So I recently purchased the Ryobi from Home Depot along with a 5’ extension. As an electrician, I used my 1/2” conduit bender and made a slight bend in the extension; making it easier to reach the under carriage of my Tundra and my other cars. The added bend also changes the trajectory of the nozzles to straight up and down. Surprisingly on my basic electric Kobalt 1800 (same as Greenworks/Crafstman) it is very effective
you're right on with the Ryobi Water Broom. I live in New York, so salt on the roads in the winter is an issue, additionally after off roading, it works great getting all the mud off the bottom of the Jeep.
I bought the Ryobi unit a couple of years ago from Home Depot and overall I really like it. The only thing to be aware of is it (and the surface cleaner, by the looks of it) won't work if your car is too low as you won't be able to get underneath due to clearance, as Josh mentioned. I have seen some talk of people replacing the wheels on their water brooms with smaller ones that allow them to get more clearance but I haven't looked into this myself personally.
Hi josh I have the ryobi water broom I just use it for my driveway also after your review I bought the craftsman surface cleaner works great on my vinyl deck as far as cleaning the underneath of my truck I’m able to go on a creeper and pressure wash thanks Josh
I must say an ik foam pro 12 to put detergent on the undercarriage, then just rinsing it with an angled lance also works pretty good. Made my mechanic very happy
Josh. could you hock up the foam cannon and use a former, 50% Super Clean and 50 % water? It would be cool to have the SC foam and twell and then rinse.
I own the Ryobi water broom. Overall, I'm happy with it. I just wish the connection would pivot more than it does so you could get a vertical spray without going all the way to the ground with the wand.
Thanks for the video Josh. I been waiting for video like this. I did email you about how to get car foam soap underneath the vehicle undercarriage with the undercarriage sprayer , I’m still trying to figure out a foam sprayer attachment to it if possible. Thanks again for the video 👍
Is there a drain when you are cleaning the undercarriage. It seems like it would fill up with dirt dropping back down from the undercarriage, or is the pressure enough to keep that from happening? I hope that makes sense
Can you make a video explaining what's the difference between turtle wax car wash shampoos there are too many in the market (walmart-costco-autozone) I'm confusing
Hey, Josh. Does round surface cleaner has drain hole built in? If we reverse the direction of the spray to clean undercarriage, especially low car, water can build up in the surface cleaner. Just a question. Thank you for video.
Yo, have you seen the new clear 5 gallon buckets at Sam's Club? $4/each and look pretty nice for detailing. Looks like they have measuring marks on them as well. Haven't seen one in person yet, but saw them on "The Deal Guy" channels most recent video.
What do you recommend to get concrete off from under the car, running boards and fender flares (Bronco). Construction crew was rinsing concrete into oncoming traffic so it splashed all over my new Bronco. Immediately washed it off the paint and wheels but there is some staining under the vehicle that washing alone won’t remove. Any suggestions would be appreciated
Good luck. You're finding out why they use it for making roads. That being said... put Vaseline on the concrete and let soak through for a day. Then get at it. It may take three or more applications, but it will remove most of the concrete.
@imjoshv Any way you could tell us what the psi and the amp draw from the Ryobi and the surface cleaner?? I want to be sure of is that it they won't blow my 15 amp outlet fuse. Thanks!
You do know you are going to be responsible for my murder cause my better half gets mad when I see something that I like and want like the Ryobi broom another great video Josh
Someone needs to make a water broom with swappable wheels so you could use it on cars or trucks. The "pressure" of the nozzles hitting the truck looked very low. It needs to be closer to the underside of a truck to work.
It's good you realize that super powerful pressure washers can be bad for cleaning cars. The units I run would have cut your fingers off if you had stuck them in front of the nozzle like you did, but I clean drains, not cars, 4000 psi at 8 gpm.

Yea i didnt cover an pre treatments, but using an ik to apply something before rinsing is a great idea!

that surface cleaner flipping the wheels and making it a 2in1 is awesome. i didnt know that existed. thanks for sharing

Get an outboard engine flush kit. Put it inline in your hose connect and fill with soap
This is cool! How would you hook up a foam cannon to the Ryobi? I need to put some sort of degreaser or soap on there
Salt off inline outboard motor flush kit
Mosmatic has one as well. I bought one two years ago and it works as advertised.
I bought the service cleaner from Karcher excellent cleaner for patio, siding, camper!!
Hey Josh I think you have it backwards the angle part of the extension is supposed to be at the top where the spay gun is.
It comes in black too!!! Ordered.

What brand/model of power washer did you use for the surface cleaner did you use?
Brush surrounds on surface cleaners aren't for agitation, it's just to keep debris from flying out from under unobstructed.

Can we get a review of Griots Brilliant Finish Snow Foam soap?
Any word of your going to be doing an active 2.3 pressure washer review?
I used your link for the surface cleaner and it was on sale today. This is
going to be great for my offroader
Oh awesome!!!
How much was it on sale for? Definitely gonna put in my bag and hopefully it goes on sale again
@@YoungSperm I paid $80 for the 13 inch in black. It's $103 for the 13 inch stainless today (Apr 14, '24)
i've been wanting to get these, but im running an active 2.0, and was thinking it wouldn't have enough power to be effective.
Thats the exact unit i used in the video. No problem at all for these tools!
Hey josh
Costco just released POWERBUILT

Could probably swap out wheels on Ryobi with some rollerblade wheels or similar to get lower profile
Thanks Josh! If I purchase stuff from your store, do you charge extra for shipping to Hawaii? Aloha my man!
USPS is the best option for Hawaii shipping.. if it’s super expensive shoot me an email to joshv@dtlrsupply.com and I’ll see what I can do!

Glad it was helpful!
Do you have a way to add soap or foam for that undercarriage?
Salt off inline outboard flush kit
Great review!
Great idea thanks Josh!!!
You bet!
I’ve been meaning to get one of these for so long but no customer has asked about it and I also live in an area that gets salt once every 5 years😂
How do you suggest adding a cleaner to the spray or otherwise?
I would use something like a garden sprayer to pre treat the area if needed
Salt off inline outboard engine flush
I would be afraid to do something like this to my hybrid. 😮
Yeah youd want to be really careful with all of the batteries and electronics.
Why? You don't know of rain and water puddles? If you were being funny, so was I.
The only time I would want to clean my cars undercarriage in NE Ohio is in the winter. But you're not supposed to use your hose spigot in the winter.
Spring rinse off!
