Picked up a 2012 in sunburst orange a couple weeks ago. I love it because when you drive it normally, its like a base Civic, quiet and reserved. But the second you stomp on it, it comes roaring to life. So much fun.
Absolutely!!
Same here sunburst orange
Me too, the orange machine. That’s what I’ve been calling him or her. I haven’t quite decided yet. I’m still feeling out the personality. But undeniably the most fun car I’ve ever had.
Just picked up a 15 si with 50k. I love it, your right 9th gen is more comfortable quiet and refined. Just ring it over 5k for a different experience 😊
How much did you pay? Im looking to get one as well
@@jmech2298 18k
@@Flushandfit yeaa im looking at 20k for 60k miles. Will try to negotiate. If that doesnt work fuck it ill eat it
@@jmech2298 average deal! If it’s a 15 sedan
I ate it lol just got my 2015 sedan si with 95k Miles for 18k
Just got a 13 FG4 today and I’m beyond excited, and this video was VERY informative. Great stuff!!
I’m glad I could help out! It’s gonna be great!
Hell ya!
I just got one a few weeks ago 2014 and it is absolutely awesome. I’m having so much fun driving this car. It’s not even funny lol. I love the short shifting. I love the revving. I love this car.
Greeeeaaattt review. Pleasantly surprised how much I like the 9th gen. ♥️
got my 15' si in 18' and it had 12k miles on it! it's like 72k miles now and crazy that it's held the same value. car prices are stupid these days.
Link for the headlights? Great review by the way!
I have a 2013 si sedan silver in color bone stock for now. And YES perfect daily car.
Right?? It's like exactly what the civic should be imo.they should only be built with this quality after owning an SI I wouldn't go for a regular civic only because the transmission and everything feels high quality on these SIs.
I really think this model had the best dash layout design out of all civic. If you need to replace The head unit with aftermarket floating screen the the placement height is perfect height and will not block ac vents .
It is very nice!
Same as my 2013.Also IIRC the TPMS light wont allow you to turn off traction control.
Appreciate it!
Sheeesh I have a 21 FK8 but I'm so jealous of your Si brother. Very nice and clean, you got the best 2 Civic Si
We can trade if you want 😂😂
@@ProjectRad haha maybe, where do you live? Im in California
@@cooleye8887 Oregon Not to bad 😂🤟
@@ProjectRad haha yeah i guess so. I drove from San Diego to Vancouver Canada yeeeears ago and passed by Oregon, i fell in love with Oregon since. Scenery was soooo nice.
I just bought an LX 2012 civic with the 1.8 and a 5 speed.
I love this car I just bought a 2014 from Texas and I drove it 7 hours already because I'm driving it back home. And man I will say dude it's a sweet car on a long road trip to daily drive or even to look at. Under rated imo the engine gets up fast making it good for traffic driving.
Absolutely! Definitely a fun little beast
@@ProjectRad I couldn't have said it better myself
It's a good-looking car as well as the 2012 model.
Make your video on how to learn rev match downshift. You can be great teacher in my view.
Sounds good!
9th gen = best gen
8th generation won motor trend car of the Year N North American car of the year and the 9th generation came out it was so bad Honda had to go back to the drawing board to redo it lower Red line cheaper susp setup 9th generation was made during a recession and it shows Honda tried to cut costs all over the lineup buddy
For looks yeah but 8th gen def the best
Got to love the 8 gen 8k redline I got one and keeping it for ever
@@kevinwhiting8391 9th gen is a faster car. I own both. And the 9th has more power under boost. And this thing called torque
@@kevinwhiting8391 Fr, I don’t know what this car on about
huh, that's crazy that the 2013's didn't even have the keyless entry and push button start that the 14/15's have
I thought the same thing!
Under 75k daily driven 2013 si sedan. Finally doing some upgrades 😊
Very nice!!
Just copped a 2013 w 30k miles, hondata and suspension first up
30k miles? That’s insane!
@Cherian Philip Really depends on lots of things! Like year, miles, mods, title status, and location
CLEAN si bro
I just picked up a 2013 96K miles, $14.5K. Ouch. But, this is a fun car to drive.
As long as you can afford it and are having fun who cares. Awesome man
Paid about the same for mine bro
I assume it also loses power not having the stock intake & no tune. Doubt it much power loss though. Awesome review! Ive owned both 8th & 9th. But I sure do miss revving to the moon in my fa5.
I appreciate it man!! Stay tuned!
@@ProjectRadwhere is the temperature gauge exactly
which one do you think is better for a daily with some light mods?
@@HunterxHunter17 No temp gauge. There's a blue light for when its cold, and a red light for when its hot.
Looking at a ‘15 with 91k mi. Dealer is asking for $18500. Can anyone give advice on how low I can realistically haggle to?
$16500 if you’re lucky. $17500 at least
Any head gasket issues?
No head gasket issues!
Is that a stock so exhaust I'm thinking about finding a si axle back and throwing it on my 09 civic ex coupe R18A1
Also have the same car, but in black. Great car bought it over a month ago now. The engine bay is pretty dirty though, any tips for cleaning it?
Congrats man! Start off by using a compressor to blow the loose dirt out. Then scrub as much as you can. Next cover up electrical components and lightly rinse if you have to.
How much did you pay bro? Looking to get one as well but theyre nearing 20k or at 20k with 60-100k miles
Missss her 😢😢😢😢
I am your 900th like!
8th gen best Si. K20z3
As a daily I average 30.5 on my 9th gen on mpg
Very nice!
Late to party here but if you can i just got one, its my first manual and i was hoping to better my gas mpg with the civic from my camaro plz help me how do i get such good mpg
@@Noah_Metzcity driving i get about 25ish mpg but on the highway i can get around 36-37. In the city its not that great.
@@Noah_Metzshift at 1500-2k rpm’s mpg will go up
This was my car. With the tune and Hondata never got close to that mpg. I wish.
9:49 wyatt shit his pants, love u buddy
😂😂😂
Absolutely. My apologies
Do NOT lower that car. Why?
So we can get some better fitment and better handling. Stiffer suspension will roll less and lower will lower your center of gravity!
Ay bro i bought this car from the auction😂
No way that's amazing!
@@ProjectRad but the car has a problem of going into vtec it bogs out at 5k rpm
@@user-ih2cb9cc2f Needed a new tune pretty bad when we had her.
@@ProjectRad okay thank you man.
2012 is the worst year of Civic
I yeeted my muffler 😂😂😂
You’re a brat 😂😂
No double wishbone suspension lower Red line it is gen 8.5...k 20 is much more fun and a better engine
only thing i hate about my 2015 si is lack of TEMP GAUGE. the light indicator is a horrible tool. as a tech i was able to install an aftermarket glowshift temp gauge. i see people start banging on this engine soon as the blue light goes away. bad idea. blue light turns off ard 120 F, engine is fully warmed up at 195 F.
I always wondered when that light went off. I never trusted it!
Oh muffler delete oh god my sounds like shit doing that lmao 😅
