I truly enjoy your tutorials. I’m a beginner quilter at age 71 and your explanations are just wonderful. This will be my second quilt from your tutorials. Having a blast! Thank you sooooo much.
You've explained this perfectly - I love the small but IMPORTANT details:" I'll pile the blacks on left & white on right!" I'm organised but you are very skilled! Thank you to your family and Staff!
Totally love Donna and Matt and their quilts and their tutorials! There is a man downstairs tiling the walls of my kitchen and he's driving me insane - every thought that pops into his head also comes out of his mouth, along with every line of the song playing on the radio, but about 2 seconds later, so I have retreated upstairs with my lap-top for some "Jordan Fabrics therapy"! Keep up the good work and save my sanity ;-)
Donna Jordan has become one of my favorite quilt gurus! I just ordered fabric from them.. can’t wait to use it! They may become my favorite fabric store! Donna is wonderful and awesome at what she does! Thank you Donna!
I used this pattern and video to make a memory quilt from fabric from my dad’s shirts after he passed away. Your video was incredibly helpful as this was only my fourth quilt! I made a CA king size by adding an extra column on each side for a 110” square finished quilt. I’ll try to add a photo.
Thank you for this tutorial! I was so inspired that I ordered a set of pre-cut strips from you and just finished my very first quilt top! You made me believe that I could do this…thank you!!!
Donna, I love your tutorials. You are so thorough. The log cabin is my favorite block. What I do when putting it together is the piece I just sewed on goes to the top and my next strip goes to the right and just keep turning your block counter clockwise to add your next strip. This helps me tremendously when I take a break and come back to it. You are delightful.
I just love it when you show a quilt that you have done before then i can catch up. There is a lot of precision cutting but your explanations are so clear that I’m sure i can do it. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your expertise and the gift of a free pattern 🌻
I am finishing a top of guilt and I love how you do your borders, so I am changing the pattern I had for your ideas. I know it will make a beautiful guilt which I am making for one of my sons and his wife. Thank you Donna.
Hi Donna, WOW each design you turned those blocks into was lovelier than the last, so much so that i wouldn't have a clue as to which i loved more. The darks and lights that you used in the making of this quilt are just stunning together, and enhances each other lovely. I have solid oak furniture in my house and this would be great in any of the bedrooms or if smaller, as a throw for the livingroom. Thank you flower for sharing your talented hands once more with us. I am thankful for the day i found your channel because you have gave me confidence and a want to learn something new. Sending you and Matt crafty hugs from Norah, Glenochil Village, Central Scotland.
I just love all of your quilts and tips. I think you are one of the best on u-tube. One of these days I. Will get some pictures of my quits that I’ve made!
Wonderful tutorial ... so straightforward and easy to understand. Donna, you have so much energy ... makes me exhausted sometimes watching you go through each step so cheerfully! You make the absolute best quilting videos on TH-cam!
We can’t say this enough. . . we LOVE ❤️ your fabrics and if you’re not a teacher, you should be. Donna, you have such a way to explain what you’re doing and why and so easy to follow along. We wish we lived closer to you. Hugs 🤗 from North Carolina
Oh what a beautiful quilt and seeing the many variations was mesmerising. Wonderful Donna. Gosh you are faster than a machine at cutting those blocks wow!!!! Absolutely superb.
Your idea of holding the ruler with a weight has made a great difference in my cutting - the piecing is so much more accurate now - thank you! I love your videos and your quilts, and I hope to make a trip down (from Seattle) to visit in person sometime.
Wow! What a great tutorial! You did a fantastic job explaining everything we need to know to make this beauty! Many thanks for all of your great videos!!!
This quilt is beautiful! I want to thank you for the best quilting tip that I have ever had . It's using the weight to hold the ruler. I've lost a lot of strength in my hands and started ruining fabric because of the ruler slipping. I'm thrilled to say that I haven't ruined another piece of fabric since I bought my weight. Thanks so much.
Wow how wonderful. I can't wait to make this log cabin quilt for my master bedroom in my custom log home. It will be a treasure. I couldn't have attempted this without your video's and knowledge, Thank you Thank You. I will send a photo when it is complete. I wish I didn't live so far away, on east coast.
Good job Donna Jordan from Jordan Fabrics! You make quilting seem so doable for everyone. You really don’t need a fancy machine for quilt making, except perhaps a longarm for the quilting.
Hi Donna and Matt! I am making this quilt right now for my brother, and have a lot of fun. I am fairly new to quilting, but love it! You are a wonderful teacher, Donna, and I am waiting for all of your videos. Not too long, but full of the essentials informations. Love it! Keep up posting some! :-)
I was amazed at all the different patterns you made just from moving the blocks in different ways. Fantastic. I’ll be using this one for sure. I love how you teach. Very inspiring
It is a pleasure to see all works that you make. It is a pity that in my country is si hard can get fabrics like yours! I wish that you could send it to my country. Beautiful works!
I really enjoyed this Log Cabin tutorial I have watched it often. Log Cabin is my favorite pattern so l am just deciding what color combo to use this time! Keep up the good work your tutorials are the very best!!
Love Log Cabins, the very first bed size quilt I made!! Getting ready to make another for my son's wedding gift. This will make 4 log cabin bed size quilts I have made. They always look so rich. Love them!! Thanks Donna you are a wonderful teacher. Would love to visit your shop one day!
Update from my just posted Delima. I just remembered something you said so I turned the fabrics around to wrong side and it TOTALLY works!!!! Yeah!! Tks!!
I do not like brown or grey in my quilts, never have. So I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful I found this finished quilt. Whether it was your choice of layout or the three colored edging that did the trick, I do not know. I was amazed at how nice the brown and grey looked. Thanks for the surprise.
Really enjoyed the video and when you showed all the possible orientations to create various patterns I really became convinced I needed to try this. The fabrics look like they’d go beautifully in our family room. This will be the next purchase I make! Thanks so much for all your videos. I’m new to quilting and have learned so much from your sharing!
SO, so excited to see this pattern!!! I have 4 1930's jelly rolls which would make a fabulous log cabin quilt. I also have a bundle of jelly roll batiks which would work AND jelly roll shirtings and darks (hundreds of strips...) You are going to keep me busy!! As always, I appreciate your tips. Thank you!
You have made my quilting experience so much easier. I didn't finger press anything before working, now I do and it really makes it so much easier when pressing. Thank you for that. Making my quilting making so much more fun. Love all your tutorials.
I'm watching again bc I'm putting together a log cabin quilt with three of your very old kits. I've had is set three different configurations and looking at it for weeks now, but hey I need my wall so it has to get done this weekend. lol Thanks again for the review of layouts.
I enjoy the fact that you demonstrate the different layouts . I like quilts that have a more modern feel to it, but you have made is block look so cool that I think it will be bump up me list. Just need to go fabric shopping now.
Donna!! Every tutorial I play a game and try to choose what color thread you will use to quilt this week's fabulous creation. My stats aren't very good, but sometimes I choose the thread you use...they always turn out gorgeous! Thanks for all the inspiration, I am going to make another log cabin quilt soon!
Hi Donna, another great tutorial..... ..I can see why the cutting is so very important..... I love log cabins.... I love batiks...... So guess what.....a perfect quilt.......👍 Thanks once more
Another great tutorial. A tip I learned to keep the orientation correct is that after adding three logs to the centre, you always add further logs to the side with two seams.
Many thanks for all your tutorials - you open a whole new world especially when faced with a good sized stash and my mind goes into "orbit" - at the very least you bring calm and sense to my planning.
I've only been quilting for a short time but you are a great teacher Donna! I'm able to follow and have made some beautiful gifts. Thank you for your tutorials. They are amazing!!
Absolutely love log cabins with so many designs and color combinations. Just did a quilt in batiks scrappy with navy/black for the light side of the blocks. Stunning as the scrappy sides just pop out with the same dark opposite side. Cannot do enough scrappy log cabins. Love this video.
I truly enjoy your tutorials. I’m a beginner quilter at age 71 and your explanations are just wonderful. This will be my second quilt from your tutorials. Having a blast! Thank you sooooo much.
So many quilts from just one pattern. It's amazing!
For the love of log cabin....I love it!!
I love the fact you are a family working together. And I enjoy your video s.
