@@larrydavisj honestly, there's so many products on the market that it's just easier to pick one that works and that you like. Social medias embedded this message that product group A (brands you hear and read about mostly on TH-cam) is the end all be all and group B (the brands you see in Walmart and other big box stores) are inferior. Reality most of group B are decent and will get the job done. They're just not talked about because they may not be "prosumer grade" or "pro grade". I mix and match though, I use Gyeon/Car Pro/Adam's for soap and Adam's for tire and wheels.
I have been watching several of your videos lately since I am in the market for a garage vac and a new pressure washer gun. Most of my options were items you were checking out. I am in the process of getting my channel going. Have a bunch of videos that need processed. In my opinion, the glossy tire look is not good especially if silicone is in it. One thing I will have a video on is a tire treatment from Dodo Juice I have been using for nearly 10 years and it gives a fantastic deep satin black finish. Autogeek sold it, then dropped it about a year after I bought it. I now have to import it from the UK. I love using it. I also found Mother's Back to Black as an absolute game changer to cleaning the tires before applying it.
Great information. But what can get the sticky residue from a spray can tire shine. Went to a fundraising car was and they sprayed my tires. I'm trying to strip back to put the cerakote tire dressing on. Thanks for the great videos. You explain everything so well.
When I was 15 or 16 I spray painted the wheels on my dirt bike matte black. Since the tires were already black I figured masking wouldn’t matter and even if you could see the paint it would rub off quickly from the sand/mud and washing. My dad had the same bike and same tires. I was absolutely blown away that the paint soaked right into the tires and they stayed significantly darker black for the remainder of their life compared to my dad’s. In my later teens I had a set of tires on my car that always seemed to need scrubbing to get rid of the browning. I masked off my wheels and painted the tires with black spray paint again and from then on I rarely had to scrub the tires and they stayed looking brand new even without a dressing. Since I’ve experimented a little by spraying a light coat of silver paint onto a tire and trying to scrub it off after curing. It was very difficult. Even a red scotch pad made for auto body barely made a dent. I’m not saying everyone should spray paint their tires because some formulations may differ from the tires I used, but since then I’ve seen tire dressing as a big gimmick. The only one I see being close to paint would be renew blak as I’m pretty sure it is essentially paint. Surprisingly I actually don’t spray paint my tires anymore and occasionally use a tire dressing, but it’s more because I don’t care to bother painting my tires tan any other reason. Just thought I’d share my experience.
Two Products in my arsenal 1) Superior Dark Fury for general wheel & tire clean, but can be used also to spot preclean real dirty lower sections of car, also for bugs, 2) Superior Whitewall 1000 when tires are really bad with lots of browning.
Totally agree. No need to get crazy with tires. I use CarPro Retyre to clean, then CarPro Darkside as a long-term dressing and touch-up with CarPro Perl after a maintenance wash. I run 35” mud terrains on my Jeep. Hate to clean and dress those.
I have been using superior products whitewall 1000 on the tires half product half water $13 a gallon at oreilly auto parts would love to see you try some superior products chemicals I think you’d be impressed
I have a question non related to tires I have a brand new suv with very light interior we had it four days when we noticed dye transfer on the leather bucket seats. Is there a product that I can use to get that off and also if it comes off can I prevent it??
I have a question, I’ll be getting the ryobi 2000 psi. But my question is can I use this water pressure for detailing and also for like cleaning my driveway, or am I better off getting a different one for that?
I revieved the new ceracote prof paint coating. Good for them. For free. Are you gonna test it. I asked pan the same question but he only answers when you give a compliment. Are you gonna test it. Is only fair to cerakote i think. Hope it works...
You should do a review on Ripclean products. They made the extractor kit for shop vacs and just came out with a rinseless wash. No one has pick up this brand yet
So I just a got a new (used to me) car and I’m having a hell of a time to get the tires to stop browning. I’ve used super clean, full strength, then diluted 4:1, I’ve tried all clean. Multiple times. It’s not brown when I’m scrubbing the tires. It’s shows when it dries. I want to apply a coating to the tires but the brown keeps showing up. Any advice?
In your opinion is there anything better than what active offers for pressure washers? I want to get the active 2.3 but was wondering if there’s something that performs better that isn’t just for car cleaning. Something that has both high GPM and PSI. Deck cleaning, siding, etc. and car cleaning. I’m not worried about paint damage since I’m very cautious with nozzle distance.
Josh V; what is your opinion on using Awesome multipurpose cleaner on tires? I used it on my Toyota truck tires and it looked like it lifted all the oils and road grime and I’d just hose it off. I only left it on for about 15-20 seconds.
Mineral spirits work great if dressing is caked on and every cleaner you tried including dedicated tire cleaners still dont work, those things are great for maintenance but actual dirt stripping down to bare rubber mineral spirits is probably the best.
Just curious... How often do you clean and detail your own car? I clean the surface of my car with ONR whenever I drive further than ~50 miles. But only wash my car once a month. Thanks Josh.
That is way too much contact with your paint, especially without water. Everytime, everytime you do any contact cleaning of your paint you scratch it. This is true for everybody, no matter how good they are or what they use. It just depends on the degree. You can minimize the scratches with technique, knowledge and product, but they still happen. You’d be better off doing a once a week water contact wash than what you’re currently doing. If you need to do something in between that time a contactless foam and rinse would also be better. Key is to minimize contact.
As an older guy that grew up with white wall tires, i have always used Bleche-Wite made by Black Magic (used to be Wesley's). It always provides great results. And i dont feel like for a daily driver that you need to be worried about being too agressive. If its driven often, the tire tread will wear out way before the tire dry rots.
are those American flags above the " Rebel " on the door Factory? They're 1 way stickers the passenger side is reversed backwards.... strange... as for your " white wall tires" look on your invoice it probably says with OWL on your tires " Outlined White Letters" You can get them without... Great tire video though!
Tire might've needed another cleaning. I always clean them until the suds from the tire cleaner no longer changes color when agitating, usually 2-4 times depending on how dirty the tires are.
Yeah you’re right… I’m not very good at taking the safety precautions and gloving up. I think it’s from having to work quickly… not a good excuse, but I’m used to forgetting
I use Adam's Tire and wheel cleaner then CarPro Darkside... Lasts over a month depending on weather conditions.
Adams tire cleaner is no joke!
Adams goes brown before I can even grab my brush. You can also dilute it
I go cheap on tire cleaner. Turtlewax tire cleaner from Walmart.

Great info Josh, you made a great point about going overboard and unintentionally wearing down the tire.

Can you do a review on the exoforma tire dressing Josh and give us your thoughts .
What ratio do you use when using the Koch Chemie tire cleaner

Great video josh... What cordless sprayer is that?
Is it bad if the brake disc have like orange coloring or is that just grease that needs to be cleaned
If it’s after you wash your car it is most likely just rust that gets removed once you drive and hit the brakes
Off topic but how do feel about that new tailgate style?
What you said at 8:45 was so spot on. I’ve always believed that.

1st another great video Josh.
Thanks!
Great video Josh! Ur wife has a sweet truck!
Some days I can clean a tire 2-3 times with some heavy duty cleaners where the local drive through auto applied tire shine over layers of dirt. 🤢

No they are magnets!
They are that way because it signifies the flag being carried into battle.
Turtle Wax Mister cartoon all tire clean and prep is the best for white wall tires. Better than bleche white from black magic.
