@@TRR43 you want the 2.5 orifice to get you to 1050psi and the most gpm for that pressure washer. If you go bigger you’ll be under 1000psi. You want 1000-2000psi for detailing cars.

So much of the consumer ebay and Amazon grade pressure washer parts from China use 430 stainless, which rust. Or plated steel. Why do you think they are so cheap?
You get what you paid for. The reason it's cheap is because it's cheaper to make, aka poorly made, in China. Hey Josh, I'm from the Philippines and just received my nozzles identical to the ridge washer today and you uploading this video was very fun to see. I ordered mine from Shopee (basically south east asia's Amazon) with the seller shipping straight from China. It wasn't even branded Ridge Washer where I bought it from but my nozzles are 100% identical to yours, including the branding on the rubber end which I was very surprised to see. Those nozzles have been on sale for around a year for us. Anyways I'm really glad to see your review on them, and I agree they're amazing value for what they are. I only bought the green and white nozzles for $3 each, with free shipping.
If you like the McKillins better you could always use a paint pen or something similar to put a colored ring around the black guard with the normal color for the angle of the nozzle

The problem I have with the ridge tips is that on my ryobi pressure washer it seems to make it work harder , I hear it forced and not smooth like it does with the ryobi tips. Great video brother
Hi the Ryobi tips are usually around a 1.8 - 2.0 orifice. When you go to a larger orifice it will definitely change the sound of the machine but its actually not working harder. If you do an amp test you can see that when increase the size of the orifice it will decrease the amps meaning the machine isnt working as hard. However, if you prefer how the Ryobi tips work, keep tp that cause i havent been able to find an aftermarket nozzle that is as small as those! Quick question before i make my purchase. i use a GAS power washer ( Honda 2600 PSI) my stock tip are 2.9 - will i be okay with a McKILLANS NOZZLE 4.0 ?or i need to stick to 3.0 ?. Thank you
Not sure where "not your daddy" got his information but according to Obsessed Garage (did I get that channel/company name correct?) Anyway According to their website video the Ryobi 1800 electric pressure washer needs a 2.5 orifice. I know this because I just ordered the Ryobi and the Ridge washer tips. Hope this helps.
What size nozzle would you prefer with a sunjoe spx3000 max pressure 2030. A 3.0,3.5or4.0? I think you recommended getting down to 1200 psi and maximizing water flow. Thanks.

I have a cheap SunJoe spx3000 that I upgraded the hose and quick connecters from your recs. I got the short wand on order but I want to upgrade the nozzles. SunJoe says the orifice size for all their nozzles is 1.0mm. Can I use the other sizes without any issues? looking mostly just for hosing down and rinsing off. Also got the MJJC cannon on order.
Hey @Josh what orifice size for the Ridge Washer nozzles would you recommend for the running the Harbor Freight pressure washer? (With the McKillans Pressure Gun and Flexzilla hose)
In case Accidentally didn’t seat the tip properly in the QD this adds a layer of protection so it hopefully protects the paint from the high speed metal object flying towards it
In your directions on bottle it says spray on damp microfiber towel. Since I take care of my vehicle I used kmkz cleansing to a quarter panel and of course cleaned it off the proper way. I had a three year topped with a one year of your older version of your ceramic coating when it first came out. Remember those days? I guess I'll use it on a dry applicator on the rest of car. HELP! Thx for your videos, but this one was very interesting. So I ordered the RIDGE WASHER 4.0 nozzles with the gauge of the same brand. I also ordered the Active short gun (thx for that video) with Yamatic 3/8"x50’ hose. I have an old Simoniz 1900 psi pressure washer (bought in 2002?), so I’m not sure about the specs. I tested with a bucket and it takes 40 seconds to fill one gallon with just the gun, no pressure nozzle, which gives me 1.5 gpm, if I plug the 4.0 nozzle I have 1 gpm. When I use the pressure gauge with the nozzle 4.0 attached, it shows around 525 psi, is that enough for washing a car? Should I go with a 3.0 orifice ? which I believe will give me around 1000 psi if we consider 1.5 gpm. Or should I go with the 2.5 orifice? Any advice?
You should have compared all the Ridge Nozzles in the set. I have a set of Ridge Nozzles and one nozzle seems to have a pressure reading that is inconsistent with the rest of the set. So, I’m concluding there might be some quality control issues with orifice size.
@@imjoshvI ordered a second set and just received it today. I will test them tomorrow. In my first set, the green nozzle was 150-200 psi lower than the others in the set. I checked the markings and they are all 3.0 orifice size. I’ll let you know the results of tomorrow’s test.

I'm thinking about getting some of the Ridgeline tips for my 2100 psi Green works pressure washer with a 50' Uberflex hose and McKillans swivel gun. Should I get the 2.5 or 3.0 orifice to maximize my GPM?
As far as orifice size? It depends but if your using an electric ryobi or craftsman or something like that youll probably want the 2.5 or 3.0 for washing cars.
I use a yellow (?) Ryobi 1800psi PW, a 35' red Uberflex pw hose, a black McKillans stubby pw gun, a green 25° 2.5 orifice Tool Daily pw nozzle (from a set) or a blue MTM 3.0 25° pw nozzle guard (when feeling the need for extra protection) and being color blind, I really don't GAS if any of my DIY equipment matches. Additionally, NO ONE ELSE on my private street has ever cared either but they always stop by to ask about my set-up.
I have the 2100 psi craftsman and I use 3.0 nozzles I got it down to almost 1000 psi it’s been working great for doing vehicles for home use I use the tips that came with the unit
I just bought that same blue essential swivel gun to finally upgrade from a cheap purple one I was using! It was on sale, but it came with the box open, and the gun rattles inside when handling it. I haven’t had a chance to use it. Is it normal for that gun to make a rattle noise (sounds like a screw is loose inside). I hate to be a pain and return things, so I’m not sure 🤷🏼♀️
Hmmm hard to tell sometimes just the pivot point for the trigger can make a noise. They are pretty easy to open up and check out just to make sure nothing is rolling around inside. Then try it out to make sure if not having any issues. If you bought it on amazon it’s easy to return!!
I have a GreenWorks 1600 psi electric pressure washer I scored for 50$...what orafice size should I buy for my tips ? I was using my old Briggs and Stratton ones from my gas pressure washer but they are 4.5 and obviously aren't the proper ones...was thinking of going 3.0?

Josh - curious about your choice of 40 degree nozzle (I’m a newbie). Is it purely convenience - greater coverage - or is there a safety/protection reason over a more narrow stream? I hope you stayed dry over the recent storms (I’m up in Oceanside - 2.5”!!!)
40 degree is chosen for two reasons. Almost no chance of damage to car or trim. Don't have to worry about getting too close. And 40 acts great for creating a water blade for pushing soap of the card after foaming. Most detailers also use a 25 for wheels and wheel well

I was wondering if you were going to ever test the PSI for each. That would have allowed you to tell the difference in orifice size as well.
Quick question before i make my purchase. i use a GAS power washer ( Honda 2600 PSI) my stock tip are 2.9 - will i be okay with a McKILLANS NOZZLE 4.0 ?or i need to stick to 3.0 ?. Thank you
Josh, great review and sorry if I missed it but what nozzle do you recommend to pair with the Active 2.0? Thanks
great comparison. need to add OG tip as well as Carbon Collectives tips, best in the game in my opinion.
Thanks Josh hope you don't get washed away with all the rain!!!
haha thanks!
@@imjoshv I live in LA so I know what you have gone through!!!
I'm confused regards the orfice size. So for they ryoby 1800psi which would be the right orfice?
4.0
Not sure where "not your daddy" got his information but according to Obsessed Garage (did I get that channel/company name correct?) Anyway According to their website video the Ryobi 1800 electric pressure washer needs a 2.5 orifice. I know this because I just ordered the Ryobi and the Ridge washer tips. Hope this helps.
What size nozzle would you prefer with a sunjoe spx3000 max pressure 2030. A 3.0,3.5or4.0? I think you recommended getting down to 1200 psi and maximizing water flow. Thanks.
What’s your favorite OG product? I have several of their products but think it’s over priced.. but great quality.. I have been wanting to grab the aquatic, or what ever is called.. looks nice, but detailing cars is constant wear and tear on personal equipment
Question, new to this, what type
Of nozzles would work best for a ryobi 1800 psi. Thanks!
I stick to either a 2.5 or 3.0 for that unit… 2.5 is probably the best
Just bought some ridge brand ones!
Nice!
Great review. I will be ordering the McKillans nozzle in a few days. Josh, what do you recommend regarding a good pressure washer gun? Thanks for doing these videos, they really help.
Ive done a bunch of videos on pressure washer guns. I stick with a pretty basic design and go with either the Mckillans of the Essential Washer units. The MTM wands are awesome too. Heres are the ones i use: amzn.to/42xwjeo or amzn.to/3w78azm
Thank you so much for your reply and also the two recommendations. I will be ordering the McKillans gun. :)
Awesome, Thanks for sharing. Love your Content.
Does anyone know what size nozzle best works with my Greenworks 3000 PSI Power Washer? I'd like to order a set of Ridge Nozzle. Thanks.

Need some guidance. I already have some 2.5 & 3.5 for my Ryobi 1900 psi and 1.2gpm. Testing with my hand and cardboard, the 3.5 seems too harsh. Hurts the hand sooner than the 2.5. Solely used for washing cars, which is the best for that?
What would be a good one to get for a craftsman electric pressure washer or what’s best recommended great vid tho

I am buying the Greenworks 1700 over the 1800 as per your suggestion. However the test that you did that got the 1700 up to its highest psi was an ryobi nozzel. What size do i need
Do you like the 4.0 orifice the best or 3.0 or 3.5?
What’s the real benefit to this style of nozzle vs the traditional nozzle in the same degree and size orifice for car detailing?
In case Accidentally didn’t seat the tip properly in the QD this adds a layer of protection so it hopefully protects the paint from the high speed metal object flying towards it
Will this nozzles work with the sun joe spx300 pressure washers
In your directions on bottle it says spray on damp microfiber towel. Since I take care of my vehicle I used kmkz cleansing to a quarter panel and of course cleaned it off the proper way. I had a three year topped with a one year of your older version of your ceramic coating when it first came out. Remember those days? I guess I'll use it on a dry applicator on the rest of car. Also how long to cure before BC3?
Wish McKillans made different orifice sizes. Using a 2.3 I’d want a 4.5.
Mtm one is great and they always have multiple sizes in stock!

Ill do some tests and let you know if mine have any change. But if there is inconsistency, mine could be perfect but another set could be slightly off
@@imjoshvI ordered a second set and just received it today. I will test them tomorrow. In my first set, the green nozzle was 150-200 psi lower than the others in the set. I checked the markings and they are all 3.0 orifice size. I’ll let you know the results of tomorrow’s test.
Great vid Josh. Does MTM make a 5.0?
Yea they do you can get it direct frok the www.mtmhydroparts.com/products/acqualine-nozzle-guard-size-5-0-40
I have the ridge washer nozzles and they work good for me but I have Ben wanting to get the mckillans and try it out think mckillans has good products
Yeah like I mention in the video, they actually go deep in to developing their products. It’s not just a simple private label with them. They really care about their products

Hi Josh, when you would have back the creature edgeless 420 gsm towels back in stock?
What is the actual difference between orifice numbers on the nozzles? say a 04 /25° or a 03/25° what does the 04 or 03 mean? What does it mean to teh spray coming out?
@imjoshv what do you recommend for an ar blue 675? It puts out 1.76 gallons per minute. What orifice size?

Why didn’t you also compare the Obsessed Garage options?
I got a spray gun online, but when connected to pressure washer
There is no water pressure coming from the gun
I connected my wand and pressure is good
Any ideas?
The ridge washer tips are hard plastic. MTM is soft rubber. Big difference!
Thanks for the video. Will the mickillans come in either orifice sizes?
Not that i know of… I hope they will in the future
We need a garden hose sprayer nozzle comparison.
Eley is where it’s at for this.
@@MikeGDetailing I already own the hose reel. Hands down the best one I’ve ever owned.
I'm thinking about getting some of the Ridgeline tips for my 2100 psi Green works pressure washer with a 50' Uberflex hose and McKillans swivel gun. Should I get the 2.5 or 3.0 orifice to maximize my GPM?
I’d go for the 3.0 if you want more flow
Go with the flow! Gotcha!
@injoshv looking at it on Amazon which set do I want I thought it was four different sizes
As far as orifice size? It depends but if your using an electric ryobi or craftsman or something like that youll probably want the 2.5 or 3.0 for washing cars.
I have the Mckillons, really because it’s black and I use the active pressure washer gun which is black 😂 I do like it.
@@CC_Marauder nice, you have every color in the spectrum 😂 really I got the mckillons nozzle over the mtm because of price.
Josh I have the Craftsman 1700psi electric you have reviewed. Which orifice should I get in the ridge washer setup? Thanks!

What orifice would be the best combo for a Ryobi 1600psi? Car Wash purposes.
I’d do the 2.5 or 3.0
I want to test out the new Ridge washers what size would you suggest for a Ryobi pressure washer
I usually go 2.5 or 3.0 so for these id probably go 3.0 for washing cars
Hey Josh what is the main reason for the cone on the nozzle?
Just protection and it looks cool ha. Its not something that super necessary but it is nice to have the extra insurance just in case
Forgive me, but how are these different from standard tips?
Any options in Europe?
What’s the best/optimal orifice size for active 2.3. Is it 4.5 orifice that’s gonna produce 1200 psi or 4.0 orifice that has 1000 psi. Please let me know what psi is perfect for washing cars and that’s gonna work with this 15a pressure washer
I think the 2.3 ships with a 4.6 so if your are going with a nozzle guard version I’d go with the 4.5
Josh - curious about your choice of 40 degree nozzle (I’m a newbie).
