Love your videos. You make them look as easy as they can be. I wouldn’t tried this without your video. I love how you shoot your videos so close to your sewing. That helps me so much. Keep them coming Mrs Jordon. Thanks.
I JUST ENJOY WATCHING ALL YOUR QUILTING. THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL. I AM SO HAPPY I FOUND YOU. THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO BREAK IT ALL DOWN FOR US BEGINNERS
I know I'm late to the party....but if you're doing half square triangles, leave the squares at 5 inches, sew, cut, and THEN trim the finished HSTs. Fewer chances to goof up the corners, and easier all around, in my opinion.
This is a beautiful quilt! I can't wait to try it. Thank you for smiling 😃 and keeping us so informed. You are so talented, Donna. You and your family are wonderful for having such wonderful tutorials ❤
I love your videos. I did this pattern with a black background, and different shades/patterns of purple for my daughter. Everyone loves it. I have learned more by watching your videos over the last few weeks than i did in years of reading and practice. THANK YOU !!!! Please continue to do these videos
I don’t speak english ,but your work deserves to express my gratitude to you,you are beautiful human and possessed hands and eyes select colors to make them a magic as a-gentle melody thanks to you
I must say, any quilt that you make that has black fabric in it, always piques my interest. I think black looks so beautiful in a quilt and really makes the other colours pop. This is stunning. Lee :)
Absolutely beautiful. Your enthusiasm amazes me at how you manage to put together these beautiful quilt tutorials, I have to agree with all those that have commented the bright batiks with the black is outstanding but how you have complimented it with the blue batik has made it magical. Just love this quilt thank you both for such amazing tutorials. Maz
@Marilyn Chappel - Yes, that blue batik was "magical", wasn't it? I'd like to win THAT quilt! Better yet, a kit with all those fabrics and make it myself.
I love this pattern and the colors! What a great look and would be great for a gift for a man! You are so great at making these quilts look so easy!! Thank you for another great tutorial I absolutely love watching you and seeing how you work thank you !!
Your tutorials are the absolute best that I've found!! Thank so SO MUCH for making quilting so easy. And I LOVE the camera and how close it gets to what you're showing. I've seen a lot of tutorials as I'm trying to get started quilting, and you make everything look so easy and fun. Many others stress how exact you have to be, which adds stress to it. Thank you for showing how fun it can be and that we don't have to stress constantly (or use the rotary cutter when scissors work fine) 😄
Hi Donna, another great Tutorial with a fantastic color combination. Matching up a 4-patch and half-square triangle, then matching them together again to make one wonderful block. You really help make the complex look so easy. Thanks to all at Jordan Fabrics who make our quilting lives better and easier. Maybe we’ll see you in March on our next trip north to Portland and back south home after seeing the granddaughters.
I am so in love/jealous of your fabric store. Wish we had a large store like that where I live, All that is around me is Walmart or Hobby Lobby. I could spend hours in your store just thinking of the many quilts I would love to make. Thanks for sharing your videos!!! You are so talented and make it look so easy.
Donna, I love your tutorials. You are so explicit every step of the way! You are an inspiration making a novice like me feel confident in attempting a quilt!
I think I may have just the right 3 packs of Batiks for this one, I have a group of grand daughters ( 4 of them) from 16 to 26 that would love this design. Then I have 3 more grand daughters ages 2 to 10. You are keeping me busy Miss Donna, 😁
Great looking quilt, and I liked seeing the pillow construction. I would like to see more start-to-finish, including borders and binding Thanks and keep up the great work.
I made this pattern about ten years ago in lighter batiks with a white background. It is one of my favorite quilts! I might just have to give it a go in the darker batiks with the black background. Thanks Donna for another great tutorial!!
Love the ease of charm packs and batiks surrounded by black is stunning. Just can’t go wrong with blue borders ❣️👍. Thank you for making such a “ treasure “ 💎!😉
I just love the bright batiks you used in this quilt! It is Stunning as usual and I love all of the tutorials you do! Clear concise instructions that anyone can understand. Thank you!
Cool pattern, beautiful fabrics, but most of all - you're so charming, pedagogical and exuberant! Also, the filming and editing just get better and better on your channel! Best quilting teacher online? Definitely yes! Love your stuff.
Hi Donna Jordan I am kamal from India and I am a tailor ,stitch garments from home I watch your videos before some days I love your designs sooooo much. thanks for sharing your creativity
Oh my word! I just bought the 12 half yard batiks from you when it was a special deal, I could cut my own squares and make this quilt. LOVE the black solid. And your nails are always a big hit! You could make your amazing nail artist famous!
Love this quilt design, you make it come alive in these colors. I gotta make this for my bed in these jewel colors. As always your tutorials are Awesome!!!
I love your tutorials.Thank you for the tips you share.I have been quilting since 1990 and I can always learn something new from you. Look forward each week to a new tutorial.Thank you !!
Honestly, wow. I love this. And the math adds up. Those squares will match and all is well with the world! At least while we immerse ourselves in this creative work!
My mom makes quillows for the family. This would be great for a quillow with the matching pillow. Quillows are 2 yards each front, back, batting with a pillow made from a front, back, and batting. Use the flip method to make pillow first. Then put down batting, back right side up, pillow on short side, then front wrong side up. Sew all the way around leaving a space to turn it. Turn it out. Sew opening closed. Then just quilt it. Mom just sews from top, where pillow is, straight down on both sides of pillow to the bottom. It divides it into thirds which then can be folded onto itself side to side. Then fold top to bottom a couple of times. Then reach into pillow grab quilt, and turn out. These one block wonders work great as quillows.
After watching you put fabric together that I would never buy let alone put together I have seen so many awesome gorgeous master pieces. You and Matt have really opened my eyes to using fabrics of really bright bold fabrics. Love watching these turn into the most beautiful quilts. Thanks for all your eye opening ideas. Wow you both Rock . Keep up your fantastic works. Bless you for your kindness of sharing these.i love your idea of the weights. I bought two of them and they Truly made a big difference when cutting. Thanks again. Keep your great ideas coming.
Your cinematography is getting better and better. Great angles and close-ups! And those jump cuts make for exciting viewing. Real quality work. I was very disappointed to read that you didn’t get any Oscar nominations today☺️.
@G H - Yup - GREAT camera work! Their son, James, produces their videos (the planning of how to film what patterns and fabrics Donna/Matt have chosen, filming, editing, putting the tutorials on YT, etc.) I love how he films so that we the viewer feel like we're there up close and personal in person following Donna around.
THANK YOU for reposting this tutorial using the Totally Tropical Batik fabric on your daily emails!! I had made a project using only 16 of the 42 charm squares of the Totally Tropical and wanted a pattern for a table runner using these fabrics. I have just enough charm squares for a 3 block table runner that you showed at the very beginning of the tutorial. I already have the black fabric and batting. I only need to get some back fabric. Hurray!!! Love it!!!
Hi Donna. I dont know if you read new messages on older videos but i wanted to try. The Jewel Box is one of my most favorite quilts. I've watched it so many times. I've been collecting colorful batiks. I'm going to make this for my husband for Christmas. I love watching all your videos. You show a lot of cozy quilt patterns. Can we order them from you? A couple of years ago during Covid not thinking of stores being closed my sweet husband drove me from Caldwell, Idaho just to come see you. When we were told we couldn't come in a very understanding and kind woman opened the door a little and handed us a "Jordan Fabric's " coffee/hot chocolate mug with a spoon in the handle. I treasure it and have it sitting on my sewing table. Thank you and your husband and kids for working so hard on bring us beautiful quilts to make at home. Sincerely, Sandy from beautiful Idaho
Have just been looking through various sites to find a pattern for this very block. So thank you for doing a video of it that shows how a simple pattern can be so stunning to look at. Love the colours and cannot wait to make one for myself. 😊😊
That is so pretty. I've bookmarked it for a later project already having 4 baby quilts and a personal throw for myself. But those colors are stunning. I chose the green thread too. Beautiful quilting too. Well done.
Love watching you, best tutorials out there. Your tips and step-by-step instructions have helped me immeasurably. (Your nail polish matches the jewel in the quilt!)
I absolutely love this quilt. The colors are so pretty. I got the free pattern and am going to make one. Thank you so much Donna for showing us how to make it. I love all your videos.

I am doing one of these no while I am waiting for cozy quilt sequesters next step. I liked this when it was on here originally. Cannot wait to see it finished. While not working, thanks for something to do.
Hi Donna, I just love watching you make these beautiful quilts.I always feel restful watching you as you have such a lovely way of teaching and when you start off and say hello to us I find myself smiling at you and saying hello back. I live in New Zealand and whilst we have a lot of beautiful patchwork fabrics available they are a little lacking and we don’t get them readily cut to the many sizes you have. Take care. PAuline.
DJ is the queen of quilting videos. Thank you so much for the many hours of excellent instruction
Donna, your videos are the best out there. You explain everything so well, and then your layouts are awesome.

Das ist mal ein Quilt den ich richtig toll finde. Die Farben und auch das Schnittmuster sind fantastisch. Liebste Grüße aus Deutschland

Very pretty. Pattern looks a lot simpler than the one I started years ago, stuffed in a box, and just now finished putting together.
Absolutely one of my favorite blocks and quilts, this is high on my to-do list!
Have just been looking through various sites to find a pattern for this very block. So thank you for doing a video of it that shows how a simple pattern can be so stunning to look at. Love the colours and cannot wait to make one for myself. 😊😊
You made me smile. My grandmother used to tie threads together so she didn't have to thread the needle.
It's typical to do this when changing thread colors on a longarm.....but memories of grandmothers are always nice to come by...
Oh those blasted pinked-edge crumbles get on EVERYthing!!!!!
I made a smaller version for a dog blanket and was able to use extra cut pieces for an inner binding. Very happy with it!
That is so pretty. I've bookmarked it for a later project already having 4 baby quilts and a personal throw for myself. But those colors are stunning. I chose the green thread too. Beautiful quilting too. Well done.
I love your fabric shop and the way you have your fabrics and precuts laid out. Wish ai lived closer to you.
Hello Mrs.Donna love the quilt. Love your nails 2 they look like batiks.
