassic Park III when this came out. Such a long wait and we got to see how the Park would've looked like if it actually opened. Also love that the T-Rex in this and the World sequels is the same one that was in Jurassic Park 1. Love that continuity.
Fun fact: the T-Rex is the original T-Rex from the first movie. That's why it is attracted especially to flares.

Also nostalgia also helps a lot, nostalgia isn’t always a bad thing. Especially when the beloved series comes back after 14 years it’s good to have a little something for the people who grew up on those movies to be like “oh wow I remember that”
@@lvstinger5838 I get the intention but is there actual development there? It's not like Blue or the Spinosaurus which had individual personalities or traits that could carry over with a specific individual, Rexy is actually less significant than the male T-Rex from The Lost World.
Also "oh wow I remember that" is like 50% of the movie.

I'm glad Jen enjoyed it so much and that you like it as well, Holden. I LOVE this movie.
I think Owen is a good character. People like to say Pratt only plays himself in movies, and while he definitely keeps a similar sense of humor he kind of has this no nonsense edge in this movie that I really dig and wish was more explored(in Fallen Kingdom he's basically the same, so I wish they just kind of fleshed him out more). But besides him I do think the only big flaws in these newer movies is memorable characters.
As a huge Jurassic Park fan, I remember being in high school back in '06, with our even then outdated no-tower Apple Macintosh computers, scrounging for any scraps of information on a possible Jurassic Park 4. There was always rumors, and I think a few times here and there somebody would try to actually make it happen, but man it got bleak after a few years. Those message boards slowly but surely would dry out.
14 years. FOURTEEN. You can't imagine the hype I had when rumors started picking up again. I mean i must've been one of the first to have seen a leaked conference image of the Jurassic World symbol back when it was being conceptualized, or at least shown to higher ups. There was no full script yet or anything. The community was so starved they really found out about it like 4 years before it started filming or something like that. It was crazy. So I mean this movie and The Force Awakens really made me feel like a kid again in the theater. Surreal experiences, both.
Watched this with my dad in the theater and I was blown away!
It made $1.6 billion dollars at the box office against a $150 million dollar budget, making it the highest grossing JURASSIC PARK movie and the second highest grossing movie of 2015, behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which made $2 billion dollars!
Critics said that, "Even though this film doesn't capture the awe or imagination of the original JURASSIC PARK, it does give us what we always wanted: the ultimate popcorn summer thrill ride."

I swear, every time I see an ad at the beginning of a video, my first instinct is to comment on the ad as if it were a part of the video that everyone saw. Great video, btw.
it WAS fun being an extra in this movie, just lots of running & extreme heat. We had to wait until there were no clouds in the sky in direct sunlight & run for multiple takes in different directions, but would do it again.
It's actually opposite in terms of losing power for planes and helicopters. Planes glide until they go too slow then they drop like a rock when there's no more lift. Helicopters rotors get unlocked when there's no more power and they go into "Autorotation" and glide down more gently than any plane gliding without power would. Of course if the rotors are gone, then you're f*cked but you can say the same about a plane's wings. But in terms of "dropping like a rock". there's more chance of that on a plane than a helicopter.
Basically, saying Helicopters would drop like a rock is similar to saying the earth is only 6000 years old or that the earth is flat.

The assistant's death in this film got a lot of criticism when the movie came out. Her "crime" did not deserve the punishment she received.
Right? The crime of "looking after the kids you were put in charge of." I wish the youngest one died, then I wouldn't have cared as much. Always afraid to kill kids for some reason.

It happened in the pilot episode of Angel, 'City of...' Angel is inside the mansion saving Cordelia from the vampire oligarch and Quinn tries to crash through the gate but the gate is too strong so the car bounces off it.
Wow I never realized that kingpin was in this movie, Vincent D’Onofrio has a crazy acting range.
